The 18 Best Restaurants In Berlin 2024

"Ramen might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Berlin. But it’s everywhere, and the perfect antidote to a heavy night out. Sit at the counter and get your steaming bowl of house-made noodles delivered straight from the kitchen through a mahogany window. The shoyu broth with perfectly-sous-vide chicken chashu and the vegan tantan are our favorites. But whichever base you go for (miso, soy, seafood, pork, chicken, and sesame are available), expect the fudgiest egg and surprising additions like slivers of orange peel. You can’t reserve in advance, so expect a line." - cindy brzostowski, olivia ladanyi

Google
I visited Niko Niko Ramen and was truly impressed. Everything was simply delicious, but I especially loved the traditional tonkotsu ramen 🍜— it had such a rich, deep, salty flavor. I’d easily give the ramen 10 out of 10. The Kirin beer on tap was also excellent. 🤤 Overall, it was a pleasure to be in a small, local, authentic ramen restaurant. Highly recommended!

Google
Very tasty. Traditional Ramen in pork and chicken broth but also lots of vegetarian options. Japanese beer from the tap!

Disclaimer: I’m evaluating the ramen only. I’m not taking into account the service, atmosphere, waiting time, noise level, or anything else. I care solely about the ramen. I also never give 5 stars as I keep it for the ideal place. Nevertheless, the atmosphere here reminded me more than any other place of a traditional local ramen shop in Japan. I ordered the tonkotsu gyokai. Hearty and moderately rich, but a bit too salty for my taste. The portion was just right, though I would have preferred a whole ajitama instead of just a half.

Google
It's tasty but like charging 4,50€ for 1 singular mochi, 2,50€ for a scoop of ice cream and 3,50€ for a coke zero is outrageous. I was aware of the portion size of the coke, but the mochi especially I had no idea would come in store size. One 6 pack of mochis in most asia stores costs 3,50€, and I was charged 4,50€ for a single one! I thought it was gonna be a bigger one but nope. Sorry but that's unacceptable. The prices are absurd.

Google
Their cold ramen on a hot summer day perfectly cools you down ⭐️ It was a delight to eat the Shoyu Ramen, you have to try it! And their gyoza as a starter as well.

Update: came to this place after a long time. Ramen was very tasty. The dessert is not a strong suit. Miso tonkotsu 17 euro, dorayaki 3 euro. Original Japanese ramen. Not like the Hako ramen in Prenzlauerberg and Keurzberg at all which owned by another owner. The soup was thick and favorable, not the type you should drink it all. But if you do, it’s still very yummy! Recommend this Hako ramen than the other two Hako ramens.

Google
No way. The place is really Japanese, but the service was not fast and above all the quality of the raw materials was disappointing. Here in Berlin I ate Tonkotsu with fine meat for 10 euros, here for 17 euros they give you two very thin slices of meat and an industrial pasta. no. Too expensive.

Google
This was a really good food experience! I suggest sitting around d the kitchen if there is space .. it’s entertaining and you get to see all the really great dishes that come out from there I can recommend this spot for a good meal! The dessert wasn’t my favourite but that’s a personal taste thing and not a quality issue 🙌 If ramen is your thing then this is another on the try list

Yelp
The ramen here matches the lively and hip ambience that surrounds the restaurant. I ordered the Veggie Black Tan Tan because I was intrigued by the black sesame broth. After getting it, I would recommend just getting the regular Veggie Tan Tan instead. The addition of Black Sesame adds some grittiness and another layer of complexity that weakens rather than elevate the broth flavor.

Yelp
We went again after having heard so many controversial people saying this is a great place and yet we still aren't convinced. Yes I might increase my rating to maximum 3 stars but not more. Why? 1) the broth is far too thick and creamy. It's like you've left your noodles in water for too long where the water sucks in all the starch from the noodles that makes the small amount of water super thick. 2) The noodles and ramen therefore are very heavy. What i liked: the noodles are chewy al dente. They have eggs and bamboo which is good. Would I come again? - No. takumi is by miles better than hako. If you like creamy thick heavy broth ramen. Give this a try. Otherwise, there are better spots in Berlin.

Yelp
My new favorite ramen place in Berlin, and an absolute must-eat on a chilly day! My first impression was lovely, as the entire experience - perhaps I got lucky in that each time I came here solo, I skipped the line and was seated immediately at the table around the kitchen, from which one can watch the ramen-making process. This seating arrangement provides a very authentic experience - there's something about taking your bowl directly from the chef over the table counter (and practicing your non-existent Japanese!). I tried both the shoyu and tantan ramen, and loved both. The shoyu broth was very hearty and satisfying, just the right consistency. Tantan ramen broth had just the right amount of heat and comforting sesame flavor - got some extra chasu with it since there is not a whole lot of meat in each bowl (two cuts), but sometimes less is more. The noodles were also very satisfying. I will be back to try the rest of the broths!

Yelp
Noodles: nice chewy texture, not over cooked Broth: strong and rich in flavour yet elegant and not too greasy Toppings: fresh and well done Menu: offers the classic but also nice vegan options Service: friendly and efficient I love a good noodle soup and Hako Ramen knows how to keep their ramen game high. During summer they also had the cold noodle soups with refreshing lemon and there was also some mochi ice cream. The thing with vegan ramen is that the broth can turn out dull. Hako Ramen offers apart from the miso ramen also the Tan Tan, Shio and Tonkotsu soup in a vegan version. The toppings are either with soy-meat, mushroom or extra veggies. Overall it doesn't taste like missing out much and I was very satisfiied.

Yelp
Great little ramen place, pretty authentic, nice staff and good service. Well worth a trip.

Yelp
Tasty and hearty ramen in a cozy atmosphere. Only downside was that they were out of all of the pork broth based ramen. Staff was alright, service kinda rushed. Would recommend for a decent rich ramen though.

Astrid B.

Yelp
Ordered the most expensive vegetarian ramen. It was a bowl of black vomit, some of the most disgusting slop I've ever had - they said it had vegetables but apparently that meant one limp piece of pak choy. I left the whole thing and they didn't bother to ask what was wrong. I never had anything this disgusting in Japan. This place is a rip off, find anywhere else.

Yelp
Very polite food attendants Gyoza is yum and spareribs is hefty portion. Noodles of ramen was ok but could be better.

Yelp
This place is such a nice location, a pleasant walk from Samariterstraße . Although the establishment is small and had to wait 10 min or so for a seat, the servers did their best to accommodate everyone who walked in as soon as a table/ sitting area opens up. It took less than five minutes for my server to greet me and take my order which I appreciated very much. The food came more or less around that time frame as well. I let my ramen soak for a few minutes before I dug in. The first thing I noticed was a strong taste of the water in comparison to the flavoring of the broth. The noodles were what I expected and in portion to what you're paying for the dish. When I ordered I requested an egg but I ended up not eating it. Same goes for the mushrooms, seaweed and Bok Choy which are in my day to day palate. Would come back again, but this time try a different dish. My bill total was 12 euros. I also ordered a ginger ale.

Yelp
This new Ramen restaurant was excellent! They provide delicious and authentic Ramen. However, on the menu are only a few drinks, and they do not provide any glasses, but then again, it just opened this month. All in all, very good!

Yelp
Loved this place! Great neighborhood, tiny place. Indoor seating at bar or outdoor seating at a communal table. I had a spectacular vegan ramen with miso broth and a Sapporo my friend had the regular ramen with a different broth. She loved hers too. Perfect portion. All in all a fantastic place and great for vegetarians or vegans.

Yelp
The only thing I'm disappointed by is the fact that I'm just finding out about this restaurant. It's small (the kitchen takes up about 1/3 of the space) but it's delicious. I had the vegan miso ramen and yes, I liked it better than Cocolo too. The broth was rich and the noodles were great. I'm definitely going to be a regular.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Very delicious Ramen!! They also have vegetarian and vegan options. The staff is friendly and the location is very cozy. Thumbs up

Mallory C.

Yelp
Better than Cocolo. And that says a lot! It's a tiny hole in the wall place offering ramen both vegetarian and classic flavors. I have been in search of a broth so rich it's almost got that sticky feel to it...and their hearty tonkotsu broth lived up that standard. Their thin-skinned gyozas are also pan fried to perfection. Officially the best ramen in town...for now ;) The only con is they don't serve alcohol. Who doesn't love a good sapporo with their ramen?!

Pamela N.

Yelp
So I don't know much about ramen and this is my first time trying the "real" deal (most of the times before I just cooked the 3 min ramen you buy in a supermarket). But I expected something totally different. Yes, the place was packed (so I thought that was a good sign) but the actual flavor was not tasty at all, the noodles were very hard and on top of that they had run out of chicken so I had to eat the vegan ramen . The portions were ok but I think for the price you are paying (€9) a little bit more noodles are much needed (even though I didn't like them as much but you got to fill up on something right?) In conclusion I would never go back to this place (after I paid I didn't even get my change back and after 10 min of waiting I just left)

Alvaro A.

Yelp
The ramen is normal, I didn't even finish it. The place is not comfortable or inviting, take into account it gets very crowded. Staff was polite. Prices are significantly higher than other ramen places.

Robert O.

Yelp
This place is a must for those looking to experience the multicultural food scene in Berlin! The food was exceptional, by far one of the top ramen I've ever had. The broth was very tasty, and the noodles were delicious; you could tell everything was fresh! The place is small and cozy, which makes for a great atmosphere to meet with a couple of friends.
