The food is good, although not as good as their Montrose location. The service was excellent and quick. It was a beautiful day and with outside seating in the local downtown park it should have been a very pleasant eating experience. I’m not sure what they can do to remedy this, but the problem with this location is the mentally ill panhandlers. Three times I was approached while eating, twice for $ and once with an offer to fight. This is more a city issue than Niko Niko’s, but it does mean I’ll eat elsewhere next time. Paul

Enjoyed a great brunch on-the-go here while walking around Houston downtown. The food was fresh, fantastic, and filling. The menu was fun twists on typical items like gyro wraps with the addition of an over easy egg. The setting is a wonderful park and a walk up little shop. Would recommend for a great bite and quite affordable considering the area.

I adore this brand. The way they cooking, you will lick your fingers. Chicken lemon soup is incredibly tasty and amazing, burger 🍔 is very fulfilling, other food is delicious. You will not regret if you will visit this place. You will fall in love. 😍😍💋 The only problem is - parking. We had to do 8 circles before we could park our car. That's the only minus. Overall place is perfect. You will enjoy sitting there and watching people walking by with dogs and others. HIGHLY RECOMMEND 👍🏻

First time trying this place today. No free parking around. Great view, has a fenced dog area to the side. The food tasted good, but it was kind of expensive. By the way, DOG FRIENDLY!! 👍🏻

I'm from Chicago and we eat Gyro Burgers there it's very popular. So I asked NIKOS could they make me one. Even tho I had to show them how. But it was very tasty they gave me alot of meat. Awesome place to eat at. Beautiful Scenery.

I was craving lamb (again)… so I headed over to Niko Niko’s for a weekday dinner today. We found parking pretty easily (free at 6pm). The cashier answered a host of questions about the menu very pleasantly. They have quiet a few vegetarian options. The food came out fast and it was extremely satisfying. All of the greens and veggies were fresh (ordered the tabouli). The gyros plate was very filling and seasoned perfectly. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the bustle of the city from a distance. There’s covered outdoor seating and you can watch the nearby residents walk their cute and well groomed dogs. Running water from multiple fountains is a peaceful backdrop that contrasts the passing cars. Niko Niko’s offers a great urban balance to unwind and take in our great Houston vibes while enjoying a dinner made with real wholesome ingredients.

Niko Niko’s is a Houston classic. They’ve been around this long because they keep doing everything right. I love having this little Niko Niko’s next to my job in Market Square Park. Even though they don’t have the full menu of the larger restaurant, it’s so convenient! I’ve ordered almost everything off the menu, unless it has mushrooms. I love their chicken avgolemono soup and mini gyro sandwich. The soup tastes the same every time, and over time, becomes nostalgic as you grow older. There is the right amount of dill for the herbal taste to compliment the lemon chicken broth and big slices of chicken breast. Their mini gyro sandwich is the perfect size for someone on-the-go. They provide the tzatziki on the side, but I prefer it already inside the pita. There isn’t much on this side of downtown for restaurants, so I treasure Niko Nikos even more.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved the food from this place. It was quite tasty. It’s in a fun location downtown by the park too! Would highly recommend if you’re out on the town checking out places or have an activity downtown.

It was okay. I went here with two of my three brothers. It's not the Niko Niko's I remembered years ago. To be fair, the location was new to me. My brothers said it's the same as the only one I knew. They seemed happy enough. I actually don't understand why. The food was clunky to my palate, and seemed all quickly made, with imitations of references of grill flavors. It had a production-line quality and flavor. Im still sullen about it. What happened? What's going on? Nor could I understand the manly crowds. Are y'all happy here? Truly? Y'all eat alotta shelf-life food? Instant food? Y'all unmarried? Can't cook? Never marinaded anything? Everyone white American here? Is Greek your most exotic adventure? In your mind. Does it just need the namesake, and your assumptive mind does the rest? Then dessert. Three kinds. Again, clunky. But extra clunky. I could not say fast enough to my brothers, no, y'all take the leftovers home. Please do. I had to contain myself that I was too happy to leave and eat something somewhere else. I was hungry. My palate needed cleansing. I needed to be alone in sadness too. This is not an off day. The service was still cajoling friendliness. Good deli friendliness. Well-organized too. So I bumped it up to three stars.

Four stars instead of five for a complete lack of indoor seating. This is NOT the place to go in the summer during the day, or any time during any day without a bucket load of mosquito repellant. That being said - delicious food, and some of the best gyro meat in town. The gyro salads are perfect if you're looking for an easy way to skip the carbs but still enjoy the delicious meat with some greens. They sell wine that you can drink in the park, which is a huge plus if you're there to chill with your dog or your family without getting hammered. Wine aunts, take note! This location is attached to Market Square Park, so there's plenty of grass for kids to play in, and there's also an attached dog run. Parking is street parking or paid lots, but if you come on a weekday during the evening, you can skip both the bar crowd and the business crowd.

We have loved Niko Niko's for many many years. No matter what location you visit you get great service and absolutely amazing food. I will forever recommend it!

Excellent Greek food and Greek hospitality! A legendary place, with amazing snackmosphere and Gyro sandwich! Recommend this place highly!

The hercules is NO JOKE. While traveling during a trip we were bedded down at the nearby hotel icon. We do love to experience greek cuisine when we travel since we have no option at home. We have gone to just a handful of greek establishments in texas so this is just going to cover the food sonce this location is nestled in a small hub next to a beautiful little park in downtown Houston. We ordered the hercules with extra pitas and extra rice side with our potatos, spanakopita, hummus/ tabouleh combo, and the baklava The hercules is a BEAST. We thought it would provide enough for two but this feeds like 4 people. It is a great way to sample all of their meats which are FANTASTIC. The spanakopita is a must buy. The hummus is standard but the tabouleh was very fresh and well made. I also really enjoyed their take on the baklava. Overall this was a pleasant experience taste wise but i really think its best justice is using a nearby table at their outdoor seating while enjoying your gyro. This is a very beautiful and classic area with cable cars, old churches, and classical architecture. This is definitely a place to visit while during a downtown stroll they also have awesome coffee options if you just need a java jolt. This is really a 4.5 /5 for food quality - quick service- atmosphere

We love Niki Niko's. The food is always great. This is one of the only restaurants that all of the family loves. The service is great. We have been coming here for years.

I mean this place is nice to be in the middle of downtown but I just wish there was some AC or fans blowin. It's hot in Houston so I do appreciate the attempt to create a covered patio with a bunch of CD's. I come out mainly to people and bird watch. I enjoy getting away from the office during lunch and even though this is a few blocks away it does make me feel a bit away from the crowded downtown crowd of suits. The food selection is limited because it's a small hut in the middle of the park, but if you like gyro you like gyro and that's all that matters. It's always nice to have a Greek restaurant as a food option. If you have a dog I guess this can be a place you meet others who come to walk their dogs in the park. If you want to just sit back and relax and enjoy the downtown life or just never had Niko nikoz the this is definitely a must stop.

Pros: Good outdoor place to eat in North Downtown area. Decent food -- consistent and as good as any Niko Niko's location Good variety of soda selection Cons: Terrible spot to eat in the summer Food can take a bit of time -- allocate 30 - 45 mins if you plan to visit.

Service is really slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Turns out food was ready and they did not let you know. It looks like the other folks had the same issue. Food is alright, but with limited lunch hours, waiting for 30 minutes for fast food isn't an option. Gyro meat was slightly bland. The other beef Souvlaki option was horrendously cut and difficult to eat. All in all, there's better options nearby for future reference

Really not my go-to place to eat. But it is all about the convenience when hanging out at the park, if you don't want to cross streets. They serve Mediterranean cuisine, with usual water / soda / wine and beers. Since they have monopoly of the park, you can sit anywhere : on the grass or at the table. Try to find the ones under cover with the big fans. It gets hot around here! Service was not memorable. Go figure which one is cash only and no cards, only after making the line for over 20 min. A little sign would be appreciated. Why care of the details though, when they know they're the only one that serve. Food was alright. Note to self: plan ahead to pick up from Phoenicia instead, or CVS for drinks. Blah.

First off the manager Oswaldo is really nice and is doing a great job at this location. I've been going to the Montrose location for years. Maybe 20 years. First time every visiting this location for breakfast. Really nice outdoor spot to have a meal. Very relaxing spot to grab a bike. Lots of shade with trees and patio overs. I am surprised this place wasn't jam packed. With the good food and the nice outdoor setting I expect this place to be packed. The food is really good. I got the bacon, egg and cheese pita sandwich. It was very tasty. I am not a fan of mushrooms but these were really good. The flavor is amazing. I really liked it a lot. I will definitely come back. I want to try the French toast. Definitely a must try if you follow me. Great job Nikko Nikkos keep up the good work!

Came here because ddd was here. Prices are really reasonable and I love that they have all the outdoor seating in the park. Hercules plate - enough for two people plus leftovers. My husband loved the gyros. The souvlaki was a little tough and the chicken was okay. The pita was so tasty and fluffy. They also give you plenty of sauce. Baklava - this was okay, but super big. I've had better and the most prominent flavor was the sweet syrup. My friend liked it.

I placed an order online for what I thought was delivery it wasn't...and what made me extra upset is that they asked for tip like for what?

So yummy!! We stopped by during the craft festival and were not disappointed! Fast, nice service and yummy food! I got a half order of hummus, which was huge and came with pita, pita chips, bell pepper, cucumbers, and olives. My friend got the quesadilla and loved it as well!

Woah probably the best souvlaki sandwich I've ever had! The meat was juicy, flavorful, and tender!! Can't beat that! Definitely something to rave about since all the other souvlaki sandwiches I've had before have been very chewy, tasteless, or dry. The employees were super nice and gave us a bunch of chili sauce and taziki sauce. The small, outdoor park was very nice and cute too! The potatoes were okay!

Really cute and cozy outdoor spot in the heart of downtown! This is such a great place to get a quick lunch. There is plenty of outdoor seating at this location. The gyro sandwich is definitely a must-have! I get it every time, and the quality is always on point. The meat is always very juicy and tender while the pita bread is very warm and soft. They give you just the right amount of white sauce to finish off the sandwich. I am a big fan of this location, and I will be definitely coming back!

I've been here several times but haven't had the chance to review. I love this location at Market Square Park! All the cyclists are there and it's the perfect pit stop! So glad Niko Niko's second location is here. I hardly go to the Montrose location anymore because I hardly find myself there. But I have to get my gyro and lemon potatoes fix! Sooooo good and I can share with a friend along with the Greek salad! This is my staple dish that I will always come get! The service is so fast and the outdoor tables are perfect especially during Covid. There's always great decor and lighting out here especially now during Christmas!

This place is extremely heavy but it gives you a good bang for your buck. The park location is nice because there's always some sort of happening so you can grab your food and enjoy the atmosphere.

Took my Granddaughter for her first Gyro, and she loved it. Food as always, is great but after eating I asked Dimitrios Fetokakis, the owner if we could take a picture with him, and he said he would have his son take a picture of the three of us. Then he treated us to dessert. We already were fans and regular patrons but my granddaughter now will be as well.

Since Rudy won't answer the phone so i can thank him personally i'm just gonna yelp the hell outta that great customer service lol. He went beyond to make sure i had a decent end to the shiftiest day ever. Oh yeah....and the pita literally melted in my mouth!!!! Thanks for ur patience Big Rud ;)

We love Niko Niko's and really dig their gyro breakfast pita. We made an order this morning and added baklava to it. The baklava was rancid like it had been sitting on the shelf for months or else it was made with ingredients that were not fresh. Since we placed an order for delivery I couldn't really return it. If we could get a refund I wouldn't be posting this.

We usually go to the location in Market Square and they're always consistent with the order, but today our order was completely skewed. There were no tomatoes or onions included and the quantity by weight was was not as usual. I hope this is not going to be the trend going forward because I'd have to go to the Montrose location which is not very convenient for us

We love their chicken and rice soup and their Giro! We have been going there for over 10 years and not a bad meal yet.

It could've been better I can't say it's bad and I can say is very good it's OK maybe if you're around the neighborhood I don't know do you have so much potential they could be a lot better if they wanted to so I can't say it's bad it's it's it's good I guess

Came here off a whim for a Cigna nights event that was being held. I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I've been wanting to try niko nikos for a long time- byut was apprehensive about a food truck setting. This location did not disappoint! My husband ordered the cheeseburger, which was so good, he didn't even use condiments. I ordered the gyro plate w/chicken. DELICIOUS! Very large portions, so I recommend sharing. One star taken away bc they messed our order up initially, but were kind enough to correct it.

New things frighten and confuse me, like the time I threw my lucky red cap into the washing machine with my domestic partner Dolores Umbridge's then-all white clothing, and instead of her replacing it with new all white clothing she decided to rock the pink outfits every day of the week and not just the Plastic's day of choice: Wednesday. Just the same as adapting to that frightening and confusing sitch, the renovation of Market Square and the addition of this tasty food to downtown eating options has been an incredible improvement so much so, that I don't know how we lived without it in those dark times when you had to hop into the car and drive to Montrose on the days that you just REALLY needed a gyro. In the olde timey Market Square back when I worked for a law firm right there *points* I used to bring my Clif Bar and come eat in the park when I needed a break from work and/or people. Now that I work over there *points* this is still a great lunch spot and it is no more Clif Bar, now it is a big handsome gyro stuffed with meat. The worst thing I can say about this place is that they close at 8pm and as people who actually have work to do can relate, I almost never get to eat dinner here. Quittin' time is always after 8pm and its not worth taking a break at "dinner time" to stuff my face and then go back to work until midnight, what with the work slowdown associated with Niko's mediterranean/M.E. version of "the itis" after scarfing down a gyro in what seems like one bite, just so the nasty pigeon does not get too friendly with your food as you bang out some e-mail on your iPhone and temporarily take your eyes off of the gyro prize in front of you. The misters on the patio are a very welcome addition in the ridonckulous Houston summer heat, especially as I sit there still sweating from the gym as I wait for my dapper gyro wrapped in a silky smooth wrapper, accompanied by a plastic encased side cup of tzatziki. The tomatoes are fresh, there is enough onion there to make it count (unlike most people, I love onion and funyun flavored breath and awkward kissing on second date,) the pita is thick but fluffy, the meat is perfect and not overcooked, and the the tzatziki makes it all go down smoothly. For the new faces in the crowd: order at the window facing the misters/tables. Get a buzzer. Wait for delicious food to be made while you wait in the glory of the misters. When buzzer buzzes stand up and walk to the side window facing CharBar and Travis. Hand over buzzer, receive said delicious food. Pick up plastic fork package and napkins, then proceed to enjoy your treasure. Don't forget the NikoRita - a delicious frozen adult slurpee that cools you down on a warm day and makes the person you are with just a little more interesting, and a lot more attractive on the second NikoRita. I think the food is better here than at the original on Montrose, even including the hummus. It seems as if Niko himself has been reinvigorated by the expansion and has suddenly started to care again about presenting delicious and stunning food rather than the dreary and tired mindset that led to a decline in quality over time and an uptick in the "meh" mentality in the Montrose one.

This place has one of the best burgers. One of my favorite. Service is off the charts! Been multiple times and constantly impressed. Keep up the good work.

Located in Market Square Park, this little condensed version of the Montrose location offers a smaller menu, but still includes all of the most popular dishes. I generally just order a gyro sandwich. Not particularly adventurous, but it's so delicious and satisfying that I usually can't be tempted to order anything else. They also offer a variety of interesting coffee drinks, which are tasty. I was particularly grateful for this when I came to watch an outdoor screening of Love Actually in the park with a few friends. It was a good time, but it was cold, so a piping hot beverage was all I needed to make the night perfect.

Opening their first stand in 1977, Niko's has expanded to three locations and is the one of the historic pillars of the Houston restaurant world. In a city full of new and different, coming and goings, Niko's has been providing the same amazing food and family experience for over thirty years. And if you were wondering if I might be over-exaggerating a little bit, Guy Fieri saw fit to include Niko Niko's on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives "Legends of Texas Episode"

Great DT location. It has a nice outdoor set up & is dog friendly. Portions are huge. We ordered the village salad with gyro slices & the tabouli with gyro slices. The gyro meat is on point! Lots of flavor and tender. The pita bread was nicely done, soft, & warm. I love eating at Niko Niko's. Absolutely a great lunch spot. Their coffee is great too - strong, which I like; of course a personal preference. Definitely recommend it!

Niko Niko's is my best greek restaurant in Houston , I usually go to the main branch in Montrose.2 weeks ago I found this location on the downtown I stopped by and ordered as usual,but I was disappointed! The taste here is quite different from the main branch . If you want to try the real taste and have the real experience of Niko Niko's don't go here .

A sign of how great this place is--my favorite restaurant in Houston--is the fact that no matter how far they expand or how many locations they open, they stay completely packed to the gills all the time. I have the good fortune of living nearby their Montrose location, so when I go there and see a line that is longer than I want to wait through, I call them from the line and place my order for pickup. So when I get to the front of the line, my order is frequently ready and I just need to purchase my beverage. Works like a charm! For those who don't want to venture into Greek food, there are several menu items that will be familiar. The oven-roasted lemon chicken is succulent, as are the oven-roasted pork chops. Choosing which of three sides (French fries, rice, or oven-roasted lemon potatoes) becomes a more and more difficult decision after multiple visits, because all three are just so damn good!

I was touring the Historic District of Houston this weekend with a friend and came across one of Houston's many "pocket parks" but this one had the most delicious smell coming from it. I didn't want to stop my friend so we continued but I was hungry for that smell the next 24 hours. The very next day I took the metro back to the park and ordered a gyro sandwich. Some reviews here say it is 6 dollars. Mine was almost 9. But filled with meat and yogurt sauce, it was worth every cent. Also a nice location as long as it is not too hot to sit outside.

This is literally next door to my condo, smack dab in the middle of Market Square Park! It's a fast casual setting with plenty of Outdoor seating! The menu offers most of the full menu I'm accustomed to at the larger Niko Niko locations. The gyro is consistent and moist and flavorful! Even the burgers here demand some respect of the lamb turns you off! French Fries are meaty potatoes to fill even the biggest man up. I love sitting outside and enjoying the noise and view.. or just running to grab something to go. Definitely, worth a stroll or drive to.

I am originally from Chicago area, been looking for a good Gyro and I am happy to say I found a great Gyro. They make their own chips also. Go downtown, eat a Gyro & chips and people watch. Be aware all outdoor seating, many shade trees and misters. They serve breakfast, will be going back to try it soon. Give it chance, I think you will like it.

Cleanest most consistently good food in town. They're quality is not to be outdone. Every dish I have ordered has been tasty and succulent from every location. Can't go wrong from appetizers to desserts!

I was out for a little Sunday stroll and saw some folks gathered around this little building. I had NO idea this Niko Niko's stand was even here as it was obviously closed the last few months. Service was great, they even offered me a cup of ice water while I waited for my order. They give you a little buzzer so you can wander the park while you wait. I got the gyro sandwich with rice and it was absolutely perfect. So happy they're back open!!

Once in a while I get to wander into this part of Downtown, near University of Houston-Downtown. There's usually no place that I like in Downtown to chill on weekends, but this place is completely different. This Niko Niko's offers outdoor seating only, with a view of Downtown and since it's inside a tiny one block park, you get to be a bit near nature while sipping your coffee! I've always sat down by the fountain with my Iced Latte and enjoyed a couple moments of peace, since this is one of the only popular places that is not crowded on my days off. The seating area is partially covered with a grill ceiling that holds up the fans, and partially open to nature without any ceiling. Come here with friends, family, pets, whoever you fancy, you're bound to have a good time with some good food!

A neighbourhood classic. I have been coming here forever, and rarely and, I mean very rarely disappointed(once in decades) The service is friendly and fast. Although this is not fast food. Quality Greek food full menu. . Vegan vegetarian options. Ample parking. This place always a first choice even if just coffee and desserts, which are exceptionally done.

I have now officially declared my love for Niko Niko by coming twice in less than a week. I love this place because it has good coffee and also because of the surrounding! Such a nice place for a nice afternoon snack or coffee or late night or whatever the hell the time, it is in a perfect place. I got the white chocolate mocha & am about to try the mud pie frappe while typing this review ;) I will definitely try that food here soon as well! Update: yes i love the mudpie frappe! Do try it!

They have the perfect the location. They are located next to a dog park which was perfect for our little puppy. Unfortunately I was not impressed with any of the food. The lamb was dry and tzatziki sauce was bland. The pita bread was hard. The only thing I liked were the chips that came with the boxed lunch. There are so many better Greek places available.

The soup had vertically no rice and was warm not hot. The fries were under cooked and very oily. Th stuffed peppers first came out wrong. They went back and changed one out. But their was no flavor unfortunately. Sorry but this time ( the 3rd time) I had to write something . Things need to improve or you will lose loyal customers.

I've grown to really love Greekfast at Niko Nikos. I've had several of the pitas and they are all delicious. What I particularly love is that the eggs are always cooked perfectly. My favorite coffee is the Greek Honey Nut Latte. Yum! I eat the whipped cream first, before it melts.

This is The Breakfastr Place. I lived in Houston for over a 15 years and to this point can not find a better place for breakfast with such a super downtown view right in the middle of small piazza! Recommend. Ideal for "the first breakfast together

Best pita I have ever had. Melts in your mouth. The food and atmosphere were great. I wish they had a location in Dallas! I ate at two separate locations and both were delicious!
