Dropped a rider off around the corner and felt my stomach growling. Came in for BBQ but when I saw catfish on the menu, I shifted gears immediately. With collard greens & coleslaw & a massive pice of garlic toast. The vibe is family style restaurant and the decor doesn't - thankfully - follow the trend of bare wood, metal & country music. In fact, the tunes, pleasantly in the background, we're 60s & 70s pop and R & B. Service was quick & professional. Food was solid and in plentiful portions. Huge catfish filet with cornmeal breading was crispy outside, tender inside. Collard greens were a big portion and flavorful. Be careful, I found a bone. Slaw was tasty. Nothing stood out, but I wouldn't say no to a return trip.

They were awesome people there. Very nice friendly, polite. Food was served in HUGE PORTIONS! I WAS AMAZED.

Hadn't been here in almost 30 years, it didn't disappoint. The ambience and food was very good. We all enjoyed the Christmas celebration.

Michele the server is excellent. Ask for her. Very attentive and knowledgeable. I love going there when she's there. It's not always often you get Great service everywhere but Michele makes it so pleasant. I appreciate great service. Thank you for your service

Every bite left us wanting more, and the balance of textures and tastes was perfection. The shimp, ribs, and cod combo was my favorite! Made a special trip while visiting Metro Detroit area. Service was somewhat slow although I'd arrived at the wind down of a bus load of people. The food and portions were fantastic. The broasted chicken was fulfilling and juicy as I remembered.

My three friends and I picked this place to meet up for our Christmas luncheon. Waitress services was quick especially due to few large groups ahead of us. Each of ordered a variety of food ( catfish, BB ribs, chicken & wings). Large plump wings served . Bland in taste but fried crispy. Sweet potatoes bland lacked spice cinnamon nutmeg and butter. Coleslaw finely grated and tasty. My bread was literally brunt so I had to send it back! Overall Nikola remain a good atmosphere for family, friends gatherings. No time limit set to eat and go... as many resturants are now posting on their menus. So we had unlimited time to spend laughing talking and gift sharing!
