The 16 Best Restaurants & Bars On Beacon Hill

"The takeout operation in here is really fast, but we prefer sitting down at Nikos at a table with a covering that looks like fine blue china. They make some excellent avgolemono (chicken and rice stew), and it’s even better with a squeeze of lemon. We like to order it alongside a lamb gyro stuffed with tzatziki and feta." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The Best Soup In Seattle

"If you’re in the mood for chicken soup but want something a lot heartier, check out the avgolemono at Nikos Gyros. It’s thick, lemony, and has a terrific broth-to-rice-to-chicken ratio. We like eating it at a comfortable table with a hot side of pita, but we don’t blame you if you get it to-go and drink it like coffee in your car." - aimee rizzo

Restaurants That Are Extremely Close To Light Rail Stops For When You’ve Had Enough Of The Rain

"Beacon Hill Station If you’re reading this guide, we’re going to go ahead and guess that you might be in the mood for hot soup. Niko’s makes some pretty excellent avgolemono (chicken and rice stew), and it’s even better with a squeeze of lemon. If you add on a lamb gyro sandwich stuffed with tzatziki and feta, we don’t blame you if you never want to go outside again." - aimee rizzo

Google
My brother and I stopped here after googling and looking to have a quick bite. This place was awesome food was great and well priced had the gyro and falafel both again amazing hot and fresh. Inside is nice and staff was friendly looking to come back next time visiting Seattle

Nathan Duma

Google
The food was alright but pricey for what you get. The salad was fresh. I was hoping there would be more meat given the $6.50 upcharge. The staff is really nice and chill. Ordering and picking up online was quick and easy. There were no utensils in the bag even though they were requested.

Kimberly Allen

Google
Great food, low key atmosphere, a block away from the beacon hill station. I will definitely be going back.

Google
I am always optimistic when trying new Gyro places and often times let down. This place was nothing short of spectacular. They put their own twist on their meats and you can tell they don’t half ass it. It’s not the typical Kronos meat that every downtown street vendor pushes off as house-made. Highly recommended! Parking was a little tricky but doable.

Jackson Borek

Google
Pretty disappointed with this place. Gyros had 3 preformed pieces of meat as mentioned in other reviews, and no lettuce. Greek fries as pictured had barely any topping, basically just regular fries. Not bad tasting but there are way better gyro places in Seattle.

Google
I had been meaning to visit Niko’s Gyros for quite some time and finally did so during the Seattle Restaurant Week. I called in an order for two gyros, Greek fries, and a cup of the avgolemono soup to go. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and a joy to talk to and was very helpful in describing the different Restaurant Week options for lunch. Everything I had was delicious. The avgolemono soup had a nice puree of chicken and lemon and the grains of rice were a nice texture in the soup. The flavor was bright and savory. Overall, the gyros were my favorite part of the meal. I ordered a chicken and a lamb leg gyro. They said they had three options for the lamb – a beef/lamb mix, lamb leg – chunks of lamb, and slices of lamb. The chicken was cut up in large cubes and full of flavor along with the tomatoes, red onions, and sauce. The lamb chunks were just a delicious with a nice char on them as well. I really enjoyed the food at Niko’s Gyros and will need to return soon!

Google
I ordered the chicken gyro plate as takeout. It came with fries and a side salad. Star was lost because the sandwich was too wet and chicken was not marinated in advance. The fries were crispy and they were sprinkled with cheese, a very nice surprise. The veggies were all fresh and the dressing delicious. Definitely place to procure a quick lunch.

Google
Had the roast lamb gyro because I haven't seen it at any other place before. I was the only customer at 5pm on a Wednesday. The order came out quickly. Food and portion were good. As I was leaving, I noticed that there was a specials menu for the day. Didn't see it on my way in, otherwise I would have tried one of the specials. I will have to go back.

Yelp
First things first: THEY SELL HALVAH! Amazing. Delicious. Gyros are very well priced, great price, a liiiitle salty, but really solid and definitely still satisfies a gyro craving. Very Kind person/people in there. I asked for extra onions and they gave me an entire plastic cup full of onions!! I ate every single one them. Thank you! I'll be back. Excited to try more stuff from there.

Yelp
Really good casual spot that I'd say is one of the best Greek restaurants in the city. I got the lamb bowl and it was so delicious. Usually places have the beef/lamb gyro meat which this place also has and I do enjoy that but this place also has just roasted lamb and it went really well with everything. If you are a fan of the taste of lamb you will like this protein option and I wish more places offered it. The bowl came with lots of grilled vegetables like broccoli, squash, and peppers and I really liked that. Grilled vegetables are always delicious and it is nice when places offer something like that instead of simply a small side salad. They did not skimp on the tzatziki which I appreciated and the rice was great to absorb all the flavor from everything else. I have not had the gyros here and I do really enjoy gyros as well but I really liked the bowl I got as it was different than most spots and I would definitely return.

Yelp
They did the most incredible job catering my work event. Jt was a huge hit; everyone asked where the delicious food came from. Even the vegans had many food options! I was surprised by how delicious the zucchini fries were. I enjoyed the falafel, chicken, and salmon, as well as the Greek salad and gigantes. Both the hummus and baba ghanoush were so good, with high quality pita on the side. Baklava = amazing. I look forward to returning many times! Service was also impeccable.

Yelp
My new favorite place for a quite bite in the area! We came back the next day to order more! Really enjoyed the gyros here. It included onions, feta, tomatoes, and the meat, of course. They slather as much feta on those gyros as I slather cream cheese on my bagel and this is the energy I need in my life. Traditionally I love lettuce on my gyros as well but the onions and tomato add that bit of freshness I love so much. The meat was generous and was so amazing, seasoned, and tender. My order was always ready for pick up when I arrived with never any wait. We haven't dined in but the restaurant is much bigger than I thought it would be and seems like a great place to sit down to enjoy the food. Recommended this place to some friends and they loved it as well. Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Local gem. Great food. Attentive, kind, and caring service. Consistent quality. Fair prices. I eat here a few times a month. It's one of my favorite local spots. The halloumi gyro special is amazing. The avgolemono soup is perfect in the winter. Dolmadas and spanakopita are favorite appetizers. 10/10 recommend to everyone. There isn't a website or online menu. Call ahead to order to go.
google avatar

Edmel R.

Yelp
Great local spot! I love a dolma and theirs were flavorful and refreshing. I also got the beef lamb gyro! It had a lot of feta cheese which I don't usually complain about but really powered over the meat flavor. It was a little dry, I suggest getting some tzatziki. Overall, delicious place to grab a bite while in the area. Lots of seating and pleasant folks. Food came out within 10 min of ordering. I did order 2 gyros, fries and dolmas for $35. Not much parking as it's a busy area, so I suggest taking the link!

Yelp
I always take to go. Food here is the Bomb.com Friendly service staff. I'll be back again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
Mediterranean food for people on a budget who aren't particular about quality. Ordered the Greek salad with chicken which was ok. Also the falafel with hummus was ok too. Unfortunately the pita bread was terrible. You decide, does the pita bread matter to you?
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
best of the best. have enjoyed many meals here over the years and the staff and food are top notch. i would recommend nikos to any of my family or friends. try the gyro plate and ask for special sauce
google avatar

Kim B.

Yelp
Great food. Lamb gyros were great, along with the Greek fries and Greek salad. They are very friendly and the service was outstanding.
google avatar

Lounge G.

Yelp
Not great. Won't be back. The staff is very attentive and there is nice, ample seating and lots of light from the south-facing windows. The food, however, was just edible. The Gyro was on the small side, not enough sauce and the pita was stale. The Greek fries barely had any seasoning or feta and they were also stale. The Greek salad had no flavor. The small sprinkling of feta on it had no flavor. The dressing was also flavorless and lacking vinegar and had a weird taste to it ressembling mustard (?). They need to taste their food.
google avatar

Coco B.

Yelp
My husband and I shared the special halloumi Gyro and chicken bowl. They were both so delicious. I came back the next day for more! Healthy, fresh, and satisfying!
google avatar

Tracie E.

Yelp
First time here and was greeted by pleasant staff. I ordered a falafel gyro and it was delicious, I definitely plan to return.

Shannon H.

Yelp
Food is solid/below average depending on what you get so it keeps three stars bc I would recommend with that qualifier. Be sure to check your orders if picking up, it was disappointing to get through a full meal excited for two orders of baklava to open and see pita. We did try it and I would not recommend the pita. It wasn't busy inside or for to go orders so I'm not sure what happened. Also, be hesitant to order through Yelp, as the only way to get support is by making a phone call whereas DoorDash you can list incorrect/missing items which I wish I could do since we didn't get items we paid for. Will not order through Yelp (GrubHub be extension ever again)

Yelp
Stopped in on a whim for a lamb gyro. It was savory and delicious. Ate it outside in the sun on the small patio tables with chairs. Service was fine. Be sure try the Anise after dinner mints, mild and a perfect palette cleanser.

Yelp
We were so blown away by this spot.., it reminded me of the great Greek food I had while growing up in Chicago (a big Greek community and a very sweet Greek next door neighbor). The person answering the phone was super friendly, she let us order over the phone to minimize our time in the restaurant and the door was open. (We have two kiddos that are high risk for COVID so have been careful). We ordered a salmon gyro, falafel gyro, and traditional gyro. All were fantastic and although salmon isn't traditional our picky eater who really loves salmon was happy. The traditional gyro was great, I wish they made it a wee bit thinner like home but minimal complaints. The star of our meal was the gigante beans, Avgolemono Soup, and roasted lamb bowl. The beans were so tender and in a vibrant tomato dill sauce.. I could have happily just had this for dinner... so good! The soup was wonderful too, some versions I've had make this really heavy this wasn't and enjoyable despite the day being warm. The roast lamb bowl was my husband's favorite and it was fantastic in his words (and made him not feel guilty since he loves to be careful with his carbs ). Quite looking forward to adding this to our dinner rotation!

Yelp
This was surprisingly really good. Stopped here on our way to the light rail and got food to go. The rice bowl was perfect for me! Veggies, rice, meats, white sauce (I couldn't exactly tell what it was but it was good), lots of flavor and for a reasonable price. Seems like a hidden gem as it was not busy at all when we went around 6pm. We will probably come here again!
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
Got the falafel..... pretty sad. Where do you get your falafel balls? Sysco foods? Hmmmmmmmmm

Christine B.

Yelp
Weird fat piece that is unidentifiable and the food was so insanely salty that I had to drench it in hummus just to make it edible.

Yelp
BEST GYRO IN SEATTLE! Holy moly. I saw Nikos Gyros on Yelp and the menu looked legit, like what they would serve at an actual Greek spot, with items like mousaka and avgolemono soup. And gyros with not just the standard beef and lamb gyro meat or chicken, but leg of lamb and roasted lamb! I told my bestie about it who lives walking distance from the place and he said I just had to try it for myself. I ventured out to north Beacon Hill for a much-needed break from WFH, and ordered takeout from Nikos Gyros. I ordered the roasted lamb gyro and Greek fries. Because of the outbreak, they ask that after you order at the counter inside the shop, you wait outside where an employee will hand you your takeout. It didn't take long to get my order. Okay, so I drove back to Bellevue to chow down, so as you can expect, the fries were wilted down because everyone knows that you have to eat fries soon after they're fried. But whatever. They were fine. I don't even care that much because the roasted lamb gyro was AMAZZZEEEBALLLZZ! This is the best gyro I've ever had! First of all, the gyro was packed with roasted lamb, which was dripping from the natural juices of the perfectly cooked lamb. I also love that this gyro did not have any fuss from the typical lettuce that's on most gyros, but just red onion, tomato slices and tzatziki, which is the only toppings you need on this baby, because the meat is the winner here. ROASTED LAMB FOR THE WIN. I am telling you, you have to get this gyro! I had it yesterday and I already want another. I'm looking forward to dining here though when the outbreak is finally over, as they have a nice seating area inside. The menu is straightforward with gyros, bowls, entrees and Greek sodas! It's also walking distance to much of the businesses on north Beacon Hill. Thank you whoever you are Nikos!

Yelp
Lamb Beef Gyro was pretty measly. Meat was tasty but for $12.50 (including 20% tip cause the front gal was friendly) I was very underwhelmed. No lettuce, no cucumbers, no noticeable tzatziki sauce. Just made up of meat a few tomatoes and a little sprinkle of feta. Not worth the price in my opinion, I don't plan on coming back.
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
Nice and quick service restaurant that serves great Greek food. The gyro meat tasted great, but was disappointed it was only onions, couple tomato slices and feta cheese. Would be a lot better with lettuce and cucumbers and tzatziki like lost gyro places. Also was slightly disappointed with the size. For $10 I expected a bigger portion. I may return since there's not many Greek options in the area, but there's definitely better in Seattle.
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
Menu is fairly simplistic - pick your protein in a form of a bowl, skewers, gyros, or plate. Variety of side items to choose from. I tried the Bowls with Chicken and Lamb Leg ($13 each) and the Spanakopita ($3 for a small one). I LOVED the feta and tzatziki sauce mixed with the rice (it was orzo-like), and the bowls also came with plenty of yummy roasted veggies (Broccoli, peppers, zucchini, onions). The meat was VERY lean, for people who are into that (I like more fat all around but that is just a preference thing) and there was a decent amount of protein. Spanakopita was fine - not sure it was homemade, but it was a small triangle of flaky warm filo around a spinach mixture. Food was ready super quickly (15 mins) when we ordered off the phone. They sell a number of Greek items inside the store as well. Totally forgot to get a pic this time :(
google avatar

Edward G.

Yelp
I live next door and order take out a few times a week. Always great food and quick service. I usually get the gyro and hummus appetizer, excellent.
google avatar

Fiona S.

Yelp
Disappointing. Ordered a combo and it was terrible. The "Greek" salad was mostly romaine lettuce, instead of chunks of cucumber and tomato. Throwing feta cheese on top of greens doesn't make this a Greek salad. The chicken gyro had blocks of stale reheated chicken. And fries? Where's the rice? Felt like a rip off for almost 18 dollars. Don't recommend
google avatar

Marco C.

Yelp
Nice little place, nothing fancy about it. Lamb was a little chewy. Soup was good and spanakopita was the best thing on the menu.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Not very flavorful.... Quite expensive for the food with no flavor, I ordered the chicken combo with the Greek fried and side salad. Won't be back
google avatar

Yelp
Gyros are my favorite food in the world. I wanted this place to be the best. It's just a few blocks from me. I've tried so many everywhere I go and these were just okay. Unfortunately this is an example of a yelp over rating. Nikos is good enough to satisfy a gyro craving, but not something that would you would crave. I tried additional menu items as well. Gyro: 3/5 I'm not sure why they need so many options other than lamb/ beef and a falafel. I think it's better to perfect just a few items and then have a ton of different ones. -The bread on the gyro is great and the falafel's are flavorful. Unfortunately the lamb is not the spicket sort where it is shaved and has a delicious char. It's mixed with beef into a small patty formations and a few were put on each sandwich. The meat looks like it was made somewhere else and then sold here to be put on your sandwich, not very authentic. -Tzatziki sauce was decent but kind of bland no cucumber, dill or lemon flavor. I like my tzatziki when I make it at home to have a ton flavor with plenty of dill and lemon zest and juice. -The positive of the gyro is that it had no french fries or hot sauce but it was missing red onion. Greek fries: 0/5 Only bland soft fries w feta. Would not order again. Falafel: 4/5 if I go back I would probably order this gyro instead they had more flavor than the meat. Spanakopita: 1/5 Sorry, but hell to the no. Was not layered w phyllo dough. I had one piece of dough at top and one piece of dough on the bottom and some half inch of cheese and spinach in between. Not crunchy, not flaky, not well seasoned, or full of herbs. I'm not even Greek and when I make this from scratch at home it looks and tastes much better. Still on my hunt for great Seattle Greek food. If you have any recommendations let me know!
google avatar

Cyndi C.

Yelp
This review is just for Lunch. I rode my bike over for a quick take-out lunch during wfh Covid times. You place an order at the counter, tap you credit card, then wait outside the restaurant. The lunch was brought out pretty quickly in a cute white bag. More than fair prices, I had Lamb/beef gyro and Greek fries. Fantastic. The spiced meat, buttery pita, and the Sauce are amazing on this sandwich. The Fries also had extra touch of perfect Greek spices and feta cheese. These lil touches Make the Meal! Crazy how other Gyro spots won't grill their pita for a min or add any zest, Nikkos has small loving touches that I noticed and appreciated! Will be back to try Roast Lamb and some traditional dinner items another time!
google avatar

Phillip A.

Yelp
It's mostly a grab and go kind of spot. The food tastes fresh and light, and the portions are well sized for a single meal. Nothing really knocked my socks off eating there though. They cut a couple corners with steamed vegetables that I could have done without and rice that I'm not sure is fully from scratch. Overall, a good place in the neighborhood for a different kind of bite.

Heidi H.

Yelp
A wonderful Greek treasure Two minute walk from the Beacon Hill LR Station $20 for a gyro, fries and salad - can't be beat for the taste or price Baklava was excellent & perfectly moist & flavorful Owners are people who grew up in the food business - know how to do it right

Yelp
Delicious!! I wanted to try something new and I'm glad I found this place. I ordered a chicken geek salad and a lamb gyro and was blown away. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. My salad had amazing veggies and taste. You could tell they use premium veggies/meats. Looking forward to going back.

Steven B.

Yelp
Fabulous authentic Gyros. I love the lamb. The portions are generous and extremely tasty.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Gyro was alright but I think there is way better in this city. Avgolemono soup was okay but not something I'd return for.

Jaden J.

Yelp
Best Gyros I've had in Seattle! The staff was really nice and the portions were huge, I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. Location was great right on the water, and it wasn't overly busy so we got the food quick. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
Guys...this place is awesome. Everything here is great and they have a huge selection of Greek dishes to boot. Service is friendly and efficient. There is also outdoor seating, which is nice. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is the bathroom is like a broom closet. I know this place does well, it's always busy, so why not invest and offer patrons a decent restroom?
google avatar

Morgan R.

Yelp
I've been a long-time patron of Nikos in Magnolia - and was glad to see this restaurant open up in Beacon Hill near the light rail stop. The bowls, a new creation featuring rice, grilled vegetables, and your choice of protein on top are a great innovation, and what we usually get. The atmosphere is less of a family affair than Magnolia, and less welcoming as a result (even though the staff is friendly). The grilled chicken is as good as ever, the roast lamb slices a little disappointing, the felafel good. Still a great place to get a gyro, but the traditional platters (chicken or lamb souvlaki with salad, Greek fries and feta) ... that's what I loved at Magnolia -- but not here.
google avatar

Dawn A.

Yelp
I took only a few bites of my gyro and had to run to write a review. So good!! Such friendly service and delicious, affordable options!
google avatar

Carolyn J.

Yelp
We came after week of their opening. It's all good! Spacious, clean and quick service, without feeling hurried. I'm afraid it'll get real popular. So brace yourselves neighbors another spot to eat in Beacon Hill. Great small menu, we had the bowls and gyro. Fresh, chock full of lamb and veggies . I love the chicken lemon soup, comforting on a rainy night. The eggplant dip was yummy and smoky. This went well with our Greek wine, yes yelpers, Greek wine! Not everyone has Greek wine so go take a sip! I'm coming back especially when the other places in the hood are packed, good for families!
google avatar

Denise K.

Yelp
Ordered takeout a couple of times as well as dined in, and every time, the food and service has been great! Even takeout, if both hands are fully they'll walk you out and open the door for you. Superb food and gyros!
google avatar

Judy R.

Yelp
This is a smaller version of the great Nikos in Magnolia. The Menu is much smaller. I like the salad with lamb and the rice bowls are great. Hot pita bread served with most dishes is delicious. For a small restaurant it a good choice for tasty food.
google avatar

S A.

Yelp
This place is a gem. It's casual, sweet and authentic. There are healthy and yummy food options. Had a beef gyro that hit the spot.
google avatar

Christy P.

Yelp
5 stars for speed and convenience! My sis and I were starving and needed a place where we could order and eat within 20 minutes. Nikos came through with our order ready in 10 and boy was it yum. The solid meat style instead of chopped was interesting. I'd def come back again to try their other flavors. Fries were also good.

Kat K.

Yelp
Went here the other day to try it out and brought my husband back a couple of days later. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff was awesome. He brought out a bowl of water for our dog and pointed out where we could get hot sauce and other items when we placed our order. This is a neighborhood gem and I really hope it sticks around! Beacon Hill is finally getting more small, great, businesses!
google avatar

Cayley C.

Yelp
This is the brother restaurant to the one in Magnolia. We've always loved that place, but now that we are in west Seattle it's further away. We were happy to find this right by the transit center in Beacon Hill. The food was just as good as the Magnolia location, they have just streamlined the menu and added a few things. I love the chicken and my husband the lamb/beef gyro. You can buy the salad dressing too. They now have a bowl option where you can get a protein, veggie and rice. I always get extra tzatziki and use it on my salad. So happy this local, family restaurant expanded.
google avatar

Tracy P.

Yelp
Delicious gyro when you're on the go! I was hungry and in a pinch when I decided to order a beef/lamb gyro from here. Thankfully, my order was ready within 10 minutes. The gyro itself was fresh and flavorful. There aren't many gyro places in this area so it's nice to have this option in the neighborhood!
google avatar

Myke S.

Yelp
The single worst gyro I've ever had. We ordered two lamb and took them home. Upon opening them we discovered a saucy mess that didn't even resemble a gyro sandwich. Both pitas were soaked and falling apart, a couple sorry tomato slices, and a glob of tzatziki at one end. The meat didn't even look or taste like lamb.. more like shredded beef with a gamey aftertaste. I took one bite before snapping the picture, but it's what it looked like when we opened. Really wanted to like this place but that's not even worth a second chance.
google avatar

Catherine C.

Yelp
The food is well prepared, fresh, and quickly prepared. The staff (many are family) are friendly and helpful. Delicious Greek specialties!

Evan R.

Yelp
You should check this out. This is a litteraly on the same block of beacon hill station. The people were very nice there and had very good gyro. 100% reccomend.
