The 12 Best Restaurants In Beacon, New York - Hudson Valley - The Infatuation

"Eating at Nifuler’s Home Kitchen feels like being wrapped in a cocoon of soft, warm blankets. As soon as you sit down inside the bright orange and blue painted dining room, the owner will ask you what you know about Turkish cuisine, then rattle off recommendations for powerful pots of black tea, seeded simit bread rings, and baklava and flaky tahini twists. The small dining room has homemade fiber art dotting the walls, and the dishes come out on kaleidoscopic painted plates and bowls. Get the full Turkish breakfast (that comes with unlimited tea) so you can taste a little bit of everything. If you don’t want to commit to the full spread though, we also love the lamb sandwich filled with tender, spiced meat." - anne cruz

My friend and I enjoyed a wonderfully delicious lunch here. The staff were very kind, and the owner herself served us—she was incredibly warm and friendly. The Turkish food was truly authentic. While we were eating, a Turkish couple sitting next to us, who live in New Jersey, told us they come here often because it tastes just like home. They were so sweet and even recommended their favorite dishes to us. We also took a photo with the owner. Her son was helping in the kitchen, and I asked him to take the picture—turns out he’s actually a photographer! Such a funny coincidence! A gentleman at the neighboring table saw us having fun with the photos and joined in as well. Overall, this meal made us so happy. It made us curious why everyone in this little town is so friendly! Highly, highly recommend visiting. The town is beautiful, cozy, and perfect for a stroll.

Loved everything about this place! We had the Turkish breakfast and the cilbir (delicious!!!) poached eggs. The sahlep Turkish drink also turned out to be quite tasty (almost like an Indian rice pudding -paiysam- but thinner). Overall - wished this place was closer to home!

I rarely leave bad reviews since I am a big foodie, especially being middle eastern and south asian myself. I was very excited to try this place with my husband since it is Turkish owned, and I have such a strong profound love for my Istanbul. However, this is the worst breakfast spot to have an authentic taste of Turkish cuisine. It is firstly and most importantly targeted towards the white American folks with the food portion being so small and charging me 25 dollars for a single breakfast combo for one -- with hardly any bread, and random stuff added onto the plate that is very comedic. I make this breakfast at home with much more love and generosity. They are truly ripping people off with the food portion. I have to pay 10 dollars for turkish coffee with milk.... like wow i am actually laughing at the idiocy of this. This is complete rip off. Food was not that good and such little portions for twice the money. I had to go next door to bread and company and grab a delicious meal for half of what these people are charging. Secondly, the waitress or owner from turkey is completely rude, she has no sense of hospitality. In our culture hospitality is huge and it seems like she is racist towards her own people and other muslim folks. She does a complete 360 with her attitude when it comes to white people -- not surprised since thats where all her profit is coming from. We have never felt so unwelcomed in such a place. I will say the decor and aesthetic is very lovely and has a homey feel to it but that is all good to say. This place is such an embarassment to turkish culture and people. In turkey I can get a much cheaper fulfilling and delicious breakfast. Very disappointing will never be coming here again nor will i want to. I have told this to multiple friends and posted it in the turkish / and muslim community pages. What a shame!!!! Zaitun in that area is palestinian owned restauarant, yes they are a bit expensive but the food and hospitality is amazing!!!!! would rather go there.

Being here took me back to Istanbul and all the sweet memories of getting married and reuniting with family. The lamb sandwich and the halloumi cheese were all delicious, and a pot of tea at the end made me feel like I was at grandma's house.

Google
I’ve been going to Nilufer’s Home Kitchen for about a year now, and it’s one of my favorite spots in Beacon. Nilufer always greets me with a smile and remembers my order, which makes every visit feel personal. She, her sister, and her husband create such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It feels like you’re eating in someone’s home. The food is made with care, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. Everything on the menu is delicious, but my personal favorites are the kofta platter and the spring rolls. Whenever friends or family come to visit, I always bring them here, and everyone leaves happy. It’s a place you can count on for great food and even better people.

Google
I rarely give out five stars but this gem of an establishment deserves the red carpet. The Turkish Breakfast is an amazing spread, a never ending roll out of dishes! I had an omelet which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is authentic and genuine as are the wonderful women preparing and setting the food. Don’t pass on the Apple Tea!!! You can tell they are proud of and enjoy sharing their culture. We will bed back!

Google
Such incredible authentic food, like the most perfect little gem of a place to eat before or after visiting the Dia Beacon! Owner was SO kind, I felt like I was in her dining room and all the decor was so cool! Especially love that you can seen into the kitchen! The Cilbir was divine

Yelp
Unbelievable. No hype in simply summarizing the restaurant as a terrific experience. There are no reservations, so you would be wise to have someone willing to wait out an opening while the rest of your group visit the nice local shops. The Turkish spices and skillfully prepared dishes, as well as the beautiful Turkish plates, bowls, teapots and cloths made for a unique and memorable experience. The owner is a gem of a human being. We loved her immediately and it appeared that the baby in our group immediately adopted her into our family. Lovely. Highly recommended.

Yelp
This was a delightful surprise! Seriously spectacular ambiance. Incredible food! Just authentic, homemade, warm and tasty. I would come every day if we didn't live in Denver. We had the Turkish coffee, sahlep, kafta platters, and the chicken sandwich. Great service. Go enjoy and be transported to your Turkish family's kitchen!

Yelp
Five stars due to the delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with artifacts from the homeland. My daughter and I ordered the Turkish Breakfast, halloumi cheese sandwich and Turkish Tea. I was so surprised by the amount of food we received for the breakfast..l.so many small delicious dishes. The halloumi was a delight, like a panini with olive tapenade. Absolutely wonderful! I lived the Turkish tea, which had a whiff of sweetness and was served in a pot over a warming flame. Words can't do this justice. You must go and try it for yourself.

Yelp
This place is a GEM! The food was superb. I had never had traditional Turkish food but I love going to Beacon, we were looking for something new and I saw good reviews so it was a no brainer. I was with some friends and they were all pretty impressed and complimented me for choosing this place. We tried the breakfast for 2 and another dish that I feel sad I do not remember but it was eggs in some sauce and my friend basically absorbed it - that good. The whole spread was delicious and oh so worth the price! You can choose how you want your eggs, but we decided to follow the owners recommendation and although I am a picky eater with tomatoes on my eggs it was just flavorful. The portions, the presentation, the bread, the cheese, the tea... everything was 10/10. The place is small and cozy, groups could feel too close to each other so it's up to you. We chose a corner table so we felt comfortable. They also have bread to go, and items for sale. The service was excellent. Very much a homey vibe and family style.

I felt right at home here. Everything made with so much care. Every dish/ingredient and smile was authentic. I loved the chef and all the turkish staples she produces in her kitchen. Even better that it is sll done in front of you! Cant wait to come back

Yelp
Transcendentally perfect: menu, food, service. No complaints. Tempted to move to Beacon just so I can go there frequently.

Yelp
Very lovely little Turkish place. Got a couple pastries and they were all delicious. Very friendly staff and such a cute vibe. The almond cookie was delicious!

Yelp
Fun, authentic and delicious. The chef is funny and warm and talks to you at the table!

Yelp
Omigosh yes. I almost don't want to post this because it's small and I don't want people taking my spot for an amazing Turkish breakfast. I love the vibe, the food, and the service....all as if your incredible Turkish relatives invited you over and said, "My aunt is a professional chef, sit down, relax, and we will take care of you for the morning." Turkish friends of ours (also locals) brought us, and were crowing about how authentic and perfect everything was. So yes, Beacon. This is your new best brunch spot in town. There, I said it.

Yelp
26 Oct 2034: after visiting Dia Beacon. The restroom is gender neutral and have a colorful seat. It seems that everyone orders the Turkish breakfast so we ordered the one for two persons. Water with lemon is on the top of the dessert counter and you just help yourself as their business is incredibly good and it is runny three ladies. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table which we had to share. When you are done just pay at the counter. There were over 15 items in the Turkish breakfast, probably more because I lost count!

Yelp
Best new addition to town. Really cute, excellent fresh food, lovely owner. I had the omelette, so delicious.

Yelp
We recently have traveled to Beacon for a weekend getaway. We stumbled upon this Turkish breakfast place and were pleasantly impressed with the owners and the delicious food. Everyone was very friendly and the food was beyond authentic. Highly recommend. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
A welcome diverse addition to Main Street Beacon. Its intimate so call ahead and as word speeds it will fill up fast. Only 5 tables and capacity for 18. Tea was very tasty. Turkish coffee is small and packs a punch. If you aren't used to it look it up first. The breakfast was excellent - the meat combo with eggs was very good. Both come with salad. You can tell it's 100% fresh and homemade. Friendly & conscientious service - the owner has been local for years.

Yelp
Beacon, NY's newest, and most delicious, eatery brings to the table the Turkish breakfast at its finest. A delightful menu of baked goods, sandwiches, salads and more are an excellent addition to the Hudson Valley's famed restaurant experience. A charmingly decorated space with a swirl of bright colors add to the uplifting dining atmosphere. A must stop during your Beacon visit!

Yelp
Great, authentic food and excellent service! It's beautiful and cozy inside and the dinnerware is gorgeous!

Melly P.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly staff! This is a lovely spot in Beacon to feel at home while eating delicious food. The Turkish breakfast for 2 + 3 lentil soups was perfect for 3 people, both in volume and variety.

Yelp
We had a lovely breakfast at this spot! Great Turkish coffee, delicious food (the herb omelet, while simple, was excellent, and the menemen was warming and cozy on a chilly morning), and the service was warm and attentive, without being overbearing. Our server, Addison, was very kind and managed well as the place started getting busier. Should we find ourselves in this area again, I'm sure we will return.

Yelp
This is an amazing, cozy, delicious, friendly little spot! A must-try for the unique cultural experience of delicious Turkish cuisine in the Hudson Valley!

Allison W.

Yelp
Excellent! We ordered the Turkish breakfast and orchid tea Sahlep and everything with incredible, beautiful, thoughtful, and delicious. A wonderful eating experience I recommend wholly! The sahlep was thick and creamy and sweet like condensed milk- we didn't expect that at all and loved it!

Peyman R.

Yelp
Coziest lunch spot in town! Delicious homestyle food, not like your typical main street fare. The owner truly cares about her business and guest experience, it's a gem of a place!

Yelp
Every aspect of our experience was first rate. The service was charming. The seating was quaint and comfortable. Most importantly, all of the food we had was delicious. Advice: Treat yourself to an immersive experience with the Turkish breakfast. We will definitely return.

Naz N.

Yelp
Came here with friends for brunch. The Turkish breakfast was excellent, as was the cilbir and a variety of sandwiches we ordered. We also enjoyed the Turkish tea & coffee. Service was excellent and friendly, and the ambiance is cute - as if you're dining in a friend's home. Loved this.

Yelp
A pretty and comfortable place filled with the chef/owners art. The food is fresh and delicious. The Turkish breakfast is a delight. with many small dishes including turkish omelet, sausage, cheeses, bread/pastry basket, olives, turkish salad, fresh fruit, numerous condiments and delicious Turkish tea. Everything is home-made. The breakfast is served all day long. Get it for 2. It is very reasonable and filling. All in all a unique experience and highly recommended.
