"The weekend brunch (Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at this hyperlocal American restaurant in Logan Circle has plenty of outdoor seating. Opt for a “chef’s choice” ($39 per person) to sample a variety of dishes, or go with a la carte options like eggs Benedict topped with braised short rib." - Tierney Plumb, Eater Staff
"Nina May will offer a special menu only available on New Year’s Eve. The spread retails for $100 per person and is served family style. Highlights include scallop carpaccio with winter citrus, dry aged prime rib, and basque cheesecake. Make reservations here." - Vinciane Ngomsi
"Chef and owner Colin McClimans and owner/beverage director Danilo Simic will be offering multiple Thanksgiving dine-in and to-go options at Opal, Nina May, and the soon to be opened Elena James in Chevy Chase. Both Opal and Nina May will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. At Nina May, a chef’s choice menu will be served family style. Meanwhile at Opal, a three-course prix fixe menu is available, with additional add ons, starters, and sides." - Vinciane Ngomsi
"The Logan Circle restaurant is celebrating five years of hyper local, seasonal menus by bringing back the chef’s choice menu, previously known as the “Family Meal” prix fixe, that was in place when the first location of Nina May opened in 2019. For one week, from November 1-8, diners can opt in for the experience of having chef and owner Colin McClimans send out dishes he’s chosen until you’re ready to ask for dessert. Lots of regulars’ favorite dishes will make an appearance, including onion rings with smoked carrot mustard, roasted spaghetti squash and molasses bread, and crispy Maryland porchetta. 1337 11th St NW" - Emily Venezky
"Owner and beverage director Danilo Simic has introduced new seasonal cocktails to neighborhood gems Nina May and Opal in Chevy Chase. At Opal, the “Apple Fiesta” is prepared with reposado tequila, lime, apple cider reduction, and cinnamon essence. Over at Nina May, the seasonal margarita boasts tequila, agave, lime and seasonal fruits while the “Negroni Flip” is made with gin, campari, cocchi americano, and lime foam. There’s another called “Smokey the Pear #2” with mezcal, pear brandy, pear purée, lime, and ginger and finally, the “Scotchmen Love Chocolate” combines Johnnie Walker red, drambuie, orange bitters, and a chocolate stick." - Vinciane Ngomsi
