This place was good all around! The food was super flavorful and delicious, the service was extremely fast and the location is nice as well. Would recommend for some good Thai food.

Google
Great food overall. The food also isn’t super salty like a lot of Thai places are. The curries are a pretty spicy. Service is spotty depending on when you go or who you get.

Upon visiting Nine and Nine Thai Kitchen in Pasadena, we were immediately charmed by its cozy atmosphere and the warm welcome from its staff. The decor, featuring Thai photographs and a distinctive TuTu taxi at the entrance, added to the restaurant’s unique allure. The lunch special, a flavorful Chicken Yellow Curry, was a delightful treat for just $10, accompanied by rice and salad. The Pad Thai, priced at $12, offered a generous portion of authentically Thai, chewy noodles that were slightly wet but deliciously seasoned. In conclusion, Nine and Nine Thai Kitchen delivered an exceptional dining experience with its friendly service and authentic Thai flavors. It’s clear why our friends recommended this place, and it’s with pleasure that I share this positive review. A visit to Nine and Nine is highly recommended for anyone in search of genuine Thai cuisine in Pasadena.

Google
I don't have much to go on, just dropped on for a small bowl of TomKaGai, which they call something else on the menu. It was nice, and reasonably spicy.

Google
Great little 'hole in the wall' Thai spot. The lunch special was fantastic, served quick and fresh, and a great value. Service is personable, warm and swift. Place is small, but feels warm and inviting. Ive been ordering delivery from here for years, but now that I've finally been there, I'll try to make it a regular stop.

Google
Highly recommend the yellow curry lunch special with tofu!! Delicious and very reasonably priced!

Google
The service was both fast and friendly, which added to the overall positive dining experience. The Orange Chicken was an absolute standout, easily the best I've had in a long time. The Yellow Curry packed a delightful punch of spice and flavor. I'm already looking forward to returning for more of these fantastic dishes.

Yelp
My husband and I had an amazing lunch at Nine & Nine Thai! I ordered the chicken yellow curry lunch special, and it came with two crispy egg rolls, rice, and a fresh salad--perfectly portioned and full of flavor. The curry was rich, creamy, and just the right amount of spice. I paired it with a Thai iced coffee, and it hit the spot! My husband had the chicken panang curry and chicken fried rice with a Thai tea, and he was just as impressed. The panang had a deliciously deep flavor and the fried rice was savory with tender pieces of chicken throughout. The service was quick and friendly, and the food came out hot and fresh. Great portions, great prices, and great flavor--we'll definitely be back!

Yelp
If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! The food is phenomenal. Their Pad See Ew is perfectly done--the noodles have just the right texture, and the chicken and veggies are sautéed to perfection with a great balance of flavors. The dish with Chinese broccoli and crispy pork (don't know the nane) in that incredible sauce is seriously addictive! The eggplant with tofu is also a must-try. They also offer a wide variety of generous lunch specials, which come with veggie rolls or chicken dumplings. Service is quick, and the place is spotless. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Good authentic Thai food in Pasadena. Their Chicken Yellow Curry is delicious as well as their Eggplant with Tofu. The Pad See Eu was just ok, a little moshy, I think the noodles were little over cooked, though the flavor was good. Service is fast and good customer service. It's a tiny place and gets real busy. Good friendly atmosphere and clean. I will definitely come back to try the rest of their menus

Yelp
Food was very flavorful. We got the cashew nut chicken, garlic beef and chicken pad Thai. The servers were attentive and answered any questions we had about the dishes.

Yelp
I've always seen this place, never been! We decided to order out today! Two pad see ew's and a pad Thai! Very very very delicious and generous amounts! I will DEFINITELY order again soon! Thank you!
google avatar

Yelp
The lunch specials here are totally worth the price! I got the garlic pork with fried chicken dumplings and it was delicious and more than enough for one meal for me. The mango sticky rice here was also delicious and a hefty portion! Overall I'll be back soon to try out other dishes!

Yelp
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. I love everything about this place. Cute hole in the wall vibe. The food is amazing and honestly SOOO affordable for the area. The staff is very friendly!

Yelp
Still a 5/5! I had the wonton soup with egg noodles and it was delicious. It comes with wontons, chicken, egg noodle, bean sprouts, and cilantro. The noodles were chewy, and the wontons were yummy. I was able to finish it, but the waiter said it can be shared among 2-3 people (probably with other dishes). Remains one of my favorite places for quick and tasty food.
google avatar

Meya B.

Yelp
I would give them a 4.5!!! I just haven't tried other things on the menu to give a 5. The appetizer and mango sticky rice were sooo tasty. I'd definitely return. Good service, nice people!! Nice place had good amount of space and outside seating.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Thai food. We have tried many in the neighborhood and while there are a few that are good we like Nine and Nine the best. We tried their Coconut Soup Tom Kha with chicken, Pad See Ew Noodles, Eggplant Basil and Basil leaves with Chicken. All the dishes were so flavorful with a good portion of protein. We thought the portion size to price was fair. Their service and hospitality is very good also.

Yelp
This spot was a pretty decent Thai place with very affordable prices. It's a small little spot with indoor as well as outdoor seating. This is what I tried. Green Curry - It's a classic green curry. It was creamy and flavorful. I paid extra for the brown rice. It wasn't brown rice, but more like multigrain rice just FYI. Got it with chicken and overall enjoyed it. (4.5/5) House Tom Yum Noodle Soup - This reminded me of pho. It had many similarities as Vietnamese food but with a sourish Tom Yum. It was good, I enjoyed it. (4/5) This is a pretty solid spot. It's not the best Thai that I've had but it's pretty good. Service was pretty good as well. Not the prettiest spot but not bad for grabbing a quick bite. Spent $30 for two dishes, which is very reasonable. Parking - I parked on the street across from the restaurant. It was 2 hour parking. Few other paid lots around as well.

Yelp
Decent hole in the wall Thai restaurant on busy Colorado Blvd, close to the Pasadena Playhouse and Vroman's bookstore. Prices are moderate, food is tasty and service is quick. There is outdoor patio seating in addition to the small indoor area. We had the Pad See We and Basil chicken. Both were good.

Yelp
Ordered take out for the first day of the year! We got Pork Dumplings, Crab Rangoons, Yellow Curry Fried Rice with pork, Pad See Ew with chicken and Thai Iced Tea. Ordered take out. Pork dumplings were juicy and crisp. The crab rangoons were creamy and crispy, the yellow curry fried rice with pork was delicious, it could've had more of a curry taste tho. The pad see ew with chicken was fireee and so was the Thai iced tea!

Yelp
We had lunch specials, food were good. We sat outside because we brought dog, nice decorations outside. Fast service, only downside is no parking, have to park on the street.

Yelp
That little facade taxi out front finally reeled me in. Cozy outdoor and indoor dining areas. An eclectic choice of indoor decor - chandelier and a vintage bicycle on the wall. Some of their favorite things? I wanted to keep the meal light. A small coconut chicken soup and fresh veggie spring roll. Soup was good, easy on the coconut cream and lots of mushrooms. Fresh spring rolls would be a tad better if there was a bit more of mint to give it a little punch for the tofu. A bowl Of peanut sauce on the side was not bad but not heavy on that peanut almost butter taste and consistency. I'm used to having spring rolls with shrimp that helps with flavor. Bbq ribs had this sauce. I couldn't make it out but it was good, just didn't get expect the ribs to be served in a sauce. The tips of the ribs were a little dr. The ribs in general were easy to eat since the rest were tender (besides the tips) Thai tea was tall and cold. I prefer more of the tea than cream. I prefer heavy take on that orange color tea :) Staff was friendly. I'd be back to try their signature pad see noodles When I'm In the neighborhood.

Yelp
The food is good but let's not make people who dine in to eat alone feel weird. It's casual dining.

Yelp
I'm so MAD...that I just tried this restaurant! My wife and I live in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for lunch. I had the chicken basil leaves with chili (lunch special) and my wife had the Pad See Ew. Chicken Basil Leaves with Chili - delicious flavors, fresh ingredients, you will clean your plate.' - this comes with 2 egg rolls, steamed rice, and salad....for $11.50!! Best deal in the neighborhood!! Pad See Ew - flavorful and fresh. - The best in Pasadena. This is my new favorite neighborhood restaurant, can't recommend it enough. The staff is super helpful and nice. Do yourself a favor and stop by.

Yelp
Every time I visit Vroman's to get a book, I always see Nine & Nine and never try it. Finally got to try it out today! Friends and I shared our 3 dishes family style. Red curry was a delicious change of pace bc I usually get yellow curry. White rice came in an adorable flower shape. Bamboo shoots in the curry were slim and not as wide as other places! Pad see ew was standard and basil fried rice (both eaten too quickly) had a seared and greasy flavor. Thai tea is on the sweeter side but had a good time with friends either way.

Yelp
This is a small Thai restaurant in Pasadena. There's some seating inside and outside. The food is pretty good and the spice level is definitely there! We ordered to go and the food was ready in a timely manner. - Spicy Catfish: The spicy sauce was delicious, the fish was crispy - however I thought it was a bit overcooked. It came with a side of rice. - Pineapple Curry: My favorite! Sweet and savory! It came with a side of rice. - Thai Toast: This was kind of like a savory version of a French toast but with meat.

Yelp
I came in on a Saturday night around 7. We parked across the street on the street. The decorations both outside and inside were cute. The place is small so be aware of that if you plan to come during rush hour. We ordered the Thai toast and Pad See Ew. The toast was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting the sauce to be on the sweeter side but it paired well. I really liked the cucumbers that were part of the sauce. I felt like the Pad See Ew was pretty standard. Nothing super amazing about it but that's not to say that it wasn't good. It was still enjoyable and filled me up! Our server was nice and patiently waited while we decided on what to order.

Yelp
I ate here the first time and it was really good. I took my coworkers here for the second time and you could not even eat the food. The pad Thai was so overcooked. The noodles were mushy and too sweet. It was like eating sugar. The chicken sate was so tough and Dry,could not eat it. The beef dishes were similar so dry and so tough could not eat it. I can't believe I was eating at the same place. This inconsistency will not have me coming back. Can't take the risk. There's so many good Thai restaurants out there.

Yelp
Nine and Nine has been on my list of Thai restaurants to try for quite some time. Recently a family member ordered their food and delivered it to me for lunch. My go to item at most Thai restaurants is Crispy Catfish. I love seafood. The crunchiness and spicy sauce of this dish is my favorite. At Nine and Nine this particular dish is cooked off the bone (sliced filet of catfish) and skinless. It is breaded like a chicken nugget and deep fried with the sauce on the side. I can see how many would prefer this, and it delivers on crunch. Personally I prefer the fish cooked on the bone, which keeps it more tender, and I love crispy skin. The sauce itself is delicious. Not too thick, and you can see the basil and green peppercorn strands inside. It tastes great with steamed rice. The other dish I tried was the Thai green beans with chicken. The beans are delicious and seasoned well with lots of sauce. I found the chicken to be a bit dry - again it appears to be boneless chicken breast sliced up, which is personally not my favorite. I can see it appealing to many though. The flavor is spot on. It tastes great with steamed rice. I look forward to trying more of their dishes in the future.

Yelp
Small parking lot in the back! Friendly staffs and good food! Went there for early dinner on Wednesday around 5:30pm, and there're half table full already. I love restaurant that has indoor and outdoor seating. Another big plus about their outdoor seating is the patio is all shaded, also the seating is separate from the sidewalk (some restaurants put tables on the sidewalk).

Yelp
Food: wonderful! It made me remember why I like Thai food! Not at all spicy I had to some Thai dried chilli powder (omg so good it's not a dramatic spice it's a tingle) Service: fast even when busy Ambiance: it's so cute it gives you a feeling being at local spot in Thailand with nice slow sexy music
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for lunch on Sunday as I haven't been here in a while! The service was quick and there lunch specials are awesome! Food was great but what was annoying is all these lady's who work there talking to these customers at a table loud and I mean loud! We couldn't even enjoy our food! Hello shouldn't they be working! They were all standing in a corner laughing and talking! Won't be back!

Yelp
Ambiance and Service: Nine & Nine Thai Kitchen offers a cozy dining experience. The indoor/outdoor seating option and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere. Green Curry Lunch Special : curry sauce is rich, creamy, and packed with aromatic spices and of course, coconut flavor. It's a comforting blend of coconut milk, Thai basil, and green chilies. The only suggestion was the sauce was on the sweeter side, but I think that's of personal taste. I ordered it with chicken, and the pieces are tender and absorb the flavors. The dish also comes with steamed rice, and 2 vegetarian Spring Rolls: Crispy and filled with veggies, these spring rolls add a delightful crunch. On the side was also fresh salad with a zesty dressing providing a refreshing contrast to the curry.

Brian M.

Yelp
Great food. Can be very busy . call ahead. Wonderful fresh spring rolls.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yelp
I ordered the chicken pad see ew spicy as a to-go order. The flavor was deep and rich, but there was no spiciness at all. The chicken was overcooked and tough, and there were barely any vegetables. Maybe the takeout format affected the outcome. Hard to say. With more tender chicken and a better balance of ingredients, this could have been a much stronger dish.

Aagam S.

Yelp
Horrible service. Ordered soup that was uncooked and fried rice that had a piece of cardboard or paper in it. The restaurant decided to offer no refund or replacement.
google avatar

Cindy S.

Yelp
Surprisingly good thai on Colorado. I guess my expectations were set low given it's Pasadena? The curry was so delicious. I had the lunch set so it came with eggrolls. The eggrolls left much to be desired but the main course was definitely the start of the show. It definitely hit the spot and a great go-to place for lunch. The lunch deals are definitely worth it.
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
I love the food, the spice levels are perfect. Their teas are sweet so I order my lemon iced tea with extra lemons on the side. I would park at the Target parking lot and walk over since there is no parking there. Can get very busy during rush hour.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
While walking the streets of Pasadena, I noticed many people with Thai tea alongside their to-go orders. It looked really good that I decided to get one myself! It was really tasty and cost less than $5. I'd definitely return to try the food as well.
google avatar

Joseph R.

Yelp
Great service, tasty quality food and at a reasonable price. Best lunch special in Pasadena. Green Curry pictured

Gwen E.

Yelp
The panang was excellent - just like I like it at medium spiciness. The crab fried rice was also very good at mild spiciness. I would recommend the food highly!
google avatar

Ara A.

Yelp
I want to say this is the best Thai restaurant in Pasadena. Staff is friendly and food is delicious with a wide selection. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Mandy W.

Yelp
This is a small restaurant, with an excellent selection of delicious Thai dishes. The wait staff was very friendly and food came quickly. I had the Pineapple Curry & my son had Tom Yum Tofu. I would highly recommend either dish, but really don't think you will go wrong. We finished with Mango Sticky Rice. Really glad Yelp led us here!

Jessica T.

Yelp
5 Stars! Where's the lie??? Service is always friendly and the food is always cooked to order, hot n fresh. Thankfully this place has not followed all of the other places in the area and tripled their prices. I appreciate having a go to in Pasadena with good food that doesn't break the bank.
google avatar

Audrey C.

Yelp
Best food, service and prices. Small & cute spot located in the center of Pasadena away for the noise and downtown. I'm never disappointed in this place. Best item on their menu is the chicken curry, i promise you will go back for more.
google avatar

Yelp
Super nice and quaint thai restaurant near old Pasadena. It has a beautiful plant-like entrance and has both indoor and outdoor. It's not quite in the main part of old town so parking was very easy. It only took about 5 minutes for seating, and it was near noon on a Saturday as well. They have a nice sized menu, and we decided on the lunch specials with chicken and baby corn with mushrooms and the yellow curry chicken (non spicey). Both dishes were great. We ordered them with steamed rice, egg rolls, and Thai iced tea. The prices were amazing. $30.00 for all of this. Great place. I will go back again when I visit Pasadena.

Yelp
It is really hard to find a good thai resturaunt in LA area, I moved to this area and was looking for food that reminds me of home, when stuck in a bind and want something quick and fast. We both turned to yelp as it is a reliable source, so we decided to give this place a try... it was a horrible experience. This place is really unsanitary. They have a bucket of their sanitizer on the table, I had witnessed and watched the server just pick up the rag and to continue cleaning a table with the same rag that was used to clean a prior table without rinsing it off. I had worked in the hospitality industry for 14 years and the horror when I had witnessed that. The water cups had prior lip stains and had hair in our water. My daughter and I had both waited for about 5 minutes before we were addressed and we were given a table that was dirty and was not wiped down and a greasy menu was placed upon the table. I understand that you may be busy, but when I had worked at a busy restaurant and as a server, we would wipe down the menus and to always make sure that the customers would be given a clean one. Working in the food industry, we know that sometimes certain "incidents" happen, such as finding hair in your food. At this point, my patience is running thin as it seems that from one mistake lead to another. At the end, my daughter and I did not finish our food, nor did we wanted to take anything to go. We would not be coming back, and we did not understand the hype of this place.

Yelp
Cute little exterior design! Didn't take a picture but the vibe of the restaurant gives that authentic Thai culture feel. The food was good! We got the pad Thai and the yellow curry (egg rolls are included but came after, so no picture haha). The pad Thai noodles was al dente. Chewy in texture too. The yellow curry was good, a good kick of spicy. The fried bananas and homemade coconut ice cream was a good combo together! I loved the homemade ice cream and the fried bananas were good but a little too much fried for me (personal preference-I can only take soo much fried food haha). The service was good too. Overall, a good place for Thai food!

Yelp
Nine & Nine is our favorite Thai restaurant in the Pasadena area. It has a great selection of soups and curry dishes and is reasonably priced. The restaurant is in a small space with both inside and outside seating, so seating during peak times can take a while. Staff are friendly and check on us regularly. My personal favorites are the panang curry with tofu and any of the tom yum soups. Please note: they are closed on Tuesday.

Yelp
Recommended by Yelper Jessica. We ordered the following: Pad See Ew with Chicken 4/5 Green Curry with Beef 3/5 The dishes were sweeter than expected. The Green Curry is super thick. Overall, affordable and quick.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
All three dish's meat was super dry. Red curry rice with beef, Pineapple fried rice with chicken, and Larb, with ground beef. (Poor choice I concede.) I am aware meat gets tough if cooked forever in a soup or wok and chicken needs to be integrated after the sauces are prepared. The front door is left open letting in cold air seemingly intentionally by our waitress. No need to ever go return, lots of quality Thai food in the Pasadena area.
google avatar

Danna S.

Yelp
Great lunchtime specials. The cashew chicken was great. Garlic pepper pork was really good but just a tiny bit too salty for me. A great spot for a quick lunch.

Courtney B.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. A friend and I finally went last weekend. The place was very busy when we arrived and I initially thought that we would have to sit outside. Luckily they had one small table open in the corner, which was a relief. It was too hot for outdoor seating! Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. My friend had the cashew chicken and I chose old faithful, pad see ewe. The temperature, spice level, and flavors were on par with other Thai spots in the area. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were larger than average. The lunch specials consisted of several popular dishes, plus salad, rice, and dumplings (or egg rolls). Not bad for $13.95. I intend to return in the near future (or at least get takeout) to try their pad Thai.
google avatar

Yelp
Saltier than the ocean; beef so hard it can't be chewed; service so neglectful I could have gotten up and walked out without being noticed. The medium was terribly mild. Asked for Prik Nam Pla and it was, like, the chilis you sprinkle on pizza soaked in vinegar and more salt. Nope, nope, nope.
google avatar

Rita L.

Yelp
Ordered lunch here a few times now and have not been disappointed. Today I had chicken satay and chicken larb because I'm trying out a high protein diet, and it fit the bill perfectly. The chicken satay came with 5 decent sized skewers, basically one marinated & grilled chicken tenderloin on a stick, and a really delicious peanut sauce. Also a side of pickles in maybe another sweet vinegary dipping sauce, but I just keep going back to that PB sauce. I ordered the larb mild because I knew they could pack in the heat, but I guess I'm a big wimp because mild was just at the edge of almost too spicy for me *embarassed*. Perhaps they didn't change the spice level, but it was still tasty. We had a pad Thai one time before and hubby raved it as one of his top pad thai dishes he's had in a while.
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
It was ok. Had salad rolls, fried tofu, Pad See Ew with tofu, Thai iced tea. The tea was good. I liked the salad rolls as a pleasant departure from fried spring rolls. The fried tofu was dry and just odd for some reason. The Pad See Ew had tasty greens and the noodles were good. But somehow the whole thing was relatively flavorless. Overall passable, but I've had much better Thai. (Try Min's.)
