Nissi Deli & Bakery - Review - Burien - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Across from the Trader Joe’s in Burien is a new Vietnamese counter serving classics like bánh mì, com dia, and bún bò huế. On the drinks menu, there’s an array of juices, as well as colorful concoctions featuring the pungent fruit durian." - Gabe Guarente

Nissi Deli and Bakery is a gem! This newly opened Vietnamese restaurant offers authentic and Vietnamese dishes (including exclent Banh Mi sandwiches on warm crusty baguettes). The place is clean and bright, cheerful and friendly. The wonderful family running the restaurant are working hard to make it special. It's no wonder this place has quickly become a popular lunch destination for local workers from the auto shop next door, the car dealership, the hospital and other surrounding businesses. During my visit, the lunchtime crowd line was out the door. Many had been there multiple times already. All seemed excited to have such a great new place in the neighborhood. The Burien food scene just keeps getting better! Nissi Deli and Bakery is a great addition.

We are so pleased to check this new place out. I grew up I white center eating delicious vietnamese food but when I became vegetarian I couldn't eat my favorite things anymore. This was such a treat for me. The atmosphere is great, clean and neat with lots of plants. Order at the register and sit down to wait. The place was super busy I was glad to see the business doing well. The lady running the register greeted is warmy and patiently answered all of our questions. She managed the crazy line efficiently and with a lot of patience. The chef that brought us our food gave us a thumbs up and smiled. The wait wasn't even bad considering the line out the door! The food! I was delighted to see bun bo hue on the menu, I loved eating it when I was younger but I'm limited now. They have bun bo chay a vegetarian version so we ordered one beef, one vegetarian, a tofu bahn mi and vietnames coffee. Spicy beef noodle soup: my partner described it as savory, tangy and slightly spicy. There were pork trotters and Vietnamese ham. No pork blood but I know not everyone does that. Spicy vegetarian noodle soup: tangy, spicy, salty and everything I needed, served with chili oil, mint and cabbage. The real delight was the toppings, fried tofu skin, immigration vietnamese ham, fake beef, king oyster mushrooms and some crispy salty things I couldn't identify. Each piece I could tell what it was a homage to You can tell this was crafted with love. Every topping was a different texture and flavor reminding me of the bun bo hue I had in my youth. Amazing! Tofu bahn mi: crisy chewy bread, savory sauce and a fresh and crispy pickled diakon raddish slaw. Three layers of thinly sliced marinated fried tofu. Delicious. Vietnamese coffee: creamy and complex, there was a depth of flavor that clings to your tongue was you drink it. The topping was forthy and almost caramel tasting. Definitely give this place a try I am so happy this place is here I'm the heart of burien serving delicious food with warm smiles.

Google
Burien has been in need of good, authentic Vietnamese food that is quick and also delicious! We had pork banh mi, banh beo and the beef short rib plate and devoured all of it! The marinated meats were perfect on both dishes. The lemonade was fresh squeezed with just the right amount of sweetness, and the iced coffee was soo yummy. This will definitely be a place I will frequent.

I just visited Nissi Deli & Bakery, the first Vietnamese deli in Burien, and it’s definitely worth checking out!, this spot brings authentic Vietnamese flavors in a casual, welcoming setting. The staff here are friendly and quick with service, whether you’re dining in at their tables or grabbing something to-go. Their menu covers all the favorites—broken rice plates (cơm tấm), comforting pho, fresh bánh mì, milk teas, cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee), and plenty of hot food options ready for takeout. On my visit, I tried the cà phê muối (salted coffee), the bánh mì đặc biệt, and a cơm tấm plate. Everything came out fast, fresh, and flavorful—the bánh mì had that perfect balance of crispy baguette and savory fillings, the cơm tấm was hearty and satisfying, and the salted coffee was rich with a unique twist.

Yummy. Egg rolls and fried banana is good. I also got bánh xèo and bò kho too. Both are yummy. They have such a big selection of food. Will come back to try more!

Decided to check this place out because it's so close to my workplace. I'm glad I did! Their fresh avocado smoothie is out of this world. I also ordered a chicken vermicelli bowl and it was amazing. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Sooo glad this opened up in my area! Saw an ad for Facebook and was in the next day. Love that they open at 7am, and they have a lot of vegan options. The location is right across from the Trader Joe's parking lot. It is more a deli but there is a seating area inside and outside. I ordered the vegan bun Bo hue and it was delicious and refreshing! I don't come by vegan bun Bo hue often so of course I had to try it. Comes with extra chili oil. They do have a 15% off ending on 9/30 for their grand opening special so make sure you take advance! Will be back this whole week to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
Decided to check out the grand opening of this location. And we ended up getting two different dishes. Bun Bo Hue and the pork chop broken rice. The bun Bo hue was quite blend, and there was not much flavor nor spice in the soup base. As for the broken rice, The best thing about broken rice is nailing down 3 things. the pork chop is about 60% protein while 40% of the pork chop was made up of fat, which was very disappointing. It was a mess on this due to how rubbery it was. The broken rice could've been softer, but it felt a bit dry. And lastly, the fish sauce was watered down with a bunch of garlic mince. Overall, this place, even though it was grand opening, it has an opportunity to bounce back from improving their quality and flavor. And for feedback when including pork chop with broken rice try not to include so much fat.

Yelp
Good iced coffee, but lack of flavor from the food. Grilled pork bahn mi was bland and nothing to note. The same for the the pork vermicelli bowl. Pricing is a bit on the high side.

Yelp
The sandwiches are made to order. The bread is really crispy and the meats are sliced fresh. Prices are a little on the high side. The food tasted good but not the best banh mi I've had. Their Thai iced tea was great! They were close to closing so there wasn't much food out in the hot warmers. They just opened this locations so maybe they'll be busier when more people hear about this location.

Yelp
Super excited to have this place open up. Got the pork banh mi, egg rolls, and a taro boba. Delicious! Everything had so much flavor! Definitely will be back and encourage others to visit as well! You won't regret it!

Yelp
Love this new place! So fresh and delicious! They have everything from pastries, to breakfast to lunch and dinner. Since they've opened my husband has brought home many items from their menu for us to try out. My fav is their Banh Mis and their pho is so good! My husbands fav item is their short ribs and rice plate and their fresh fruit smoothies! This place is a great addition to the community serving great food.

Yelp
Stopped by to try them out! Had a pork bahn mi, and it was absolutely delicious! Super fresh, the pork was so tender and well seasoned- And they were so incredibly nice. I will be a regular for sure, and can't wait to try their other dishes!

Josie H.

Yelp
Friendly staff and flavorful banh mi! I also tried their beef stew (Bo kho) and it was flavorful as well. Would recommend and come back if in the area again!

Yelp
Lots of great food, from full meals to delicious sandwiches, to sweet treats. Easy stop off of 509 highway so it makes picking up something on my way home easy for those busy evenings. The chicken banh mi is fantastic! If they have meatballs available don't pass them up
