The 17 Best Restaurants In Allapattah - Miami - The Infatuation

"Nitin is a classic Dominican bakery, and it wouldn’t be a classic Dominican bakery without super buttery Dominican bizcocho with pearlescent meringue frosting, which you can find here. They also make a fantastic habichuelas con dulce, a Dominican dessert soup with red beans and a mix of sweet spices like cinnamon. It’s big and has plenty of seating, so you can sit down and enjoy that delicious combination of pastries and air conditioning. If you don't have a sweet tooth, there are savory baked goods as well—croquetas, empanadas, and more." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

Nitin Bakery - Review - Allapattah - Miami - The Infatuation

"Nitin is a classic Dominican bakery that has some of Miami’s most affordable fancy pastries, including passion fruit and mango mousse entremets (a.k.a. dainty edible sculptures) that can give any high-end pâtisserie a run for its money. They also make their own version of a Hungarian dobos torte with crisp, thin layers of a biscuit/sponge cake hybrid sandwiching buttercream and dulce de leche. And these are just a very small sampling of the pastries we love at Nitin—which include savory things too, like croquetas and empanadas. But it wouldn’t be a Dominican bakery without super buttery Dominican bizcocho with pearlescent meringue frosting, which you can also find here. They also make a fantastic habichuelas con dulce, a Dominican dessert soup with red beans and a mix of sweet spices like cinnamon. It’s a large, airy space with plenty of seating, so you can sit down and enjoy that delicious combination of pastries and air conditioning." - Carlos C Olaechea

This place used to be good, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill. I ordered the moro with stewed chicken, and the chicken was cold—even though it was sitting in the food warmer. The rice didn’t have much flavor, and the salad was bland and unremarkable. It feels like they may have changed cooks, because the food is definitely not what it used to be. Disappointed, as this was once a solid go-to spot.

Google
Bought a tres leches cake for a bday. We had to throw it away. Biscocho was dry and falling apart. Can't believe they call themselves a bakery. What a waste of money. Worst cake ever. Don't even bother trying this place. Any review saying their cakes are good is fake. Ruined our bday event.

Google
I never leave bad reviews. Check your bill and confirm amount, asked for coffee with milk, was brought just coffee. Told her don’t worry about it just bring me another cup with milk 1 finger tall. paid my bill and when i looked at my bill i was charged for 2 coffee. when i brought it up she was surprised i would question the charge. i’m okay being charged an up charge for milk but another coffee was crazy. she offered to give me more coffee or milk, i declined. I just left and wrote this review The way it happened just bothered me, but it’s miami.

Google
This is a charming café that delivers an authentic experience with its delightful cortado and delectable cake offerings. The cortado, a rich and smooth espresso, is expertly brewed, offering the perfect balance of boldness and creaminess that is sure to please coffee enthusiasts. As for the cake selection, does not disappoint. Their cakes are a delicious treat, with each slice being a sweet and satisfying indulgence. The combination of a perfect cortado and scrumptious cakes makes this a must-visit spot for coffee and dessert lovers alike. The inviting ambiance and friendly service further enhance the overall dining experience, making it a charming destination to savor the flavors in every sip and bite.

Google
Getting unnecessarily pricey, like most places. And some servers look like they don’t want to work there. But overall it’s a decent place, and the food quality is great!

WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?! I have worked in the wedding/event industry for over 10 years.
When thinking of our wedding cake, we wanted something traditional. Something elegant and delicious. We go to Nitin Bakery all the time and thought….let’s see if they’ll do our wedding cake and OMG they did and it was SO DELICIOUS and everything we wanted in a cake! Everyone talked about the cake after the wedding on how delicious it was as well. For those who want yummy and traditional - for any kind of occasion - I recommend them 100%!

Yelp
The worst cake ever - went to get a Dominican cake for my birthday and was horrible. Got 1/2 lb and paid $33 and it was just a waste of money. Please save your time and money and go someplace else. 11 days later and left voice messages asking to speak with the manager and nothing. I am uploading picture so you can see how bad the cake was. Save your money and don't go there.

Yelp

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for years. The food is good but the service is HORRIBLE. I went in 11/18 excited for breakfast & a male customer rapidly cut in front of me to order first & the waiter took his order, ok whatever, I wait. A minute later another man comes in & the cashier (red hair) takes his order ignoring me AGAIN. It was a mean, extremely rude, & degrading experience from both the cashier & their male customers. As a cashier, you see everything & know that I came in first, but blatantly ignored me to serve male customers. It was extremely uncomfortable & I won't be back. There's lamia bakery across the street, & tipico around the corner & its just as good, & is a friendlier & more respectful experience

Yelp
If you are looking for an authentic Dominican bakery, Nitin is the place. Their breakfasts are amazing. I love their mangu con los golpes. They also have yaniqueques and many other typical goods. The service is always nice.

Yelp
Good bakery....can work more on etiquette and cadence...lady doesn't say thank you or anything

Yelp
I found this Dominican bakery the other day while jogging to the post office- perfect timing eh? Needing to pick up some croquetas for family and for Luna, I was also tempted by some of their other desserts. They sell both traditional and Dominican sheet cakes. (The highlight of Dominican cakes is their use of Italian icing for a fluffier taste. I ended up ordering some buñuelos to take to my mom as well as a Meringue & berry tart. There's also a few tables since you can order savory dishes like sandwiches as well. The employees were also helpful and friendly, and it's great to support a local bakery!

Yelp
Quick service, plentiful options, yummy treats! The flan was smoky, creamy, and had great consistency. I'm not a coconut girl (even though I'm and island girl, but it was nice to try). The tres leches was my favorite and delicious. The flambé topping was like a marshmallow whip/fluff. I think the two textures worked well together, just wish it wasn't as sweet since the cake is already very sweet.

Alvin W.

Yelp
Bought a tres leches cake for a bday. Aside from being expensive, it was inedible! The biscocho was dry and falling apart. No one ate it. Horrible quality. Can't believe they are in business selling this kind of cakes and call themselves a bakery. Never buy a cake here. What a scam!

Yelp
We had lunch next door at a seafood restaurant. We were stuffed and needed coffee. We saw the sign on the wall that said bakery. So, we decided to stop by. The inside of the bakery was clean and big compared to some small bakeries. There were so many beautifully decorated cakes in the showcase. There were some desserts too. On the side, they had a cooked meal to choose from. Unfortunately, when we walked in, only two ladies were helping other customers, and we had to wait a while. But the cortadito we ordered was good. I never been to Puerto Rican Bakery, but if I wasn't too full, I wanted to try a piece of cake from the showcase. Many customers were buying those.

Caroline S.

Yelp
great dominican vibes super personable staff. got yelled at because some guy was flirting with me while i tried to order which was fair because we were holding up the line that was my bad. coffee and empanadas were perfect.

Yelp
The chocolate mouse was very good, the flan/cheese cake was also quite good. Prices were very reasonable completed to northeast. Everything was very fresh. The local deserts were very very sweet, more of an acquired taste, service was awesome, very Friendly place.

Yelp
I cannot vouch for anything else, but the mondongo/tripe soup is amazing, it has to be one of the best in the entire county. If you just sit down you'll notice a consistent number of customers coming in solely for this delicious soup. You can pick from the large or small order either way it comes with a side of white rice. Always get the large as you'll regret it if you don't once you taste it (thank me later). Just to add on to the amazing taste, I like how they cut the tripe in small bite chunks. A lot of other places get lazy and just dump one large tripe piece and call it a day.

Yelp
This place was amazing! Friendly staff with great customer service. Its hard to find good Dominican pastries in Miami. I am a native New Yorker, this place made me feel at home. I had a batman themed baby shower at night with a very non traditional cake order (black and red/white) were the colors. They gave us a free cup of coffee while pacing the order. The cake was amazing!! My new favorite bakery btw. Everyone at my baby shower raved about this cake, the flavors were so amazing! This bakery is HUGE btw, one of the biggest bakeries I have seen. I live in Homestead, I wish I lived closer so I could go there all the time

Yelp
I payed an additional fee for my cake order and it wasn't what I asked for. The staff was rude and made it challenging to resolve the issue.

Yelp
"Sweets for the sweet."-Candyman the movie lol I stop by here once in awhile to satisfy my sweet tooth. Yelp
Food its good but service sucks, had a steak sandwich And the lady told me she could make it but when the line of people go down and that if people came in she had to take care of them first so, what about my turn im a customer tooo... first and last time i come to this place..

Yelp
Easily one of the best bakeries for Latin desserts in Miami. Highly recommend for classics and lots of other things you don't see at a lot of Latin bakeries around.

Yelp
I have to admit, Nitin Bakery was simply wonderful. It is pleasant place. Each and every single menu item that we have ordered was extremely fresh and tasty. Workers are incredibly pleasant. They're attentive, polite and always on their game. Nitin Bakery: Lovely place.

Yelp
This is the best Dominican Bakery in all of South Florida! I highly recommend dropping in for a slice of cake and coffee. The cake is moist and full of a delicious pineapple filling with a generous layer of merengue frosting. Other than the amazing traditional cake, they have other delicacies like Habichuela Dulce (sweet stewed beans that are an easter tradition in DR) , rum cake, and my FAVORITE- Flan Cheesecake! IT's a layer of flan on top of a creamy cheesecake. TO DIE FOR. They also have a cafeteria open for lunch, with different options ranging from salted cod (bacalao) to oxtail (rabo). IF you just want a snack they also have the BEST Pastelitos de Guayaba y Queso in all of Miami. The pastries here are better than anything you'll get at a place described as a "cuban bakery". Check these guys out, and take some to go for later, you're going to crave it hours from your first bite!

Yelp
Since moving to their new location some months ago, Nitin Bakery is without question the best bakery in Allapattah. They offer a combination of Cuban, Dominican, Puerto Rican and Central American delights. They serve meals, patties, pastries, cakes, pies, bread and an assortment of other dessert delicacies. You name it, they hit it. Love going there for breakfast to enjoy a very delicious "yaniqueque" (Dominican version of fried Johnny Cakes) and fresh "jugo de chinola" (passion fruit juice). The best thing about this place is that their food is always fresh. Service is good for the most part. Unless you're there on a Saturday morning and they get backed up with a slew of hungry customers. All in all, whether it's to pick up a fresh loaf of bread or a birthday cake, there isn't a better option in the area than this one.

Yelp
I bought the Strawberry Cheesecake for my nephew's birthday dinner and it was amazing!!! Perfectly balanced sweetness and not overly rich. I also picked up a few various empanadas for lunch for the family. Everthing was EXCELENT!!! We are out of towners so we unfortunately won't be frequent customers, but we will be back if only for this bakery!!!! My brother in law and nephew said it is the best cake they have ever eaten in their lives, and I kinda have to agree it's definitely one of the best I've ever had as well!!!!a

Yelp
These ladies have an attitude problem and don't greet nicely or welcoming, good treats but customer service horrible.

Yelp
In search of some good old Dominican Breakfast, decided to visit this bakery. I ordered a tres golpe, which consists of monfongo (smashed ) green plantains, Dominican fried cheese, Dominican sausauge, eggs, and topped with either red or yellow sautéed onions. They also offer cuban breakfast and have a variety lunch specials and sandwiches. They cater Dominican cakes, pastries, cuban bread, and Puerto Rican bread. They have a sit in where you can enjoy your meal. I just dived in my breakfast and it was very tasty. I was given a large portion and my god it was good. I would be coming here more often to indulge in my cravings. Highly recommended if you want that Dominican flavoring of food. The pastries are a bit more expensive than their competitor from across the street. Their new location is spacious and nicer.

Yelp
Omg! Ewwwwwww worst Dominican cake ever! It was so dry and frosting was hard! My box cake I make at home taste better than this! Never coming back and can't believe I drove so long to get to this place!

Yelp
When I go to a place of business all I ask for is good service and hopefully the food will be good also to my delight I had both the pastries in this place are incredible, I have a sweet tooth so I try different places as I find them, this is a hidden gem. they also offer all of the usual delicacies you will find in most bakeries I have not tried every thing as yet but I will. I live in midtown area so this place is rapidly becoming my go spot for coffee and toast the Dominican bread done Cuban style is a must try if you are a fan of Cuban bread.

Yelp
Not good at all... Looking for a Dominican cake ... There is not a thing Dominican in that place. The cake taste everything but... Very disappointed. The quipes very bland, not good either. They call themselves Dominican bakery and they are not ... Very Cuban that is. The personal ... Cuban. So why do they call themselves Dominican bakery? They don't even know what pan de batata is... If u r Dominican u should know what that is. With all that said .. I won't be going there again. It is a shame that Dominicans in Miami won't let themselves prevail in what we do best. Cubans take over. Que se cuide la republica porque sino es los haitianos serán los cubanos los que nos quiten lo nuestro
