Yelp
I came here with work friends on a hot sunny day. My friend was raving about the hot kulolo sundae, so I had to try it!
LOCATION: They are in that small shopping/eating plaza across of stadium park (mauka side of King Street). Their shop is on the Ewa side. However, anywhere you park it's very easy walking distance.
PARKING: Depending on the time of day, the free parking lot can get busy. However, there is street parking on King Street and it's a block away from Longs if you want to park there. The lot frees up often though so patience will get you in.
SERVICE: I've been here twice and both times the staff were super friendly and helpful when trying to decide which dessert to get.
FOOD: I'm indecisive and always willing to try new things. If you're new to Niu, I suggest going outside of your normal and trying their specialty flavors or sundaes. I'm normally not a coconut fan... but the staff suggested the "Sunrise" sundae over coconut soft serve. Oh my-gasm in my mouth!!!! I wanted to order another one but I had to go to a dinner shortly after. I know, don't judge... I went and got dessert before dinner.
I also suggest the "Hot Kulolo" sundae over Ube soft serve. Not many places serve Kulolo on their desserts. It's definitely worth a try if you haven't had it before.
I've also tried their "Kanaks" sundae over Ube. If you're a peanut butter fan, this is definitely your choice.
I just learned that they have baked goods, pies and their soft serve is Vegan! I'm not Vegan but for some reason in my head, calling it Vegan sounds like superfood health dessert.... So it's ok to order more than one dessert for yourself.
Overall, this soft serve shop is the bomb diggity!!! How often is the McD's machine working on a hot sunny day. Plus, Niu's soft serve is an extreme upgrade in my book. It's cold out today but I'm craving their sunrise sundae again.
