The 12 Best Restaurants in Casablanca, Morocco | Eater

"Each menu item at trendy downtown restaurant NKOA takes inspiration from a different country, a nod to the international makeup of Casablanca. Try the Iranian herb frittata, Chilean ceviche, and Moroccan figs with orange blossom water and ice cream. The restaurant features live music too, which often matches the cuisine in its global perspective. Takeaway and delivery available. [$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

Very delicious! We would eat here everyday if we were locals. Prices are reasonable for the smaller portions but it means that you can try more of the delicious food. Recommend this classy spot for a romantic meal or everyday hang out!

Stunning decor and interesting menu. The waiter said most dishes could be made vegetarian / vegan, which was a welcome relief in Morocco. We shared the Ghanaian plantain balls to start, which were delicious. Unfortunately the mains were a let down. The Senegalese rice looked beautiful but without the chicken it was just flavoured rice. The burger was simply a burger bap with a few roasted veg inside. Also had a juice and coffee each. Was 350 dirham (by far our most expensive meal in two weeks in Morocco). Would recommend for meat eaters but not vegetarians, as the meat elements aren’t replaced with anything so you’re paying UK prices for a bland lunch.

Despite some negative reviews in the comments, our experience with NKOA has been quite positive. The fried chicken is tender and juicy, though a bit salty due to the glaze. The beef is decent, and the Indonesian fried rice is also enjoyable. It's important to set some expectations: this is a Muslim country, so drinks typically do not contain alcohol. Additionally, they focus on fusion cuisine rather than authentic Chinese or Mexican food, so you shouldn't expect exact replicas of dishes from your home country. Fusion cuisine blends different culinary traditions to create new dishes. For example, you can't say that pineapple pizza or pickle pizza isn't pizza; they simply offer a different flavor profile and presentation.

Beautiful restaurant in a nice area across the street from the Ville des Artes with very diverse menu and creative dishes. Try the wings, Senegalese rices, quinoa, berber soup, ramen and more. Afro mojito is highly recommended.

Sometimes, you just need something other than Tajine. We came here at the end of a 12 day vacation. The tuna tataki was more cooked than it should, so were the shrimps for the curry. The soup with Argan oil was excellent, the chicken wings were spot on, and the Raman noodles had a nice level of chewiness. The beef was also over cooked but the flavours were good. The burger and homemade fries were good. Ther proportion of rice to haloumi was off, but the rice was well flavoured. The smoothies were a mixed bag: mangoes were great, pistachio tasted a little synthetic, but not bad. The atmosphere is super chill, the service super nice. The chocolate dessert was excellent. The panna cotta tasted great, but is not the right consistency for a panna cotta, but still super flavourful. Is this the best food we’ve had? No! But it hit the spot nonetheless.

A delightful discovery in Casablanca. It is a very comfortable restaurant with a modern sophisticated design. The service was impeccable. The food was very good. And the prices are very reasonable, compared to European prices. My main, Riz Indonesian, was just ok. My partner's Riz Senegalese was delicious and the Korean style chicken wings we shared as a starter were AMAZING. We should have both ordered our own plate of these.

What can I say? It was our last evening in Casablanca. We came to NKOA, were greeted very friendly and sat down for what should be the best restaurant experience in our two weeks of Marocco (we were in Marrakech and Essaouira before). Amazing service, beautiful ambience (the music, the style of the place just fit perfectly) and - most important of all - the food was absolutely delicious. We had two starters, two mains and a dessert, also two drinks (lassi and juice) and EVERYTHING was soooo good. And the prices are more than justified for what they offer. We could feel that the whole team there is living their dream of a good quality restaurant. And that is what makes a restaurant a place where you feel comfortable. Thank you so much for the lovely evening! We're really sad that we discovered NKOA only on our last evening because now we can't visit a second time.

So after a short visit to the villa de art, walk out turn left at the end of the block and on the right is a little gem of the neighborhood. Excellent food, service and prices. A lovely fusion of african (ghanian and Senegalese dishes) yummy and beautiful decor. Not to be missed!
