"This no-frills spot is known for its excellent burgers and shakes, but you can also get hot dogs and lobster rolls with a frequent side of live music. The location in Kilmarnock is still closed due to a fire but the Tappahannock outpost is open." - Jeff Chin

NN Burger Review: The food at NN Burger was okay, but it wasn't mind-blowing. I ordered a classic burger, which wouldn't even make my top 5 list. Everything here is a separate charge, which adds up quickly. My kids enjoyed the chicken nuggets, and my daughter liked the grilled cheese, but again, everything was separate. They split the sweet potato fries, which was fine. We had the crispers, which made it to the shareable app as it was enough for two and cheaper than adding it as a side. The thing that really got me was the cost. Our total was almost $90, and we left a tip, which I'm now wondering why since it was all self-serve. The drinks were $7.98 for two and $10.47 for three kids' drinks. We won't be back because we can't justify the price with the quality and taste of the food. They did have live music, which was nice, but I feel bummed that I made a special trip here.

We took shelter at NN Burger due to the rain and sheer amount of good reviews. Burger itself was pretty good size and good price. Burger doesn’t include sweet potato fries or their chips. The portion size of the sweet potato waffle fries was very small, think smaller than Shake Shack fries portion. We ordered the marshmallow fluff which was extra and then was told that they were out which was disappointing. What will not disappoint is the bathroom and the handwashing (just water) station. If you do anything at all while here, be sure to visit the bathroom.

The burger I had was a 5 star all day but, the crisper fries were cooked a little to long for my taste. Almost to the point we're they were burnt and they left an after taste in my mouth. The burger though. It was awesome. I got the Avo Bacon burger with an egg on it and it was worth the hour drive. I wasn't happy that they didn't have fresh brewed sweet tea. Even the fresh brewed iced tea wasn't fresh brewed.

The girl who checked me out was sweet. I was told no reg fries on menu and the sweet potato fries i got weren’t cooked all the way and neither was my burger. My burger is completely pink on the inside. Super disappointed & the bread was super hard.

While the sandwich was good, for nearly $40 for 2 sandwiches and 1 beer. It was extremely overpriced. There were no sides that came with it, those had to be ordered separately. (For even more money) I guess " Best in Virginia" comes with a price to the consumer. Only 1 side of my sandwich was toasted, I suppose I didn't pay for both sides to be toasted.

Wonderful experience! We enjoyed the food & the cotton candy milkshake and root beer float. The atmosphere was very welcoming and clean. The live music was wonderful. Aubrey took our order and bought our shake and float and was so nice and helpful! We also loved the photo machine— what a cute place!

This place is great! The staff were so friendly and helpful even when we inadvertently walked in ten minutes before they actually opened. Lobster rolls were tasty and the freakshake was amazing!

Google
The food is great!if you can get what you order. (Both of our orders were incomplete) Unfortunately all the outside tables are taken immediately and the staff CANNOT TURN DOWN THE MUSIC inside below 87 decibels (average) Conversation without yelling are around67 decibels. I want lunch, not hearing damage. Seriously, it's LOUD. it's Monday at noon, CHILL THE PARTY MUSIC OUT. THANKS. Okay, order a bacon avocado burger, no avocado Order a breakfast burger and get a patty, cheese, and egg. And that's all. No crispers and a half slice of bacon??? Like, uh, guys. Don't get me wrong, it's a great burger cooked right. But at $15 for a burger I expect.... maybe something similar to what the menu says I'm going to leave 3 stars because I have to assume we had a hung over cook or missing manager or something. I'll try again not on a monday

Yelp
Wash your hands and enjoy a Big beefy burger and NN. They lay claim to the Best Burgers in Virginia Award from a regional magazine and the claim is well earned. Walk up to the counter for made to order burgers, followed by a short wait. They recently added lobster rolls which look fantastic but I stuck to what they're best known for-burgers. I had the Top Notch Truffle Burger and their house crisper fries. Wife had the sunrise brunch burger. Food was great. They had local live music there when I visited- a teen acoustic guitar playing, young girl with a pleasant voice and an engaging stage presence.Atmosphere was inviting and casual. One more thing- this place is clean and they have a whole thing about hand washing with special handwashing songs in the bathroom playing overhead and hand washing stations in the dining room. If you're a germaphobe or just fastidious about clean dining (who isn't, right?) then you'll appreciate this kinda unique aspect of this small town treasure in Tappohannock, VA.

Yelp
All the ingredients for a good tourist trap. I should have known from the "south of the border" style advertising that we were in fact not going to get the "best burger in virginia". The food was not bad just to be clear, but it was far from fantastic. Our burgers were not dry but they just did not have a ton of flavor. They were not well seasoned at all. We got 2 standard cheeseburgers with bacon and one kids cheeseburger. We also got their "crispers". The burgers were good but did not have a lot of flavor. The crispers were enjoyable but they are also pretty basic, just home made style potato chips and the price is a bit excessive. We also got 2 sodas and a water for the kid and I thought that for the price the drink cups were also a bit small. Our total cost was $65 for 2 cheeseburgers with bacon, a kids burger, 2 crispers orders and 2 sodas. The environment is loud and a bit hectic when busy. Our first burgers came out wrong which was inconvenient but they fixed it right away and the cooks at the counter were polite and courteous. Sadly the manager sat at a table in a corner with a name badge on that just said "manager" for the duration of our visit. Once we left the counter none of the staff moving through the restaurant attempted to engage with us in any way. Long story short the burger is edible and not a bad burger. It is far from the best burger in VA and at the price this place is a miss for me. I wouldn't stop again and we drive through here a few times a year. I'd say just about any VA location for Baker's crust is going to have a better burger and they also have chips similar to the crispers. Just to drive the tourist trap point home- you shouldn't stop at South of the Border either.

Yelp
I travel all over looking for great burgers and have been to NN before. I ride about 50 miles to Tappahannock just for NN. The last time I was there it wasn't the best experience but I figured it was not the norm so I wanted to try them again. I know they are a little pricey but there are no prices on the menu. I order the basic burger, chips and a drink and it was $27. I decide to not order the $7 chips. The drink was $3.50. Select "no tip" when you pay because there is no service to tip for. You wait in line to order then pick up your food when ready. It seems like it's easily $10 more than my last visit for the same thing. Yes, I understand inflation and all that but I wasn't expecting it to be that much. A family of 4 could easily spend $100. It didn't seem that busy. No line to order there were empty seats. There were 7 people behind the counter a couple of people in the lobby cleaning tables. After about 20-25 minutes I decided to get a refund on the burger. The hostess was courteous with the refund and I ended up getting a couple of $1 hotdogs from Sheetz. I don't know what happened with this place but I won't be coming back. Sad too because great burger joints are hard to find. I'll be surprised if NN is open for business in a few years.

Yelp
Large space and tables are not very crowded. Freshly prepared burgers. My group had a simple cheese burger which was good. A bacon cheeseburger which was also good. I had a French onion plant based burger and I'd say that it was barely cooked. The French onions were cold and the cheese wasn't melted onto the burger at all. 2/3 isn't bad. The crisp potatoes were more thick cut potato chips. Dark and well done. Ok. Not the best burger that any of us have had in Virginia like their claim however the service was great. There's a. Nice little Handwashing station in the dining area so you can clean your hands before and/or after your meal. That was a nice touch. We were there on a Friday night and they have live music which was also a nice touch.

Gerry B.

Yelp
There were signs everywhere touting this as the best burger place in Virginia. I tried the Truffle Burger, Rum Runner drink, and the fountain Cream Soda. The Truffle Burger was good. It was not the best I ever tasted. Definitely better than any fast food burger. The rum runner was ok but did not taste authentic. They had Agave Vanilla Cream Soda, Black Cherry with Tarragon Cream Soda, and Pineapple Cream Soda. I enjoyed all three of the cream soda flavors. The bottomless fountain drinks are pricey. I had a taste of the lobster roll that someone else in my party order. It was excellent and full of lobster meat. They have an upcharge for extra meat. You really don't need to get extra meat because the roll is already overflowing with lobster meat. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. They are pooch friendly and have bowls for water and dog food. In a corner they have a spot for live music. They also have a photo ring. The only problem is that they never emailed the photos we took.

Jason M.

Yelp
Not blown away or even interested in coming back, but if you're hungry, this does the trick. Rather pricey for the quality. The burgers don't come with any sides included, so be prepared to add those seperate. I got the hot honey mambo and it was pretty bland. I've been here twice and both times the buns were tough. The "Top notch truffle burger" comes with bacon and I'd suggest not getting extra bacon. The burger as a whole was very dry; $24 for a burger with drink and not worth it. I didn't even take a picture of the truffle burger with the bacon.

Jim S.

Yelp
We have eaten here quite a few times, and the last 3 times, it has gotten progressively worse. We almost bypassed it today but decided to give it one more try. Should have kept going. Two lobster rolls, supposed to be Maine style, but not even close for 43 bucks. Just some thawed lobster claw with nothing else on the bun. It barely covered the bun. They actually asked if I wanted extra meat for extra money, of course. Fountain soda is 4 bucks. Needless to say, we will not be returning. It's pretty sad to see a good business go downhill and try to charge exorbitant prices for something that isn't even close to being worth cheap prices.

Yelp
We stopped after a long day of traveling so we were hangry by the time we arrived. We both used the restroom first which lifted our spirits as we hummed along to the wash your hands song playing the entire time in the restroom. We emerged proudly accessorized with our "I have clean hands" sticker. Hubby ordered the lobster roll and I went with the bacon bleu burger. We both splurged on a shake - he a Key Lime and Salted Carmel Cream for me. The burger was great but too much bun for the burger. Easy fix as I just tore it down to fit. The lobster was good - just not exceptional. The shakes had a great flavor but next time I will not have the whipped cream added. It was too heavy for me personally. I was so full from the half burger I ate so I took most of it home and enjoyed it over the next couple of days. Every new experience is just that - an opportunity to try something new and come back over and over to find all your favorites. I would definitely return until I discovered my perfect meal.

Gwendolyn W.

Yelp
Overpriced and overrated. I got the lobster roll and don't think it was worth the money .. husband got a burger the bacon was so burnt he didn't eat it. And why don't they have regular fries? Probably won't go back!

Lindsey S.

Yelp
A swing and a miss I'm afraid. The first time I went here I really enjoyed the total experience but today I needed a quick bite and saw they had lobster rolls, so I swung by and ordered the Maine Style lobster, which according to the menu is chilled and served with light mayo and a side of chips. I asked the server if they had options for sauces with the chips and she said no. I ordered to go. The place is cute so I washed my hands and enjoyed the ambiance while I waited. The aguas frescas were tasty. When I arrived at my destination I realized they made the wrong lobster roll so it was hot and drenched in butter. I had to use napkins to hold it as it was dripping. The lobster had a very fishy flavor, but I will say they packed it pretty well, so the quantity was adequate. The chips were fresh but slightly undercooked and exceedingly greasy. The sauce for the chips is a honey mustard tiff, but it was so sweet you couldn't even really taste mustard. I want to go back in the future but I was really disappointed overall. It wasn't busy so for $22 I want my order done correctly.

Sam G.

Yelp
There have been some changes to my favorite burger "Sunrise" and it's not so special anymore. Seems pretty plain now. The lobster sandwich is still very good. My wife loves it.

Dave T.

Yelp
Menu vs real life, serious! Not even close, how do you not brown the toast on a patty melt? Maybe next time.

Sharon H.

Yelp
Live music, good food and great atmosphere who could ask for me. Check out the Prim Membership on their website for a tasty deal

Chris M.

Yelp
Only the red onion was good. We have been coming to NNK burger since it opened and will not be back. Horrible service, reduced menu of mediocre at best food. The green goddess salad was 1/4 edible due to veggie rot, the burger was bland, the ice tea tasted old and the soda carbonation was off. The fried potatoes were uncooked on top layer and over cooked on bottom layer. We waited for over 30 minutes and it was not very busy at all. We watched the orders snail pace out of the open kitchen. The ketchup dispenser broke and no one fixed it. The majority of the staff were busy changing out chairs and asking customers to move in order to do this. So disappointing.

Efe B.

Yelp
I have supported NN Burgers since they were new (2014), and I don't know what's happened but they must have changed hands. Instead of a delicious double-party smash burger with excellent quality ingredients I got what I wouldn't serve to an enemy at a tailgate - a dry, fat, cheap hockey puck void of flavor that seemed to be the reject of the BBQ. The rest of the meal was off, no sauce no... taste to the burger? No fries on the menu anymore (why??). I really don't know what has happened to this place, but it used to be a must-stop passing through town a few times a year. Clearly something has changed, it has totally lost its soul and flavor. Complete 180 from what I would have said was my favorite burger from here to Canada. Do not go here anymore, especially if you're a long-time customer and it's been a while. Service was fine! Food was terrible. Just depressed me for hours, days afterwards being such a far cry from what it once was. This is a sincere review, NN you've lost your way. A crying shame.

Jonathan M.

Yelp
First of all I would just like to say how delicious the was! I had such a good time meeting with friends and eating tasty food. For my main course I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce and pickles with a fries. The burger was so juicy and the fries were chip like and crunchy. For dessert I ordered a Freak Shake and it was so rich and creamy! The brownie on top was so fudgy! As for the service we got our food quickly and had little wait. Everyone was nice and the place seemed very clean. I am pleased to say that this was a dinner to remember!

Esti W.

Yelp
Best Lobster Roll around stopped in on the way to Fredericksburg and it was the best part of the trip! Amazing food the roll was packed with so much lobster I had it with mayo and the roll itself must have come straight from the cloud in heaven so soft and buttery. The breakfast burger was awesome too according to the rest of my table. I only wish I had room for one of their "freak" shakes they looked amazing. Strongly suggest the mango lemonade I couldn't get enough

Maria T.

Yelp
This spot is always good!! We love it! Never Neglect NN burger I'm the Northern Neck! The food is always on point, and it's clean!! The music from the restroom will stick with you! wash your hands!!

Joanna F.

Yelp
Quality has certainly declined; greasy, unseasoned chips, unseasoned burger, and we smelled like grease after only sitting the the restaurant for about 30 minutes.

Christina C.

Yelp
This place used to be so good we were so disappointed! The burgers were dry and really small. The rotisserie chicken sandwich was as really gross, the chicken was ok just dry but it was drowned in a thousand island type sauce which did not compliment the balsamic glaze in the least it was really disappointing. They also don't offer the fries that they used to which were so good and crispy. We really missed some of the items that were removed from the menu. We will not be recommending this place anymore unfortunately

Robert L.

Yelp
Norther Neck Burgers advertises that they have the best burgers in Virginia. So naturally, I tried the lobster roll! Let me start by saying that this place has been real for quite a while. It is very popular amongst travelers in the Northern neck and is located right in the heart of Tappahannock. I've had their burgers before, and they are good. I really appreciated the way that they stay open during Covid and how they handled the carrier business. Onto the review. I ordered the Connecticut style lobster roll. I thought it was really good, although certainly could've used a little more space. My only complaint is that this place is a bit pricey for what you are getting. With a basic tip my meal was $24 without a drink. Still, I think it is worth a stop.

Arden S.

Yelp
I come to NN Burger very rarely when I head back from VA Beach. Started going there when it first opened and they had the BEST burgers around and awesome curly fries and the prices were reasonable. Just ate there today after about a year or so and what a change!! Burger was dry and now costs $13.00 for a patty with cheese and bacon (and I'm sorry, didn't look fresh made but resembled a frozen patty that was not juicy AT ALL). Oh and now instead of the awesome curly fries, they have burnt potato chips that are $6.00 for about 2 cups. Not even edible but the same price as the great fries they used to have. This will definitely be my last time there and I won't be recommending this establishment to anyone else (which I did quite frequently in the past). If you're going to charge gourmet prices you better have gourmet food not something you can get at McDonald's for half the price.

Cathy B.

Yelp
My husband and I had lunch here. The food was outstanding, the service was amazing! This was not our first time and it will not be our last! Just want to let y'all know this place is a true gem. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch- Cathy B.

Valerie N.

Yelp
Truthfully can't speak on behalf of their food aside from their fries (which were fresh and delicious), but our visit was still a 5 star! We had to stop through to feed our baby. The staff was really nice in getting us some warm water. They had some was some live music playing on Thursday lunchtime. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating (dogs allowed outside). Very cool place. We will have to stop by for a true meal next time.

Tracey A.

Yelp
My family and I went to get milkshakes but of course once we got there things changed. My daughter got a burger and a shake. My husband and I got shakes but we all like to have fries with them. Well they don't have fries anymore. Burgers and fries go together! My daughter enjoyed her burger, the shakes were great but the chips were mostly burnt. Staff as always are top notch. We did sit outside which is nice and you can bring your dogs too. BRING BACK THE FRIES!

Stacy W.

Yelp
We stopped in to meet some family on our way back home. I got the truffle burger with bacon and my fiancé got the jalapeño burger with bacon and we got the cheese twisters. The food was good. The burgers were a little overdone for my liking, but it took FOREVER to get our food. Like. An astronomically long time. The family got milkshakes and other burgers. I would come back and get more twisters. The chips are like a dark russet and they are so good. Be prepared to wait, if you come.

Gordon H.

Yelp
Drove out over an hour today to find out that the place has changed entirely... for the worse. The twisted potato chips that had bacon / cheese and the other 3 flavors all gone. Their replacement? Bland potato chips they're passing off for $7. A bag of lays tasted better, and at least lays will salt them.. The cashier was polite, and I had no issue with any of the workers. They all did their job 100% correct. The burger was alright, but I was sad to not see my usual favorite and usual go to - a fried egg burger with bacon and American cheese. I was instead met with an overpriced burger that tasted no different than something I'd get from Wendy's. NN burger, if you all don't revert back to prior ways you'll soon be out of business. Place was a ghost town on a Saturday night at 7:30pm! My friend and I used to say NN burger is best burger in VA, but I wouldn't even rank them close to jack browns or many other establishments in VA. Hope you guys fix things soon!

Arrt T.

Yelp
Maybe I just don't appreciate lobster, but $34 for a roll and chips just didn't feel great after it all. Chips were crisp but i'd steer from the truffle parm signature flavor, coming from someone who always chooses truffle-flavored dishes. Chips were unevenly seasoned; i'd prefer fries if i was to go back. Nice place, quick service. Decor feels homey and inviting. Must be a local favorite. MaybeI'll try again but won't drive out of my way to Tappahanock for the lobster roll.

Jeanette S.

Yelp
Great lobster roll. Was in town a few days and visited more than once. Staff was friendly and kept me up to date with the status of my to go order (not pictured) as I arrived before it was complete. My only wish is that the sauce on the potatoes was more of an even coating and less of a drizzle. Not removing a star over it, just my 2 cents. Everything tasted great!

Rosa M.

Yelp
The food was delicious Rob was very attentive. Great atmosphere they have live music by a very talented guy.

Kelly M.

Yelp
If you are looking for the best burger in the Northern Neck, NN Burger is a MUST! They have two locations, one in Tappahannock and one in Kilmarnock. Sadly, the Kilmarnock location suffered a devastating fire and is currently closed. I am unsure of any future plans to reopen. However, before that location closed, my family and I have been to both locations multiple times. The burgers are always consistent and the original NN Twister Chips are made from a whole ribbon-cut potato and are a MUST! Word to the wise - these are very shareable as they are huge! An added bonus - be sure to go into the bathroom while you are there! You'll thank me later (insert music "wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands!")

Adam B.

Yelp
Been coming here since day 1.... Today will be my last trip in. Place has been slipping for a while, but today did it for me. I have not been in since end of summer last year. Came in today to see that a lot has changed. All the character of this place is gone. It's a shell of its former self. The cool hand wash station my kids love and NN Burger is kinda know for... out of soap. Self order kiosk... gone. (I actually like to order my own) Picture Machine that my daughter loves... broken. The little snack dispenser for pub mix while you wait... gone French fries, wagyu, double meat, tropical shakes... all gone. Usual Sunday live music... gone Let's get down to the order..... The burgers have changed... just not the same. Prices are still through the roof, but the burgers are certainly not Virginias best, that is for dang sure. They need to remove that sign, as it is false advertising. One of two (only two side options now) side choices is the hand cut, made to order chips.... but are actually precooked, under a heat lamp getting soggy while you wait for your burger to come up. I thought their old twister things were bad, these were worse. Super soggy, just wet potatoes, how they made it out of the kitchen is beyond me. The positives... the milkshakes were still good, they have stopped serving some of our favorites that are still listed on the menu, my kids were disappointed. Still have the cool drink machine, but they were out of a lot of flavors. Bottom line, for the money I'd just as well gone to Hardee's. The charm and good eats this place once had are gone. Makes me sad as it was always a cool spot to hit for Sunday lunch heading back from the river. The Kilmarnock location may have physically burnt down, but the ownership is the one causing this location to go down in flames. RIP NN Burger, you will be missed.

Quiana K.

Yelp
Food was great! Staff and service was amazing. Thank you Rob for making our experience enjoyable.

Sean S.

Yelp
I had the top notch burger and my wife had the mahi sandwich and we split an order of the chips. The burger was awesome! She liked the spice on the fish sandwich. We both loved the chips with no toppings. The price for the portions was high tho. Nice staff and live entertainment added to the experience. We will be back!

Leslie T.

Yelp
This burger joint was well worth the trip to find. Tappahanock is a quaint town with a small town feel. Thursday nights might be karaoke night as we saw a very happening karaoke night underway. All the food was good- I'd assume there is nothing bad on their menu.

John K.

Yelp
Rumor has it that this place has the best burgers in Virginia. I took my bike and rode down to Tappahannock to taste it for myself. I ordered their Bacon Bleu Burger and was given order number 37. I sat outside enjoying the weather and a cold draft beer. I heard over the intercom that my order number was ready. When I walked inside to pick it up I was surprised to see another individual who also had order number 37. We spoke to the cook and he stated that they have duplicate numbers which makes it confusing. It looked up my order on the screen my name and said I have four more orders in front of me. When I finally received my Bacon Bleu Burger I was completely disappointed as you can see by the picture. The beef patty was extremely small, the bun was larger than the patty, and the burger tasted previously frozen. I can assure this is am establishment that I will not visit again.

Wes C.

Yelp
I like the food here, but geez. We visited a few days ago. I had only a cheeseburger - no fries or chips - and a bottle of Pepsi. My wife had a crab sandwich (which came with some chips) and a glass of water. The food was fine, but the bill came out to over $40! Value for money got upended with Bidenflation and we won't be dining here again. Too expensive.

J L.

Yelp
So not impressed. It was small, bland and quite disappointing. 5 guys is much better and cheaper. Only thing going for it was beer. Utterly disappointed in driving over one hour for this. Don't waste your time, it's not worth $65 for 2 beers, 2 burgers and a fry (it's all a la carte). And they expected a TIP! Seriously?!?!

Michael V.

Yelp
The burger was definitely not worth $15. Especially without fries. I'm pretty sure y'all are dishing out grass fed beef patties from Costco without seasoning. I came in because I saw the "best burger in VA" sign... far from it. I'd say not even on the level of Five Guys. The atmosphere was so so. The cashier could care less that a customer walked in as there was absolutely no greeting and the ordering situation was a bit confusing. I'd say it was a pretty weird experience.

David J.

Yelp
Service was incredibly friendly - very nice lady at the register gave a great recommendation. Had the breakfast brunch burger and it was delicious. Had a bite of my friend's lobster roll which was also delicious (if a little skimpy on the portion). The kettle chips were very thin and crispy. Tad bit expensive, but well worth it. Definitely stop here if you're passing through!

Ken A.

Yelp
Wow, what a disappointment. My wife and I managed to spend nearly $50 on two undersized and un-tasty burgers, a small fry, and one beer. Honestly, the free trail mix while we waited was the highlight. Will not be back.

Ryan R.

Yelp
This place is crazy unique! From the comical music in the bathroom to the live music in the seating area and from the self-service snack machine to the menu for dogs, this place is one you have to visit. Not to mention the food is pretty good too. My wife and I wanted to keep it simple, so we both ordered the classic cheeseburger with bacon. Not only was it simple but it was simply delicious (cue comical drum beat). Additionally, we ordered homemade chips and fries; they were also delicious. Altogether, the meal was around $35, not too bad. Overall, you have to check this place out. Not only is the establishment unique but the food is great too. However, you can only understand if you go, so go. Enjoy! Side note: They give a military discount.

Chance G.

Yelp
Ok so I've been coming here almost every weekend for a couple months.... Have LOVED IT.... **BUT** I stopped in today and they got rid of the onion rings (which were fantastic) the fries are now these super thin things and I don't have proof but the burger felt different too. Service is great and I love the feeling.... But with all these new crazy changes I probably won't be back now. It really is unfortunate because I have been aggressively bragging about this place for months and now I have to go back on what I told people.

Ben C.

Yelp
I was told this is the place to go. So I took that challenge on. Arrived to this nice cozy location and instantly heard live music from the establishment. It was only lunch time too. There is no waiting just order and find a table that works for your party. Menu is very simple. Ordering was normal and since it was cold we avoided the freak shakes. I ordered the Surprise burger. It had for my liking overcooked the meat. The egg and bacon and hash brown were ok. The NN sauce was tasty and fit the burger. My wife got the classic cheeseburger. Again it was a decent burger but didn't blow me away. We ordered the truffle fries but they were homemade chips. Overcooked and burnt tasting. Truffle oil was to strong. Plus I thought we ordered fries. Maybe will try again.

Yelp
Seldom have I been more disappointed in a primarily because the first two times we ate here we got the Lobster roll which was excellent. For this visit, we wanted to try their Gourmet hamburgers. ("NN Burger") I got the pesto provolone burger. My wife got the Smokehouse bacon blue burger. The burgers turned out to be significantly smaller than what I expected for a $12 hamburger. Even worse, they were a bit dry and had very little flavor. My wife showed me her burger. The bacon and most of the blue cheese was all pushed to one side of the patty. The presentation alone was enough to make you want to send it back. We got our food about an hour and a half before they closed. However about 15 min later - over an hour before they closed, they started breaking everything down. The drink machines, all the utensils, etc. I went back for a refill of tea but they had already dumped it all out. The final insult was the cost. For two small hamburgers, 2 sides and 2 drinks, the cost was $41! And McDonald's makes tastier hamburgers. I may go back further lobster rolls which are superb (as long as it's not near closing time) but NN Burgers can keep their namesake dish.

Yelp
What a place... I'm only giving this four stars because the ambiance and the organization was meh. The food, however, I think about all the time. We came here straight from camping at Belle Isle State Park and we were famished. Ready to chow down. I believe I got a burger with an onion jam and it was drool-worthy. I remember the place being crowded af. It was difficult to find a place to eat and when we did, it was a bar stool. Very close to other people, personal space is not a thing here at lunch time. We all agreed if we were to go again we would get takeout.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by during our weekly date night. We haven't been to N&N burger in several months on account of our wedding, work schedules, etc. We used to find many items we both could eat, myself included as I have several food insensitives. However, we were dismayed to learn they had gotten rid of what seemed to be half of the menu, including the wonderful Mahi Mahi fish sandwich we both loved. The prices had gone way up as well. We both ended up with the rotisserie chicken sandwich (really the only thing left on the menu I could eat!) that cost $15 or more each. We didn't get any sides (again, they got rid of any my husband liked and I never did get any sides prior to this visit) and 2 small drinks. It cost $35 dollars just for 2 mundane sandwiches and soft drinks. They were also out of most of the options in the Cola Freestyle machine they have. The service was also rather slow for a non-busy night. We won't be back.

Yelp
The food was barely okay and the bread tasted stale. The rum drink was tasty but I doubt whether there was rum in it. They were out of root beer. The cashiers were nice and friendly and I hope the one was just in training and it will get better for her, but the one that seemed to be training her was equally disconnected from the job. Their shakes are topped with slabs and gobs of other sugar desserts and its just plain weird. Out the door for $60 buxx for 1 cocktail and 2 mediocre sandwiches with no fries, side or even a pickle. I didnt give just one star because no roaches crawled over my feet while I was there, but 2 stars is almost being generous. There are so many other places you can waste your money.

Yelp
One of the best lobster rolls I've ever had! And that's saying something because someone in my family - my son or yours truly - always orders it if it's on or anywhere near the menu. The chunks of lobster are HUGE, the meat has thankfully been left undisturbed so it can shine on its own, and their house cocktail is to die for. Plus, they use fresh ingredients, are all about customer service (note the snack dispenser), and are involved in the local community (see the sign listing the organizations they support). And unlike those disquieting signs in bathrooms that direct employees to wash their hands (ewww, what about everyone else?), they really, really emphasize hygiene (note the hand washing machine, which sadly was out of order when we were there, and the hilarious soundtrack in the bathroom). You absolutely cannot miss this joint!
