Been coming here since day 1.... Today will be my last trip in. Place has been slipping for a while, but today did it for me. I have not been in since end of summer last year. Came in today to see that a lot has changed. All the character of this place is gone. It's a shell of its former self.
The cool hand wash station my kids love and NN Burger is kinda know for... out of soap.
Self order kiosk... gone. (I actually like to order my own)
Picture Machine that my daughter loves... broken.
The little snack dispenser for pub mix while you wait... gone
French fries, wagyu, double meat, tropical shakes... all gone.
Usual Sunday live music... gone
Let's get down to the order.....
The burgers have changed... just not the same. Prices are still through the roof, but the burgers are certainly not Virginias best, that is for dang sure. They need to remove that sign, as it is false advertising.
One of two (only two side options now) side choices is the hand cut, made to order chips.... but are actually precooked, under a heat lamp getting soggy while you wait for your burger to come up. I thought their old twister things were bad, these were worse. Super soggy, just wet potatoes, how they made it out of the kitchen is beyond me.
The positives... the milkshakes were still good, they have stopped serving some of our favorites that are still listed on the menu, my kids were disappointed.
Still have the cool drink machine, but they were out of a lot of flavors.
Bottom line, for the money I'd just as well gone to Hardee's. The charm and good eats this place once had are gone. Makes me sad as it was always a cool spot to hit for Sunday lunch heading back from the river.
The Kilmarnock location may have physically burnt down, but the ownership is the one causing this location to go down in flames.
RIP NN Burger, you will be missed.
