"Nni Franco U' Vastiddaru For a satisfying mid-afternoon snack, seek out one of the city's ubiquitous walk-up counters. Nni Franco U' Vastiddaru is typical, serving classic street food like arancini (stuffed rice balls) and panelle . The latter is a Palermo specialty: These chunky, chiplike fritters made of chickpea flour are simple yet addictively delicious, with a spritz of Sicilian lemon."

The food here is incredible, the best meal we had in Palermo. The calamari was flavorful and tender. The mixed seafood salad was delicious. Our waiter was patient and helpful.

Beautiful patio, prices are good and it’s about it for the pros They have a big beer menu but only have moretti. The chicken cutlets sandwich is the worst I’ve had. Their traditional pasta were good. Service is rude as expected. 1€ fee per Person to sit down. Keep walking

Best street food we have tried not only in Palermo, but in ALL OF ITALY. Highly recommend stopping by and trying the cuisine if you are in Palermo. Molto Bene!

I noticed a long line forming so quickly joined in, not quite knowing what the attraction was. At the walk up window, you can order sandwiches like milza (spleen and lung) or fried street food like panelle (chickpea fritters). I got the caprese panino and it hit the spot. I loved watching the staff work together. It was like watching a real life episode of "The Bear". Highly recommend a stop here for when you need a bite. They seemed to also have tables where you can sit down but that service seemed a bit slower.

What a great place to try topical Sicilian food, I had Melanzane and Prozione Crostini and both were delicious and amazing. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Google
nothing bad to say about the food: it was cheap, delicious and generous in portions. however the service needs to be improved. we were sit and completely ignored for about 15 minutes before we could stop one waiter and ask to be served. the place was very chaotic and pigeons were flying around the tables which is annoying and unhygienic. we had also to ask for extra bread multiple times before they brought it.

Google
Amazing arancini and sandwiches - you can sit at the restaurant there was quite a line there. If you line up for takeaway expect a hit of a queue, we got the arancini and I got a Pietro sandwich (meatballs and spicy sauce) - both were absolutely stunning and well priced. Service is a bit brusque but they will make sure your order is right and help, just they’re also prepping food for the restaurant so insanity busy. Absolutely must attend for takeaway in Palermo.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch because they have a lot of tables in the shade, very pretty setting. We had some Arancinetta (with meat). And a sandwich with roast pork, sausage, cheese and hot mushrooms. And a side of fries. Well, that's what we tried to order. There was some confusion about the sandwich and fries, so we ended up with a French fries sandwich. Yes, French fries between bread. (See photo). It wasn't hall bad, if you area big fan of carbs.

Yelp
Our first stop on the Palermo food tour and we had a lovely time trying some Sicilian delicacies here this evening. Panelle are Sicilian fritters made from chickpea flour. Fried and delicious and really interesting. Almost breadlike and still flavorful. Croquettes are quite European. These were stuffed with cheese and ham. Yum. The third one was a simple fried cheese. A little messy, a lot delicious. All of this washed down with Sicilian "Forst" biére. I couldn't tell you prices but the restaurant is clean and the staff were friendly. We dined at 6:30pm which is well before the dinner rush begins. A nice spot for a pre-dinner but they do have a full menu of pasta, fishes and sandwiches. [Review 12794 overall, 108 of 2020.]

Yelp
So this morning I decided to try something different and went right instead of left when leaving my hotel. I settled on this place and decided to grab breakfast here since I missed it at the hotel. I had a cappuccino and it was luke warm. I guess the milk really cooled it down. Then I had the meat bbq sandwich and it was pretty good and filling. It was not what I was looking for and that's on me for not checking the menu and paying attention to what type of restaurant it was. It was still good food and in recommend it for good sandwiches.

Yelp
One of the most popular Sicilian street food joints in Palermo is Nni Franco u' Vastiddaru, and its street-facing stall offers a menu of sandwiches with a huge variety of fillings! One of the most classic (and unique) options is the Milza, a sandwich of veal spleen and lung, served on a round seeded roll with grated cheese, which added just the right amount of saltiness. The Arcobaleno was another great selection, made of bresaola (air-dried beef), rocket, tomato, Philadelphia cream cheese, and grated cheese on a long, griddled roll. The saltiness of the beef and grated cheese contrasted perfectly with the refreshing bite of the tomatoes, the creaminess of the Philadelphia, and the bitterness of the rocket. In addition to the sandwiches, we also got a side order of the Insalata Siciliana, made of chopped tomatoes, red onions, and green olives, all topped with an anchovy fillet. Every component of this salad was so fresh and flavorful, and the saltiness of the olives and anchovies enhanced the sweetness of the tomatoes. Overall, this was an absolutely great stop for Sicilian sandwiches, and everything came at an amazing value too!

Yelp
Stopped here for a light appetizer to hold us over to dinner. Nice shaded seating area. Waiter was very helpful. We had panellle, Arrancini, and a beers. Just what we wanted.

Yelp
If you want to experience Palermo street food, you've found the place! Between delishious fare to authentic Italian flare....this is it!

Yelp
Small place which specializes in the much-celebrated street food which Palermo, or Sicily generally is known for. You will find all the staples here, Panino con Panelle, Pani Ca Meusa and so on and so forth. This is a great place for a quick stop while you're roaming the streets at night, as they are open late. There's a seating area too but the most business is happening at the counter, which is evident by the legions of kids on their scooters just outside. Sandwiches and snacks are quite okay, nothing too fancy. They don't claim to be anything else really. Also rather cheap!

Yelp
A local friend recommended this place. It specializes in "street food" (even though it has a full service sit down area). We ordered what is considered one of the most popular street food items on the menu, the Crostini (they come in a 10 piece order). We also tried the Panini with crocche' e Panelle, which was pretty good. Other other order were the swordfish and the roasted chicken. The crostini were by far the tastiest dish, followed by the Panini, they are worth both a try, even if you're just passing by, take a crostini to go.

Yelp
I bought some fried aubergines here. They were ridiculously salty, like so salty that it hurt my mouth. The paninis were ok.
