Google
First time ordering from here. I cannot believe the amount of food you get at such a low price compared to other Chinese take outs in Manchester. And both my wife and I thought the quality and taste was excellent. I would suggest No. 1 to anyone looking for a great meal to go!

John Shaw

Google
The woman was very nice.. and most importantly Im a Chinese food lover...and this place has the absolute best, freshest, most delicious I've ever had. Their spareribs were cooked perfectly. The chicken fingers were perfect. Most places use weird looking rubbery chicken but this tasted great. The pork egg rolls are the best I've ever had. I also got general Tsos chicken. It was good, but under the chicken, there's always a good amount of sauce they use for it and it couldn't have tasted better. Ill drive way out of my way to go here.

Google
While we lived in Bedford we got Chinese from No #1. It was the ONLY place I would go to pick up our order or to have it delivered. Portions are fantastic! Taste was fabulous! And believe me whenever we are in Manchester, we bring some home. A++++++++++++ The atmosphere is non-frills but oh the FOOD!

Francine Santiago

Google
I just spent about $100 on an order of food we got all our sided but no rice. I called and the lady on the phone kept telling me to check my bag that it was in the bag and i insisted that it wasn't. I asked if it can be delivered and she again told me it was in the bag. so I told her just to forget it. so we literally just had a bunch of sides of practically all meat and no rice.. Its safe to say I will not be ordering from this place again. Food that we did get wasn't even that great. I also want to add that there was no fortune in the fortune cookies... lol never again.

Google
I have ordered out many of Chinese restaurants, and I have to say that I was super pleasantly surprised by how absolutely delicious the food was. Every piece of food had a special flavor and a portion that was perfect and my entire family decided that this was their restaurant that we will be taking out from from now on? Then my son is very picky and he only likes fried rice with eggs, no vegetables no nothing and they were very accommodating and I really just can’t say enough good stuff. It’s really good. Please try it.

Google
This is, no joke, the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Got pork and broccoli combo and chicken and broccoli combo and wonton soup. First of all they charged me $3 more than the menu price, and it came to $34. Then as if to make up for it they gave me a free crab Rangoon, except there was no crab, it was a ball of fried cream cheese. Funny, the egg rolls had no pork and the wontons had no filling. The fried wontons in the bag were stale. Barely any pork in the fried rice. The sauce tasted straight out of a jug. This was very low quality. I certainly do not recommend anyone eat here. To the owner,I will take down this review if you give me a refund, card ending in 4658.

Google
We liked the pork fried rice & lo-mein ALOT! Tons of fresh veggies, dish itself was flavorful. Also, we enjoyed the boneless tiny spareribs and eggroll. We did not care for the crab rangoon- shell was overcooked & flat. Chicken fingers are tiny & not your typical big chunky or crispy. Duck sauce is so bland & very watered down... However, we will be back! The positives of the food we liked outweigh the negative.

Google
Was craving a spare rib combo platter and the place I usually go to doesn't have SR combos, so gave this place a whirl off of a recommendation. Great flavor! All of it was good - SR, pork fried rice, egg roll, and fried wontons. The people that run it were really nice as well. Would definitely order again! Edit: recently ordered king pao chicken, as I've never had it before, but there was ZERO spice. Like not even a hint of a kick. Was a little disappointed, but maybe it was a mix up. Next time I order I am sticking with the spare ribs.

Yelp
I love this place so much, they're food always arrives to me hot, they actually know how to cook and package stuff, not to mention I always get full from it. Kind service and they are patient, never been inside the actual store since I usually get deliveries, but from driving by it looks nice and comfortable enough to actually spend time with someone else. This is my go to place for Chinese food and I'm probably never gonna change that.

Janet H.

Yelp
Ordered, steak & chicken teriyaki, spring rolls, egg rolls, pork lo, mein, fried rice, boneless pork ribs. The pork lo me in tasted burnt, one spring roll under cooked, beef teriyaki over cooked. The only food really good was, the rice, chicken, & egg rolls. Very disappointed. Normally their food is very good.

Yelp
So this place is actually really amazing and I can't just leave the 2 start review that I gave them after having eaten there a few more times. I was probably too hard on them. Sure the dirty mushroom grossed me out but I'm sure that isn't their normal standard, and mistakes happen. I have ordered food from here way too many times without a single problem to make that single off experience my main impression. They have amazing food, and its always hot and fresh. If you order online, they have coupons for free stuff when you spend so much. Good stuff too. definitely worth a try

Yelp
No.1 should be called No.2 Got their beef teriyaki with crab Rangoon, and chicken fingers with pork fried rice. Everything tasted like it was reheated. Soggy crab Rangoon, beef teriyaki was tough. Chicken fingers were tough and the coating was soggy. Rice was tasteless and over cooked. Never again.

Yelp
Love this spot, the staff are polite and the food is always ready in 30 minutes. I have tried almost everything off the vegetable/vegetarian section, and it's always very good... especially the general Tso's tofu. Easily one of the best Chinese takeout places in Manchester!

Keri S.

Yelp
THIS PLACE DESERVES NO STARS first time l ordered from here..SADLY DISAPPOINTED ..What a waste of money!!!spent $70..to be delivered a bunch of crap food ..most of it bought frozen..and sold x5 its cost..l couldnt believe a chinese restaurant that would send out a bunch of FROZEN FOOD they claim to ne their own. As my friend Bill said"THE PLACE SHOULD RE-NAME IT SELF.."THE NO 2 CHINESE RESTAURANT " CAUSE THEIR FOOD "IS"((crap))
google avatar

Sue H.

Yelp
How can this place have 3 stars. It's gross . I ordered fried shrimp and they were little mini frozen breaded shrimp

Yelp
Not a bad choice for Chinese take-out. Great portion sizes, average food, and pretty low prices. Ordered delivery because I had a weird craving for Americanized Chinese food (aka broccoli beef and hot & sour soup). Download the "BeyondMenu" app - its very easy and simple to place a pickup or delivery order. Delivery was prompt. I live maybe 3 miles from the place and got my food within 35-40 minutes! The hot & sour soup was not that great. It was watery and wasn't spicy or sour. Kinda like hot water with a buncha tofu and veggies. The fried stuff that it comes with was kind of stale as well. An order of chicken wings comes with 8 wings which I thought was a bargain. The scallion pancakes were just okay. Both the chicken wings and scallion pancakes were very crispy. What's awesome is you get 4 free crab rangoons with an order of at least $20. The cream cheese and crab filling is 97% cream cheese though. But that's okay, they ARE free! The beef lo mein is cheap, decent, and not too greasy. Noodles are soft and beef is tender. The beef & broccoli was pretty solid - its your standard beef & broccoli. Good flavors, well cooked broccoli, and once again...very tender beef.

Erin C.

Yelp
Highly recommend the egg foo yung.....I think it's the best I've ever had! Lo mein was also delicious. Nothing was greasy. Took a star off because I didn't care for the sauces. And honestly the food didn't need it.

Richard W.

Yelp
It seems like a take-out place with only paper plates and styrofoam containers, which is a little off putting, but the food tasted delicious and this place had a lot of options to choose from. It's reasonably priced and as long as you don't care about the small area that the restaurant is in you'll love it!

Yelp
Food is excellent and plentiful. Prices are great. Staff is very friendly. What is not to like! Strongly recommend

Catherine R.

Yelp
The exact American Chinese food I was looking for. Not really a spot to eat at but great take out and very friendly staff.

Yelp
Nice and clean compared to the last Chineese joint that was here before this one. Was approached at the register and he welcomed me to no1. Ordered the general gaos chicken with crab rangoons instead of soda and soup the lunch special. Was under 7.00 Prices are great. The signs above the register are pretty cheesy. Got a sample of the Thai tea. It was really good totally an acquired taste imagine creamy hot tea. Kinda describes it . Food: is wow amazing Chineese For a small take out place it's really good the general gaos chicken was really good had enough sauce rice was good veggies seemed fresh. For the price lunch special is a++ here Rangoons are good if you like lots of cream cheese in there The hot mustard was very good. I would totally come here again thanks for making first experience a good one.
google avatar

Cathy M.

Yelp
One meal, four eggrolls and 4 crab rangoon for 37.00, What a bargain for cashew chicken with peanuts instead of cashews and chewy chicken. I called the restaurant and a very angry man basically told me too bad. Overpriced and apparently zero customer service. I'd rather eat cold McDonald's than eat here again. If it could be zero stars to match it would be.
google avatar

Dawn S.

Yelp
This was absolutely the WORST chinese food I have ever had. Everything in my daily special tasted the same-blah. The sauces - duck and sweet and sour were also Terry le. Was hoping they would cover the taste of the food. not one of the 3 of us liked the food
google avatar

Meghan Z.

Yelp
This used to be our go-to when we first moved here! Then it went down hill, and FAST. First it was that the delivery guy took our pick-up order with him and we waited 20 mins for him to bring our food back. Then a few weeks later came the RAW pork pieces in my fried rice and stone cold chicken fingers and crab rangoon. I won't be coming back here until I hear something has changed. Don't waste your money.

Yelp
Very good food. Best pork lo mein in Manchester. Always fresh and hot owners very friendly. Always done on time

Stephanie M.

Yelp
I ordered lo mein and believe me I'm not picky I hardly ever complain but this was the most disgusting lo mein I've ever seen in my life. The pork meat was a mixture between red and gray. The shrimp was brown. The vegetables were limp and soggy and the chicken was full of big fatty pieces. Most of it ended up in the garbage
google avatar

Lorenzo A.

Yelp
Best crab rangoon and egg rolls out of all the Chinese restaurants around. Pork fried rice was great. Delicious General T'sos Chicken. Orange chicken was not great. Probably wouldn't order that again. My kids love their veggie lo mein. They also give you a small freebie with large orders. DO NOT SKIP those egg rolls!

Sharyn H.

Yelp
I ordered take out. Read some reviews on here and figured we would give it a go. This is the worst Chinese i have ever had. The rice looked like it sat for days. I actually was throwing up all night. We had the pu pu platter, pork fried rice and beef lo mein. Needless to say...NO 1...NOT.

Yelp
True to it's name, this is my go to Chinese in Manch, and I've tried them all. I am from New York City, capital of Chinese takeout.... this moo shu is THE BEST I have ever had. Egg drop soup is pretty awesome too. Everyone that I've ordered this for has been happy. Only downside is that sometimes delivery takes a little more than an hour.
google avatar

Parker R.

Yelp
Good food and great service. I ordered delivery. I can't speak for the time it took. I wasn't paying much attention to the time, but I wasn't sitting there wondering where my food was. Most places that deliver to my building simply ring the buzzer and make you come meet them at the front door. Not this guy! Not sure who let him in as I was never paged, but he came in and came right to my door. The food showed up piping hot. It was as if I had just cooked it in my own kitchen and ate it right out of the pan. I have never had anything from anywhere delivered that was actually that hot. We liked just about everything except the hot and sour soup. I did like that there was a ton of substance to it. Not just a bowl of broth with one chunk of tofu and a couple pepper flakes. Unfortunately, there was not a ton of flavor. You got a little spice, but that's it. Not bad, but I would not go out of my way to order it again. The rest on the other food was good. The eggrolls and crab rangoons were big and stuffed. Generals chicken was good. Zero complaints here.I will definitely try them again!

Yelp
This is my go-to for Chinese. The staff are very nice and the food is delicious. I appreciate that they have several vegan options available.

Yelp
No. 1 Chinese Restaurant opened last Friday in the former Golden Roll on Queen City Ave. The place went through minimal renovation which is an order at the counter place with open kitchen and self serve table seating. I stopped in here for lunch takeout recently. I ordered the L24 Shrimp Lo Mein ($5.75) with Pork Fried Rice & Wonton Soup and Steamed (Pork) Dumplings ($5.25) and I was given a 10 percent grand opening discount. While I was waiting for my order, the owners gave me complementary hot tea and a homemade cheese stick, which was crunchy on the outside filled with hot soft mozzarella cheese inside. I would definitely order the cheese sticks on the next visit. The food was ready to go in under 10 minutes. The lo mein dish had a mix of tender shrimp (some cleaned), carrots & onions in soft noodles. The fried rice (tan) was soft and had small pieces of sweet roast pork, onions, and soybeans. The wonton (3) soup had soft wontons filled with minimal ground pork in a clear chicken broth. The steamed dumplings (8) with dumpling sauce were not the big kind, each filled with a small ball of ground pork and mainly thick firm dough shell. Anyways, the food tasted good and fresh and I would order Chinese takeout from No 1 of Manchester again! PARKING: A tight fit and may be difficult to exit left during busy traffic.

Kathleen D.

Yelp
This was the first time we tried No1. It was awesome!!! It's by far one of the tastiest Chinese restaurants we've tried in sometime here in Manchester. We will definitely be coming back!! Great experience.
google avatar

Scott E.

Yelp
Crab Rangoon, Sesame Chicken, and Mongolian Beef were all pretty good. I'll be back.

Jitts G.

Yelp
Awesome food, great customer service. Will be a customer fo life ya herrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abby W.

Yelp
Their food is pretty good! My fiancé and I ordered general tso chicken, spring rolls, shrimp and veggies, veggie chow mein, and terriaki beef. Everything tasted good. Unfortunately, we received chicken instead of shrimp with the veggies, and normally veggie chow mein has noodles but theirs is made with crispy noodles which it said at the top of the description but with fried dough like pieces which I wasn't expecting. We called the restaurant back thinking that they messed up our noodle order but were explained the difference but we still told them about the chicken mixed up. They felt badly and offered to send more, we said that wasn't necessary and they offered to add it to our next order. That was already very kind. Then the manager called and said he was sending the shrimp and noodles. This was way above and beyond and very kind. Very great management!
google avatar

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Good lo mein, and just okay fried rice. The General Tso's Chicken was standard, but probably would have tasted better if I had eaten it at the restaurant instead of doing takeout. Warning: parking lot is small and can only be accessed from Queen City heading north towards Elm.
google avatar

Kristin P.

Yelp
Stopped in craving crab rangoon, and they certainly delivered! I would say #1 in my book for crab rangoon, and fantastic home-made hot mustard! I will definitely recommend to friends, and will be stopping in again for sure. Keep up the great work!
google avatar

Judy R.

Yelp
Been ordering here 3 times so far? We love the General Gau's Chicken with the Veggie fried rice. Taste good every time. All the employees there are very friendly and pleasant. Very place. Quick service as well!
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Not great. Large portions for the price but the food was lacking. Fried rice was crunchy and undercooked, egg drop soup was thin and bland, everything was just kinda under seasoned and lacking flavor.

Joseph B.

Yelp
Stopped there for a quick lunch today. Had the General Gao lunch special. Came with wonton soup and pork fried rice. Food was freshly cooked and piping hot! One of the least expensive lunches you can get in Manchester, and very good! No ambience, but food was hot and tasty! Large menu - will go there again.

Nikki S.

Yelp
Really excellent and fresh Chinese. When we moved to the area we were recommended another local spot that was way overrated. The food was overpriced and dry. We decided to give No.1 a try since it was close by our new house. We are so glad we did! This will be our go to for Chinese. Everything is so fresh and flavorful!
google avatar

Luz R.

Yelp
I came by to this restaurant out of curiosity because it had a grand opening. What I got was outstanding customer service. The food is amazing and very organized very very pretty. This has become my ''No 1 Place to order chinese food from in Manchester'' . The inside is very clean and very comfortable to sit and eat with family.
google avatar

Petr M.

Yelp
No. 1 not a chance in hell more like 113. Oh and your location sucks like your food. To close to the rehab clinic but just close enuff to urgent care.
google avatar

Gina M.

Yelp
The food here is ok. Sometimes it's great and others it's so so. (Like sometimes the crab rangoons are crispy and sometimes they are soggy) Not my number one choice but it's super close by so we give them a try every once in a while to see what we get.

Chris M.

Yelp
Still eating here since they opened up. Very good portion sizes. Awesome boneless spareribs, best in Manchester by far. The sesame chicken is very good, so isn't the orange chicken and general tso's chicken. Always clean and friendly staff. They deliever and usually pretty fast.
google avatar

Haley D.

Yelp
Hands down best Chinese in the city. Great prices,Beef teriyaki was phenomenal! Crab Rangoon was really good to. Definitely ordering from them again!
google avatar

Courtney B.

Yelp
I have never once eaten here before and I've had a lot of Chinese food(s) & ordered food for delivery/made reservations(at higher end Chinese restaurants back home in VT! Once I placed my order I was told anywhere between 30-45 minutes. Well after waiting patiently and finally had gotten our son to fall asleep, I was still waiting so I called the restaurant wondering where and when I'd be recumbent food order? I also told me I had been waiting clearly by this time over one full hour on a Tuesday later on dinner to bring to work with me for my overnight shift that evening. As I. Called them 3 times all three times the phone line made the BUSY SIGNAL NOISE(very annoyed by that), I ended up speaking to manager and he couldn't tell me when he'd be here or even offered to call him to see where he was with ALL the deliveries they had lastnight! So I waited over 25 more minutes and the man showed up with dirty clothes and dirt and grease all o Er himself including in his nails, hair, skin, etc... NOT TO MENTION as soon as I opened my door all I smelled was a very strong heavy smell of cigarettes which then I started the beginning stages of yet my 27th migraine just this past month of October ! And the food was semi ok nothing I haven't had 1000 times before but I don't believe I'll be using them if my regular Chinese take out restaurants are open.

Yelp
It is unfortunate how a good company goes bad. In the beginning food was good hot and relatively fast. the last two times ordering for a delivery, once online AFTER the time it showed for the delivery I received a phone call asking me to come pick up my food...Didn't I just pay for the delivery (for a reason?) so they told me o.k. they would have the cook bring it...OVER an hour later I called looking for my delivery to be asked If I still wanted it! REALLY!!! Second time the food showed up (called in the order) BUT the soup was in the bottom of the bag, NOT in the container. I called and tried to explain, only to be told I would be sent out another one...SO Sorry...Now two hours later I'm still waiting; so I called again...Again they ask me Oh you still want soup! It such a shame a good place gone BAD! waited for the soup so now I eat COLD FOOD! Not a way to keep customers!
google avatar

Peter S.

Yelp
I don't understand the previous 5 star reviews. The food wasn't nearly as good as people have stated. As far as portion size goes, I ordered large appetizers hoping to feed four of us. They gave us 6 chicken fingers. They had thin tempura batter and didn't taste good at all. The chicken had a funky taste to it, so we threw them out. The crab Rangoon was pretty decent and the portion size wasn't bad but when you bite into it, the cream cheese squirts out because the wonton is flat rather than the normal style folded 4 corners. Wouldn't go here again
google avatar

Nadia P.

Yelp
I got a completely different order from what I ordered and it wasn't even that good. The fried battered chicken was dry that I refused to eat.. I wouldn't order here again.
google avatar

Phyllis G.

Yelp
Very clean. Customer service was awesome. Food was hot and fresh. It was delicious and they even gave us a free order of crab Rangoon. Will definitely go back. We had been told to go here from a professor at school and we were not disappointed.

Lisa M.

Yelp
I placed my order 7 hours in advance. They ran out of beef teriyaki because no matter how far in advance you order, they will not save food for your order. They called to tell me that they ran out of the beef teriyaki AT the time my order was due for delivery. They told me they would give me a cash refund. Of course, my order was delivered over an hour late. The driver knew nothing about providing a refund. It took me 20 minutes of attempting to call the restaurant to actually get through. The driver then had to give me his tips as a refund!!! The food was cold and they did not include dry noodles for the chow mien, sauce for the steamed dumplings, soy sauce or duck sauce. It was extremely disappointing.
google avatar

Amalia O.

Yelp
Decent Chinese food with fresh vegetables. The customer service was great and was given complimentary edamame. Not too of the line, but would probably return.
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Rangoon's are excellent. Lo Mein was very good. Fried rice was less than average. Service is friendly. Food was hot.
google avatar

Lenny L.

Yelp
This place was good. Awesome Chinese food and good cost of quality. Sure I will come again with family and friends as well. Best Chinese food in a city.

Jessica R.

Yelp
Food was good! I love that they called later in the day to make sure our order and foos were up to par! Delivery service was fast would deffintly reccomend
