"When it gets to the thermals-under-pyjamas level of cold, the hearty birria from Birria Taco, inside Dar Marrakech on Edgware Road, is the answer. It's a casual spot, with a shisha cafe past the toilets, and a dining room with big group tables and speedy service. The tacos are excellent, and are enough reason to pop in here for a laid-back, post-work dinner. And the rich broth, soft ramen noodles, and tender, stringy, slow-cooked beef birria is the kind of comforting dish that will warm you from the inside out. The birria here is also notorious for leaving its mark on whatever you’re wearing, so we’d recommend making a makeshift bib with tissues before getting started." - Rianne Shlebak

I wish we had a No 1 Taco in Fayetteville, NC because this place is a true gem! It’s a refreshing blend of modernism and authentic Mexican with a mix of American food that’s hard to find. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The portion sizes are huge, so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth. Whether it’s tacos, burritos, or any of their other offerings, you can count on leaving with a full stomach and a satisfied smile. The service is impressively fast, and the restaurant is spotless—clearly, they take great pride in maintaining a clean and comfortable environment. What makes No 1 Taco even more special is that it’s family-owned and operated. The family-oriented vibe is palpable, and it’s clear they put a lot of love and care into everything they do. If you’re ever in Virginia Beach, make sure to stop by No 1 Taco. It’s an experience you won’t want to miss, and I can only hope they consider opening a location in Fayetteville someday!

My wife and I had an amazing experience at this spot. I had the beef burrito, and my wife had the tacos al pastor, and both dishes were absolutely fantastic. The beef burrito was perfectly grilled, with a crispy exterior and packed with juicy, flavorful beef and fresh ingredients inside. It was hearty and satisfying—every bite was a delight! The tacos al pastor my wife had were out of this world. The pork was seasoned beautifully, tender, and cooked to perfection. Topped with fresh cilantro and onions, and with a squeeze of lime and the delicious sauces on the side, these tacos were some of the best we’ve ever had. The portions were generous, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be returning and recommending this place to friends and family. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic, delicious Mexican food!

This place is a solid 10/10 🌟 The staff is super friendly, & helpful. Food is delicious 😋 We are Socal Native ( husband, & I ). We been living in VA for a year( Navy orders). It's been quite the struggle finding decent Mexican taco truck type tacos. Quite honestly, I given all hopes up😭 Im so glad we gave No.1 Taco a try! They're pretty close to Socal st. tacos!!! In addition, they have a delicious strawberry orchata, so, so GOOD! You MUST try😋 I strongly recommend this place💯💯 Pictures are from two different times. We been to No. 1 tacos twice🫶🏽 Both times 10/10 🌟 Amazing experience🥳🥳🥳

Inside had nice decor, very causal, but also dirty. There were empty tables that weren’t wiped down and the floor was dirty and sticky. You order at the counter. Staff wasn’t super friendly but service was quick. Decent-sized menu and the food itself was okay. They loaded up the tacos with meat but overall it lacked flavor. The horchata wasn’t great either. They have a variety of salsas to choose from, which did add some flavor to food. Maybe I came on an off day but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

Google
This is a festive Mexican restaurant. It's counter service here, but the food quality is just like a full service restaurant. It actually seems to be faster. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's fairly new; fresh and clean with vibrant colors all around. There's Mexican music playing in the background. Prices are reasonable. Do not expect the usual complimentary nachos and salsa. The food was tasty and fresh. The Birria tacos were excellent. The burrito was a delicious sloppy mess. They lightly fry the outside of the burrito shell, giving it just enough crispness. I will be back.

If you are looking for authentic tacos look no further No 1 Taco has tacos that has similar flavors to the west coast. Inside was kinda dirty and the floors were sticky but it didn’t bother me as much. I was there for at least 30mins and didn’t see anyone wipe down the tables. You know this place is good when they have a steady amount of customers coming in and out. I got the taco with carnitas it was juicy and flavorful. I unfortunately was not a fan of the horchata even though it’s my go to drink. I do love that they had the side bar with all the different type of sauces. Definitely coming back to this place for taco Tuesday.

Google
I'm so happy that this place opened up! It's practically a SoCal taco shop transplanted in VB. There's even a salsa counter with pickled veggies. The food is the main focus, and it shows. Unlike the other Mexican restaurants in the area, the menu is slimmed down. What they do make, they make very well. The tacos are simple - tortillas, chopped onions, cilantro, and your protein of choice. This focuses the attention on the meat, which is the main point. The last time I was here, I had the SoCal burrito with carne asada and grilled shrimp. Like a good Philly cheesesteak, this was literally dripping with flavor. If you order the burrito, do not make plans immediately after because this will put you to sleep better than Ambien. Well worth the money and food this good demands return visits!

Google
Food was delicious! Portions are huge! Best Mexican food we’ve had since moving here 8 months ago. The burrito bowl hands down beats the “other bowl” place. Husband devoured the NorCal Burrito.

Yelp
I ordered the carne asada tacos with a side of rice and beans and paired it with a cucumber lime agua fresca, and wow--this place never disappoints. The steak in the tacos was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. They don't skimp on the portions either--these tacos were stuffed with perfectly seasoned steak, fresh cilantro and onions. One of my favorite ways to enjoy these tacos is over my rice and beans--every little spill turns into a bonus bite of deliciousness! The rice and beans are the perfect sides to round out the meal. But the real star here is the fresh salsa bar. If you dine in, you get free access to an incredible assortment of house-made salsas, fresh radishes, cucumbers, and pickled veggies. (Pro tip: If you order to go, the salsa is worth the little extra cost.) The cucumber lime agua fresca was the perfect finishing touch--refreshing, crisp, and not overly sweet. Whether you're craving bold flavors or something light and satisfying, this spot has it all.

Yelp
First time here and was very impressed with everything! Standouts was the grilled chicken in the burrito, had so much flavor and just overall the burrito was delicious! Another standout was the kiwi strawberry Fresca. So delicious! The horchata was also very good but wish I had some extra milk add bc even for my sweet tooth was almost too sweet! I wish the pico had a better ratio of onion to tomato and maybe just got a batch with a lot of onions. Chips were good and the queso. Lots of salsa and sauce selections. Some very hot but clearly labeled. Service was great as they were happy to answer any questions since we were new. It's inside a strip mall and not too fancy inside but lots of tables available to sit inside.

Isaiah V.

Yelp
Great place!! Two burritos and chips and queso for $36. For a fast causal restaurant however it was a little bit pricy equaling the price of a sitdown Mexican restaurant but it was fine. Service was great and inside reminded me of a more hometown chipotle feel. It was great I'd go here again however be wary a little pricy.

Yelp
We've heard raving reviews about No. 1 Tacos since they were still at the KFT location and are now in Buckner Blvd. We finally decided to try it; I felt we were missing out. We had ordered tacos, queso, chips, and fried plantains, and all the dishes were delicious. I loved the birria taco and the fried plantains the most. The fried plantains were served with dulce de leche, which reminded me of a Filipino snack called Banana Que. Other options are also available, such as rice bowls, burritos, birria ramen, and hotdogs. The salsa bar added some extra spice to our tacos as well. Their location reminds me of the taquerias in California. The prices are reasonable and affordable. The staff were amiable and pleasant. The only thing I wish they would change is their menu. I was so confused when I was reading it. I wasn't sure which meats to go with especially when ordering the street tacos. Next time, I will try their Al Pastor. No. 1 Tacos exceeded my expectations. We highly recommend this Mexican eatery.

Yelp
After living in San Diego, I find it difficult to find taco shops that I love. San Diego is the taco shop hub and they're all fantastic. No 1 Taco has been on my list because someone suggested that this may be close to what I had when I lived there and that sounded great to me! Location is easy and convenient, lots of parking and a good amount of seating inside. You order at the counter and seat yourself. I did like that they had a salsa bar.. this was the first sign that this may be similar to the shops I loved in SD. They have picked veggies and 4 different salsas to choose from. I grabbed their two salsa verdes (mild and medium) and both were pretty good. I ordered their Chorizo Brunch Burrito and a Chile Relleno. I requested both refried beans and sour cream on my burrito, but they refused to do that, which is my only true complaint. It's my favorite way to get a breakfast burrito: meat, eggs, cheese, potatoes, refried beans and sour cream. My go-to order. It was disappointing that they couldn't do that and I instead had to order a whole side of refried beans and put it on myself. When I did do this, it was delicious. Hopefully in the future, they might let me order it the way I prefer, but if not, I would still get the same and put it together myself. The Chile Relleno was nothing great. No sauce and a bit bland. In the future, I definitely want to try their lengua tacos; another favorite of mine!

Yelp
Excellent burritos! Way better than anything else in the area. My husband is a Chipotle junkie, but I might have converted him.

Jessica J.

Yelp
I placed my order over the phone for pick up and the woman I spoke to was very nice. She made recommendations and answered all of my questions. She gave me an estimate of when my order would be ready and it was ready and packaged up waiting for me when I arrived. I got the SoCal Burrito with French Fries and Carne Asada as my protein. The burrito was so big and loaded with flavor. All of the ingredients married well together and it was so filling that I couldn't even finish the entire thing alone. This was my first time trying Birria Ramen and I was not disappointed. The birria is made with pork and it was seasoned well and the broth was very rich and delicious. The agua frescas were very refreshing and not too sweet. I will come back for another burrito for sure!

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while so i stopped by for lunch. They moved to Buckner Blvd close to the DMV. I placed my order by phone for the chorizo fries. I wanted to substitute the guacamole for pico but they don't do that unfortunately... That sucks because its just a couple extra tomatoes, you'd think the guac was worth more. But i got over it. When i got there the fries were done. The girl at the register was nice. I paid and got toppings for my fries. They have a condiment section with a few different salsas, pickled onions, carrots, jalapeños, and cucumbers... I'm glad i tried it. All the crunchy textures made it even better. I'm glad they have this option because you can customize your meal for free!!! It was a good portion and tasted pretty good. I do wish the fries were crispier. Their foods pretty good here and I'll certainly return. Check them out!!!

Yelp
Tacos and Burritos are amazing. Legit my only go to spot in Va Beach. Everywhere else gets put to shame. I'm not trying to out this place on a pedestal.. but I just think the food matches the price and not many places fill me up. The NorCal burrito is where it's at. Only wish they had salsa for the chips BUT that don't matter in comparison.

Jaida B.

Yelp
food is great has many options to choose from always amazing service quick and friendly the inside is very clean and spacious with lots of seating 100/10

Alexa A.

Yelp
The best Mexican food in VB. Don't go anywhere else. Especially if you're from California great portions Carne asada

William C.

Yelp
Authentic Mexican restaurant. If you truly love authentic Mexican cuisine, this is your place. Be prepared to have your taste buds WOW'd!

Catherine J.

Yelp
In search of the perfect California burrito for my ocean beach, CA transplant. And we found it! He said it's the best one he's had in VA so that's saying a lot. We also enjoyed the carrots and chicken rolled tacos. The service was quick even on a busy day. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
It is rare for me to come to Virginia Beach on a workday, but on the way to another spot for Yelp Elite week, I made a pit stop here for an early dinner after leaving work from Portsmouth. Based on the number of reviews, checking it out seemed to be the best route. But the result wasn't what I expected. When I walked inside, I was greeted by the front of the house. The decor is clean and neat, very spacious. You go up to order your meal once you come in. I chose a quesadilla with pollo chicken with a side of fries. In ten minutes, it was ready for eating. First off, the fries were actually pretty good. Crunchy and hot. A little salty, but tasted just fine for me. Now here comes an issue. For many quesadillas I've eaten before, you would have your choice of protein to go with cheese and veggies (i.e. peppers, onions, mushrooms). For this one, it was just chicken and cheese.....lots of chicken and cheese. And unfortunately, a whole lot of grease. Not good at all. It didn't even come with sour cream, guacamole and pico. I couldn't even finish half of it fearing it would give me a bad stomach or heartburn. A very dissapointing visit. I really hope this was a bad day because no one should walk away with a greasy dish like mine. Most likely, I won't come back :(

Yelp
I stumbled across No. 1 Taco accidentally when they were at a shared location with Kung Fu Tea. My husband and I both ordered the Birria Tacos (3) for our first time and after that we were addicted. We went back multiple times in a month and went back and forth between the Carne Asada Burrito (SoCal style) and Birria Tacos. I even got my brother hooked since it's the closest burrito he'll get out here, to burritos in San Diego. That was the Cali seal of approval. A busy restaurant means it's good and they are always busy. They since moved to their own location nearby JoYu in VA Beach and everything just got better. They have a wider range of options, desserts, drinks, and self serve toppings/sauces. Tres Leches Oreo Cake is served only on weekends and let's be honest... we need a huge pan of it. The Strawberry Kiwi Agua Fresca is super refreshing and not too sweet. It's probably my favorite drink now. I stick with my usual order but my next visit, I'll step out and try more of what they offer now. Service is always friendly even during a rush and they take their time explaining items to first timers. There's music playing, lively decorations, a good amount of seating, and lots of natural sunlight. Our order usually sits between $35-45 with drinks but everything is filling. You can get your food to go or eat in. Coming from Hampton, No. 1 taco will continue to be one of our regular spots and is well worth the drive.

Norra P.

Yelp
I am pretty sure my husband and I found our favorite taco shop in town... We will give other shops a try but this is definitely at the top so far in the area. We moved here recently and lived in San Diego for a while... these tacos are probably as close as I can get for the area. The salsa bar with the jalapeno and radish did me in. It took me back to having a proper street taco. Staff was so friendly and excited to tell me what they served and had available. I mentioned mangonada and they were like ready to make me one. I had to skip the mangonada this trip because I was here for the birria and carne asada. The birria here is good. like pretty darn good. I'm going back for more. My husband ordered the SoCal burrito. He loved it. He is pretty particular about his cali burrito and this place did not miss the mark. The music is a vibe here. I was embarrassing my husband dancing in my chair. The restaurant is clean and has bright decor that you just can't help but be happy. Restrooms are well maintained and very clean. Salsa bar is only available for dine-in I believe per their sign.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Run, don't walk, to this taco hotspot for some of the best birria tacos around! I haven't had their burritos yet but that's next on my list. The tacos come with limes and salsas that are prepared with care. The meat is melt in your mouth flavorful, and some of the best tacos I have found outside of San Diego (lived there for a few years). Thanks to the staff for always giving friendly service, it truly feels like a neighborhood spot. The dining room is casual and welcoming, I like that it's counter service if you want a quick meal. Hurry in before everyone knows about this place!

Lai Wun C.

Yelp
Feeling like having some taco and I see people kept going in so I went in to give it a try. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Food was phenomenal. I ended up getting a steak burrito and I'm not disappointed. Look at that burrito(picture), it was a little less than $16(tax included) but it can feed a family. It was stuffed with steak, rice, beans and guacamole. The tortilla was slightly seared/baked and it was suppppper good. Definitely coming back for their tacos and Elote next time!

Anthony A.

Yelp
Sometimes they blast their music a bit too load... I sit as far away as I can from speaker system with all the lights... bring yer ear plugs, bruh!

Rebecca C.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place. This place made me nostalgic and home sick. With the ability to pour my own salsas, and the cutest indoor seating this place reminded me of taquerias in San Antonio. The women working the register were so sweet, and almost convinced me to give them all my money. I will be back to try what I didn't buy though. I ordered the birria quesadilla, horchata, and a tres leches. The birria was not what I was used to, but it didn't disappoint. The horchata was the best one I've had in the 757 hands down. The tres leches... that was the perfect way to finish the meal. I will be back again because I need some elote. I highly recommend this place.

Khaterin A.

Yelp
ohmygosh I've been going to this place since it shared a space with kungfu tea!! I love the food here!!! The burritos are my fav! They are the size of a baby! Packed with meat and great seasoning!! I recently took my family that was in town visiting and they LOVED IT!! Also tried the birria tacos for the first time and they were delicious! The people are super nice! All they need is some margaritas 10/10 always recommend!

Briana O.

Yelp
Right when you walk in this restaurant has a fun and bright ambiance - to add there was already several families enjoying their meals. I was greeted by staff with sunny dispositions and "happy to help" attitudes. The young girl at the register was very helpful- gave excellent recommendations and the owner was just as lovely and gave an insight to follow them on Instagrams for weekly specials - i am waiting for pozole specifically. To cover the food, absolutely nothing disappointed. Authentic roots, exceptional flavors and they do NOT skimp on the portions. The lengua was perfection - this is very easy to get wrong and they nailed it. The salsas the come with the tacos were, as Guy Fieri says, FLAVORTOWN. The NorCal burrito was bigger than my head and dripping with flavor - it also came with Birria sauce for dipping which was divine. Not pictured but also, I got the Mango Agua Fresca and a carne asada sope. They aren't pictured because I devoured them before I could take a picture - 10/10 this will be my families new local taco spot.

Robert B.

Yelp
Great menu, fresh food, prompt service, and really enjoyed our meal. Rolled Tacos were the best. The smoked Chipotle sauce was awesome!

Rosie G.

Yelp
Tastes just like being in SoCal. So yummy!! The young gal working the counter wasn't extremely friendly but that's OK, food made up for it.

Mary-Ann L.

Yelp
Second time here. As expected, great value for your buck, well seasoned street tacos, choose 3 for $12.99. Additional for other proteins other than chicken or pork. We ordered 2 al pastor snd 1 steak. Sauces and additional Toppings like pickled carrots, radish, etc and 4 more sauces are at a self-serve counter. There's Latin music blasting from a stand up speaker that has kaleidoscope of colors. Streamers overhead, very festive indeed! The tortilla is super thin , my 1 complaint since they overstuff the tacos but can't get the tortilla to hold! Service at the order counter was great, they were patient to explain what choices you have. Lots of takeout orders.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
This was my first time trying this gem of a restaurant but my family has been many times. Everything we had was so good and tasted more authentic than a typical Mexican spot. The birria tacos were great as well. Also this burrito probably weighed at least a pound.

Sam E.

Yelp
I love street tacos and I was pleasantly surprised when my friend and I stopped in for lunch. The tripa is fried so it's nice and crunchy. The lengua is tender and flavorful. Both very good and both are considered premium protein. Friend had a carne asada burrito and she also really liked it. Service was ok. Will definitely come back.

Jb L.

Yelp
My cousins from Chula Vista California put me on to this place, and boy am I thankful. The burrito was the size of my forearm. The Carne asada fries were amazing. Me and mines like to talk once the burrito hit the table, it was silence for next hour. Food was prompt, and service was just ok, but when your product is this good service is a after thought. If your from southern California and want taste of home or if your from earth and love good food this is your spot.

Christina N.

Yelp
Came here for Taco Tuesday with a friend on 1/24/23. No 1 Taco at the end of 2022 relocated to the Target shopping center on Princess Anne Rd, next to the DMV. There is plenty of parking. Very casual - You order at the counter, let them know for here or to go, and wait for your number to be called when your food is ready. It was around 4pm and they seemed to have a steady crowd trickling in with a mixture of To-go and eat in orders. They offer a weekday special from 2-5pm that changes with the days of the week and on Tuesday it is $3 original meat tacos and $4 premium tacos. I was happy with the ease of ordering and how quickly the food came out. Beware that the Birria Tacos are messy! Very oily but so good. Don't wear your favorite outfit here!! Or bring a bib. I only wish they had more cheese on them. Both my friend and I enjoyed our choices. There are a variety of tables and half booths with also bar seating along the windows. I appreciate the fact that they have pull down shades to help keep the sun out of your eyes and keep the temp regulated inside. There is a simple soda fountain but also bottled drinks. I saw another table order a few different types of juices? Might have to look into that my next trip. Great family owned restaurant and I hope they stay busy! I am definitely telling all of my friends about this place and I can't wait to try more dishes from them.

Britt D.

Yelp
Great food. I wish they didn't cut the burrito in half in the aluminum foil, gets foil in the burrito.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Elote was amazing, shrimp tacos on point. They have a salsa bar for your meal. Great spot.

Yvette L.

Yelp
From Cali been on the lookout for good Mexican food. I Was dissapointed with the birria at this place.I got catfished on TikTok. I don't know if the locals never had REAL birria but this was so watered down. 100% recommend La Patrona for real birria. You'll get your moneys worth there! Their salsas were flavorless here too. The "red" one just tasted like tomato.

Patrick P.

Yelp
Absolutely stunned on how authentic and delicious No 1 Taco is! Pack your appetite because the portions are huge! I ordered a steak burrito California style with French fries and it was humongous! The burrito is at least twice the size of a normal chipotle order. The steak was marinated perfectly! The service was great! You can tell they take a lot of pride in the food. The ambiance makes you feel like your in a local Mexican food restaurant! I'll definitely be going back!

Tracey H.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've seen people on Facebook RAVING about the food here. I mean they were saying this is the closest to REAL Southern California Mexican food there is...... I say SIIIIIII I was in the neighborhood for an appointment and placed a web order to pick up. When I tell you what I ordered, don't judge. I'm fat. So this is what I ordered; 1) carne asada burrito southern Cali style (because beans and rice DO NOT belong in a burrito) 2) carne asada fries 3) milanesa torta 4) carnitas quesadilla Everything was fantastic. The fries unfortunately were soggy by the time I made it home but understandably not their fault at all.....well wait, it IS their fault for only having one location in the guts of Virginia Beach. What a shame ‍. Let me tell you that this place would make BANK in north Suffolk by the military post on college drive. BAY-BEE, they'd only have to be open for lunch. Breakfast and dinner would be like winning the lottery. Anyway, this is absolutely the best and my favorite Mexican food on the east coast. Fight me

Erica W.

Yelp
My burrito was wrong and I went all the way home with my kids sat down to eat together and saw my burrito was wrong. I'm super bummed that I wasted my gas and couldn't enjoy dinner with my family because my order was wrong. After I drove back, I told the worker at the restaurant and she told me that I should've checked before I left. So heads up to everyone your order might be wrong and either bite your burritos or unwrap them because they said it's my responsibility to check before I leave.... The food is good here but customer service also counts....

Alan T.

Yelp
Really good, great portions. Birria tacos were good, soup was good. I'll try something different next time.

Jose B.

Yelp
The protein portion is disproportioned to the carbs. The guacamole is extra when it should be a part of the meal. Not quite number one. Guac on a taco, carne asada plate is a staple and should not be an additional cost. I sure do miss Mexican food from Southern California. I am very disappointed at the Mexican restaurants here in VA. Service was exceptional and the ambiance is of a fast food joint. The mold on the front doors discourages of me of returning.

Janice T.

Yelp
My husband and I met up with our friend to check out this place together since none of us have ever been and we've heard good things. **I'm going to put this out there. I am not a taco aficionado, nor do I claim that I can say I've had loads of experience with authentic Mexican food to provide an "expert" review. Here it goes.. I didn't taste anything extraordinary with my burrito. It was a massive carnitas burrito indeed, stuffed to the hilt. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't noteworthy. It was filling that I could only eat one half. My husband and my friend both went with three different tacos each. All of it was devoured, but I did ask them both if they were still going to be hungry afterwards. The portions didn't look that big with the tacos compared to the burrito. There weren't any comments on the food -good or bad from them both. I asked my husband later what he thought. He said the tacos were okay. I ordered a horchata and a hibiscus tea. Staff mentioned that they weren't sure if more hibiscus tea was going to be made, but whatever they could get out of the current batch they would give me. I'm not sure to be honest, if it was mentioned I would be charged for it or not. I didn't clarify if I was and I didn't grab an itemized receipt because I was too concerned about locking down a table. So I left my husband and friend at the register so I could claim a table. When they (husband and friend) came back with the food and drinks, the hibiscus tea was half to almost 3/4 cup full. My husband mentioned to me that was all that was left from their batch. So I'm hoping I didn't pay full price for the drink if I was charged at all. But the hibiscus tea was really good. Definitely would recommend that and the horchata! Their horchata is the best I've personally tasted in the area. Overall, food was okay but pricey. The drinks were the best for me and the staff were friendly. If I do come back, it's going to be for the horchata. I'm privately changing the name to No. 1 Horchata instead ;-) Ps seating is more like a small cafeteria style set up where you order at the register and pick up at the other side of the counter and pick a table. I want to say it used to be capital crepe before it was five spice kitchen and now no.1 taco. It shares a space with Kung Fu tea, so you end up fighting for seating with kung fu tea customers or you end up sitting on the kung fu tea side.

Yelp
So good that I had to go back for seconds. During my visit, I went with an order of three al pastor tacos. After wofling these down, I had to order another round of the same tacos. Hands down, these were probably the best tacos that I have ever eaten in the area. The restaurant itself is kind of a no-frills type of establishment that shares a space with the bubble tea business. It seems as if most folks grab their food and go, but there is a small dining area if you want to stick around and have your tacos. The service was pretty on point and the cashier was very friendly. I think it took about 7 minutes for them to prepare my tacos. While the tacos were pretty amazing, I do not know if I would go out of my way for them (eg a 30+ minute drive). But, if you are in the area, this spot is for you. Although you will satisfy your taco craving here, you (unfortunately) will not be able to satisfy your margarita craving.

Yelp
Food was great. Burrito was huge & made to order! This place has a cool vibe. I'm diggin' it. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Paid $67 dollars for some tacos, taquitos, chips, guac and food poisoning. This place was the only thing I ate all day and hours later I started vomiting and couldn't get off the toilet. Unsure of the cleanliness of this restaurant. This is the only (and LAST) time I'll be going here.

Yelp
Not texmex. Very authentic. Very close to SoCal Mexican food. Their street tacos are amazing. Great Carne Asada!

Yelp
They've got the name right here ! Best tacos I've found in Virginia Beach area so far. I got the Al pastor taco (super good, but I wish they had some pineapple chunks and some radishes on it), and two burria tacos (delicious and the consume was very tasty). I also got a Mexican corn side, which was really good! My husband also had 4 tacos One star off because of price - 7 tacos and a thing of corn for about $45! Other places this meal would've been about $30 instead Overall, delicious tacos - I'll be back. Note- they haven't changed the name above the storefront, but it has the name on the window ((right past dollar tree))

Yelp
Got takeout from there and the Birria tacos were excellent! My husband got a burrito and it was huge. There was so much food that we weren't able to finish it all. The food came with chips and salsa also. Next time we are in VA Beach and need great quality Mexican food, we will go there!

Yelp
I've been to No.1 Taco twice. I have gotten the Al Pastor Tacos,, everytime.. The Taco are freshly made...But, they don't put any pineapple on the Al pastor.. Ughh..( do not get me wrong...their taco are the bomb!!- minus 1 star for NO PINEAPPLE!) customer service is #1!! This place is kept very clean...I'll continue to come here for my Taco. Good Job!

Yelp
Not only is this place close to me, it's so good! I always get either the Al Pastor tacos or the Carne Asada tacos- or a mix of both. Both are staple versions of tacos that you have to try no matter what! The tacos only took about 7-10 min to make on a busy Sunday evening with multiple families dining in. The store is always kept clean and there's a bar-like area next to the check-out register of toppings and sauces you can add onto to your food if you'd like. Service is quick and efficient, and the kitchen folk seem to always be having a good time. 3 tacos for $17 is reasonable as well, will definitely be bringing friends and fam here in the near future.

Yelp
I would recommend coming here for birria tacos. The rest of tacos I've tried here are good, but I've never tried Birria tacos this yummy. Tacos Al pastor here are okay. I have tried some of the agua frescas, they are also okay. A little on the pricier side, but still worth coming for birria tacos and the quesadillas.

Yelp
I like how colorful the whole store is and the service is always good. The food is even better, when i come here i always order the Birria tacos. These tacos are soooo flavorful and the soup that comes with it always tastes good.
