Yelp
I did a double-take when I saw this location of No Mas not listed in Yelp. Perhaps it is because there are literally two parking spots in the lot? I cannot come up with another explanation.
From what I can gather, this awesome little mini-No Mas carries overflow from the Castleberry Hill location. It's much, much smaller, and there is no restaurant. However, the furniture/art/decor selection is equally droolworthy, and there is now a new garden section here as of a few weeks ago.
I popped in with a friend late on a Saturday afternoon to look for a chiminea. As they had recently had a huge sale, there were only 2 left (and, by the almost embarrasingly lovely owners' report, none at the main location). He offered me the sale price on the one I liked most, which was (SIT DOWN) $58. Seriously, people. You can't buy a chiminea on the damn Craigslist for that little.
My friend saw a few large standing sculptures she liked, and when she heard the price, was made SO INSANE by the bargain that she bought the lot of them on the spot. It was really kind of bananas.
I can't say enough nice things about the service here. In addition to being very attentive and offering us Crazy! Low! Prices!, the guys were friendly, funny, and generally good-humored. Although we were kind of keeping them past closing time, they could not have been kinder about answering all our questions and letting us browse. They're clearly quite devoted to bringing a little bit of their beloved Mexico into others' homes, and the excitement in their faces when they explained the origins of some of their favorite items gave me a sense of unfilled longing, but in a good way.
Although I liked this place pretty well already, after this experience, it is my new go-to for all things ceramic and/or garden-hardware related. Mas, mas, mas!
