Google
Stopped by for lunch today. The menu has lots of good options and the price was right. Food quality and quantity was very good. Service good. As far as lunch menu and service, I'd say it was very good and what I was looking for. Will be back for sure!

Google
It's very simple. Nice variety and sound value. The food tasty. No water option unless bottled/no cups or fountain drinks. Plasticware/no stainless. The food itself has always been good, prepared promptly and served hot. Very convenient to get to and thus far, never had any trouble finding parking. They get mostly takeaway from what I observed so here's a menu and you know how to ring in an order. Give them a go and see what you like.

I came to pick up an uber eats delivery order and had 3 people waiting in front of me, it was a really long wait but I didn’t care about that. When it was my turn I showed him my order and he didn’t say anything but pointed me to the side telling me to wait and then he proceeds to take a whole other guys order and make his food walks back realizes he forgot about me and then starts making my order when he brings it to me he doesn’t say sorry about the wait or anything. Having good customer service goes a long way and I was VERY disappointed in the service provided today.

Google
Nestled in the corner of several other businesses this restaurant is one of the better ones you'd expect for the typical American style Chinese food. I popped in here for lunch while waiting on a car repair across the street. The dining area seemed clean and my order of General Tso's came out quickly and hot. The quality is what I expected and tasted similar to what I expected. Overal a good place.

Love Always

Google
It was Absolutely delicious. I got the Beef and Broccoli with noodles and an egg role. The flavors was definitely there. I haven't tasted Chinese food this good in a minute. You will not be waisting your money.

Esther Gamaliel

Google
Absolutely one of the BEST. I ordered an Egg Drop Soup and it was really nice and hot and cooked in excellence and I Love it here!!!!!!! You and your family should come here as well😃❤️❤️❤️

March 7, 2020: Dined with my daughter tonight. She had Hibachi Vegetables which came with fried rice, Miso Soup, and Salad. I was not very hungry and had some Won Ton Soup. The Hibachi Vegetables were perfectly cooked Al Dente and the sauce was not too heavy to overpower the vegetables. The rice was as good as any we've had at other spots and the salad crisp and fresh. The ginger dressing (which is their own special recipe) is incredible with an orange ginger flavor. The Won Ton soup was good...and had five Won Ton in it. I also got to try a sample of fried butterfly shrimp and their Yum Yum sauce...man they were really good! Feb 2020: Visited the newly opened No. 1 Chinese Restaurant at 1144 Fortress Blvd. Ying (owner) was most welcoming and I looked over an extensive menu that includes your standard Chinese fares along with Hibachi meals. Of special note was a Diet Section with steamed dishes and no salt. I decided to try the Bourbon Chicken combo which included Pork Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. I did request Chicken Fried Rice and Ying took care of the change with no change in price. While I was waiting for my meal, she offered me a sample of their Hot & Sour Soup. I am not a fan of very spicy items, and when I see a dish in red on a menu with the little jalapeno I normally pass but she said it was not too spicy. Honestly…this was a really good soup, just the right amount of heat so that you could enjoy the flavors in the soup. The Bourbon Chicken was delicious with very tender chunks of chicken in a sweet bourbon sauce. What I liked about this dish was the large pieces of tender chicken, this allowed the sweet bourbon flavor to really come through. The fried rice was good and I really liked the egg roll. This is a family run restaurant and the folks here are really nice…this is not your standard Chinese take-out fare.

Yelp
Pretty good. I was in town and searched for a Chinese restaurant. I found this place and decided to stop. The staff member was friendly upon my entry. They answered my questions and were very receptive. I was craving egg foo yung. I ordered the chicken egg foo yung. The order was made fresh to order. They have clean adequate interior seating on a cold night. I loved the self serve station for sauces etc. The food was good, the gravy was a bit different to my usual. It was a clear and viscous gravy. All in all, I enjoyed my meal. The seating area is spacious and inviting.

Yelp
I am never disappointed when I order carry out food from No 1 Chinese. Fast and friendly service. The ambiance of this little gem is quiet and simple. Food is always hot and prepared freshly. The portions are decent and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch two days running! Simply put... outstanding! Chicken with broccoli and vegetables spring rolls! Vegetables spring rolls were served hot (yes, I've had too many served lukewarm at best!). Crispy and not burnt! They were a good size and filled with a nice mix of veggies. A little duck sauce with mustard and bam! Yummo! Chicken with Broccoli and white rice. Hot, fresh and tender! Was lightly coated with sauce. I like a bit more sauce, but I really enjoyed it! Flavor was nice and mild flavors. The chicken was nicely sliced chicken breast. Fresh meat, not gamey or old! Vegetables were cooked to a nice crunch. Not under, nor over done. I added chili oil and kicked up the heat! Over all, very good meal for the price and enough food! Very Clean and tidy! Only complaint was the forks were a bit wimpy and no knifes.... Keep up the great food and service!!

Yelp
Shrimp egg foo young was just okay...not alot of flavor...the egg rolls were cooked too fast well done on the outside but mushy on the inside. Little greasy to me!

Kipper S.

Yelp
I ordered was quoted 20 minutes for my order to be ready. When I arrived, I had to stand around for another 35 minutes while the person in front of me placed an order at the counter and was out the door before me. I only had two items. I can appreciate things get busy, but there's no excuse for making someone wait 55 minutes for Chinese food!
google avatar

Collette D.

Yelp
Ordered in advance arrived to pick up and still waited over 30 minutes. Not happy it's raining cold. Folks are just walking out without their food

Yelp
Came to this location for the first time (from Illinois,) following the reviews of other posters, and I have to say, we're impressed. After a brief wait time (15 minutes) and a short drive home, all items were hot and well made. My son was a bit reserved about the "spicy" orange chicken, but after his first bite, he quickly changed his opinion and lost his reservations. The portion size of Lo Mein from my dish is more than sufficient to abolish my cravings. Well done staff and clean restaurant! I'm definitely keeping this on my go to list when I return to Smyrna.

Yelp
Over charged and messed up order, communication poor and would not fix it. Should not be No 1 maybe -1

Talicia S.

Yelp
This could be the worst Chinese food I have had. The kung pao chicken was just fried batter making it just taste like week old grease, husbands dish was similar.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
Fast service and tasty entrees. I always look forward to their fortune cookies as well.

Veronika Verochka ..

Yelp
Just bought 2 bourbon chicken combos and yea other stuff but yea omfg like you gotta try this food! The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Made with LOVE and the lady at the front was super nice. Had to wink;)
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
This place was really good! In my opinion it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in Murfreesboro. I got the Vegetable Lo Mein and mushroom chicken and both were delicious. Although I don't think they use real Udon noodles but the flavor was definitely there.
google avatar

Yelp
The stuff here is not real Chinese food had order some chicken fired rice with chicken chicken look like it was boiled chicken with some rice horrible had general Joe's chicken horrible has shrimp egg rolls horrible if you like Chinese food go somewhere else. This is not the place for you. Don't waste your time or money. You will be very disappointed.

Diane R.

Yelp
Food was GREAT Prices were reasonable in this economic crisis Really packed it into the take out containers

Brianna C.

Yelp
This is my THE BEST Chinese food in Murfreesboro. I've been going here for over a year and the food is always fresh and of great quality. Definitely recommend!

Kim R.

Yelp
the absolute worst service ever. Do NOT order unless you're willing to wait 90 minutes for fast food.
google avatar

Ray R.

Yelp
Figure we try a new place and choose this place for Friday night take out. The service was friendly and enjoyable. However the food wasn't spectacular. Now I'm not saying it was bad but for me it wasn't worth driving to the other side of town for. The food had a peculiar taste but yet bland. I guess our search for the Boro's best carry out is still open..
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
They were quick to fill the phone order. Food was as good as a sit down restaurant. Took it home and was hot enough to eat without having to heat it up. I'd recommend it for quick and easy.
google avatar

Ken T.

Yelp
The food here wasn't bad but it wasn't wow either. We got beef and broccoli and Szechuan chicken. There was definitely a good amount of food for the price (pics below). The staff was absolutely outstanding. Super friendly, attentive, and helpful. There was a good deal of people dining in and a regular stream of to-go orders. Maybe it was just us, but clearly others loved it. If you haven't been there before, get good directions when you call. It's a bit tricky to find.

Sean D.

Yelp
we have had food here, mostly good, couple bad orders, sesame chicken over cooked. this time ordered online, said 20 mins arrived early as usually they are quick to get order done. place was packed with people waiting. I waited for my food for an hour! I get it , they were busy but orders with higher order numbers were given food before me. They said waiting on the Mongolian beef. Once I finally received my food, got home to find They messed my wife's order up, put gravy on her chicken. Egg roll was bad and the Mongolian beef had no flavor and no gravy, very watery. sesame chicken was decent. it's Just Shame that one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area and after waiting over an hour, is was disappointing.

Yelp
Have always gotten accurate and tasty food here. Good service at the counter. Extensive menu and when ordered ahead of time, always ready to pick up.
google avatar

Kristina B.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and needed to find our "go to" Chinese restaurant, so we ordered online around 6:15pm to pick up our order at 7pm. Husband shows up at 7:00pm and they 1. Can't even find the order. 2. Didn't acknowledge him for 10 minutes once he got there. Once they finally figured out the order they then began making it... 30 minutes later he finally gets to walk our work our food. Least we know the food is fresh.

Rashied R.

Yelp
I love this place it is hands down the best in town and the service is better! Get you some!

Yelp
Please note I am comparing this restaurant to other like take-out spots. I have dined here twice, once alone and once with my daughter. Both times the service here is exceptional. Yelp
My fishing buddy and I had doctors appointments today and went here between appointments for lunch. The food was absolutely amazing and I was flabbergasted at how inexpensive it was!! Great food, good service and wonderful prices- what more could you ask for!!
google avatar

Angela H.

Yelp
This is the absolute best Chinese Food I have ever had in Murfreesboro Stop eating all the garbage that you all eat out there and come here you won't regret it and the prices are amazing

Lee B.

Yelp
Food was OK but nothing to write home about. Bottled coke products were expensive and no ice was available.
google avatar

Anastasia Z.

Yelp
It is truly a number one Chinese restaurant. My son and I ordered from here as a carry out. The portions were plenty and the quality of the food was delicious. I ordered the general Tso's chicken and it was amazing. The lagoons do not have crab in them which was a pleasant surprise for myself since I am allergic to shellfish. They were probably some of the most amazing ones that I had. The sauce that they give you is delicious and not too sweet but they are perfectly delicious by themselves. You can tell that they were freshly made to order because they were still warm when I picked them up
google avatar

Dania A.

Yelp
Best Chinese place I've eaten at in the Boro by far, the food tasted so fresh and the portions were very generous for the price. We had the black pepper chicken and the beef & broccoli and loved everything. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Kimberly F.

Yelp
Recently moved back to the boro from Seattle and I am always on the hunt for tasty Chinese food. The name rings true as they really are the number one Chinese restaurant in Murfreesboro. The lady at the register is always pleasant and gets our order right even when they are super busy. Of course, the food is always delicious. Keep up the good work (or wok)!
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
I must say this is currently the one of the best Chinese takeout restaurant on this side of Murfreesboro. I've ordered quite a few dishes from this restaurant and everyone one was hot fresh and delicious. I have not had any dishes on the hibachi section of the menu yet. The staples are good. The fried rice is delicious and not bland or dry. Wonton soup is delicious and not too salty. They have some of the best fried dumplings in Murfreesboro. General Tso's chicken and Seasame Chicken are great. They get my business at least 3-4 times a month. I really hope they stay great.
google avatar

Duy T.

Yelp
Lunch menu is the great and you can replace the egg rolls for soup! Very cheap prices and big portions size !

Chris M.

Yelp
Good food at a reasonable price. The only bad thing is they close early on Saturday night.

Matt H.

Yelp
Best place in town! Always fresh and friendly people General TSO is my go to The owner hand makes the crab Rangoon's nightly
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
This has to be the best #1 Chinese food in town. We ordered here for the first time ever. The bourbon chicken caught my eye. It was very good. The general Yao's was even better. The wontons are hand made and this made our experience. I cannot believe we passed this place for so long before stopping in. Big mistake. Huge.
google avatar

Yelp
We finally got the opportunity to get some dinner from this new Chinese restaurant location right near our house. I am currently giving a solid 4/5 only because we did not select too many options on the menu and weren't able to get a strong feel for overall quality. I ordered the chicken and broccoli. Tasted great! Just the right temperature and cooked to perfection. My boys shared the chicken lo mein. They scarfed if down, so I suppose it was cooked just right. Normally I'd order cheese wontons and egg rolls and maybe even Chinese donuts when I needed some sugar. I was basic this go around, but I'll be going back soon! The interior of the restaurant looked wonderful! It has stained wood trim throughout and nice porcelain wood look tile. Much better than the typical stained commercial tile and wallpaper look. Several tables available in case you'd like to eat there. The service was amazing. Very friendly! Give this place a shot if you're in the mood for some hot and fresh takeout.
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
If y'all think this is good wait until you try China Wok on 99 in the Publix shopping center! They actually make the food AFTER you order it and not the day prior lol. 2 stars only because they were nice :)

Steve M.

Yelp
I tried them today for the first time. I had the best orange chicken I ever had and their beef egg foo young was awesome. A terrific full flavored sauce was the best one in this area. I'll definitely return to try many more selections. Some folks waiting for their order (20' away from me) told me they live the house special fried rice. The place is tucked into a cubby hole corner near the Starbucks and across the street from the Wal-Mart grocery store on Fortress. I didn't go to Yelp until after I'd eaten at "#1 Chinese" or I had taken some good photos of our food before we dug in. The photos posted on Yelp are terrible. If you go maybe you can take some good shots of what you order and post them.
google avatar

Roxie C.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant because of the reviews. I read so many good reviews and all I wanted was some really good food. I ordered shrimp Lomé in and hot and sour soup and two egg roll. Every bit of it was tasteless. The soup was neither hot nor sour. This was the first time I had to add soy sauce to my soup. The food wasn't bad but it was lacking in any kind of flavor.

Alyson H.

Yelp
The food really didn't have any flavor. The orange chicken was the best out of what we ordered, but definitely not great. General tso's chicken tasted incredibly bland, as did veggie lo-mein & fried rice. Really wanted to like this place! I will say the food appeared fresh & the portion size was good on a positive note.

Violet C.

Yelp
Ordered to go Hibachi Chicken and Seafood Family platter. The food was God awful. Covered in so much black pepper it was swimming in it. They put the heaviest foods on top in the bag, squashing the chicken and ruining my car seat. When I picked up the bag, all the food dumped out. I saved most of it but I wish I had just let it all dump on the ground. The chicken was so hard it was like jerky and covered in black pepper. The vegetables were still hard lie they had just been tossed in soy sauce. The seafood was cooked so hard and rubbery the garbages disposal wouldn't even grind it up. Never again. Worst Chinese food I've ever had. Period.

Thomas H.

Yelp
This is my favorite Chinese take-out in Murfreesboro. Ordered from here a dozen times, always good and hot with fast service. Glad they are so close!

Leslie-Alexis M.

Yelp
My husband and I are from the northeast and we love it her so far, Except for the Chinese food! We have not been able to find a Chinese food restaurant who serves food as good as they serve it in New York, until we tried number one Chinese restaurant! The food here is delicious, the service is great and it's very close to our home which makes this the perfect place for us!

Sherrie S.

Yelp
This is our go to for take out. We have ordered four times for our family of 4 adults. Chicken is tender, shrimp is a good size and cooked just right. Flavors are spot on and we all fight over the vegetable mei fun. I hope their quality and service stays the same so we can enjoy this place for a long time.

Darlene D.

Yelp
This is the absolute best Chinese take out in Murfreesboro hands down. The food is always delicious, veggies are always fresh; not like other places where the veggies are soggy and old tasting. We go at least once a week since they opened. If you have not checked this place out yet, GO NOW.

Earth Is F.

Yelp
very bland, my body wouldn't digest most of the contents of the chicken fried rice I ate so I had to puke up the rest. not good, not authentic, there are many better options in Murfreesboro.
