"Nob Hill Food Carts will house a dozen carts in the heart of the Alphabet District. Real Estate Developer Gregg Opsahl is transforming his office space into a pod that will fit 14 carts, with extensive seating and a fire pit for colder nights. The location sits between Nob Hill and the up-and-coming Slabtown, steps from Eater 38 stalwart Ataula on NW 23rd Place. Nob Hill Food Carts will open at 1845 NW 23rd Place." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

We accident walked in the small food carts place. It’s very casual place with great food. We ordered from one of food carts. It happened to our favorite Burmese food. It is delicious and full of flavor. Price is pretty reasonable.

So far I've eaten at 3 out of 6 of the carts here (I'm including the Pour House in the count even though it's a bar). Rollin' Fresh - Very good sushi with a twist (burrito style!) Bajala - Excellent tacos, very fresh, with lots of flavor. (Separate review on their google maps entry) Village Kitchen - so far my favorite Burmese food in the Northwest district and there something like 4 other Burmese restaurants. I'll get to the rest soon enough.

Such fun choices, all friendly clean and homeless free dining.

Beer + solid selection of food trucks 👌

Yelp
Love this concept! Food Carts in a stationary space with seating throughout. Wish we had nice enough weather to have a set up like this back home. Heads up - Bing Mi is no longer situated here. You can catch them at their restaurant up the street at 2572 NW Vaughn Street E or their food truck at 431 SW Harvey Milk Street.

Yelp
I stayed a couple blocks away from these lovely food carts and worked in Portland for a month. Nob Hill Food carts has an array of possible lunches and dinner for a quick bite to eat. I tried the loaded Jian bing with bbq duck and the dumplings and fried oysters from Ippo Ramen. Both selections were decent and filling though a touch on the steep price side. Definitely as an Asian person I've had each of these foods at much cheaper prices in areas in LA and NYC but the flavor was there. Service was kind at Bing Mi, the portions are large and could be two small meals depending on your appetite. In the loaded jian bing, I love the crunch but wish there was more of a fresh element like green onions to cut the richness. Service was swift at Ippo Ramen with the fried oyster having crisp exterior and fresh flavor. The downfall of the dumplings were that I asked for extra chili oil and I didn't get it. Chili oil to me is not only spicy but also with a little chilly crisp in it. It felt like it was mainly soy sauce which was disappointing and one note. The area to sit down is with picnic tables and a nice fire pit in the evening when the weather gets cold. Every time I have gone, there has been seating for enough people to still have some space between parties, and if you do not want to sit in the media area, there are plenty of booths. Overall, I think these carts are a good option if you need something quick and want a lovely snack without having a fancy dinner or sit down lunch.

Yelp
Lots of great options, I miss the taco truck that used to be here but they still have some of my favorites like Bing Mi and Farmer and the Beast. The Indian truck is also excellent as is the Ramen truck. Every truck I've has been really good. (Smaacken replaced the taco truck and I know they solid but haven't eaten there since they moved here.)

Yelp
Used to really like this spot, but it's extremely lacking in unique to the cart pod vegan options now with Abbas and Bing Mi both gone, so it won't be a place we frequent anymore for that reason. I do think Ramen Ippo is solid, and the little beer cart is good.

Yelp
This is my first visit to Portland and I was informed of these food pods around the city so I was looking forward to experiencing one. I started my morning at the Japanese garden and the front desk person advised that I do a walking tour of Nob Hill. So, I decided to combine the walking tour with lunch and found this food pod. There are so many great selections and I will do an individual review and where I decided to eat and I also appreciate that they had plenty of seating with umbrellas or tents to block you from the sun. Once you're done eating then you can go explore all of the great stores in the area.

Yelp
The food, the service, the ambiance!? One can not simply type about this experience via 2nd demential means... the one and only true way to experience this actual "vibrational" time in space is to actually go here. One can not easily feel or understand the rating or writings of "this place is good". You have to go here. In a tidy way of including and respecting different countries and their food, this food truck stop provides a warm and welcoming way of tasty unconventionalities, "Keep Portland Weird" is put into separate baskets in the same flavorful Laundromat that makes for a sweet and easy food nest. A must visit when in town!

Yelp
Went once , few selections though. Would rather go some place else . The chicken burger is one of the places was very greasy, but delicious.

Yelp
Some killer carts in this pod! Farmer and the Beast greets you right at the front with Rolling Fresh (wonder how many locations they have now?), ramen and Drunken Noodle, Mexican, Indian, Bing Mi at the back, and of course beer. Long and narrow, I'd love to see them moving a cart in or out. Be sure to check all the way to the back before you decide what to get. Good seating options. In addition to standing tables with umbrellas scattered throughout the pod, there is seating inside at the front, outside along the fence, and in a converted parking spot. All have some kind of shade covering.

Yelp
One of our favorite food cart pods in Portland. We LOVE the Onoyaki Dog from Bobalastic. Farmer and the Beast has a great smash burger and a convenient and easy ordering system. You can't go wrong with a sushi burrito from Rollin' Fresh. We also love all of their musubi's. Dog friendly. Cute and tucked away in NW.

Yelp
Visited the food carts on the the historic and hottest day in the City of Portland (114 degrees), so most of the food carts were closed, except for two. We tried Bing Mi and ordered the Duck Chinese Wrap, guava and lemon drink, and cucumber salad. The Duck Chinese Wrap was delicious and very flavorful! The cucumber and tomato salad was light and fresh. Their guava lemonade was very refreshing and provided a perfect quench for the heat! Staff were friendly and had a shaded table to sit on. A public restroom is available for customers.

Chelsea U.

Yelp
Wish I seen the reviews before ordering to-go. The owner was cranky but I figured it was due to the heat but by the looks of the reviews that's his normal character. He was out of everything besides noodles and so I order pad Thai. We grabbed our food to-go to sadly find that my dish was completely inedible and burnt. It had 1 to 2 pieces of chicken protein and the color of the noodles did not resemble most pad Thai dishes that I've had in the past. I reached out to the nob hill food cart via email and will come back with updates on if I can get a refund since I'm already out of the area going back to California. Not worth any money let alone $13 Take money else where!

Yelp
While visiting Portland my boyfriend and I checked out this food cart area. The pork ramen from Ippo and sushi burrito from Rollin Fresh did NOT disappoint! Wow. Both were outstanding. The ramen was truely one of the best I've had. I was not expecting the broth to be so rich and flavorful along with the pork being sooo tender and juicy! 10/10 for both places!! Thank you :)

Yelp
Yes, we needed this! A food cart pod with stellar carts representing a variety of ethnic cuisines, plus a beer / cider / wine cart. Hits every mark! Even better, my absolute favorite food cart, Tehuana Oaxaca and Emanuel, the master behind the Best Street Tacos anywhere now has a 2nd cart in this pod. The other cart is in NE Killingsworth Food Pod. For the most incredible, delicious, authentic, crave-worthy Oaxacan Cuisine, eat here!!! Burritos, mole enchiladas, tacos, chipotle pork anything - this is your place. Kind owner, fast and efficient service, killer food! The Nob Hill Pd has Mexican, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Ramen, Rolls, Farm Fresh and adult beverages. There are tables on the street, socially distanced, and a few tables and high tops scattered about. Located on NW 23rd Place (not street) between NW Thurman & NW Upshur, around the corner from St. Honore, there is easy access from I-405 for those who don't live in the neighborhood. Go, support, enjoy!!!

Yelp
We had Ramen from Ippo, and it was so delicious, we inhaled it.. perfect cozy meal for a chilly night in Portland! We both got the Tantan Ramen and the combination of flavors was on point! Highly recommended! The vibes of the whole place are super cool as well

Chris E.

Yelp
Had just the worst, burned Thai Basil rice from Drunken Noodle today. Definitely not worth the $13.50. The other carts are good, but I won't order from them again.

Nadia C.

Yelp
I am sold by this Nob Hill Food Carts. Eight food carts and even has umbrella covered tables. Love this location. I have ordered from two of the eight eatery and Beer place, Drunken Noodle and Rollin Fresh. Drunken Noodles Cart Chicken Thai fried rice #F4 ordered extra spicy blew me away. Tasty, crunchy Carrots and Broccoli. Highly recommend!!! Rollin Fresh Sushi Cart Hoke' Poke' was delicious but nothing to write home about. Even though the attendant taking the order can be a little nicer, I will surely return to try out more menus. Location is on NW 23rd Place and NOT 23rd Avenue but the next street over.

Yelp
Honestly the food was amazing, and I loved the different options there, BUT it's just so inconvenient to get to, and there's no nearby PARKING. And not much sitting room at all but beyond that it was great. Seriously though don't try to show up here midday with an out of town friend they immediately started freaking out about everyone basically jumping in front of my car and people not know to drive, plus how weird it was parking was done through an app? Idk I just thought that was normal.

Rachael P.

Yelp
Overall great experience at these food carts with a couple friends. We showed up just at 5pm on a Tuesday and it was not crowded. Each of us had something different-- great drinks from the pour house (love the set up!) excellent sushi burrito from Rollin Fresh and very quick service and excellent ramen from Ippo. My food from the Drunken Noodle was very underwhelming and the person working the food cart cam off as rather rude. I got Drunken pad thai noodles with chicken and my partner got the Pad see ew with chicken and both dishes were small portion (especially the chicken) and lacking flavor. I would go back to visit Nob Hill food carts, but will be getting something else for myself in the future. (: The place got a bit busier while we were there chatting at a table and eating and drinking, many guests brought their dogs in and it was a good time.

Yelp
Thai, Indian, Sushi, Mexican, Chinese, American AND a great wine and beer cart. This is my favorite spot in NW. Great date spot - something for everyone! I love Mexican food and I've never been disappointed with the tacos - don't miss the carnitas and ask for the orange (habanero) sauce if you like spicy.. so GOOD. The Thai food is a solid middle of the road. I do not recommend the Indian food cart - I've tried it 3 times hoping for something to hit and it just doesn't (go to Swagat if you are looking in NW).

Kristi G.

Yelp
If you don't feel like cooking, this is great little spot to pick up a delicious meal. Nob Hill Food Carts has easy street parking and a large variety of cuisine options; from sushi/poke, Thai, Indian, Mexican, burgers and ramen. We even enjoyed a quick beer from the craft beer cart while we waited for our food. We were in and out of this place in less than 20 minutes -- I can't wait to go back and try another cart!

Gunnar B.

Yelp
Loved the selections they had took me a while to just decide what to get they're all very solid!

Jan P.

Yelp
We have only eaten at one of the carts, but that is a good one way at the back.

Tasha R.

Yelp
So, i have a gluten allergy. So my experience will be biased. The sushi roll place is great but a tad pricey for the small amount of fish served. BUT it's SO GOOD! I'm all "just take my money!!" The Indian guy has a kinda playful personality wich adds to the experience. My partner loves the food and only ever orders from the cart. The beer cart has cider and this epic holiday waslse or something! And you can take it to go with a lid. Though, i don't recommend this. The Thai place is pretty rude about my allergies. Like I'm very going to try to eat there again. Seriously?!?!! How can you NOT KNOW what your ingredients are to tell if the dish is gluten free. Very unprofessional, don't recommend. The other carts don't have gluten free food and my partner doesn't eat red meat so i can't share his thoughts either.

K J.

Yelp
We enjoyed an excellent meal from the Indian food truck during our visit to Portland. The beer from the beer truck was also good.

Sandy P.

Yelp
Yay! I'm so happy to have this food cart pod in the neighborhood! It's perfect for when everyone is in the mood for something different. I had a delicious Mediterranean bowl from Farmer and the Beast -- the chermoula yogurt dressing really made it stand out. My husband loved both his beef burger and fish burger, also from Farmer and the Beast, and our visitors raved about the Banh Mi and sushi burritos. The wine and beer cart is awesome -- everyone got what they wanted, and I had my first Tinto de Verano outside of Spain. I can't wait to go back and try the other carts!

Kausthub P.

Yelp
This spot is a great find. It is pretty easy to miss (or I just didn't pay attention ha), but regardless, I am never disappointed when I leave. The Bing Mi and Thai truck are the two I have tried, and they both are well worth the visit. The prices are reasonable, and on a nice day, there is nothing like outdoor seating (in a distant manner) in Portland. It won't break the bank, but it will leave you full and very, very happy.

Collin K.

Yelp
Several great options, typical prices, beer, and a new fire pit . My go to 'treat yourself' lunch spot. You have to try a jianbing!!

Sophie R.

Yelp
Excellent pad thai fried rice and noodles. Reasonable choices of fried rice, noodles, appetizers. Very tasty!

Edna N.

Yelp
Love the neighborhood vibe! Great food choices. We had food from rollin fresh and Bing Mi

Bryan J.

Yelp
I got Thai food and Indian Food from there. Waited an hour for the food cause they're only one worker for each of the food cart. The Thai food cart was terrible . Rude service and small ass portions. The Indian Food cart on the other is good , good portion but the wait is long and the owner don't wear mask :/ not really worth the drive or wait. Beaverton have better food cart.

Bob K.

Yelp
Get the menus on line. It makes it very hard to figure out to order takeout. Come on now!
