The 19 Best Beer Bars in Houston | Eater Houston

"Tucked into an unassuming strip mall in Webster, Texas, Nobi hosts one of the area’s best selections of craft beer, with more than 50 options, plus even more available in bottles and cans. And the food here really shines, with a modern Vietnamese menu that includes dishes like pork fried rice, stir-fried noodles, and a chocolate stout brownie sundae for dessert." - Brittanie Shey

James Harden Thinks Vic & Anthony’s Is Houston’s Best Restaurant - Eater Houston

"The owners of Nobi Public House will open a second restaurant in Webster, and it’s going to be decidedly different than its Vietnamese sibling. Called Hyde Park Wood Fired Kitchen, the restaurant is set to open at 247 East NASA Parkway and will serve a menu of dishes cooked in a wood-burning oven, ranging from pizzas to braised meats." - Amy McCarthy

Stopped in this place on a whim. Glad we did! Food was great! Service was pretty good. Had to ask for refills, plates, spoons etc. our waiter did give us his honest review on some of the food options we had questions on and i really appreciated that. I had the shaking beef with noodles, fantastic will eat again. My husband has shaking beef with fried rice, he said was ok. My 6&4 year old each got wonton soup and split garlic wings. Theirs was fantastic as well. Very pleased with this place.

Been to Nobi Public House on a number of occasions. Definitely a local favorite. Tip: Try to avoid the prime hours, as it can be difficult to find / get a parking spot. Service is always top notch, however may be a bit on the loud side for some. You can gather as much from the videos uploaded. They have a great selection of on tap beers to meet any demand. Or those others, they do also have a small wine selection. The food has its hits and misses. Definitely avoid the fried pork, nothing special here. The tacos or the banh mi, easily suggested for those seeking familiar favorite preferences. If you're ever free on a Sunday, stop by and try the PhO. Just know they typically run out quick. Or check out Pork chop Tuesday! What are some of your favorites? How was your experience? @follow Until next time.

We love coming here. Consistent with great food and drink options. Do wish they had cocktails on the menu, but doesn’t stop me from visiting!

Google
This is such a hidden gem. There is not a bad thing on their menu. I get the combination rice and spring rolls every time. The portions are overall very generous and will fill you up. They have tons of beets on tap if that’s what you’re into. Not to mention they love supporting small or local businesses.

I was invited here by a friend of mine and was totally surprised by how good the food was. I can honestly say I'll be back to try something else from the menu. Tesoro was our Waiter and was good for NOBI.!

Google
What an excellent find in the Weber area, we knew it would be great when we saw how busy it was. Started out by ordering pork fries for an appetizer with the jalapeños on the side. Amazing sharable! I ordered the vermicelli with pork and spring roll, a cup of wonton soup for the picky eater, someone else got the chicken noodle soup and a stir fry noodle. Thank you to the kind gentleman that served us for getting us a lemonade even though it's not on the menu. The service was so friendly, always topping our drinks and recommended a beer, super friendly people. We had no room for dessert and had so many leftovers. All of our food was freshly made and authentic with tons of flavor.

Google
Had a great experience having a few beers here. Alex, our server, had excellent suggestions and gave us great attention despite not dining. She brought us multiple samples and helped us pinpoint the right beer for our individual taste profiles. Recommend stopping in anytime!

Google
Customer service carries a lot of weight for me. I thought my shaking beef tasted too fishy and they were more than happy to accommodate. This team really showed the attempt to care about the customer and that means so much more than having the perfect food or drink. Keep it up, folks! I’ll be back!

Yelp
I was stating to get really dissatisfied with Vietnamese food. So many low quality spots Serving low quality food. You will not find that here! I was blown away by the top notch quality and over great flavor! Chris was a top notch professional and did a great job at explaining the menu and making great suggestions for us! Food: Vietnamese chargrilled pork sandwich was great! Every single bite was full of flavor and made to absolute perfection probably the best bah mi I've ever had. The meat was so fresh and delicious. They bread was crispy and flavorful. Simply top notch. The home made egg rolls were top notch. Every crispy bite was amazing. My girl got the nobi hot dog. My god. Top notch. I will definitely come back for years to come. ****One thing you must do is fix your soda machine or offer canned or bottle sodas. Your fountain drinks or horrible! I could drop a star for that because there is no reason to serve lack luster fountain drinks. Simply fix it or offer cans or bottles. **** Other than that this is simply a 5 star spot. The food was great. Top notch customer service from Chris. I will be back soon! Thank you all for serving quality food and not cutting corners when it comes to fresh quality food like so many other Vietnamese Asian spots do in Houston Texas

Yelp
Decided to try this place for dinner. The menu is promising and perhaps we should have ordered different things but I was very underwhelmed. I ordered the salad with shaking beef and my husband ordered the fried rice. The fried rice was meh, I could have whipped up a better dish right in that kitchen if I had my way. The salad was better but they were very heavy handed with the onions and I literally had to pick them out coz it was just overpowering the entire dish. My husband said he's had their bahn mi for lunch and it's solid so I'm willing to give them another try but for now, it's a 3 star review from me.

Yelp
Nobi Public House is a unique and intriguing spot just outside of Houston. Picture a solid draft beer selection paired with a menu full of authentic and fusion Vietnamese dishes - it's not your typical place to nhậu (drink and snack), but it works surprisingly well. The banh mi, wonton soup, and spring rolls were all hits, bursting with flavor and made with care. The only miss? The wings, which could have been crispier to truly shine. Overall, Nobi Public House offers a creative and tasty experience that stands out from the usual beer-and-bar-food joints. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and looking for something a little different.

Yelp

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday at 11:30 am for their Sunday Pho Special. Note that you can be seated and start ordering at 11:30, but the pho isn't served until 12! It was definitely worth the wait. The pho broth was so flavorful and came out perfectly steaming. I appreciated their take on traditional pho with the addition of fried pork bits. The only thing missing was bean sprouts! The spring rolls were also delicious. I loved that they used chargrilled pork. The peanut sauce was rather bland and could have used more Hoisin and Sriracha, which I added on the side. Overall a solid place for Vietnamese fusion!

Yelp
I have been here multiple times and I am not sure WHY I haven't reviewed them. The food is absolutely delicious. They have a huge selection of rotating taps. You can bring your own growler (or purchase one there). The staff is so attentive and kind. It is pet-friendly on their small patio (think sidewalk size). My only gripes are that it is chilly inside (which is nice in the summertime), they only have two bathroom stalls (so when it is busy, you will wait), and their Kombucha rep went out of business, so they do not serve it anymore. Please - kombucha reps, if you are reading this reach out and get on their taps!

Yelp
I got Nobis to go and ordered the tofu deluxe. I always enjoy tofu bahn mi's but I think I was expecting something completely different. I assumed the sandwich would include veggies too, but the tofu one only came with tofu onions and jalapeños. I tried some of my sisters veggie ham bahn mi and hers came with carrots cilantro and the rest of the veggies I expected. Overall I'd go for their vegetarian ham sandwich. It's a bit out of our way living in Pearland but if you're ever in the area!

Yelp
Gosh what a craft beer selection!! We had the shakin beef 3 different ways - rice, salad & vermicelli and all were delicious. I had the salad and it was my fav. I had a Sauvignon blanc on tap and it was perfect. The guys had beers and loved them as well. Also got crab chips - new to me and my son loved them. Not my jam, but the guys liked them. Service was great. Friendly and professional. Love the ambiance here. Very clean and crisp modern decor. We were at the bar then a table and it was wonderful.

Yelp
I can't wait to come here again! Service- so comforting and kind! Ambience- really nice inside and out Drinks- long list of different beers. I tried the pear ale and it was so yummy. Thai tea- my friend didn't like it too much lol but it was our only complaint. Combination noodles- the presentation was so nice, I got so much more than I thought and jt was yummy. I wish it came with a sauce but our service for us hoisin and it worked perfectly. Shaking beef and noodles- the shaking beef is shaken in garlic butter and my friend loved it. It was her first time having noodles that were cold but she liked it and enjoyed the fresh veggies. Thai chili wings- probably our favorite out of everything. They didn't last long at all. Plz come here!!

Yelp
Tip: you can use the Toast app to place your order ahead of time for pick up w/out the third party fees. It's been forever since I've been here, but everything was still as good as I remembered. In addition to the items in the pics we also got the wonton soup. Dabbled in everything. Wonton soup had a rich "clear" broth with plenty of wontons, extra noodles, and chicken. Beef was tender in the shaking beef. I didn't love the sauce as much as I wanted to (but not bad- just be sure to taste before you pour on top). Spring rolls and peanut sauce, can't go wrong. Chargrilled chicken and fried rice was also good with good portions. Overall can't wait to come back and try some other items.

Yelp
Love this place, food is always great, orders are always accurate, very accommodating for large group orders, servers are very welcoming. Website has been under construction for a while, wanted to add the current food menu/prices as of Jan 2025

Yelp
Awesome Korean Food and Tap beers! Highly recommend the Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls as a appetizer

Yelp
It's not too often that I see a Vietnamese restaurant with so many different beers on tap. Nobi is a great quiet place to slip in for a few beers or a great bite to eat. The staff seemed very cool and friendly. Nobi would be a great first date kinda place.

Laura Macias ..

Yelp
They have posted times that are not accurate. It would've saved me a wannabe patron much time if they update info on yelp

Yelp
Love this place. Reasonably priced food and drinks. The staff real know their stuff. Overall quality experience and atmosphere. We are here once a week.

Yelp
love this place! food is tasty and you can't beat the pork chop tuesday deal ($9 for a pork chop and a beer). servers are always friendly. they have cute outdoor seating where you can order from nobi or the restaurant next door, hyde park.

Yelp
This place is our absolute favorite spot! We come here all the time and every dish we've tried has been amazing. I can't get enough of the incredible nachos and the mouthwatering shrimp banh mi. My fiance is obsessed with the egg sandwich, and we just can't wait to try the pho next time! This place never disappoints! The servers are incredibly friendly and the restaurant is always very clean. They have an extensive draft menu!

Yelp
Food--pretty standard, spring rolls, not bad....the curry was good. Ambiance--kind of family style and bright lights, which i wasn't expecting from an alleged "gastropub" If I judged this place on service alone, it would be a zero. Numerous times I sat there with an empty glass---both times at min 10-15 minutes--and I still had to flag the waiter down. I finally just ordered 2 beers at once because it was so bad. Pro--good selection of beers that they rotate weekly i believe Con--the service and ambiance
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
Fried pork is DANGEROUSLY addictive. There's also a great range of draft selections to choose from. The service has a laid back but attentive approach; great for a Friday night Ambiance is mellow with unique hop artwork throughout. The neighboring gelato spot and Hyde park are all connected so feel free to bring beverage and food between the 3 which makes this one of the most "foodie" convenient destinations in the area. Our favorite spot whenever we're in the area for sure.

Yelp
Finally stopped in for lunch after eyeing this place for years!! It was everything I hoped it would be! We started with the spring rolls and egg rolls, both were fresh and absolutely delish! The spring rolls were fresh and flavorful while the egg rolls were hot and so crispy!! Next up was the shaking beef vermicelli and a banh me sandwich with egg saturated in a yummy garlic butter with a flaky bun! The good was great and I can understand why this place is packed for lunch! Price point was average, about $50-$60 for 2 ppl, multiple dishes and one thai tea... service was ok, not awesome but not bad... otherwise; great food and definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Visited here just to try their vegetarian ham banh mi and we were not disappointed! One of the best banh mi sandwiches I have ever had. The breast was crispy on the outside and soft on the outside. The veggies inside were well-flavored, and the garlic butter really makes the sandwich complete. Sandwich cost was around $7 which is standard nowadays. The ambiance is very casual. Come inside and seat yourself. Despite this service was great and attentive. They have a good number of seats inside and a couple of tables outside as well.
google avatar

Yelp
After going to the dog park nearby I looked up places with a dog friendly patio and this restaurant had highly rated reviews. Although the patio space isn't the most spacious, it was still nice with the fan they had outside. I asked for a dog water bowl and an employee came out with one and a milkbone for my pup. He and I greatly appreciated it. I ordered egg rolls and a pork banh mi. The egg rolls came out piping hot with a side of nuoc cham dipping sauce. Honestly I think I could've just had two but they were so good. My sandwich was great, the bread was crisp on the outside, loaded with vegetables and the jalapeños inside were actually spicy. The pork was tender and seasoned well. I'll come back if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I think that this is my definition of Nirvana. Love the food, the beer selection generally is off the charts, and great service. Every time I am in town... at least one visit for spring rolls, bahn mi, wings, vermicelli,... I could go on but you just need to go check it out for yourself.
google avatar

Richard W.

Yelp
Great place and ambiance and excellent food at a reasonable price with excellent service

Yelp
Delicious Shaking beef Fried rice Crab chips They just need to put more seasoning on the chips

Yelp
I came here for weekday lunch. There were a good amount of people dining in. I walked in and walked towards the bar where I saw a sign stating "Please seat yourself". I sat down and within a few minutes I was greeted by the server who came with water for me. I tried the Thai iced tea, and it was delicious! It was perfect amount of sweetness used. I also tried the Pork Banh Mi. The meat was juicy and I could taste the char flavor. It also came with pickled carrots, cilantro, and jalapeño. The bun was crispy as well. I would definitely come back with friends and try their drinks at the bar, as it looks like they have many great options. This place is nicely decorated and would be perfect place to go with friends/family and catch up!
google avatar

Yelp
Had the chance to stop here on New Year's Day. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The staff is fast and friendly. We ordered the shaking beef and wonton soup. Both were average. The pork wontons lacked little flavor and the shaking beef was not anything spectacular. The salad was pretty much just salad from a bad and then they threw some beef into it. Willing to come back and try the banh mi.
google avatar

Charlene P.

Yelp
Updating my review. Tried a late Sunday afternoon and it was great. Good service and all our dishes were fresh, healthy, and delicious. They have the best tofu dishes around! It was a beautiful evening to sit on their patio. Nobi is always my go to for a fresh, mostly quick, casual, inexpensive meal. And of course, they always have a good selection of beers and ciders.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a couple of times, Food is good had the pork Bahn mi with a side of steamed rice. Meat and sandwich was juicy and flavorful. Service was great, waiter attentive and friendly. Helped us out pick drinks and was very knowledgeable. Super nice ambiance the atmosphere wasn't so loud or crowded there was a lot of people but not to the point where it was too much.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't be fooled walking in here because you don't get Vietnamese vibes but the energy level is great! The waitress was awesome and we really like how we were able to sample a view of the drinks. Food was definitely a win because everything was delicious. I went with my family and sister/brother in law and we order a variety of different items. I didn't order a drink but took a sip of the sample that they my wife asked for. I think that was pretty cool they did that. From the appetizers we ordered spring rolls butter garlic wings and crab chips. The crab chips may not seem like a lot but they are big chips. They also come out fresh and hot ready to eat with a bit of seasoning on it (not spicy). My 4 year old loved it and went right for it! the Garlic butter wings were juicy and tasteful. The sauce was so good we all kept picking at the garlic pieces because it was so good. My wife seemed to enjoy the spring rolls (I past on them). I order the shaking beef which is beef with fried rice. The fried rice is subpar nothing that stood out and actually wasn't really flavorful. The beef was tender and flavorful. The lemon sauce was just the right touch for it. Over all a great place with great food, I just wish they had some kid options on the menu.
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
I'm not sure why it took me so long to sing the praises of this joint. But, better late than never. Though Nobi Public House doesn't offer an expansive food menu -- OK, the food selection is plenty -- they offer enough brews to float a battleship. My personal favorite here is the fried pork on the appetizer menu. But the egg rolls, wonton soup and vermicelli dishes also get there for the Vietnamese dong! If you can't find a quaffable beverage on the drink menu, you might ought to just drink H2O and be done with it. This place is busy and often crowded, but comfy. Service here can be a crapshoot, but it's mostly good.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting briefly in Houston area. Had the tofu spring roll appetizer. Fried tofu a nice touch, peanut sauce solid. I had the lemongrass tofu bahn mi - sandwich was excellent, the garlic and grilled onions broadening and deepening the flavor profile. Very very pleased. Daughter had the pork bahn mi, stated it was flavorful and yummy. Service was solid. Friendly and proficient staff.
google avatar

Margaret M.

Yelp
OMG! This is where my grandkids want me to take them for lunch! It's unbeatable! I have never eaten anything there that I haven't craved a few days later. Give them a try!

Yelp
I want to say Nobi is one of Clear Lake's hidden gems, but there's plenty of reviews showing its popularity. If I'm not in Houston having fun, the Clear Lake area is my next option for food and drinks. Customer service has always been good even when they are super busy on nights and weekends. The store isn't all that big, but they do have a cozy patio. Their sister restaurant Nobi Asian Grill makes some of the best banh mi sandwiches in the greater Houston area. This place does that, plus other amazing food. That's not even the best part. The best part is the their extensive beer menu. I always get a banh mi because they're that good. All the ingredients are fresh. The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bread is slathered with garlic butter that puts it over the top. I've had the eggrolls which are good. The fried pork is just that, a mound of seasoned and hand battered fried pork. It is a great combination with a nice cold brewski. The pork fries are just ok. I've had it a few times and it's not really their strong point. The cheese is always lukewarm. Don't sleep on some of their entrees like vermicelli, fried rice and other items because they are delicious too. Overall, a great spot in the middle of Clear Lake that I am sure I will be back to!
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
I enjoy the Cajun seafood fries will try more of the menu. The area for sitting has changed a lot .

John S.

Yelp
Went in for beers on a Sunday night. Wasn't very crowded and staff seemed like they were ready for us to leave even though it was an hour before closing time. Nice beer selection.

Kay M.

Yelp
Hidden Gem. The beef was great, the lemon sauce was a nice addition. Would recommend.
google avatar

Jarrod M.

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise! I got the wonton soup and shaken tofu and both were delicious! The soup was rich and flavorful. It's hard to find good tofu at restaurants but this was cooked perfectly and was super flavorful. I highly recommend.

Khristin D.

Yelp
We come here very often for date night and tonight we came and they no longer carry Sriracha sauce!! They have a chin-su as a replacements d it is not the same :( Please bring back the sriracha!!! This chin-su is not good.
google avatar

Luis B.

Yelp
They Need to update hours on yelp. Called and told grill closes at 10:30pm and they are closing at 11pm. Got my hopes up for nothing!

Jonathan C.

Yelp
Spicy (mildly spicy) fish sauce wings!!! New favorite wing flavor. This is possibly a very addictive place to go to. Great Service.
google avatar

Danny S.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Webster along with Hyde park. The food is high quality for a very reasonable price. Service and beer menu is always top notch. It's also just an easy spot to have fun at
google avatar

Michaella G.

Yelp
I will never say no to Nobi public house. This place is a real staple in the area. With so many beers and ciders on tap, that's secondary in my eyes to the absolutely delicious food they churn out. I've tried so many things here but my favorite will always be the spring rolls because of that godly peanut sauce. Service is standard, good sometimes, great other times but never bad. Some staff is not in the mood while others are always pleasant. So goes the service industry. The ambiance is chill, cozy and always cool. The option to sit inside or outside is super nice to take advantage of any decent weather we get. As a whole. This will always hold a special place in my "out to eat" list

Matthew S.

Yelp
One of absolute favorite spots to eat and grab a pint. The spring rolls are simply the best!
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
On vacation and the reviews were all correct! Lots of beer selection for everyone's taste and the nap sandwich was delicious!
google avatar

James C.

Yelp
Very cool and casual vibe. I don't drink beer often unless I end up at a brewery or tap room. When I do go, I go dark. The Christmas Bomb Stout from Prairie Brewing is top-notch. I highly recommend the spring rolls, Bahn MI, and Vermicelli bowls to eat. The vet was recommended by the outstanding and very busy bartender. I had to sit at the bar, as all the tables were occupied. The bar is nice but could very easily be too high to eat at very well for shorter folks. I'm just over 6'1", and the bar is just about level with my upper pectoral area. If I was a smaller man, I would need two phone books and a booster seat. Other than that, I love this place.
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
Great little gastropub in an area that definitely lacks gastropubs, Nobi House has become a favorite destination for meeting up with friends on the Southeast part of town. While the space itself isn't very large, and you may be resigned to bar seats on popular nights, it's worth a visit for the tasty Vietnamese fare to go along with your favorite brew. Bar seating, indoor tables, and even a small outdoor patio are options. I've ordered their banh mi a few times. Definitely not my favorite banh mi, but it's not bad for a bar rendition. Their bread isn't the usual traditional baguette and missing that great crunch I love in a toasted baguette. At least the filling were tasty and fresh. Plus, I love that they provide Maggi as a condiment. I always enjoy a dash. My friends have all enjoyed their food as well, so great job there. Wish there was perhaps a bigger patio, but it is what it is! Definitely worth a visit.

Craig L.

Yelp
Service was great and that's very appreciated. The food, on the other hand, was lacking. The spring rolls were gummy and didn't have much flavor, but the biggest disappointment was the pork bahn mi. The pork had no flavor at all and was mushy. Everything about the sandwich was disappointing. If you're going for the beer, Nobi may be the best choice. If you're going for the food there are better options in the NASA/League City area.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
Awesome hipster Vietnamese food! The shaking beef dish with fried rice and a poached egg was fantastic and was such a unique take on the more traditional Vietnamese bo luc lac dish. Also found the banh mi to be some of the best I have had in the Houston area. Great selection of beer here as well. Locally sourced brewers and a wide selection of stouts, IPAs, and lagers.
