The 38 Best Restaurants in Calgary, Canada | Eater

"This New York-style pizza maker commanded waits of up to two hours back when it was operating out of a kitchen window at Eighty-Eight Brewing Co., though demand remains pretty high at Noble Pie’s brick-and-mortar location in Calgary’s Beltline neighborhood. Owner Mike Lange could impress even a New York native with pies like the Sweet Cheesus (aged and fresh mozzarella, grana padano, pecorino, caciocavallo, and oregano, drizzled with hot honey) and the Roni (made with famed Ezzo pepperoni). If you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur, this place should be a top priority on your to-eat list. [$$]" - Dan Clapson

Noble Pie serves great artisanal pizza, though it’s not a true New York slice like you’d find in NYC. The Roni was especially delicious and well balanced. The space works well for groups, though it can get a bit loud inside. Service was attentive and friendly, matching the casual but polished feel of the restaurant.

Omg. I finally made it here and it was worth the wait but now I’m mad I waited so long. Everything was impeccable. The atmosphere was great, the service, top notch! My water glass was never empty nor was my wine! But if course the star of the show is the pie…. It was cheesy, it was salty, it was spicy, it was crunchy, it was everything I wanted it to be! Pls pls pls don’t be stupid like me and sleep on noble pie because it truly is as good or better than everyone says! Tysm for a great night!

Absolutely loved the pizza and the overall atmosphere! The service was exceptional—my glass was never empty for even a second, and the staff were all incredibly polite and attentive. I tried the Red Hook pizza, and it was bursting with flavor—crispy, cheesy, and perfectly balanced. Can’t wait to come back!

Thus far out of all the pizza I have tried in Calgary, this is the spot you want to try. Insane quality, insane portion. Amazing pies made with love and passion. My personal recommendation is getting your pizza with the extra hot honey. Ordered two occasions and both times it has been fantastic. Will be coming here for my birthday or any special days I feel like pizza 100%

Google
One of the hardest places to dine in as the wait list is always so long. However for a reason. These pizzas are top tier and are made to perfection everytime. The Brooklyn White is my favourite. But I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. Pro tip order take out and eat in the parking lot. Still might take 50mins to get your pies on the weekends but it’s worth it.

Google
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good choice of drinks, great value! Good pizza, four of us split two large pizzas, a Brooklyn White and the other a half Sweet Cheesus and half Extra Fancy. We all found both pizzas a little sweet to our taste…

Having just recently come back from Italy my pizza standards are incredibly high. The pizza here? Incredibly impressive. Perfect crust, high quality toppings and a delectable sauce. I will be coming back again.

Google
This pizza was the best I’d ever had. We just moved to Calgary and I’m glad to have gotten welcomed into the pie scene with this absolute masterpiece. Can’t wait to dine in, too, the vibes are immaculate!

Yelp
Noble Pie is a small shop, tucked away behind an alley, serving up HUGE flavors! The hidden location added charm and surely would surprise your date or friends bringing a unique vibe. If dining in isn't your thing, you can do what I did and order to go, but you need to make sure you order hours before. The long wait is the only reason I am bringing the rating down a Star; I feel 3 hours for a to go salad and pizza is outrageous. Once you get the past the long wait, you can finally enjoy the food and everything was truly amazing. The Caesar salad was peppery and crushed croutons is way better than whole ones. The real star was the pizza; easily the best pizza I have ever had. It was perfectly balanced with salty cheese, sweet honey and the sesame crust was incredible. Although the wait was long, I still highly recommend.

Yelp
this spot is touted as one of the best pizza places in calgary! I was excited to try and we got a 18" half roni/half extra fancy ($38). The pizza was overall pretty good - it had a solid crust, crispy pepperoni, and a good cheese/sauce ratio. The only downside is we had to wait a bit before eating so the pizza wasn't totally warm when we ate so I didn't get to try when it was fresh and can't give a full unbiased review. Will need to come back again next time and see if it deserves the full 5 stars!

Yelp
This place is quite popular, so if you plan to go, make sure to get on the waitlist right away. We ordered both the Roni and Magic Pie since my husband and I couldn't agree on toppings. We ended up trying each other's and thought both were really good. The sauce is tasty, and the toppings are high quality. However, the pizza is quite expensive--over $20. In my opinion, there are other places that offer better value for the price. So, I probably won't be rushing back.

Yelp
Pizza is incredible- best Pizza in YYC and holds its own against NYC and CT. Great vibe, elevated bar with outstanding Music. Service is professional, welcoming and efficient. A must stop if you are looking for a fun pizza night.

Yelp
Noble Pie is a bit hard to find, located in a parking lot between 10th and 11th Ave SW. relaxed seating area. Our pizza and Caesar salad were delicious. We managed to easily finish off a large half and half pizza. Good beer and wine selection. Service is friendly and attentive. Good idea to join their online wait list because Noble is very popular.

Yelp
Tasty pizza from a cute and trendy pizza spot. We ordered takeout to avoid the lines to eat in. The pizza dough was cooked to perfection and both he sausage pizza and cheese pizza are delicious! The cheese pizza was unique in that it is the first time we've had a pizza with honey on it. Service was friendly and we look forward to coming back again!

Yelp
Delicious. Also pricey, pretentious, silly, annoying, cramped, uncomfortable, dangerous, and who the heck doesn't have ice or water that doesn't taste like rust- these people. No 10% tip option is not helping. Ah well. Stay away.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Friday night. I would recommend looking into reservations, as it was a 75 minute wait. Ended up doing take out, and we only waited 15 minutes for our pizza. It was worth the wait! Crispy pizza with delicious flavors! Always love honey on a pizza. I was nervous about spice level with a toddler, but it wasn't too spicy. The cheese pizza was actually my favorite combination of flavors with the hot honey, but saucy mama was also delicious with the sweet peppers. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Waited an hour for take out but worth the wait! We got the Roni and the Brooklyn White. I think the Brooklyn White with the sesame seed crust and hot honey may be one of the best pizzas I've ever had. So dang good

Yelp
My favourite pizza in Calgary. It's so worth the wait to get in. Service is quick and the vibe is cool.

Yelp
I am on a quest to find some of the best pizza in Calgary, and after eating here, I am still searching. The Roni and Tasty pizzas were good but not spectacular; maybe a bit more sauce on the pizza would have made a difference. I felt something was missing from my pies. The service was excellent, as was the ambience, I like how this place it tucked away in the alley.

Yelp
It definitely isn't in a spot easy to drive by and see. I wanted to try this place since it got amazing reviews saying it taste like authentic New York pizza. It doesn't really live up to its hype. New York pizza is way better and this pizza is not floppy like New York. I gave this place 2 stars only because of their Caesar salad. It was delicious and perfectly dressed. Definitely not a salad to loose weight but a delicious salad. The place is small and overly crowded. You are less than a seat away from everyone and are breathing down peoples neck when you walk through. Barely any space for walking. You can hear 4 conversations at all times. The pizza crust tastes like napolitan pizza because it's not floppy and charred like napolitan and not as cheesy. Una has more cheesier and flavourful pizza. They also don't give you oregano or parm or chili flakes to add if you want which would be nice Another thing is they don't accept cash.

Yelp
The pizza was delicious especially with the garlic dip. I'll be returning for sure the atmosphere of the place gave me a good welcoming feeling and very good service

Yelp
This is one of those restaurants that you can visit weekly. I am already looking forward to the next visit. The Brooklynn white is my favorite.

Yelp
We were visiting Calgary and thought we would grab some pizza. I thought it was pretty goo but hubby thought the crust was a little over done. Delicious. I originally thought it was vegan. Thank god it wasn't. Pictures did make it look yummier.

Yelp
Outstanding pies in an intimate setting with fantastic and friendly service. They run a seemingly ordinary pizza oven pretty hot and coax out some of the best pizza we've ever had! We ordered a half Sweet Cheesus w/ the hot honey on the side and a half Saucy Mama but held the peppers. Everything was incredible. And to think it all started with a back alley entrance! Love everything about this place!

Graham G.

Yelp
Unreal pies and down home good service, no hi brow here ...! Just solid great food and quick quality service.. loved the Bottles of original COKE bottles with the beautiful pies

Yelp
Great premium pizza. We tried the saucy mama, roni, and extra fancy pizzas and have nothing but great things to say about all of them.

Yelp
Truly the best pizza in Canada. New York style with its own twist. Family business, friendly staff. Dedicated artisans who favour quality over quantity. And they're continuously improving. What more can you want?

Yelp
One of Calgary's best! Although pricey, the pies are amazing! Crust that is good enough to eat on its own, carefully selected and prepared toppings, and punctual service has made Noble Pie our latest favourite. Note: the pies are huge, bring a friend!

Yelp
I've never dined in at Noble Pie and am hoping to do so soon but their take out truly does impress. We ordered two pizzas and everything from the flavours to the bake to the sizing was incredible. For what you receive, the prizes are reasonable and the service (once again, just for take out) was very friendly and knowledgeable when asked about recommendations. I am saving the last star for when I am able to dine in and get the full experience which I'm sure will be nothing but great.

Yelp
Delish! Best ZA in Calgary that my wife and I have had after living here for 30 years! Yum!!

Christina G.

Yelp
The food and service is great but it's not a family friendly restaurant. They had no highchairs so my husband and I had to take turns holding our busy 12 month so the other could eat.
