This cafe is a gem! The staff is incredibly friendly, pleasant, and always willing to provide helpful information about their menu and offerings. The espresso is amazing—rich and full of flavor—while the cappuccino is truly excellent, perfectly balanced with creamy foam. Even their regular coffee stands out, offering a solid, satisfying experience. All the treats on display look absolutely mouthwatering, making it hard to choose just one. Plus, the washrooms are spotless, adding to the overall comfort and appeal of the place. Love the options at this place but the prices are absurd. I paid over $20 for a tiny breakfast sandwich and the bread was worse than what you’d get at the grocery store. Go to modern bread and bagel where for less than that you can get an amazing gluten free bagel sandwich that’s double the quality and bigger. Was shocked that the chocolate croissants are over $10 - they are decent but way too expensive

Love a gluten free spot, but was disappointed. The egg sandwich is NOT worth $20– flat premade unseasoned folded eggs with some decent bacon. No butter or moisture on the toasted bread. Was supposed to be a brioche bun but they subbed it for regular toast without telling me. Not terrible, but very overpriced and I could definitely make it better at home. Blueberry scone was tasty but really had no blueberries or blueberry flavor. Chocolate croissant is a nice thing to have GF but it was definitely a bit heavy, dry, and cakey- probably much better had with a coffee or tea for moisture. Also would appreciate if they posted more info about their ingredients.

I can’t comment on quality of food, but the prices were robbery. Truly outrageous. A small sandwich was $15! I decided to give it another shot and order a chocolate croissant. For reference, it was about half the size of a standard chocolate croissant. It was $10! Does it have gold?! I’m okay paying extra, but this was absurd.

Most overpriced hot chocolate I could imagine for what tastes like hot water with chocolate powder. For 8,5$ I expected some real milk with good quality chocolate powder. Also the table was really greasy. Not acceptable! The only good thing about this location it’s directly near Central Park and we had a seat in the sunshine.

Really bad value for money… Paid 118 USD for 3 x juice, 1 x water, 1 x coconut water, 2 x coffee and 4 cakes/croissant. The croissant had absolutely nothing to do with a croissant - it was dryer than dust and practically inedible. Same with the marble cake. Lime tart was okay, but not 11 dollars worth at all (not even in NYC;) Toilet, walls, tables, chairs were dirty. Not recommendable!

I used to like coming here. What happened to the food preparation? I ordered oatmeal and was very disappointed. It was barely lukewarm and had a humongous ton of coconut shreds burying the oatmeal. Hmm. What happened? I’ve had it before. It used to take maybe 10 minutes to prepare and was well worth the wait. A sprinkling of coconut and some fruit. This time it took :15 seconds and was so disappointing I returned it for a refund and left. I won’t be back.

Gluten free desserts and breakfast items for a costly price. A square of quiche for $20 is crazy. As far as GF goes, they’re typically not cheap, but we’re in the UES yk. I got the chocolate eclair and savory scone, and I found the eclair to be very good. The scone wasn’t as moist as I would’ve expected, but definitely not bone dry. If you’re celiac and live up here, I guarantee this place is a lifesaver.

Needed coffee and to get out of the wind, so stepped into the first cafe I came across. Initially, I had no idea that I was in for a gluten free treat. The blueberry almond muffin is delicious. If you get a pastry Make sure to ask for a napkin because one isn't automatically supplied. The drip coffee is hot, Unfortunately, it tastes burnt and bitter. I enjoyed the music that played in the background and watched the world go by outside. Good place for a quick respite from the elements.

okay listen...I hate to give a bad review but...I unfortunately saw too many things :( customer brought back their drink (they had already taken a sip out of) and asked for drink to be made warmer. they put the entire drink back into the pitcher and warmed it back up. then used the same pitcher to steam milk for next customer. i feel like that's not sanitary? also saw a cockroach...which happens. it's new york after all. however, once worker was told he came over and squashed it with his shoe and then left his juice all over the floor. kinda gross? customer service was generally not friendly and not much natural light in seating area. drinks/menu was expensive but pretty good though & interior design is cute!

Noglu is a no gluten bakery that also serves a small menu breakfast and coffee both regular and espresso based. The place started in Paris and now there is this location in the UES. I tried the Vegan Coconut Banana Cake and honestly it was heavenly. I'll probably come back to get this and try something else out. The Cappucino I got was neither amazing nor bad so something that I enjoyed but wouldn't go out of my way for. I will say it does get docked some points because of how expensive it actually is. The palm sized cake was $10 and the Cappucino was $7.50 which I find on the more expensive end, but I guess it won't stop me from coming back.

Although I think it's amazing that they serve an underrepresented population of gluten-free and celiac individuals. There is absolutely no excuse for grossly overcharging people with allergies. $7 for croissant I can understand. $6 for two inch tart. However $17 for a slice of pizza is highway robbery. My jaw literally dropped when he rang up my order. Questions: Does it have black truffles? Does it have gold flake? Does it have caviar? Perhaps it grants 3 wishes or meaning of life. Only on the Upper East Siders overlooking Central Park can afford this place. Other than that, you should mortgage your house and come eat here

Not exactly friendly; not exactly amazing; not exactly terrible; not exactly comfortable; not exactly reason enough to return; kind of very pricey.

I purchased a muffin and a chocolate croissant (all gluten free). Honestly, the prices are very high for being GF, and I feel that the ingredients used I can easily purchase and make it myself. But ok sometimes a splurge is a splurge. However both the croissant and the muffin were very dry. Perhaps sometimes baked goods do need a bit of butter to moisten it up.

I get that I'm not so fashionable person, not from Park Avenue. But if I said "for here", I expect it for here, on a dish, warmed up. I've got cold tarts in a carton board with a plastic forks. Thank you very much. They are even not "room temperature", they are freezer. Have you tasted freezer tarts? Disgusting.

Serious disappointment - chocolate croissants are a puff pastry disaster? This place is appalling when compared to the sister restaurant in Paris. Instead expect Americanized bakery items no even close to a French bakery.

I've been here many times, and have mixed feelings about this place. Their eclair is good, but costs $10! Their hot chocolate tastes like swiss miss (go down the block to their other location Glace by Noglu for hot chocolate instead). Got a spinach and feta quiche and it was so small. Service is a hit or miss. Get the cream puff to go (but expect it to be really small)!

Stupidly, we didn't realize this was a gluten-free restaurant. Thank goodness I didn't buy pastries. But the sandwich left a lot to be desired despite being gluten free. We bought 3 tomato-mozzerella-pesto sandwiches ($15 each)... the "bread" fell apart like sand in our mouths, and the ingredients inside were tasteless. We are NOT GF people, so we may have the wrong expectations about GF items... and the pastries might have been amazing. The coffee was good, though, and it's a great location with comfortable seats and tables.

Great spread of gluten free treats! The only downside is the pricing which there are cheaper options in the city but not on the UES. Their muffins are baked to perfection and be sure to try a madeleine. Also their coffees are not the best.

A gluten-free bakery and cafe tucked into the UES -- my friends and I stopped by after visiting museums. The food itself is just out in display cases, and $12 for a tiny cheesecake felt like a rip-off. I do love the outdoor patio and proximity to Central Park, but not sure I'd make the trek back!

NO*GLU[ten] =^D - ENTIRE bakery/cafe is celiac safe! They also have an associated ice cream shop next door! My friend & I lyfted to Glacé by NoGlu on accident, not realizing the bakery was just a door or so down - we decided to have ice cream for breakfast LOL! Notes & responses to other yelps: YES everything in here is overpriced but if you can afford to splurge on a gluten free meal, this is the spot! SERVICE was great! No complaints, we did visit later in the morning so I'm unsure of what the busy mornings look like. The cafe seems to be very focused on sustainability as the only thing in plastic containers are the delicious gluten free pasta (that I wish I had bought!). They have the most delicious sweets and treats in the window, I can see how a meal for a family might cost a weeks grocery. I ordered a salmon bagel and let me tell you! I'll never forget it. A delicious piece of gluten free heaven. The bakery/cafe is also beautiful inside and located on a very cute corner. A MUST VISIT if you're gf and from outta town.

Huge disappointment. The prices are high, but the food... In my opinion, with such prices, the restaurant should be tasty and cozy. There is none of that here. I've seen their other project ad a million times on social media, so the ratings on Yelp and Google didn't break my interest. A GF patisserie in NY, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. The problem was there was so many wonderful things in that beautiful display case that I have not eaten in years, it was hard to choose. I settled on a chocolate eclair and an everything bagel to bring home for breakfast. The eclair was just how I remembered them to be, delicious! My bagel was good, I'm still in search of that perfect ny bagel that is gf I still haven't quite found it but this was close. So if you want some delicious pastry and desserts, this is your place.

TL;DR This cafe was an overpriced disappointment. -- Context -- My mom and I decided to round out a lovely afternoon at the Met with some GF treats. Knowing that I was going to be eating at a dedicated GF bakery definitely elevated my expectations--I was expecting a panoply of flavorful baked goods that were going to satiate my cravings for GF pastries that don't taste GF. Sadly, my expectations were woefully unmet. -- Ambiance -- The setting is pretty standard. No complaints nor compliments to offer about the cafe itself. -- Service -- The person working at the counter was not altogether knowledgeable about the pastries sold. She seemed uncertain if the eclair had chocolate or custard filling, for example. The coffees were delivered to our table in a timely manner. -- Food -- THE PRICES ARE UNJUSTIFIABLY STEEP. They'd be worth it if the products sold were impeccable, but they're just NOT. The three baked goods we bought were decidedly underwhelming. I haven't eaten a croissant in five years and when I saw that they offered a croissant a small burst of hope expanded in my chest that perhaps I might be able to experience the joy of flakey, buttery goodness once more. Of course, there was another shadow in the background whispering, "It's too good to be true." I should have listened to the shadow. The "croissant" was indeed croissant-shaped but it had neither the flavor nor texture of its namesake. It was dry and flavorless. The cream puff and eclair's dough was similarly desiccated. The cream puff was slightly salvaged by a thinner layer of the dough, which allowed for the flavor of the whipped cream to shine through a bit more. But the custard of the eclair was overwhelmed by an overly saccharine frosting and tough layer of dough. To end on a less bitter note, there *is* a silver lining to this experience. While I felt pretty despondent after my visit to this cafe, I soon bounced back and decided to take more ownership of my GF journey. I've decided to start baking my own pastries at home. So far, I've found an excellent cupcake recipe (https://www.glutenfreepalate.com/gluten-free-vanilla-bean-cupcakes/) and am excited to try recipes (including the croissant and cinnamon bun recipes) from Let Them Eat Gluten Free Cake, which look incredibly promising from reviews.

Ok, yes, the prices are definitely up there. Personally, I do believe it comes with the territory of eating gluten-free pastries in a major city, but for what its worth, what we got was shockingly hard to tell was gluten-free. I'd say their most famous pastry is the cream puff, which I would recommend to everyone who first comes here - it's the best! When I came in, the staff was really friendly to me and provided recommendations on what to order. I ended up ordering a matcha latte to go with the pastry, and it was standard. The ambiance is also really nice to grab coffee with someone and is in a really nice area. Overall, I think it's great there are options for those who are gluten-free, and definitely recommend to all.

I have celiac disease, and desperately miss pastries. I am not often in New York, but when I am I don't miss an opportunity to visit Noglu. My favorites: 1. The cream puffs 2. The lemon tart 3. The chocolate eclair The chocolate eclair is really good! The chocolate pastry cream is excellent and the dark chocolate glaze complements the sweet filling. I was told it is extremely popular. I understand why. The lemon tart's curd is bright and shockingly citrus-y, exactly the taste explosion that is hoped for. Bonus, the pastry base is not a hard shell, but tender enough to give under a plastic fork. But the cream puff.... For me, the cream puff is the star of the show. These cream puffs are the only time that gluten free choux pastry has had both the correct taste and feel that remember of wheat-based cream puffs. Perhaps the memory of "real" cream puffs has faded, but I don't think so. These cream puffs are better than any other gluten free ones I've had in the past dozen years and as good as I remember eating in Paris when I was younger. Thank you Noglu! European cafe conveniently located by the Met & Central Park. The cappuccino was average but I was still content with it. Overpriced for its quality and preparation, but that's what you get when you're in a wealthy area. The service was efficient: you order up front and receive a number, and the seating is first come first serve for customers. The pastries looked good and there was also a to-go window! The sealed beverages were high-end and reminded me of the Juice Press at Equinox. The bathroom was something you can work with if you're in a hurry, but there was a constant queue for it.

Noglu has reopened after their move to a much larger space. It's now all on the ground floor. I'm happy I don't have to climb upstairs with my coffee. I used to enjoy my visits to the old space. I'm really going to enjoy this new spacious atmosphere. When I eat here I have to just order what I want and give them my credit card. I can't question the price. I don't want to know in advance! Gluten free homemade pastries come with a price. I can wholeheartedly recommend these gluten free delights. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to the new location for a pastry and coffee.

The best thing about this spot is that you can try so many flavors! And each is delicious. I dove into my double scoop ($9/ Single $7 - so double made sense), and didn't get a picture. My son enjoyed the creamy, airy coffee milkshake but found the paper straw put in the plastic cup frustrating. Service was terrific from the patient man behind the counter, although the second on staff was a bit slow to realize that with everyone trying multiple flavors, people on growing line needed attention. Indoor space is tiny, suitable for 2 -3 couples and one couple and a small family. Most wait outside. Tables outside had umbrellas and were cleaned while we were there. Pricey so if you a ready to splurge for some creamy flavors, worth the wait.

It is very surprising that everything in this spot is gluten-free. The pastries were absolutely delightful. It's a cozy café on the upper east side close to the park with good service.

I came here with a friend who has an allergy to gluten - this was a spot kept coming up during my searches as one of the best places. I will say, it is nice to see a bakery dedicated to serving the gluten free community. The pastries looked nice and I was very excited to dig in, but unfortunately the taste was just not there... they were pretty expensive too ($10 each and $20 for a small quiche). A real shame because I really wanted to like this place.

The food is ok, though not nearly as good as at the Noglus in Paris. My main gripe is that it's soooooooooo expensive. $12 for an eclair. $10.50 for a croissant. For lunch I had just a grilled cheese (which was small), a tomato soup, and a water. It came to $34 with the tip. For dessert, I paid $6 separately for a tiny, two-bite chocolate chip cookie. It's too expensive and not good enough to merit a commute from anywhere beyond the upper east side.

purchased baked goods yesterday & started enjoying this morning, love the appetizing sizes as I'm totally overwhelmed by giant bread-like muffins often from delis & food carts, but Noglu offers the perfect 3 bite size muffins :), each one has own tastes & gentle for me, maybe I'm from Japan, the size & tastes & sensitivities, work for me very well :)

Decided to try this bakery after reading about it. French & gluten free, nothing could go wrong. Had the pumpkin and corn muffins, both to go. Ate some at room temperature and others warmed up, the hot version was better. Both flavors were great! The shop is small but beautiful, currently located at 1260 Madison and not 1266. Staff were attentive. Will definitely recommend trying because if you are gluten intolerant this place is paradise.

It was cool to stumble upon this gluten free bakery! I had the croissant with ham and cheese. For ~$17 it's more than I would have expected to pay for a little sandwich (lol) but it's not often I get to have a GF croissant. It's worth stopping by for a quick bite before or after the Guggenheim. Nice ambiance and plenty of seating.

Limited options for people with tree nut allergies. All savory sandwiches use tree nuts in pesto and/or bread. Servers were rude when asking about this. My partner was snapped at and talked to in a condescending way when she asked if there were nuts in the quiche, like of course there are nuts in quiche apparently. You'd think a place whose entire personality is predicated on an allergen would be better about other allergens. I recommend instead eating at Senza Gluten, which has excellent and polite staff, along with plenty of gluten free dessert options. What a bunch of clowns.

Astronomical prices in the two years I've been going there and the quality has gone down - they no longer wipe down their tables

I popped in shortly before closing with a friend while we were on a walk through the neighborhood. We were looking for a dairy free treat and luckily they had a couple of options that were clearly marked with ingredients. The staff was also very helpful in identifying/confirming their dairy free bakery selection for us, and they were very conversational and nice. My friend got a dairy free blueberry muffin and said it was good. I got the hot chocolate with oat milk and it was also delicious and very rich. I like that they serve wine as well, have a nice space for outdoor seating, and have gluten free bakery items.

Felt like I needed to update my review just because it was too overhyped and overpriced the most recent time I visited. I paid $10 to wait incredibly long for an overly burnt grilled cheese sandwich aka two slices of gf bread and maybe 2 slices of cheese in between and then another $10 for a cup of chia pudding that maybe lasted 5 spoonfuls. Their tiny premade salads were apparently almost $20 - basically imo, steer clear of their grab & go options, which really felt like a ripoff. Definitely felt like could've spent my money better somewhere else and doubtful I'll come back because my wallet just can't take it lol. If you do come here for a huge splurge, I can only recommend their desserts, specifically their tarts.

I can't believe how much this sandwich cost for the size and the quality. It was also shockingly dry. If you want to pay double the price of Pret for sandwiches that taste about the same, be my guest. Only not giving them lower because it's highly possible that this place isn't supposed to be where you get sandwiches from? Like maybe that's not their specialty? But boy. Why offer such an overpriced bad item?

Didn't even get to try the food! Walked in and met the rudest person of all time, a Hispanic middle aged man, to greet me at the front desk reception. I asked about their cider, he snapped at me and turned his head. I walked out after telling him that was rude and he laughed and snickered. The management needs to check for professionalism

Coffee was pretty good. Most of the workers seemed to not speak English, but thankfully I speak Spanish. May be an issue for those who don't - they didn't seem to understand my order until I said it in Spanish. Both the exterior and interior seating areas are nice and actually have adequate tables and chairs; a rarity in New York.

A little pricy for the food. But it was yummy. Lots of staff but the tables were dirty, and they were just standing around. Would come, but could be better.

Place is just ok. Went today for a hot chocolate hugely advertised on Instagram, super excited to try it just to find out that the place that serves it few doors up and have a line of 50 people, would be like more than an hour to wait in a snow. So we came back to get regular hot chocolate from this place. First of all, it's not melted chocolate, it's just cocoa drink. Tastes just ok. I think that most coffee/chocolate drinks with almond milk are around $7-8 now days. But still this chocolate doesn't worth $8 in my opinion, was just ok, threw away half of it, won't be back.

I love that there's a bakery where everything in the entire place is gluten free. This is great for not only offering a wide selection of options instead of just a couple items, but also great for putting my mind at ease with regard to cross contamination. The creampuff was very tasty but theparis Brest I ordered was just so-so as well the Americano. Overall, I love the concept of this, but I think that it's a bit too pricey for me to go back, given the quality couldn't quite fill the void that I feel for bakeries after no longer eating gluten.

i'm not usually a hater but I stepped out for lunch and didn't think that much about it when I got boxed pesto pasta and a matcha latte... it came out to 31 dollars. let me attach a photo of how much pesto pasta I got for 20 dollars so u understand why I had to get this off my chest.

I am PSYCHED to find this gem in NYC!! My husband and I were in Paris earlier this year and he has celiac, so we were hunting for GF croissants and yumminess... we found it at Noglu there, so a girlfriend and I were hunting for a tea spot and I saw Nolgu, I was elated. I got the blueberry and corn muffins, which were delicious, and she got the double chocolate muffin, also a hit. The coffee is yummy and the atmosphere is gooooood!!

100% GLUTEN FREE!! The top quality pastries in this Madison Ave bakery have blown me away. It is so crazy that I can eat every single item to my hearts content. I bought way more than planned. My favorite was the Blueberry cake! I also bought a variety of muffins that I will continue to enjoy for the next few days!

Noglu definitely has some of the best gluten-free food and dessert options in the area! I'm not personally gluten-free and I eat dessert virtually every day, so I can reliably say that it was extremely difficult to tell that any of their pastries contained no gluten. My friends and I shared the pecan tart, the raspberry muffin, and the cream puff, all of which were really great. The only give-away was that the raspberry muffin tasted a bit like a corn muffin (I'm assuming it used corn flour), but I love corn muffins so I was satisfied. The standout was definitely the cream puff, which was airy and delicious. There's also plenty of seating, and the interior is really nice. Definitely worth a try, especially if you're gluten-free!

So expensive don't go here, literally go anywhere else. Waste of money. I spent $20 on a yogurt and drink and both sucked. Pre packaged sandwich was $16! What a disgrace

Noglu makes my heart so so happy, and it's easily become my favorite gluten free spot in all of New York City. Remember back when gluten free baked goods were gross, dense, and bitter? Noglu makes that all a distant memory. There's everything from sandwiches to pastries, but my favorites are the lemon meringue tartes and cream puffs. And the fruit tartes are truly what dreams are made of. Honorable mention goes to the muffins and eclairs. And you can bet if there's a french pastry you miss from pre-gluten free days, Noglu will have it. Best of all: there's a punch card for a free muffin after 10 visits. As if I needed an incentive to come here even more!

Nice pastries but rude staff. My partner and I wanted some French treats to bring with us to our trip up to the Bronx so we stopped here just to see if they were worth it. To sum it all up: the eclairs were amazing and the pear tart was to die for. Only issue was the weird staff. They seem to be focused more on making fun of people wearing masks (we still in a pandemic y'all) than they are of actually making a good coffee. My partner said her coffee was just half and half, which I'm not surprised about because no one makes good coffee in the city anymore if we keeping it a hunnit. Real talk, that vanilla eclair is worth the trip if you don't mind being around sidewalk Karens and the occasional Queer hipster dude who looks like he's judging you on your wardrobe like an episode of project runway. And PS: stop complaining about the price, it's a luxury to get gluten free treats so deal with it!

Paid $22 for a mocha and a slice of almost inedible mixed berry loaf, it was so dry I could hardly swallow it. The mocha was fine but it was so expensive it should have been made of liquid gold. I understand inflation, but this place is inflating far past their quality and standard pricing.

It's a cute cafe that has more than 10 tables for dine in, they have a variety of pastries and sweets. I had spinach & feta quiche (outside crust part is hard), cream puff, and latte. The outer part of quiche could have done better and not sure if it's worth $20. The overall experience was great, but I am giving 3 starts because I believe the price is bit on higher side for what is being offered ($7 for an iced coffee seems a bit overboard).
