Refined high quality cuisine. It is versatile and creative. Worth to highlight the chef’s specialty dish Nikusui, which is a jelly-type beef soup with a hint of ginger that was superb; also worth highlighting the firefly squid with shrimp. The staff is very friendly and attentive, yes they tend to be casual but i consider this to be more in the positive side for a restaurant in Japan. The chef is there to explain every dish and he makes his best effort to ensure everyone has a good time. I will be recommending this place to my friends and family. This is a once in a lifetime meal.

If you are not very familiar with the Japanese food you may not be able to find the restaurant very special. However, if you are very familiar with japanese food of course this would be one of the best restaurants that you will experience. Especially for people who care about ingredients, freshness and the cuisine which helps to magnify the taste of the ingredient. This will be the perfect restaurant that you're looking for. I've experienced many different dishes of Japan from northern park to southern part. Kyoto cuisine is always very subtle and natural( not to overly spiced). If you are the person who like this kind of food you'll be very happy at this restaurant!!! I'm going there again tonight~:)

Food is border one-star but may be closer to what u get at hotel chain japanese restaurant, a good one. But choice of one or two many fish dishes in the set for me. Steak sandwich is a la carte only. There's a weird look that the main chef give to his supposed apprentices, which are one two step to casual most of time. I had a bit bloating after the meal.

A warm and thoughtful welcome made me feel immediately at ease—like being at home, but in a truly special place. Each dish was a discovery of flavors, crafted with mastery and served with kindness and professionalism. The quality of the food, the grace in every gesture, and the atmosphere all made this restaurant an experience to remember. A dinner I will carry in my heart, for its perfect blend of taste, beauty, and emotion.

A beautiful dinner. My wife and I couldn’t have had a better last meal in Japan before returning home from our trip. Horiguchi San crafted a perfect Omakase experience. Each plate complimented the next. The flavors were expertly balanced, with ingredients as fresh as they come. The atmosphere was quiet and reserved, respectful of such a notable establishment. Though, my wife and I felt lucky, as we were the last costumers of the night. Which led to us getting to chat with Horiguchi San and his some of his staff, elevating our experience, making us feel like regulars. We will certainly aim to return to Noguchi Tsunago. Whenever back in Kyoto.

I’ve had many kaiseki meals and this was by far the most underwhelming. The food just doesn’t taste good and they have a weird a la carte menu they present during the meal with basic things in it like soba or katsudon you would expect to find at a casual restaurant. I was in Japan for 12 days this trip and didn’t have a bad meal until this one.

Amazing food with lots of Umami flavor and freshness as the focus lies on the individual ingredients. If I could only eat one more dish til the end of my life, it would be the Gohan set - simple sophistication in a perfect state!!! Very welcoming staff and a hospitality atmosphere that we couldn‘t compare to anything else yet. Only Little downside: no ambience through light music or anything else, hence it feels a bit empty once only few people remain. But overall highly recommended - thx for a great night!
