"There are several ways to experience this ambitious, two-story restaurant. The ground floor is a chic lounge where bartenders shake and stir potent, boozy drinks. Up the winding staircase, find an open kitchen committed to crafting a serious tasting menu focused on seafood. To be clear, this is a team that likes to take risks and keep diners on their toes. Familiar ingredients like Oaxacan cheese, chintextle, starfruit, and hoja santa are deployed in imaginative, daring ways. Recent highlights include wild-caught tuna tataki rolled in vegetable ash as well as a refreshingly homey buffalo taco brushed in a rich demi-glace. Gracious, personable servers round out this satisfying, thoughtful experience in the heart of Oaxaca." - Michelin Inspector

The Way We Saw It

Google
This restaurant is located in a brutalist interior which is interesting. Unfortunately disturbed by too much clutter and unnecessary things laying around. Especially arriving at the place and being greeted by dirty dishes on a tray, deep freezer and microwave. However the food is spectacular and you should definitely eat here. We loved it and can highly recommended it. A beautiful mix of flavours of local ingredients but still not over flavoured. Perfect fish, meat and other seafood. We choose the 6 course tasting menu. Unfortunately only one wine was available. A red. In a restaurant of this category (pricing) a brighter choice would be expected. Unfortunately the outfit of the service staff was not at the level of sophistication of food and prices. Why does the kitchen team have beautiful uniforms and the service not? Little things which could be fixed easily will make this place to a perfect spot. We will definitely be back.

What a coz, vibrant, and different (in a very good way) place! We had the best host - she was so kind, helpful, and warm. Had one of my best drinks in Mexico here (the Plâtano sour), simply amazing. Also, we really enjoyed our starter and chocolate dessert.

Absolutely stunning restaurant and bar, with incredible food and drinks! The restaurant highlights local ingredients while also focusing on sustainability without diminishing taste - every element is well thought out, and the drinks are equally as amazing! Highly recommend!

This restaurant is soooo good. When in Oaxaca it is an absolute must. It's on the expensive side but the food is amazing. We spent a whole night there and kept ordering food 😅. The Mezcal Sour is definitely very nice and for food try the octopus dishes.

Dining at this restaurant was truly an unforgettable experience. Every dish offered a creative twist on traditional Mexican cuisine, with bold, impressive flavors that stood out in the best way. What made the evening even more special was the wonderful woman who took care of us (we regret not catching her name). Her energy was warm and welcoming, and it was clear she brought a wealth of experience to the table. She made us feel completely at home — like we were friends rather than first-time guests. Highly recommend paying this place a visit — it’s a beautiful mix of flavor, hospitality, and heart.

Their octopus croquets and the dessert were very much on point. Tostada wasn’t too special. Great view over the streets of Oaxaca city and attentive service. I didn’t meet the chef my friend recommended but the dinner was still good.

The best: The banana sour was delicious, just perfect! And so was the local IPA from Don Guanabana. The good: Our server was very attentive and pleasant. Nice cutlery and dishware. The bad: The portions were tiny. The tinga tostadas were served on 3 nacho chips, and unfortunately, the flavour wasn't there. The octopus croquettes were better, but again, nothing too special. The worst: We spent over 600 pesos after tip, and had to go have dinner right after. I won't discourage people from going to try it. You might enjoy it more than me.
