nol hakone myojindai (Hakonemachi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Nol Hakone Myojindai exemplifies the utterly tranquil, majestically natural ethos that has made Hakone, Japan a draw for centuries. The self-contained, resort-style atmosphere is perfect to recuperate and recharge with zero outside influence — most guests make a beeline straight for their private, spring-fed onsen and the sunbathing terrace (in that order). Guestrooms feel like calming cocoons with softened, curvilinear motifs and natural wood accents throughout. Upscale options come with their own balconies and private, open-air baths." - Tablet Hotels

We had a great stay at nol Hakone. We had a really nice and spacious room with a private onsen, which we enjoyed a lot. Breakfast was freshly served every day, with locally sourced vegetables. We also had booked one Dinner which had great quality and was very tasty. There’s only on minus - the hotel is really far away from any supermarkets or restaurants, so you either have to have a car or be prepped before coming back. This was not a problem for us. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much - it was a great and calming change of scenery after spending a week in Tokyo.

Beautiful rooms with private outdoor bath. Onsen is on the small side but natural feel. Tip: go before closing or at opening to have the place to yourself. Delicious dinner with very fresh seasonal vegetables from the property’s farm but have to book ahead of time. Good buffet breakfast with a small spread. Short queue to get the food. Overall, a good experience for a 1-night stay.

My family and I had a very relaxing stay at this resort. The room was beautiful. The private as well as the public onsens were amazing. The customer service was exceptional! The breakfast provided was delicious and healthy with the ingredients coming from their garden. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast every morning. The only complaint would be how difficult it was to get around without car. That said - we did hike up and down the mountain and it was quick scenic! We would definitely return!

We were disappointed with our stay here. When we checked in, we were told we couldn’t eat dinner at the hotel unless we had booked it at least 24 hours in advance. That would’ve been fine if the location wasn’t so isolated — staff actually recommended we grab food from the convenience store instead. They also mentioned how hard it can be to get a taxi. The shuttle only runs until 4:30pm, so if you want to spend the full day out or eat dinner elsewhere, you’re on your own getting back. When we asked about dining, the staff were quite dismissive, which didn’t help. The alcohol vending machine in the refreshment bar kept pouring the wrong drinks. Staff “fixed” it but it still didn’t work properly the next day. Breakfast wasn’t great either — very limited selection and low quality. The hotel itself is well-designed and some staff were friendly, but the overall experience felt disorganised and frustrating. Between the poor food service, limited transport options, and mix of staff attitudes, we wouldn’t recommend this place unless you plan everything in advance and don’t mind roughing it for meals.

We loved this hotel. The best hot chocolate on tap ( as much as you want complimentary). Please be ware though it’s quite hard to get anywhere in this area and very hard to come by taxis/ Uber’s. Not much in the way of food also, but there is a 7/11 close by.

Phenomenal service and the room was gorgeous. One thing I would recommend for the hotel is to put up signs and reinforce quiet hours as there was a child running loudly around 11pm so we couldn’t sleep. Overall great place and convenient if you have a car.

Very disappointing hotel. Arrived to check in at the hotel after a long day traveling across Japan to be told that me and my pregnant wife would not be fed at the hotel and instead suggested we take a cab to a burger restaurant for dinner. The breakfast is also poor, not all fruit provided is fresh and orange juice is concentrate. There is only 1 dining option and the restaurant is not open for lunch. This hotel is certainly not deserving of 5 stars and a place in the Michelin guide, suggest to avoid if looking for a luxury stay and to actually be made to feel welcome.

Our stay at the nol Hakone hotel was perfect! The room are bigger than the average size in Japan and very well furnished. The spa and onsen are the cherry on the cake - you cannot end your day in a better way! We wish we would have stayed longer!
