Where to Drink Guinness in Central Florida This Holiday Season | Eater

"Nothing caps off a perfect beach day like stopping for a cold Guinness on your way out of town, right? Well, if you haven’t cooled off at Nolan’s after an afternoon on Cocoa Beach, this might sound a little strange. But as the holidays approach and you revel in the fact that you can still go to the beach in December, make a point to grab a pint at this Cocoa Beach institution. It offers all the laid-back vibes of a Florida beach bar, with a full menu of Irish classics and plenty of beer on draft." - Matthew Meltzer

Loved our time at Nolans. Super responsive and friendly staff, great food and drinks. Had a great whiskey flight. They have a large selection of whiskey as well. Saw some live music while we were there that was good too. Looks like live music happens just about 7 days a week around 6 or 7pm. Highly recommend.

Service is really slow. Chicken tender unflavoful. The atmosphere is good though. We came here twice during our stay at the Cocoa beach. When we came the first time, they didn’t have much selection for seafood, so when we came for the second time, I ordered some shrimp from Island Time and planned to eat it with the family. I ordered chef salad for myself. I was told outside food was not allowed. Very disappointing. On top of that, we were sitting by ourselves for over 10 mins without anyone come by to check on us. We had to flag down a server to put in our order. On the plus side: The onion rings were good. Beer cheese was good as well.

Google
One of the best restaurants in the Cocoa Beach area! Even if you haven't tried Irish cuisine you owe it to yourself to stop in. The food, workers, and atmosphere is great. If you're looking for a good drink 🍻 this is the place. Additionally, the pretzels were good, as well as bangers and mash, Sheppards pie, fish and chips, and the pot roast. I can't recall the waiter's name but he worked yesterday, around early afternoon and we sat near the stage. He was amazing and one of the friendliest people we've met. Additionally, I would bet this is a great place for live music.

We came for St Patrick’s day weekend and was excellent … from the moment you enter to all the service and the food … worth to come and try it …🥹🙏🏼💕

Google
Was hoping for a great meal. Excellent atmosphere!! Our non existent waitress was pretty poor at the service part. Sat down and didn’t hear from anyone for 15 minutes , then took our order and never saw her again, 35 minutes later our food came out, no silverware, no side dish for the appetizer. Finally got the silverware. Fish and chips, excellent, Shepherds pie, bland, like warm and seriously dry. Never saw the waitress after that. The bill was brought by someone else .

Google
Fair Irish pub with a nice vibe. I had the bangers and mash, my wife had the shepherds pie. My dish was very good, the shepherds pie a tad dry. For dessert I had the cheesecake and my wife had the sticky pudding and both were fantastic.

Google
First time ever trying Nolan’s after growing up in Cocoa Beach - had an order tonight with my family. They got the pot roast and I got a French dip. Extremely disappointed with the French dip… they used the same exact meat from the pot roast and threw it on the French dip sandwich. The French dip is supposed to be sliced meat… not a good first experience. Please do better Nolan’s

Kevin Johnson

Google
What a treat. Sunday evening and they had live music - nice. Great food too - had Pot Roast and a French Dip - both excellent. Service was great and they had a good selection of Irish beer. Would happily return.

Yelp
Found this place on a whim on our first night of our trip. I love a good Irish pub and this did not disappoint. Went for a Guinness and it was great, can't go wrong there. My entree was the fish and chips. I usually get the fish and chips at similar restaurants to this, so I have a pretty good gauge of what is good. This was one of the better ones I've had in memory. So tasty! The interior was so unique and a welcoming atmosphere. The service was also great. I'd love to come back!

Yelp
First & foremost, dog friendly with outdoor seating. Second & near & dear to my heart, Mich Ultra bottles for a mere $3.50! (PBC restaurants are NEVER that cheap!) Our waitress, Kaitlyn was awesome. Gave us plenty of time to enjoy the breezy early evening. We had the pretzel bites, quite good. Fish & chips was huge! And not a bite left on the plate. Half order of Shepard's pie was a tad dry but had wonderful flavor. We did walk through the restaurant & it was classic Irish Pub with a few patrons at the bar. Loved the vibe! We will definitely keep this one on our short list next time we're up this way. Slainte!

Yelp
Friendly service from bartender. Nice selection of beers. Fries & coleslaw were tasty. Fish cooked nice & crispy. Plenty of bar seating & tables. Music was enjoyable.

Christine A.

Yelp
Good pour of Guinness, lively atmosphere esp for a Tuesday. Hubby could not resist a half portion of the banger and mash.. "pretty solid banger, decent sausage and a good gravy with the mash". Says the man from Killarney

Yelp
Great Irish bar! Killer ambience. They have a lot of autographed astronauts' pictures and mission patches. The whiskey flights are a fun way to sample some interesting Irish whiskeys outside of the usual suspects. Speaking of flights, a rocket took off over at the Space Force base. It's that common that no one blinked much after a pause. Like earthquakes, for locals, in the West. Added to the experience! The food is very good, not amazing. Still, for this area, full of two stars grifting off of the cruise ship industry, at the port, it's a five star. Service was genuinely five star. The servers are young, but well trained to keep the vibe top notch. Parking is tricky but doable.

Yelp
Great! Music and food. Staff top notch ! Almost feels like you are in Ireland . I will be back

Carrie A.

Yelp
As soon as you walk in, you feel like you are in Ireland. The pub is covered with Irish themed items. The food is fantastic. The fish and chips are incredible. The service is great too. Really enjoyed our visit.

Azalee L.

Yelp
Ambience- looks, feels, music authentic Irish Service- great service , attentive and providing recommendations Food- was so good , peas and carrots plus juicy beef stew , bangers were tasty
google avatar

Yelp
great place to go except on St Patrick's Day. The local stores have a problem with you using their parking lot one day a year, so they threaten to have your car towed if you do. Ridiculous and arrogant.
google avatar

Travis I.

Yelp
Nolan's is the spot to stop for a quick pint and an amazing burger. Most of their entrees can be ordered half size--which is more than enough for the average appetite.
google avatar

Brendia T.

Yelp
Enjoyed Great Guinness beer & pineapple cider here! Nolan's burger was yum, but husband did have to ask for extra fried red cabbage to get the full effect. The onion rings were a bit sparse portion wise, but tasty. My Fish & chips were good overall but the accompaning tater sauce didn't taste home made. While eating, we listened to the live band play a few 70s Rock N Roll songs which made dinner more interesting. Nolans drinks and ambience were definitely the main attraction. Overall, despite the few things mentioned, if back in the area, we will return to try the Irish shepherds pie or beef stew which were also suggested by our server.

Sondra K.

Yelp
Mary and Shasta are Amazing!!! We have had the most wonderful service from both of these delightful ladies! The drinks are delicious and the pretzels are a must try!!! This place is as cute as a button, the decor makes you believe you're in an Irish pub far, far away. Well done crew!
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
Great meal with friends and we had delicious Irish stew! We will dine there again soon!
google avatar

Doug S.

Yelp
We love Nolan's. Never disappoints. Good Irish music, but not too loud. Great food. Shepherd's Pie on point. Get the brown gravy to go with. Nacho fries is a good choice for appetizer. Make this a stop when in Cocoa Beach!!!
google avatar

Anthony R.

Yelp
Food here is great, try the mash potatoes. Some of the best I've had from a restaurant. Fried fish was good but wanted a different type of breading. Service was great also. If you can catch JJ Smith here while he plays here it is worth the visit! He's great while singing songs but shines when he encourages audience participation. Those songs are hilarious! Will definitely go back.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
This pub was great - just what we were looking for. We got the pot roast and fish and chips, and a pint of Guinness, and thoroughly enjoyed everything. They had live music when we were there, which was nice and at the right volume so we could still converse and enjoy our meal. The decor was interesting as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Irish funerals are more lively than this place. It hits you right when you walk in, that feeling that makes you do an about face and walk right back out. This was on a Saturday night!!'
google avatar

Geronimo T.

Yelp
Got invited to this place for a work function. Seated at the booth. I can't speak for the food since I only ordered adult beverages. The liquor did not dissapoint. Ale at it's finest. As a group we were enjoying ourselves, singing with the live irish band. This place fills up pretty fast, it's best to come early for seating. I am not Irish but still had a great time! Lol. Overall, service is friendly and the ambiance was straight up Irish. I recommend.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Food was very greasy. The restaurant wasn't clean. I would choose a different place next time.
google avatar

Kimberly T.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite this afternoon. Southern chicken flatbread (buffalo sauce) with jalepeno ranch was perfect. What makes this a 5 star review was the bartender. She was awesome! So sorry that I didn't get her name, but if management reads this give her a bonus! We were there on September 27 around noon.
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Found this restaurant when searching for live music on a Saturday night. What a cute place! I will note that this is not a "hip and happening" live music place but singer was an incredible and engaging story teller that made you feel like a part of each song. Having just been to Ireland recently, we enjoyed the look and feel of the restaurant and the signs reminding us of some of our favorite memories (well favorite beers ha). We got the poutine, not irish, but super delish. I will say the gravy tasted like it was from a packet, perhaps the only downside, but it was loaded with melty cheese curds. As a main course, we split the fish n' chips - they are wonderful and allow you to sub mashed potatoes and peas and carrots for the fries. Of course the fish n chips came with mushy peas, just like in Ireland. I would love to go back and try more from the menu. There is plenty of parking around the shopping center (in front of and behind)

Yelp
Excellent food and warm, welcoming service! We had the fish and chips, onion rings and half portion Nolan's Pot Toast. All delicious!

John H.

Yelp
Literally came here for the poutine and Shepards pie my wife found looking around on yelp and was not disappointed. We split a poutine and it was phenomenal. I ended up getting the Ruben over the shepherds pie and it was amazing. The food was awesome, the staff provided excellent service and answered questions. Overall we truly had a good time here and for sure will be back. We come visit family once a year in Florida but after eating here it might have to be more often just to stop again.

Yelp
Came here just for the fish and chips for me and my wife. My plate was good, hot and fresh. The cole slaw wasn't exactly the way I like it. My wife's fish was rubbery. I think it was too thick of a piece for frying. It was close to closing time, so maybe the cook was off. Service was a little slow closing out my check. If you are in the mood to booze it up, this is the place for you. Classic Irish pub with all the authentic decor and live music. I should've just ordered a Guinness pint lol.

Yelp
We came to Nolan's Irish Pub on our vacation to Cocoa Beach simply for the namesake - my partner's name is Nolan and we thought it would be fun to try out this place. The menu displayed many types of traditional Irish food, but I opted for the pretzels and beer cheese as I don't eat any red meat (which was in nearly every item - vegetarians beware!). The pretzels and beer cheese were still delicious though. The interior of Nolan's Irish Pub was eclectic and filled with relics representing Ireland - so much fun. Our server was also very attentive, and we were able to get in and out of the restaurant pretty quickly during lunch. My only complaint is the menu variety for vegetarian friendly options. I would have loved to try a vegetarian version of many of the traditional Irish foods here, but I understand that may be difficult to do.
google avatar

Eddie K.

Yelp
The beef stew!!! Note: There is also a songwriters night on Mondays. Definitely check it out. Some really good artists come in to play.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Stopped here tonight to enjoy some food, drink, and music. On Friday nights at 730pm you can listen to Irish singing and music. We were warmly greeted and offered any available seat. Our server was friendly and happy to help with tye food and bar menus.. I ordered a whiskey and ginger to start while I listened to the music and made some food decisions. I ordered the fish and chips. It came out in a very reasonable amount if time. It came with a side of mushy peas which I enjoyed. The cod itself was a very generous portion and I found it very tasty. The chios I enjoyed with a heavy pour of malt vinegar. I will definitely be back to enjoy the food, tye drink, and the songs.
google avatar

Dora Y.

Yelp
Great food. Staffs are very friendly. I Will bring my family to visit here next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Fish was perfect. Awesome vibe and plan to return to try the pot roast. Friendly service as well.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Food was great, we had the shepherds pie, pot roast and the kids loved the Mac and cheese and fish and chips! Fantastic waitress was so good with the kids too! Louder music helped drown out the kids as well

Greg M.

Yelp
As always, Nolan's delivers. Fish & Chips, pot roast and the best Guinness in town. Always have trouble deciding what to eat, as it is all great.

Yelp
We were in Florida for a cruise and saw this place listed on Yelp. We decided to give it a try since it was pretty close to where we were staying. When we first entered the building we noticed it was much smaller than we expected and packed. I'm guessing there were about 20 tables maybe. An Irish band was playing so I'm guessing most people were there for that. At first the hostess wanted to sit us right by the door which was kinda right in a walkway and seemed an odd place for a table. I noticed a table in the back that was empty and asked if we could sit there. She seemed really hesitant and said we usually only sit a group back there and said we could sit there if we agreed to let others sit with us if needed. Seemed kinda an odd request but I agreed due to we were really hungry and without a car so going somewhere else was really not an option. I ordered the pot roast, the waitress said that was an excellent choice. I believe my husband ordered the prime rib dip. He said his was good. Mine was very good except the portion size was pretty small in my opinion, I'm glad I didn't order the half size because I would of been disappointed. Our server was not that great and pretty slow. Anytime she'd come by we barely had time to talk and ask for anything as she would run away in a hurry and we'd have to wait another 15 minutes or so before she came back around. That was really frustrating as we just wanted to eat and leave. I also sat forever without a drink and ended up asking for 2 glasses of water hoping I'd always have a drink. The place was decorated pretty cool and there was this awesome bookcase we were seated next to. Would we go back again? Maybe but definitely not on a night there was a band.

Yelp
Before the Space-X launch, I played Yelp roulette. After giving out a few highly rated Yelp choices, my buddy chose Nolan's Irish Pub. Nolan's seems like a good place to watch a game, hang out with buddies, and guzzle beer. You will find on the menu the standard Irish pub fare like Shepherd's Pie, Bangers and Mash, Burgers, Fish and Chips, Roast, Reuben, and other sandwiches. I had my eye on the Pot Roast and French Dip but the waitress informed me they were out of Roast until later in the afternoon. That put me in a bind. After her help, I went with what seemed like an unique dish, Shepherd's Fries. All the ingredients for Shepherd's Pie were there topped on the fries. I was surprised at how well the meat tasted. The meat had a beer flavor to it. I wasn't impressed with the actual fries though. A better entree would have been the Shepherd's Pie itself. No sweet tea here....booooo! I would love to eat at Nolan's again and if I get another dish, I would re-rate it. There is a lot to like here but the Shepherd's Pie is better as an appetizer than an entree.

Yelp
Finally! Fish and chips that are reminiscent of Ireland! This is hands down, our favorite Irish pub/restaurant. The Reuben wrap (you can get it as a sandwich also) was great too! We also got a side of beer cheese and it is my 2nd favorite that I've had. I will be back!

Jeri H.

Yelp
Nothing special here. Small local bar & grill. Good selection of Irish beers. Food is average bar food but adequate.

Cathy B.

Yelp
Soooo much fun, we went on a night that had an Irish band with audience participation. The food was phenomenal!! Don't sleep on this place!!
google avatar

Mike J.

Yelp
Good food, really good selection of Irish beers. Happened across ukulele night. Every Wednesday night ( except next week). What a blast. Well known songs you can song along to. Fully half the audience is also playing along on their own ukuleles. Very impressive and lots of fun.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Great food and really great pub atmosphere! We went in just to grab some food and a beer and there was live Irish music on a Saturday night! Also, gotta try the Shepard's Fries. Amazing!
google avatar

Melissa L.

Yelp
3rd time here. Live interactive music. Perfect pints! Irish Food was good, service was good. Will come back again!

Yelp
We visited Nolan's Irish Pub on a recent Thursday night. We came for the live Traditional Irish Music as well as the fine food. As soon as we arrived we were escorted to a table opposite where the performers sit. Our drinks of white wine and red wine arrived in short order by Rebecca. She gave us attentive and friendly service throughout the evening. With wine, we ordered Onion Rings, which were the best that we had ever tasted. They arrived hot and prepared perfectly with a dipping sauce. My companion chose Fish and Chips for his entree; I chose the Pub Burger. Both dish were delicious and served hot. During the live entertainment I order a Guinness, that arrived perfectly poured. Music was wonderful and the group engaged the patrons for a couple of the songs. The decor was filled with Irish related objects and beer and whiskey signs. This was our third visit for dinner and we have always been completely satisfied with the food, service and music. Prices are quite fair, too. Each night there is different entertainment. Nolan's is a family friendly establishment and the ambiance is warm and inviting.

Yelp
food quality absolutely disgusting, if you want good food and amazing music in a friendly atmosphere please go to Meg O Malleys!!

Yelp
Amazing fish and chips and lovely live music. Nolans has a very friendly staff as well.

Yelp
What a fun place! The atmosphere was wonderful and our server was very attentive. Husband had fish and chips- such good food. I enjoyed the best shepherds pie. Will definitely be back for more!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow! This was such a nice bar and good Irish theme. They had a live band which was a nice touch. The food was decent and the beer was cold and flowing. Service was decent and truly glad I stopped here on my visit to Cocoa Beach. I will make this a stop in my next visit to the area.

Amy L.

Yelp
I ordered from Nolan's Irish Pub for the first time today. I placed my order thru door dash. Food came promptly but part of my order was wrong. I ordered hog wings, onion rings and a salad. I received 6 chicken wings, onion rings and a salad. Very nice presentation for to go order. I double checked my order and I did order hog wings not chicken wings. The receipt from the restaurant had chicken wings. I really wanted to try the hog wings from Nolan's. I have ordered them at other restaurants and love them. Very disappointed, not to mention the cost difference.
google avatar

Toni S.

Yelp
My husband had a reuben sandwich with fries and the Irish cream cheesecake. He thought it was really good. I had the fish and chips and it was very tasty! We had takeout due to COVID and ordered online. Pulled up and went to get it . It was ready when we got there and my husband said all of the servers had on their masks. The tables were distanced appropriately as well. Good food that we felt was safe to enjoy during our vacation.

Denise B.

Yelp
We were looking for an Irish pub with live music. To our delight Nolan's did not disappoint. My sister had a half order of shepherds pie and I had the French dip sandwich. Both meals were delicious and reasonably priced. Our server Bex was very friendly and attentive. The Irish music was interactive and fun! We definitely enjoyed this pub and highly recommend it!

Luigi C.

Yelp
Great food, drinks and service. The night we went they had trivia night. Good time. Will be back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Came to Cocoa Beach for a few days on vacation and wish we would have come here first, but glad we ended our time at Cocoa Beach at Nolans.
