"Switzerland holds fast to its traditions — lucky for us, among those traditions is a rich, deep vein of pure modernism. Basel’s Nomad Hotel makes its home in a classic 1950s apartment block, the first ever constructed in the city, whose distinctive concrete facade has been preserved, as well as a contemporary addition, purpose-built for the hotel project. And the interiors take off from there, using the raw concrete as a backdrop for a look that’s surprisingly warm, with vibrant pops of color and clean-lined, modernist-inspired furniture by local designer This Weber." - Le Guide MICHELIN

Loved this hotel. The best nights sleep I think I’ve ever had in a hotel ! The bed was super comfy and it was quiet. Great decor, great room size, super clean and overall a great vibe. Service was excellent. Restaurant downstairs also great ! Perfect location too, walkable to everywhere. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone!

I was fairly impressed of how comfortable and stylish the hotel feels like. Service is always kind and quick. The rooms are spacious and have everything you need, plus they're nicely decorated. The breakfast buffet is perfect, highly recommended. It has multiple options and they all feel fresh, while tasty.

A really cute and convenient boutique hotel near Basel train station. Wonderful bar and restaurant and delightful and helpful front desk staff. Loved the decor, the fitness room and the funky decorations all through the hotel. Great down comforters too.. A real lovely experience.

Our stay at the Nomad in Basel is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff greeted us so friendly with great local advice on what to do in Basel. The complimentary dry bag for use during your stay meant that you get to experience swimming in the Rhine like a local. The tea and coffee station was fantastic. Gym and sauna divine. Bed so comfortable. And breakfast was great

We had the pleasure of being approached by the Nomad Team, and overall, we were very satisfied with the experience. While there was a brief, unforeseen situation that was slightly unpleasant, the team went above and beyond to resolve it quickly and professionally afterwards. Their dedication to ensuring our satisfaction was truly impressive. Highly recommend their services!

I stayed here in July ‘24. The hotel well situated, modern, clean and with all the amenities you would need for a short or extended stay. It may be on the ‘small side’ as far as hotels go, but what sets it apart is really the staff. Without exception, they are friendly, hospitable and always make their guests feel welcome. I’d readily stay here again if I’m in Basel.

Everything is 5 stars. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed. If you’re looking for modern, comfortable places to stay in the city centre - it’s the best choice. Really special urban atmosphere but also very kid friendly. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I’m really really impressed

Nice bar with a broad selection of cocktails and friendly service (I was not staying at the hotel, only visiting the bar).

Yelp
Nomad is a sure thing: great food, excellent staff, and the kind of place where you feel immediately comfortable and welcome. Think of it this way, if you opened a restaurant/bar, you'd want it to be as good as Nomad. If you're in Basel, find a reason to go to Nomad.

Yelp
My husband and I needed a stop in Switzerland for our drive back from Tuscany to Amsterdam. We settled on Basel since it was the middle point of drive. The Nomad Hotel looked like it was a good spot to hang our hats for the evening. Location: Good location. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping streets, outdoor markets and public transportation. Arrival: You see the hotel restaurant and bar first and then come across the hotel. You walk down a corridor and find a large wooden door to the hotel. Bellman: None so be prepared to carry your own luggage. Parking: They have a small tight parking lot located -2 in the building. You need a key to enter the garage. Parking is 25 CHF / night. You can reach the rooms from the lift in the parking garage. Reception/Front Desk: Very friendly and Lobby: Super cute and functional. Room: We had room 97 which was the category of "Urban Unique Double Room" because when you book with a dog you have to book a room that has concrete flooring which are the Urban Unique ones. View: N/A - there was a shade that blocked the large window we had in our room Bed: Too soft for our taste. The have a soft padding on top of the mattress. Bathroom: Separate toilet on one side of the room and shower and sink in the other side of the room. Hair dryer: Normal dryer hanging on the wall in the bathroom. Products: Aesop products - My favorite! Coffee Maker: None in the room, but they have it in the hallway. Closet: Closet with iron and small ironing board, small fridge and safe. Safe: Standard hotel safe in the closet. Control Panel: One TV remote. Minibar: None. There's a mini fridge, but nothing in it except for a cookbook - no joke - see photo. Mirrors: One mirror inside of the closet and one mirror right next to the door. Housekeeping: N/A - only stayed one night. Wifi: Good. They give you a code forbid to give devices. Dining: We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was pretty standard, but expensive. The menu is a bit odd - a bit Asian, a bit Western, a bit Middle Eastern. We ordered the burger which was messy but good and the Caesar salad was made with iceberg lettuce was drowned in the dressing. We ordered two of their local beer on draft. The total for dinner was 60 CHF. Spa/Gym/Pool: N/A - didn't use the spa or the gym. I don't believe they have a pool. Concierge: N/A - didn't have any questions. Style: Modern and hip. Service: Overall the service was good. Other: They have free coffee, tea and water at these kiosks on each floor. It's very cute and convenient. They have everything from the machines, cups, trays, coffee and tea bags, etc. I wish other hotels would do this! Dog Friendly? Yes! They don't charge you for having a pet, but they do make you book a "Urban Unique Double Room" which is a higher category than their standard rooms because it has concrete floors. Would I go back? Yes! It has everything you need for a city hotel.

Yelp
A last minute weekend gateway trip and we end up in Basel, booked Nomad hotel because of its Nordic design and convenient location which I didn't realise how close it was to everything. It was about 5 minutes walk to the Fine Arts museum, which gave generous discounts with students ID card, and it was about 5 minutes walk to city centre where tons of bars and shops, but it was closed from late Saturday afternoon. We were starving after few hours drive and decided to eat here in Nomad restaurant. Apparently, it's a bar like place where there is a stage for live band and bar tables. We end up in a corner where we could eat some food peacefully. I had lamb meatball with fresh vegetables and some fresh pomegranate cooked with hot yogurt, and starter of avocado tartar with fresh mango and some pepper. The two dishes are surprisingly good considering I don't usually give complements to non-spicy food. It's very creative to combine those ingredients together, especially pomegranate. The french fries as side dish comes in good portion and tastes good too. We didn't try any cocktails, but it should be good. One thing is to ask for English menu because everything comes in German. The Pho soup my friend tried was so so, needs more ingredients like soya. One thing I love it's the hotel room design, it's the thing I want in my room, modern and chic. If you got a chance, try the hotel sauna too.

Yelp
Perfect get away in Basel for some international atmosphere! Truely good cocktails ;) They also have different food, I tried the "Artischocken" they were phenominal.

Yelp
They make the absolutely BEST BURGER in all of Switzerland!!!!! We have lived here for years (we are American) and we have missed a proper burger- they do a great JOB! The bar is super friendly and has a mix of the hip, young and working professionals. This is worth the visit if you are anywhere near Basel.

Yelp
Fantastic pub and burger joint. Nomad burger with the fried egg, my personal favorite. Service was both very friendly and helpful. Both the bartenders and wait staff spoke English and English menus were available. The tables and chairs were a little small, so I'm not sure if would be comfortable for a full dining experience, but quick lunch or snack before/after evening festivities - perfect.

Yelp
Great facility for an all in one stop in Basel. Comfy rooms, great included breakfast and a relaxed downstairs bar and restaurant to drink away a lazy summer evening or get work done on a business trip.

Yelp
Great location in terms of ambiance, great service, disappointing food. Small dishes, so tried three of them. Chilli sin carne was decent, the nomad burger very flat, barely any sauce, not even a pickle, an unsophisticated bun, and the tandoori chicken had almost zero taste. It's a pity because the place would be a great restaurant overall if the food was good.

Yelp
I had brunch with my friends here and we love interior design. I commended to order their special menu such as English breakfast or Norway style etc... Because normal buffet is just some bread and different jams... Coffee is very nice so I'll definitely come back here for next brunch :)

Yelp
Amazing cocktails with a lot of options. The staff is very friendly, interior design is pretty cool, and the location is the reason that I gave 5 stars. It's right behind the Kunstmuseum, which is perfect to treat yourself after 4 hours of art seeing, and close to the cool side of town!
