Nomo

"A delightful restaurant in the Vila Madalena district of the city, featuring a natural plant-covered façade, a glass-fronted dining room and an open kitchen with restrained tones and a simple decor. Here, chef Nando Carneiro creates innovative cuisine with a contemporary touch and a combination of seasonal ingredients. The superb wine selection is the domain of sommelier and front-of-house manager Patrícia Werneck. The cooking at Nomo is out of the ordinary and includes combinations of high-quality ingredients and impressive flavours that come as a pleasant surprise. One of the standout dishes on offer is the braised cabbage and romaine lettuce served with a sweet contrast of muhammara, dukkah and pistachios. Another amazing option is the smoked cupim cut of meat, accompanied by creamy potato mash, toasted almonds and fried garlic." - Michelin Inspector

Our hotel concierge recommended this Bib Gourmand spot when we were scrambling for a last-minute dinner reservation on a predictably packed Saturday night. Somehow, they squeezed us in for a late seating—perfect for us. A breezy 20-minute Uber ride from our hotel in Jardim Paulista, and we were on our way. We were warmly welcomed by co-owner Patrice, who graciously let us snag the coziest corner table for four. The menu may be compact, but it’s anything but ordinary. Taking Patrice’s expert advice, we dove into a selection of sharing plates—where, to our surprise (and delight), wood-roasted vegetables and non-meat dishes stole the show - quite a rarity in meat-loving Brazil! We went all in—two main proteins, three veggie-carb combos, four desserts, and a bottle of velvety Brazilian Pinot Noir. The standouts? A smoky, melt-in-your-mouth Cupim steak (a first for us!), seared fish ceviche, creamy polenta, pão de queijo with rich liver pâté, and wine-stewed nectarines. We wrapped it all up with a beautifully spiced, fortified Cachaça. Service? Flawless. Sommelier duo Nora and Patrice worked the floor like a well-rehearsed dance, striking the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. A meal to remember—delicious, seamless, and just the right amount of indulgent.

A charming little restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and exceptional service. The staff was warm and friendly, and the server spoke excellent English, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. While the cream potatoes weren’t to my taste—slightly too gummy—the rest of the meal more than made up for it. The wine selection is small but expertly curated, perfectly complementing the menu. The attention to detail and personalized service really stood out. A wonderful dining experience overall!

Highly recommend Nomo! The food was delicious and tasty. But what I remember the most is the service of Paty (the co-owner and the manager) and her team. She is sharp, kind, know whats a five star service. She recommended great wines. I bought also a sparkling wine made in Brazil to bring back in Canada. Thank you Paty !!

We loved our dinner at NOMO The Cupim defumado, octopus and quiabos na brasa were amazing. The bottle of Pinot noir /gamay will kill any doubts about the prospect of finding great wine in Brazil. Yes this is a Brazilian wine. We will be back

Our first meal when we landed in Brazil and one of the best during our entire trip. The service was caring, perfectly attentive, and in English! We enjoyed every bite of the beautiful and creative menu. The cupim was probably our favorite, but every dish was great. Just a wonderful night.
