"Nestled in the heart of Ghent's Patershol neighbourhood, Nonam has an authentic and cosy ambience with a touch of vintage charm. After stretching out in one of the luxurious guestrooms, pop into the the restaurant, where the set menu presents a playful take on fusion cuisine. The chef transforms his grandmother's rice pudding recipe, for instance, with exciting textures of apricot and a koji-based ice cream. Or he boldly combines beetroot, blue cheese and umeboshi. The selection of fine wines, by the bottle and by the glass, has plenty of gems in store." - Michelin Inspector

Small bistro in a boutique hotel decorated in a modern black and white theme. When we were there it was well visited, but not full. We chose the 4-course-menu. I found the start to be okay. The amuse-bouche was solid, but not exciting and the 1st two courses were rather bland. However the meal improved considerably as it went on through main course and especially the dessert and petit-fours were excellent. There was a good choice of open wines; however the selection of beers was surprisingly limited for a Belgian restaurant. Service was friendly, supportive and relatively fast. It was fascinating to see the chef preparing all the meals on his own – with support from time to time by 2 others – in his small open kitchen, a hell of an organisation. Value for money was very good, I would come again. A recommendation.

There are few restaurants you give a 10/10. This restaurant was above 10! Service impeccable. Super friendly, helpful and there to ensure we had a great evening. Food was out of this world! Unbelievable! The entire experience of six dishes was above average in every way. Perfect for our first wedding anniversary. If you come to Gent, go to Nonam!

Very unhygienic hotel room full of dust. Clearly not cleaned for weeks. Not worth the high price you pay for the room. ‘Nespresso coffee corner’ is without Nespresso and breakfast is with Aldi yoghurt, cornflakes and fruit juice. Ridiculous for the price you pay per night

Stumbled on this place. I'm a lovely area, amazing food, drink and service. We had the 4 course tasting menu, this is absolutely recommended.

The hotel is significantly overpriced for the quality and experience it delivers. The photos on the website are highly misleading, presenting a level of design and comfort that doesn’t exist in reality. Our room was poorly designed, featuring an open toilet with no door, broken bathroom fixtures, malfunctioning lighting, and low ceiling beams that made it impossible to walk upright in parts of the room. For the price, it was disappointing that even basic amenities like a small refrigerator were missing, especially in a suite. Additionally, the service was nonexistent, making the stay feel far from what you’d expect at this price point. Overall, the hotel offers poor value and is not worth the cost.

This is a review of the restaurant only: Note that this is a LONG dinner. Got seated at 7:45pm and didn’t leave until 11:45. Wait times between the courses were outrageously long. Food started off strong and then fell off by the third course and ended with a very poorly executed dessert. Feels like the chef just hasn’t figured out the details that really create a good fine dining experience.

Amazing service at the restaurant! Staff here is down to earth instead of stiff, which I appreciate if there is good knowledge backing it up. And there was. Whenever we asked questions the waiters went above and beyond in answering. So really well done to staff! 5* Food wise it was more than good. The first dish, a hamachi (fish), was by far our favorite because of its creativity, bold flavors, crazy pairings, perfect balance in structures ... it had it all. The other dishes were good. They were well executed (minor hick-up with the pheasant, but not as bad as some critical neighbors made it out to believe) and presented beautifully. And another surprise came with our coffee/tea, which is the desserts, which were again amazing. Especially the macarons! I was super thrilled about the juice pairing, which was spot on, except for the carrot-passion fruit that didn't fully matched the dish, but the skilled people of Nonam managed to make me enjoy beetroot in a drink and that's a tough nut to crack. So thanks everyone for a lovely evening!
