"There are coneys, and then there’s Noni’s. Like most, it has an extensive menu but this neighborhood meeting spot is most popular among the breakfast crowd who go for the omelets or pecan pancakes. Lunch favorites include spinach pie, Noni’s homemade chicken pot pie, liver and onions, and the meatloaf dinner." - Amber Ogden

The food was so fresh and the portions were huge. This is my second time coming to this location and the customer service was great each time. My daughter didn’t like the butter on her pancakes and Ms. Michelle quickly took her order back and fixed it. I would definitely recommend Noni Grille for a quick togo order as well as to comfortably dine.

My cousin and I visit this restaurant for the first time and I must say that the food was delicious, I had Shrimp Alfredo and it had plenty of shrimp in it pasta was cooked right, creamy Alfredo sauce was so good , the service is excellent, waitress was so kind and friendly which is rare nowadays, tables, floor & windows was clean; this is definitely gonna be one of my go to restaurants.

Google
My dine-in experience was average. My over medium eggs were over cooked. I did not request new one so I do not know whether they would have gotten it correctly. My to-go order was not fully correct. Everything else tasted good.. Sparkle was friendly. The nice and clean environment was very inviting. I would eat here again, so of course it was not bad.

Google
They didn't serve me at all. After my campaign meeting and it was 7p.m and the dining area was closed. I heard good things about there food but I didn't get to experience it.

Google
The manager at the front was very pleasant. The menu definitely needs to be updated. I ordered a salad that said romaine, mixed greens and iceberg. I received all iceberg which is not what the menu said. I called to let them know and thry said iceberg is the only lettuce they have. I recommended they update the menu. Since iceberg lettuce takes like dirty water in my opinion. I let someone have it. I don't recommend the salads.

I'll start by saying the atmosphere is very comfortable. I felt like I was home and our server, sparkle, treated us just like that. Although this is just the neighborhood diner, the food here is fantastic and a lot of it is freshly made me and my friends love the homemade ranch and recently discovered their homemade lemonade which was amazing. It's a great lunch spot and a positive, peaceful place to be. I'm looking forward to coming back again!

Google
The food proportions are really good. I didn't really like the chicken alfredo; this sauce wasn't good to me and bland. However, they gave a really good amount of chicken, and I heard many people like the sauce. The pancakes are the best pancakes I had in the state of Michigan. Their well-known salad had a ton of chicken, and I heard it tasted really good. The staff was amazing. They were one of the nicest staff I encountered in Detroit. One warning: the parking lot is very small, so you might have to walk a while during popular hours.

Yelp
This is a great place for breakfast. Clean, bright. Corn beef hash is homemade. Coffee is good. This type of restaurant, diner, Coney Island are common in Detroit area. If you're in the area this one is worth the visit.

Yelp
I have to admit that I love love love having breakfast at a good decent diner. I've been getting lunch take out from Noni's. Well I finally decided to dine-in for breakfast with S. We both ordered omelets, the Noni's for her and Farmer for me. They were the size of newborn babies. And just as adorable. Delicious. We both had to quit mid-way and get to-go boxes for the leftovers. I will definitely have to do this again. As for the ambiance, this is a great neighborhood-y place to meet up with family or your neighbors.

Yelp
i've been here once before with my cousins. now i'm here alone with few distractions. there are 4 other tables occupied so it's not too busy. they brought me a coffee cup with lipstick on it. i hope it's all uphill from here. stay tuned...

Yelp
This place is rarely open anymore, alsothe waitresses attitude suck. I would recommend one of the other neighborhood, Coney Island's restaurants like Nicky D's, or L Georges

Yelp
When you travel out of town try something different. This is a nice small town restaurantI that has a good menu with a great staff. Our waitress checked on us often answered any questions that we had. For breakfast I ordered the Italian sausage. It came with 2 large pieces of sausage, eggs, hash browns and toast. There is no reason to leave here hungry with all the choices available for you. Restaurant has booths and table seating with a separate area for take out only. Prices are reasonable, service was great, food was delicious. It would be nice if other chain restaurants take a page from these small town establishments.

Yelp
Let begin by saying overall I enjoyed they food and the service. I have been wanting to try this place for several years because it is in my neighborhood. I just never stopped in. Today was the day. I was out and about with my 6 year old daughter and my mother-in-love. We went in around 11am for breakfast. The parking lot was small but we had no problem getting in and grabbing a space. When we entered it was not clear what we were supposed to do so we asked the young lady behind us if she knew if we had to wait to be seated. She walked around us and advised that we seat ourselves. There were plenty of tables available but only one booth in the corner. As my party of 3 headed to the booth the young woman's little girl slid into the booth. As I turn to scope out tables my 5 ft nothing monster-in-law says in her 7 ft tall voice "so you are just going to let her get in front of us and steal our table?" Before I could completely sink into how mortified I was,the young lady told her 4 year old looking daughter "come on baby" then says we could have the booth. The little girl says in voice that only comes from a heart broken child "but I really want to sit there." I had already told Mother Maxwell that it was not an issue. She disregards me and proceeds to occupy the booth with my kid. I felt so ashamed. Who forces a baby to give up their coveted seat? God stepped in at that moment. I heard someone call my name. I looked over and in the very next booth was my coworker. She was by herself. I quicky shouted my family is sitting with you. I told the little girl and her mom to take the booth we would be sitting with my friend. Everyone was happy. Although I could not believe my husband's mother the food was really good and affordable. I ordered an omelette with spinach, mushrooms, bacon and swiss. It had way to much spinach. It was still good. My mother in love order liver and opinions (ewww). She said it was really good. You will have to take her word for it. My daughter had a Mickey Mouse pancake with bacon. She said it was amazing. She 6 why would she lie? The coffee was wonderful and came straight from the coffee heavens above. I have no idea what it was because I forgot to get the name. The waitress said, as she was pouring it, that they grind the beans every morning. The staff was very polite and attentive. I truly enjoyed this place and will be returning regularly.

Yelp
With this place being only a few blocks away from my house its onenof my go to places in a pinch. The reason for 3 stars is although the food is good, the wait time is anything but. I can take a nap, do my taxes, and write a manual on fixing german engines (idk crap about cars) before my food gets done or my check comes to the table. If youre not calling in your order, forget about it.

Yelp
You have Coney Islands and then you have Noni's. When you go to a Coney Island you expect for them to have just about everything. Well Noni's has all that plus some. They have everything from the basic Coney Island hot dog to liver and onions, if that's your thing. The takeout side of the restaurant is separated from dine-in by glass windows. The seating area is a pretty good size, offering both tables and booths. The decor is pleasant enough. On this particular day our group ordered an omelet, a mushroom burger, a grilled cheese sandwich and their special fries. The special fries are basically chili fries with the addition of ground beef on top. Everything came out in a very timely manner. The service was very pleasant. There were no complaints around the table. That was until about halfway through her burger, my mother saw something. It was a long hair! Ewwww! A quick way to ruin a good time. The waitress came took the food, quickly resolved the issue although we decided just to have it removed from the bill, instead of replaced. I mean no one was hungry after that. Until this experience everything was just dandy. It left me a little shook. I'll probably go back and inspect the food greatly, but everyone is due one mistake.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE. The waiter was talkng a long time to give out our food. My food was very greasy becauase it was deep fried, and the plate was covered in oil. Also my mom, and her friend had a sandwich from there, and they got sick after they left.

William S.

Yelp
Some family members and I chose this establishment for a brunch the other day. The service was A-1. The food was what you might expect at a local diner. It was certainly nothing special, but it was decent and edible. None of our party had any complaints. I would go here again. It's not a top notch spot, but I don't believe it's trying to be. Our food came as ordered, in a reasonable amount of time and we were all happy.

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 3 and a half stars, but since I can't, I'll throw them the full 4. The food here is great! I've really never had a bad meal, but the chicken caeser salad is absolutely my favorite. And, really, all their salads are amazingly good. Burgers, corned beef sandwiches, etc. Haven' tried anything I'd really disliked. Also, the employees are all usually very friendly and really try to get to know their regulars. So on to the negatives. Service can be on the slower side during lunch time so I recommend calling ahead if you're going to do take out. (Though sometimes calling ahead doesn't seem to matter.) Sometimes they have trouble with the credit card machine and will only take cash, forcing you to make an impromptu run to an ATM if you're unprepared. And lastly, they tend to make some careless mistakes during busy times like giving you the wrong salad dressing, etc. Just make sure you check your order before you leave. All in all, the food is good and the people are friendly. The odd bad day does get annoying, but for the most part, I love getting lunch here.

Yelp
Its okay they've changed the bacon to without rind about 7 months ago. Why a big deal to use your credit card I don't know. Loud on weekends.

Lexis Z.

Yelp
I ordered a Cobb salad off of door dash from here. First off there was no egg on my salad or cucumbers. Just lettuce and cheese. Additionally, there was a large plastic item in my salad that cut my tongue. I called Nonis to get reimbursed. The manager asked me to go out of my way to bring the plastic piece to her. After seeing the plastic piece, the manager reimbursed me for half of the salad because "half was eaten" and not the entire thing. She then told me i don't care that you cut your tongue go to the emergency room and check it out. I will never return to this place again.

Yelp
Over the years I have come here with my wife for breakfast every few months when we are shopping at a nearby produce market. Consistently well-prepared breakfast and lunch are. This morning some old friends and I decided to get together breakfast and wanted to take them somewhere they hadn't eaten at, so we came to Noni's. Walked in and found out that the heat was out and it was a bit frosty inside. Hot, strong coffee helped us get over that issue and we had excellent breakfast of pecan pancakes and turkey sausage for me, pancakes and bacon for one friend and french toast and bacon for the other. We had a great breakfast conversation catching up with what we were up to. Nice atmosphere, good food, and top-notch, friendly service. We will be back soon.

Yelp
I have visited after the remodel. I passed here often, but didn't pay it any attention because it was just another coney island. However after going with a friend for lunch, I like it. The decor is warm and welcoming. I ordered a Michigan Salad that came with fresh fruit and diced up, moist chicken breasts. I enjoyed the raspberry vinaigrette dressing the most. It was creamy and added flavor to the salad. A full entree salad and 2 sides (or a pop) will run you about $12 with tax. It wasn't a bad price for a meal. On another occasion I've had the Philly Cheese steak Pita and that is the best thing so far. It was loaded to the brim with tender steak and diced peppers. The cheese melted on top completed the sandwich and it was enough meat to feed two people. I was full and happy after that sandwich. I also tried the lemon chicken rice which was not a repeat for me. It was lemony, full of perfectly cooked rice and had bits of chicken in it. I just personally learned that I don't care for chicken lemon rice soup. Overall I would go back to Noni's Sherwood Grill. If you go for carry out check out the wall of the history and giving to the community. It was a pretty interesting read.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday with my children asked for a booth the waitress flat out said, no. Without explaination. So other than that the tables were sticky, my 14 year old complained the pancakes tasted like they were raw and the bacon comes with that hard rind on it. Other than that, the food was good and the wait time was less time than kuzzos, or American bistro would've taken, and priced reasonable.

Nara G.

Yelp
Pros: The restaurant is nice & clean. I have not had any problems with staff. The food is very good. I highly recommend the fries! This is a good place to get together with family & friends. Cons: This place gets packed often & they don't have the biggest parking lot. I've found it easier to park on the street.

J P.

Yelp
Service and food are consistent. I've been here at least 6 times and the food is served hot and quickly. Very affordable and the staff is personable. I'll definitely be back.

Ms D.

Yelp
Ate breakfast with my daughter this Sunday morning and the breakfast was mediocre at best. Smallest pancakes I've ever seen any Coney serve. Bacon was cooked to my liking. But after my meal, I was still hungry. Usually I can't finish my pancakes, that just confirmed that their pancakes were for babies.. Definitely will not be returning here, even though it's less than 4 blocks away. If you're planning on going here, go to kuzzos down the street instead!!

Nadia S.

Yelp
Best service!!! My husband and I ate here and they were so friendly and the food was bomb! Thank you!

Fred B.

Yelp
I had the Noni combo corned beef and coleslaw sandwich... Absolutely awful cheap lunch meat from grocery store. Waitress was weak and forgetful.

Tanya M.

Yelp
My food was delicious. It was quite a long wait...but it was Saturday morning so that may explain it. We came for breakfast and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. Were it not for the long wait (after we ordered), I would have given the restaurant 4/5 stars!

C J.

Yelp
Great classic Coney Island. Don't come in expecting fantastic meals, it's a regular mom and pop restaurant with friendly staff. Sometimes they have off days so I give them a 4

Darice L.

Yelp
Not too classy. I should've stuck to my first mind and went to Kuzzos with my toddler for a Sunday breakfast. I ordered a spinach and feta omelet with hash browns, and the silver dollar pancakes. My food was out and less than 5 minutes. I'm a stickler about my hash browns;these were the frozen kind and still cold in some spot. My omelet had hardly any feta or egg but tons of frozen spinach. I told my waitress if the cooks wouldnt be mad that I would like to exchange for something else,so I got the veggie omelet. Although my next batch of food was hotter it was still of low quality. You really do get what you pay for. Oh and can't forget the cussing going around in a 'family establishment ' No, I don't want my child to learn the S word.

Martina M.

Yelp
The service was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was exceptionally good. Will be making this a regular stop when I'm in the area. Can't wait to try their banana pancakes!

Eliza B.

Yelp
Friendly service. Food is good. One of my go to coney islands when in Detroit. They're open late as well. Nice location. They're breakfast omelette are delicious and their grilled chicken salads are the best!

Rando G.

Yelp
Took my Sis, who is VERY critical on restaurant food quality & service, for brunch last Sunday before church let out. We both had omelettes with a pecan pancake (had to!), & everything was exceptional!! Our server was attentive & we weren't hurried when patrons quickly swelled to capacity with the after church crowd. We talked for another 1/2hr over tea about everything...Had a great time!

Jazzy J R.

Yelp
I left after waiting for a menu about 15 minutes even though the waitress made eye contact with me but continued to speak with some long lost friends. I got up and left but not before letting someone at the carry out window know what happened and which employee it was.....I'm straight on nonis

Jimmie J.

Yelp
Noni's is a nice tucked off gem placed upon a vast amount of stores to visit before or after you enjoy their wonderfully made dishes. The Noni Special is a must have sandwich. And the staff is just amazing.

Dod C.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast and lunch, and was pleasantly surprised. The waitress was nice and, courteous. Although the place was busy on both occasions, the service was prompt, outstanding and the food was delicious and inexpensive.

Cha Cha J.

Yelp
I have been going here for about 3 years, and I like it. I do notice a difference between the renovated restaurant and the Sherwood Coney Island that it used to be called. It looks better, and some of the dishes are better, and some have declined. The prices are higher than when it was just Sherwood Coney, but it is because the facilities are better and plus some of the dishes are, too, so that is what you are paying for. There are some new dishes, too. Over all, I think it is a decent place to eat. The service is ok to me.

K. B.

Yelp
I've passed by this place, countless times, and today was my first time eating here. I'd actually planned on going to my usual breakfast spot, but, on a whim, decided to eat here instead. I'm glad I did. They greet you as you come through the door, and before you can even get your coat off, they're asking you what you'd like to drink besides water. The service is fast! I had the #3 Big Man Breakfast; featuring 3 eggs (any style) with a slice of ham, bacon, sausage, and a choice of either hash browns or grits; I went with the hash browns, and a cup of coffee, to go with it. As said, the service is fast, the servers are friendly, the food is good, and they don't let your coffee get cold. What more can I say; I wish I hadn't waited so long to check this place out; and I will be back. As others have said, the parking lot is kinda small, but that's not enough of a reason for me to drop their rating to 4 stars. The place is cozy, the servers are friendly, and the food is good.

Sterling H.

Yelp
I ordered the strip steak dinner and the spinach pie dinner. The "medium" steak was dry, overcooked, tougher than leather. They forgot the rice that came with the spinach pie. When I went back to complain, they gave some rice with spaghetti sauce on it, not the red sauce that the Greek restaurants top the rice with. The salad and dressing was not good, with cheap no-brand ranch. Once I ordered a loose burger and it had a bad taste, like way too much cumin and anise. I wouldn't go back unless I was desperate for a Coney in the middle of the night. Too bad, another Detroit restaurant with inferior food quality in comparison to the suburbs.

Cheri M.

Yelp
I have now been to this place on 4 different occasions. I have only ordered breakfast, so that is what this review is. I was there at varying times ranging from 10am to 1pm. My issue is not with the food, cuz when it's right, it's very good. You can tell the eggs are real, the sausage is cooked to perfection, and the waffle has a good flavor. My issue is with the service. I have experienced 3 different servers, and with the exception of one (light skin, short hair) the service is no good. It took too long to take our order, then after the order was taken, it took so long to get our food, it was room temp at best. The waffle was done to perfection, but wasn't able to melt the butter so i sent it back. It took a while to get that one, and when i did, it was a bit overdone and still not hot. Once you get your food, pray you don't need anythings else, cuz you won't see the server again until time to give you your bill.

Chez D.

Yelp
Today is the last time I will go to this restaurant. The problem that I have is that every time I go it takes them too long to service my order. My wife and I stopped off this morning to order breakfast for carry out. It took them about 30 mins to receive a order of pancakes with bacon and hash browns and a order of scrambled eggs and cheese, bacon, hash browns, and toast. 5 people got their order before us, even the cashier had apologized for the wait. Unfortunately, this was not the first time I was waiting. About 3 weeks prior I waited 10 mins for the cashier to stop and count money before asking for my order and then after I finally got my food I asked for some Ranch and did not receive it. And I had looked 3 people in their face and not one asked me did I need something. I have always been a loyal customer even when this place was called sherwood forest coney island. Then it had better customer service and the prices weren't as expensive.

Eddie O.

Yelp
Never will i eat here again The cashier who took my order was extremely rude !!! the place itself is nice and clean but the workers don't have good customer service they look at you like your crazy you might get curse out so if you want to go out with your family and eat and have fun and be at peace and not argue with the staff just go down the street anywhere but here!!!
