I'm going to start off with saying that this place was misleading in regards to Denver Restaurant Week, and probably shouldn't be a part of it. When you look up the restaurant on the Denver Restaurant Week site, it reflects that it is $35/pp, but in reality, when you get to the restaurant, it is $70/couple. This is quite misleading. Other places I've gone within the restaurant week have offered the meals as a per person situation, i.e. one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert for each person. Nonna's did not offer it that way. It was one appetizer per couple, each person ordering his/her own entree, then one dessert per couple.
With that said, the food was good, but definitely overpriced for what was served. For the shared appetizer, we ordered the stuffed mushrooms. Be aware that they do not describe what is in the mushrooms (some sort of meat situation). They were good, but definitely a surprise as to what was going to be inside. Next up, I had the veal parmesan. It was good, but a little underwhelming. The best way to describe it is that it wasn't bad, and when you're hungry, it is fine. Would I write home about it? No. The saving grace of the evening was the Tiramisu. They definitely know their way around a lady finger. I was impressed with the flavor.
Overall, coming for Denver Restaurant Week was probably not the best introduction to this restaurant.
