Nonna's Place

Cozy family-run Italian sandwich joint. Check the times to make sure they're open before you go, they're only open during the daytime and only a few days a week. Famous for their veal parm and chicken parm sandwich (add some hot peppers if you're brave), they also have L'originale with veal, greens and balsamic. Be prepared to wait a bit, the sandwiches are made to order.

I love this place so much!! Their eggplant parmasen is the best I've ever had, and it's partly because their tomato sauce is off the charts amazing. (The best in Toronto). The family/staff is super nice - and you can taste the love in the food. FYI, the hours aren't always consistent in my experience and they sometimes run out of items, but when you make food this good, and when you are as nice as the people who run this restaurant, you get all the leeway you want, imho.

By far the best veal sandwiches in the whole city, the portions are out of control. The family who runs it are always friendly and that just seals the deal. You know a place is good when it's only open Mon-Fri from 10am-430pm and still does well. I'm now hungry just thinking about the sandwiches.

Been coming here since i was a kid, the owners mom used to always make me the best salami sandwich. And now her daughter makes me the salami sandwich hahaha! Love this place sooooooooooo much! And the staff are absolutely friendly! Veal, pasta, and every sandwich in there taste AMAZING!!!

Wow. If you like Hot Italian sandwiches, DROP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO TO NONNA'S! Perfect amount of sauce, onions of perfection, and the hot sauce has got a bit of bite, but more than that, its flavourful! Delicious. Oh, and ginormous, you might want to bring a friend to help you eat these gorgeous beasts. Sorry I've waited so long to drop in, but I now have a new lunch destination!

I usually get their chicken breast sandwich. Their pasta with meat sauce is really good as well. They recently added arancini which is amazing. It's reasonably priced for what you get. The owners are always really friendly.

I prefer Nonna's sandwiches to California. Their sauce is just as good if not better, their bread fresh (unlike a few recent visits to Cal and had day old buns) and served quickly and great prices. They are family owned and so friendly.

Was driving by and saw the sign - decided to eat here. Freshly made veal sandwich. Delicious. They do take out but there are a few tables. No washrooms. Great for a quick bite.
