Restaurant Industry Groups Pressure Cuomo to Extend 10 p.m. Curfew Ahead of Super Bowl - Eater NY

"Regional Chinese noodle spot Noodle Edition in Midtown — showcasing items like tingly pork noodles from Chengdu and beef offal noodles from Xinjiang — is a “deeply satisfying” stop for a quick bite, Gothamist restaurant critic Scott Lynch writes." - Erika Adams

A Running List of New Restaurants That Opened in New York City, January 2021 - Eater NY

"Regional Chinese fare is among the latest cuisines to appear in a fast-casual format. One of its newest sources is Noodle Edition, a Chinese noodle restaurant from owners Yishu He, a partner at popular dry pot restaurant MáLà Project, and Yuchun Cheung, a former chef at the recently closed China Blue. Noodles made with tingly pork and beef offal are available from the new restaurant, as are stir-fried udon and other dishes from Shanghai, a nod to the duo’s first restaurant, acclaimed Shanghainese restaurant Little Alley in Murray Hill. noodle edition is a relatively new chinese fast casual restaurant in the heart of midtown. the space was spacious, modern, and clean and the staff was friendly and welcoming noodle dishes were filling and the salty egg fried wings were to die for. bone broth soup was also superb. for a quick snack on the go we went with the lamb burger, which had a perfect balance of bread to meat ratio. we got both the beef offal and minced pork noodles which were satisfying. come check this place out and support local new york businesses!

Google
It’s nice to find places in Midtown where one can get a great bowl of noodles. Noodle Edition is a fast casual restaurant that specializes in noodles dishes with a kick. The menu isn’t large but perfect for satisfying your noodle cravings. The outside of the restaurant is really non-descript and I think I must have walked by it a few times before I finally noticed it. Inside is sleek and modern. They are a counter service restaurant, so you order your food and bring to your table. There’s a self-service kiosk you can order from or at the windowed counter. We got the Tingly Pork Noodles, Beef Offal Noodles, Crispy Pork Cutlet, Spicy Garlic Chicken Wings and Wonton Soup. Both noodle dishes had so much flavor. The noodles had a nice chewy texture and bounce. The spice level for the Tingly Pork Noodles was mild (IMO) and the pork to noodle ration was perfect. The Beef Offal Noodles had pieces of tendon, shank and stomach which were all very tender and delicious. The homemade chili oil accentuated all of the meat nicely. The Spciy Garlic Chicken Wings also had a mild kick. The pieces were very tender and juicy. The Crispy Pork Cutlet portion wise was huge especially considering this was an appetizer. We were glad to have ordered it as it was nice to have something crunchy to eat with the noodles. And finally, the wonton soup…the wontons were delicate, and the broth was light. This was nice way to end the meal. Whenever I’m in this neighborhood, I tend to go looking for fast casual places to eat so I’m glad to have Noodle Edition as another option in my roster of places to go to. Highly recommend checking them out.

Google
This was my first time at Noodle Edition. The inside is really nice and chill to enjoy your noodles. I ordered the General Tso’s noodles. They tasted great and the noodles were flavorful which is unusual for a lot of noodle places. I only have one complaint. I waited too long for just 1 order when there was only a person ahead of me. Great new noodle spot for me for sure!

Google
I had the wonderful opportunity to try a few things off of the menu at this great new spot. To start, the space is great for a quick bite to eat and is conveniently near a lot of people’s offices. You order on a screen so it’s perfect for anyone who doesn’t love a ton of interaction. They have a great selection of noodles, small plates, and simple soups. My boyfriend and I tried the noodles with the chicken, the Dan Dan noodles, bone broth, potstickers, and beef burger. The potstickers were definitely my favorite, cooked perfectly with a good crispy bottom. The noodles were each flavorful and great portion sized. The burger was unique and had a good Szechuan flavor to it. The bone broth portion was great and it also had a great flavor. To drink we had a lychee sanzo seltzer. If I had to make a recommendation, I would recommend having a water station for customers so they don’t have to purchase a drink. I also wouldn’t be surprised if, down the line, one screen to order is not enough. Looking forward to grabbing lunch or dinner here again in the future!

Google
Excellent food. I'm loving all the new Asian fast casual places reforming the sad desk lunch. When you are commuting to work again and are crammed into a subway, you'll at least be happy you have this to look forward to for lunch.

Google
the food was really good, the location is nice and very central, if u like noodles i can really recommend it 👍🏼

Google
had the spicy minced pork noodles. good flavor, wish it was more numbing but that’s a personal preference. clean, self service, nice interior decor.

Great place and the workers were very nice. Very convenient because the materials are placed out in case you need to grab extras along with lids

Yelp
A good solid place to get a bite of yummy delicious northwest Chinese food in midtown. Fast food style you order at the counter or at a machine. They don't and tips which is nice. The descriptions of the items could be a bit more detailed. Still lots of delicious looking options. Got one of the beef options with hand strung noodles. Great use of Szechuan peppercorns and the noodles had good mouthfeel. The meat had flavor and wasn't stringy. Overall, good by my non Chinese standards. The highlight is the non-tip and good prices. The meal isn't going to be the best Chinese you've ever had but it's darn affordable and that's hard to find in midtown. Only ate half of my meal and had another half left over for lunch the next day. For $14, I'm satisfied. Now the decor is dystopia cafeteria but I did takeout so it didn't bother me. Staff were efficient and moderately friendly by New York standards. All in all a happy and full camper which gets this place a five star - again for the value proposition more than the absolute best taste.

Yelp
It's a fast Chinese food chain, well known for spicy hand pulled noodles and hamburgers of northwest China. Great location and great food at affordable prices. The food was pretty authentic, I liked the choices of different levels of spiciness. We enjoyed all the food we ordered.

Yelp
When we arrived at the restaurant (around 4:30) there weren't many people ordering, but more people arrived later in our meal. I imagine it's fairly busy. The prices are pretty cheap for food, probably some of the cheapest Chinese food on this side of NYC. The competitive wages here means that there isn't any tax either, but employees still get paid :) The service is very unique for this place. There are no servers, and nobody cleans the tables either; you have to do it all yourself. I don't think it's a big deal because you're saving so much on the lack of tips already. My order: cold liang pi and hawthorn juice Juice The lack of service also means no free water refills. They sell juice and water at the restaurant, or you can bring your own water. I really enjoyed the homemade hawthorn juice, It's a very unique flavor. Liang pi The noodles are spicy, cold, and tasty. I feel like there's only that one chili flavor for liang pi, so there's not much that can go wrong. Conclusion Super easy to grab and go and really tasty. The lack of tilling makes it even more affordable, and I really love the hawthorn juice! So far, this is my favorite Chinese spot in New York City.

Yelp
I was really disappointed with my visit to xian's famous food The restrooms were filthy, with poop on the toilet seat, and there was no hand soap despite a sign requiring staff to wash their hands. It's clear that hygiene is not a priority here. The food was mediocre at best--dumplings had a thick, chewy skin, though the noodles were decent. Overall, a disappointing experience
google avatar

Sara A.

Yelp
A hidden gem. Not so hidden in the fact that it's so busy tho! I think it's a spot locals love. Don't be deterred and be busy but still quick. I loved everything I ordered especially the lamb noodle, lamb dumpling, spicy cucumbers. I got it less spicy and didn't think it was too spicy at all. If you want more of a kick def get a higher spice level. Not a lot of seating but people move through and there is a stand up counter you can use as well. Don't be alarmed if you see a lot of people. Many are waiting on to go orders.

Yelp
Spicy & Tingly Beef Muscle Hand-Ripped Noodles in Soup... AKA Beef Noodle Soup. It's my comfort dish, the dish I eat when I'm sad or when it's raining. Lately, it's also become a dish I eat when I need to feel something. Xi'an Famous Foods is my go-to spot for beef noodle soup because of the thick noodles and the spice. The service is quick, and it's a casual place that's perfect for eating alone. At this location, it felt like there were less options on the menu. Maybe it's been a while, or this location was just out of certain ingredients. It was pretty busy for a weekday night, but there are several tables and there is also a long communal standing table. There's also a restroom, but you need to ask for the code.

Yelp
This is the Midtown West branch of the mini chain of Xian noodle joints popular in NYC. While there is some seating, it is primarily a takeout joint. My experience was very mixed. Service was friendly and efficient, albeit no-nonsense. The sour lamb dumplings were outstanding: very filling and beautifully spiced balls of tasty lamb filling inside thin wrappers. They are immersed and a complex savory and tart mixture of spices with chili, cilantro, and vinegar all very flavor forward. I would order these again in a heartbeat. Sadly, the cold skin noodles were a big disappointment. They were sticky, clumpy, and lacked the vivid range of flavors of the dumplings. I was so disappointed that I tossed them before thought to take a picture. Also, for a basic takeout joint, prices are high, but I suppose that comes with the territory in NYC.

Yelp
Xi'an is one of the city's best noodle shops, and their concept outclasses other restaurants'. The famously thick hand-pulled noodles are the highlights of Xi'an. The spicy and tingly beef muscle hand-ripped noodles were extremely flavorful, and with an added drizzle of vinegar, the dish is an explosion of taste; it is a spicy food lover's dream. It is safe to say that every dish is exceptional and dependent on each person's preference. I also ordered the stewed pork burger to try, but it was dry and lackluster. I can't rave enough about the chewiness and thickness of the noodles, and the sauce was just too good. I was in noodle heaven!

Yelp
So happy Xi'an Famous Foods reopened their Midtown location after COVID! Love me some lamb cumin noodles! They're made fresh, have a nice kick, and are so filling, but can get messy so don't eat it wearing white lol! The quality and flavor are just as amazing as I remembered. If you're craving authentic Xi'an cuisine, this is the place to be. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
So happy that this location reopened. The spicy lamb noodles here are one of my favorites. I keep coming here enough that I'm slowly getting accustomed to the higher levels of spiciness. Seating inside is very limited, but opens up quickly as most people are in and out just for a quick bite.
google avatar

Thomson X.

Yelp
Xi'an famous foods is definitely a spot that is much more food focused than anything else. Therefore I would not go in expecting a full restaurant experience. Other than that, the food here is good and has a pretty authentic taste. The noodles are chewy and good but can be overly long and tough to handle. If you are looking for some more authentic Chinese Xi'an style fast food, then this is the spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Xi'An Famous Foods has always been one of my favorite treat meals when I'm at work. The food is full of flavor and the heat (for normal level) isn't overbearing if you're a fan of spicy foods. I'm a huge fan of all of their hand ripped noodles and their two burgers. My only complaint is that recently it seems like the lamb has been a bit more gristly and tough as compared to the past. As with all other locations I've been to, this location features an open, windowed kitchen that you can look into and watch all of the action. There are registers in the front as well as two kiosks from which you can order. They have some tables and stools in the back, but seating is limited, and it fills up quickly during lunch time.
google avatar

Yelp
I loveeee biang biang noodles and when I decided to come to NYC, this was the first stop I had to make. I honestly wish I had the appetite to try multiple things off their menu but opted to go for just the spicy cumin lamb noodles. I ordered and got my food very quickly. The noodles were the perfect texture but overall the flavor was a little salty for my liking. Portion size was generous. I'd come back to try their other dishes!
google avatar

David A.

Yelp
No trip to New York is complete without a visit to my wife's favorite hand pulled noodle shop. Lamb Cumin for her and Spicy Pork for me. A fitting farewell to our NY culinary adventure!
google avatar

Cody C.

Yelp
Inconsistent as far as spice level. I've had the stir-fried liang pi at a regular spice level before and it was great. This time it was WAY too spicy, even though I ordered it at the same spice level. For all the stink the restaurant makes about 'make sure to get your food spicy!' you'd think the spice level wouldn't be so random. I'm more than willing to play ball, and I'm not afraid of a little spice, but at least make the spice level on the dish consistent. Otherwise I would want to just get 'no spice' so that I know what I'm getting. Also, the dining area is very dirty, and a homeless person was allowed to beg for money in the indoor dining area while I was eating, going up close to each and every patron and begging.

Yelp
Delicious. Got N1(lamb) and N2 (beef) in mild spice. It was perfect for my mouth that cannot handle much spiciness. Person who took our order was super nice and gave great recommendations to what he thought was popular and delicious. Place was bright but small. It had about 7 tables that fit like 4 people each? And no one was there to clean the tables after each party left but it wasn't a problem when I was there. Would come again to try other things on the menu!
google avatar

Christine Z.

Yelp
My first time trying Xi'an and now it's a must-visit for me whenever I'm in New York! We came for a weekday lunch so it wasn't too busy, and I appreciated being able to order at a kiosk so I could take my time looking through menu photos and deciding. There's an area where you can wait for your order and watch them handpull their noodles. SPICY CUMIN LAMB NOODLES: Figured this is probably their classic dish so I ended up going with this one. Looks a lot spicier than it is but you can also always add more chili oil if you want. The perfect balance of cumin flavor, and the noodles were super chewy and delicious. I feel like I'd want to try something else on their menu next time but I can't imagine missing out on ordering this! Very reasonably priced too for NYC standards. Limited seating but since we came for weekday lunch, it wasn't too bad. I can see there being no seating available during dinner and on weekends though.

David S.

Yelp
Heard about this place from Instagram reels, and had to try it after a friend said he's ordered their meal kits online before. Ordered the Spicy & and Tingly Beef Muscle Hand-Ripped Noodles and really enjoyed it! The beef was very tender, the scallions added a nice texture, and overall it was the perfect spice level for me.
google avatar

Alisa F.

Yelp
We came in shortly before closing and there was no line. The food came out quickly. The spicy cumin lamb noodles were so flavorful and the noodles were thick and chewy. The strewed pork burger was also good. My only complaint is that the noodles were very greasy from the chili oil, so definitely a heavier meal.
google avatar

Ed L.

Yelp
Simple Chinese noodles and dumplings place with big flavors! We ordered the lamb dumplings in chili oil and Xi'an noodles with stewed pork. The noodles were cooked with just the right amount of chew; and we loved the lamb filling of the dumplings which were also very filling. The place is clean and bright. Customers order with kiosks and orders are called out when ready. Very efficient system that is adopted by many new eateries nowadays. Will visit again when in NYC again.

Yelp
- not much in terms of seats - the lamb and noodles was fantastic - teas were good - fast turnover - cool sointrack - friendly service - noodles can get oily and sploshy - regular lamb noodles had just right amount of spice - one dish lead to perfect satiation although my friend could not finish hers

Yelp
I visited this Xi'an because it was the most convenient and the city has been blazing hot. Taking the MTA or walking further wasn't what I was looking to do! So I went to this location on the way to a Seth Meyers taping. In comparison to the location in Flushing and Chinatown, it pales in comparison. Employees were nice but the portion appeared a bit smaller and my 'extra spicy' N1 wasn't that spicy and I was underwhelmed...Look, I know they have condiments out but I want what I got at the Chinatown location, which this was not. It still beats most of the offerings where I live in central New York (Syracuse) but next time I'll try to visit another location for a meal I'll be dreaming about for months to come.
google avatar

Tram N.

Yelp
There are some sitting in the back. A very very very interesting place. Unlike other dumpling where it was thin and soft in each bite this dumpling is thickening and chewy, almost taste the flourly (?) with each bite. I liked the noodle much more than the dumpling, it was in similar texture but make much more sense. The cashier is very friendly though!
google avatar

Lena T.

Yelp
I've always been wanting to try Xi'an famous foods ever since I saw the mention from Anthony Bourdain. I'm a huge noodle fan and I love me some wide noodles, I've even watched videos from them of how to make the baing baing noodles. Well when I finally made my way to NYC, you know I had to try this place. The first one was down near Chinatown and the 2nd time was here. The texture of the noodles was fine, but the flavor of the sauce that went with the noodles itself was missing a little bit of depth. This time around I was by myself so I decided to try the Qi pork. It was good but nothing amazing. Overall it's decently priced, worth a try, I would recommend the lamb if you're indecisive. Otherwise, sadly I don't think i'll be back as nothing significant stands out.
google avatar

Jasmine Y.

Yelp
It hurts to give Xi'an Famous Foods anything less than 5 stars. I've been to a location in flushing previously and was blown away from the quality and left a 5 star review. I've recently visited this midtown location, and the noodles were wayyyy thinner. I even went here again the next day, and the same noodles were served. The picture I attached shows the size of the noodles that were consistent throughout the bowl. I miss the wider, thicker noodles. Sauce was delicious as always. I really hope they didn't change the shape and size of the noodles!
google avatar

Andy C.

Yelp
Jason is right, I keep coming back. After a few more lamb burgers I went for the lamb noodles again. Flavors were sorted out this time with proper doses of chili oil and sauce. Names are now called out with the orders over speakers now, so that's another upgrade, though I've started entering my phone at the end of the ordering process at the kiosk to get the order number just in case. All I can say is, my last noodle order has less meat (most scraps too) so if nothing else the variability is uncomfortable. It's definitely better if you come earlier. I'm back yet again for lamb burgers. Was going to leave this last update unposted but after watching them plate lamb noodles and then getting my latest burger today, I have two conclusions: you should come early to beat the lunch rush to get proper servings, and the burger is still a better option for meat to carb ratios. My burger was stuffed and the noodles plates were generously portioned. Too random. You never know what you're getting. I had a coworker order 2 lamb burgers at the same time. One was full of meat and another was filled with scraps. Fortunately at 7 bucks it's not exactly a huge risk but again it's just uncomfortable.
google avatar

Julie Ying X.

Yelp
I came here with a friend for dinner since I was in the Bryant Park area. My friend ordered the spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodles and I ordered the spicy cumin lamb burger. I also got a hawberry tea drink since Xi'an Famous Foods makes their own drinks now. The noodles were a bit too thick and wide. There also wasn't that much lamb. I feel like the noodles used to be thinner and there used to have more lamb meat. I'm not a burger person but I do like the lamb burger here. It's spicy, has a strong cumin flavor, and the handmade flatbread was toasted. I love hawberry since I was kid especially the hawberry flakes snack since it's sweet and sour. Their hawberry tea was not too sweet but not sour at all so probably would not get his again.

Yelp
This location reopened a few months ago after shutting down, my guess is either COVID as they shut a handful of their shops, or for renovation. Whatever the reason was, glad to see them back up and running. They even had a grand reopening celebration, which I got major FOMO as they were giving out free food and even legit gold coins! I came here during my lunch break during a time all of my colleagues were doing their own thing. The wait is a bit long, about 15 minutes? I got their N4, Stewed Pork Hand-Ripped Noodles, extra spicy. I need to remind myself to tuck a napkin under my dress shirt because these oil will splash all over the place slurping these delicious noodles. It's a classic staple to grab lunch with locations opened throughout NYC. They're well known for their hand pulled noodles, can't go wrong with any selections. Definitely get it at least spicy as not spicy will not give it justice.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Great place! Fairly affordable food for good portions. Noodles were delicious and super filling. Would defff go here again!

Liz M.

Yelp
Just overall great, affordable Chinese noodles. I would 100% recommend. I ate a slightly less spicy version of this dish and still found it had great flavor.
google avatar

Stephen C.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with XFF, which remains one of my favorite Chinese food chains in the city. I was pleasantly surprised to see this location pop back up on the map, which is quite convenient for a weekday work lunch or a weekend quick bite. The only thing I've struggled with a bit is the consistency of the handcrafted noodles across the various XFF locations. Some are quite good but some...not as good. That being said, the Liang Pi really hit the spot on a hot summer day, and the Stewed Pork Burger is a must-get classic! Service was quite speedy and the ambiance was modern and refined, with a few shared tables to dine-in at the back.
google avatar

Karina P.

Yelp
I thought this place was rather overhyped, but maybe because we got the wrong thing. We ordered the spicy lamb noodles, which were definitely spicy but not super flavorful. The noodles were quite satisfying though. Good to stop at if you're in the area, but not worth going out of the way.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
First visit here. Totally recommend this for anyone looking to have a great new taste. The story behind the family is really cool watch the videos. Our dish Spicy Lamb Hand ripped noodles had great flavor and not too much spice. As the signs and menu say just order the regular spice and you will not be disappointed! I liked the dumplings but my wife did not care for the thick dough. She is used to thin dough dumplings. Staff was very friendly and the place was bright and clean. We visited the Midtown Manhattan location: 60 W 45th St New York, NY 10036. Go enjoy!
google avatar

Martha K.

Yelp
I've been at this place before and I decided to try again for lunch. I really love their noodles because the consistency is very doughy and chewy. The pork is also not dry and well seasoned with the sauce. The chili oil adds a little kick to it and you can share your spice level, so that it is perfect to your palette. There were a lot of people in the restaurant, so it was difficult to find seating at the beginning. The ambiance is very nice with good lighting and friendly staff who gave us recommendations. I will be back to try their other items because everything sounded really good! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
google avatar

Jason Y.

Yelp
Food comes out relatively quick. Good for a quick bite or snack when on the go or have nothing planned. The dumplings were good, the flavor is a bit overpowering, but if that's what you like then you'd enjoy it. The noodles and noodle soup have generous portions and the lamb isn't over seasoned.
google avatar

Masumi T.

Yelp
I've been to several locations but recently only this one since it's near the office. The 3 times I've been here, the food is consistent and comes out semi-quickly. My favorite is the Liang Pi noodles which are served cold with gluten, bean sprouts and a vinegar sauce. It's a refreshing dish - especially now that it's so hot. After trying both A1 and A2 (stir fried) I prefer the A1 but both are good. In my experience ordering the lamb burger from different locations, has been hit or miss. However this last time I got it, it was delicious and would definitely order again.
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
The hand-ripped noodles and burgers are good! You can control the spice level. To me, the normal amount still has a kick but it's manageable. The service is quick and it's clean. A great place to grab a quick bite or get takeout for lunch!
google avatar

Richard Y.

Yelp
While in town, I had to try the lamb and cumin noodles (the dish that wowed A Bourdain) on the recommendation of a friend. This is one of the best noodle dishes I've ever eaten! The broad noodles had the perfect texture and oh the flavors-- cumin and other spices made this a flavor experience like no other. The lamb was cut thin and was super tender too garnished with green onions and complemented by nice cabbage pieces. The sauce has a lot of oil so have that tide pen ready. I also had the spinach dumplings and enjoyed the delicate wrapper and soft veggie mix middle. It's a utilitarian wood and stainless steel eating so def low frills, but the great food more than makes up for it.
google avatar

Dayo E.

Yelp
Very clean store. Very quick service. Great if you beat the lunch time rush. Although I don't think there's much of that here anymore. I think the days of the hype are over but it is still a very solid meal option. The healthier places around midtown definitely get more action but the food is solid and filling.
google avatar

Nibuz E.

Yelp
If you haven't been here, you're missing out on a staple! Xi'ans noodles arw phenomenal, affordable, casual, and just hits the spot! Looking for some delicious food packed with great texture and flavor? Look no further! Always met with a friendly staff and chill atmosphere (usually a TV showing the noodle making process) and slowly making way across the menu! Remember, get some spice and don't sleep on the dumplings!
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
I enjoyed the spicy cumin beef hand pulled noodles. The noodles are chewy and have the perfect texture. I recommend getting less oil if you don't want it too spicy! They don't serve water so you have to get a bottled tea because it's spicy, but i liked the chrysanthemum tea option. Service is fast and you share the table with others as it is casual dining.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
I come to nyc once every few years and always make sure I visit this spot. I live in the home town of Asian food mecca in California but this place is always on par if not better in many respects to those restaurants. Their noodles are just so fresh and tasty, despite not being cut. I had forgotten about that last fact and so sharing with anyone else made me look quite "not sexy" trying to pull the noodles apart. Worth trying if you are in the area.
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
All of these picky four and three star reviews are crazy! Maybe I'm late to board the hype train, but Xi'an is one of the most interesting, delicious lunches you can find in midtown. The hand-pulled noodles are a true delicacy. The dumplings are also very good.
google avatar

Sofia L.

Yelp
came for their grand opening in midtown on 2/28/24 and was impressed by how quick they were serving everyone. restaurant and workers were clearly organized enough to handle such a large amount of people so early in the morning. loved the layout, so much space for indoor seating and even had tables to stand while eating. I ordered the mt. qi pork noodles, mild. absolutely blown away by how chewy these noodles were. the pork belly was perfectly cooked and paired so well with the cabbage. glad i chose mild bc these were still pretty spicy and flavorful. i've never had hand pulled noodles before, so I'm glad I got to try for free during the opening! would definitely get again or try the other dishes, these bowls are PACKED for $11-$13 each.

Yelp
Hadn't been here since way before the pandemic. I think it's been about a decade, lol! The decor was definitely different last I went there. Since, they have added self-order kiosks at the front of the place. The place looks modern, you can see the kitchen and it's got seating at the back of the establishment. Waited longer than I had expected. They said it was because they were making a fresh batch of dumplings. So, keep that in mind should you want to swing by and "quickly" pick up some dumplings. I did travel ~10 mins. before I sat down to eat. The Spicy and Sour Pork dumplings were swinging in hot oil. They were still a bit crispy. They were not very spicy IMO (I ordered "normal Spicy"). I thought the overall experience with the dumplings was "Mmm... OK". I enjoyed the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles much more. I felt the consistency of their noodles was very nice. The taste was quite enjoyable. The combo of lamb flavor and cumin just works (for me). Also, the noodles were also not very spicy (also ordered as "normal spicy").

Yelp
All the Xi'an places including the Flushing original are great! Most options very hot, so classic. But even the few non-hots are authentic and good. The lamb on muffin sandwich is one of the best cheap food options in the city. Take-out mostly, quick service, not fancy, just what you'd expect. A keeper, for many years now.

Yelp
BE AWARE THAT THEY DO ACCEPT CREDIT CARD BUT NOT AMERICAN EXPRESS!!! I happened to try their spicy beef noodle and cold noodle and oh man!!! The noodles were dancing in my mouth!! Kudos to noodles!! I've tried many hand pulled noodle places but didn't get much impression until this place! It is chewy and YOU CAN TELL THIS IS HAND PULLED NOODLE!! I tried spicy level 2&3. I would say if you can't do spicy 2 will be enough. 3 could be too spicy for you. It is also self-serving and very much like street food vibe inside so you can sit wherever and leave whenever. It is a trendy hip place with pretty good price! Definitely recommend

Yelp
Restaurant (kitchen and eating areas) is dirty, staff are unfriendly, and the food is mediocre. I also got sick shortly after eating this food. Decide for yourself whether the food I have photographed looks safe or remotely appetizing. I wouldn't.

Yelp
Each time I visit I tell myself to choose something new on the menu. While i have tried a couple different things, the N1 Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles is my go-to. The consistency of the flavor and freshness is always impressive. Amazing that such a simple dish can pack so much flavor in each bite!
