10 of San Gabriel Valley’s Finest Noodle Bowls, Mapped | Eater LA

"At first glance, Noodle World’s jack-of-all-noodles schtick might seem like a safe play to the favorites, strictly utilitarian in its ability to quell lunch rushes from nearby businesses. And yes, their formula of juxtaposing spaghetti with pho is a winning proposition, if their multiple stateside locations are any indication. With that said, don’t scoff at their Thai food offerings — the kuaytiaw, or Thai boat noodles, in particular, arrive steaming and fragrant with the scent of star anise. Noodle World is uncompromising in their attention to the detail; tripe is julienned into bite-sized ribbons and pork blood is not in short supply in this authentic bowl of home cooked goodness that’s sure to make Thai natives wax nostalgic." - Euno Lee

The previous times I've been here, my stomach got upset from the food. But this last time around, they were not bad! When asked for the chili, they even gave some green sauce, which helped with one of the soup noodles.

Google
Affordable noodles and generous portions. Efficient service. Lots of choices on the menu with noodle dishes from all over Asia. Their food is relatively inexpensive so it is also just average in taste.

The Chinese bbq pork and wonton noodles was average. Pad see ew and chicken satay tasted good.

I’ve been coming to Noodle Planet Alhambra since the year 2000, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots for casual Asian fusion comfort food. The quality, flavors, and portions have always been consistent, and the menu has something for everyone — from their famous pad Thai to sizzling rice plates and boba drinks. The staff is friendly, service is quick, and the vibe is always lively. After all these years, it still feels like a go-to neighborhood gem. Highly recommend!

I have been a long-time supporter of this noodle world ever since I moved to Alhambra 8 years ago. I always ordered through them during covid and I've been a regular. The prices have gone up, which I understand is due to inflation, but the quality has kept declining to the point that the lunch I ordered today 3.17.25 was the last. I ordered the Pad See Ew and asked for it to be spicy. They did not make it spicy, which I can live with because I have my own stash of Thai chilli flakes. But the most upsetting part is that they substituted regular brocolli instead of Chinese Brocolli without telling me when I ordered. I got home and called them and the lady asked me if it was a man that took my order, then proceeded to scold him while I was on hold for more than 5 minutes and finally give up and hung up. Pathetic. Goodbye Noodle World.

I have been eating here for so long and it's one of my best restaurants. The food is good, big portion with very reasonable price. I wish they could remodel the interior, it's a bit old and dirty. However, I would continue to eat here because of good food.

Google
Food tasted great, the soups were a perfect temperature. The service was great as well, friendly and quick. I wish my seafood soup had more seafood and less noodles. The Mango with sticky rice had a sprinkle of salt, which was delicious.

Ordered special tried rice, fried chicken, and a Thai tea for me. Fried rice was fine. Fried chicken was dry. Thai Tea was fine. A check was dropped off while I started eating; the restaurant was almost empty- maybe 4 other tables were occupied. I had to go use the restroom while my fried rice was 2/3 eaten, 3 pieces of fried remaining, and thao tea was empty. Came back to a cleared out and cleaned out table. Told the staff that I was not done eating and that they acknowledged that there were uneaten chicken and fried rice on the table. They offered 1 Thai tea, but I was too disappointed and upset to accept.

Yelp
2025.03 5pm Rainy Tuesday, party of 2 Is it weird to have two Bob's Big Boy statues? Yes. Is it oddly picturesque and cozy to have red white and blue bottle lights over the booths while the rain falls off the awnings by the giant windows? Yes. Plenty of parking, friendly service. Ordered Noodle World Tom Yum and Hong Kong Boat Noodles. I used to frequent NW back in my street running days before I left the the city then the state. Got some deep nostalgia feels and decided to check in after 25 years. Hashtag damnimOld I was not reassured by some of the reviews but so far I'm enjoying myself. Might be the rain, might be the oldies - currently Bob Marley. Food is decent, traffic flow is steady, demographic diverse with a good amount of Asian clientele.

Yelp
GREAT SERVICE, CLEAN, AND FAST! I work in the area, and I just had to try this soup place that I've heard so much about. Customer service: 5/5 I love that this place is clean, and the women are so nice. They are extremely busy! Like, orders on top of orders type of busy. So I cut it short, and ordered as soon as I stepped in and glanced at the menu. My food took about 10- 13 mins? Cost: 4/5 I think it was pretty decent for the area. I payed $23.00/24.00 for a soup and edamame. I feel like other places charge a bit more per item. Food: 3.5/5. I got the #14, and I did not like the undon soup at all. My edamme was good, but it is kind of hard to mess that up. The undon soup was the real reason I went, and ahhh it was maybe missing...something. The broth itself wasn't the best. The pork may have been the worst part of the meal, it tasted very...off? The smell was also off putting. I am used to my miso based spicy undon (I may have gotten spoiled) because the one I received just tasted so odd and I didn't like it. Too watered down? The fish cake was not edible. All around: 3.5 / 5. Would I go back? Maybe, maybe not. Do I suggest it? 100%, yes! I think I will try a few other things.

Yelp
I used to frequent this place decades ago during my college years. At that time, this was one of the best places for my friends & I to get a grub on if it was a bit late at night. We knew we'd have yummy food for a decent price. I'm glad to see that it's still true today. The portion is big and yes, the price is decent. The taste of the food, in my humble opinion, isn't the same anymore or maybe I just came on a busy Sunday night around dinner time. We ordered the Mint Leaf Chicken, which was good and came with a huge portion of rice! The Chicken satay was ok. The House Wonton was big but came with too much green onions. The broth was a bit too salty and oily for my taste. I have to say that the service was wonderful! We asked for to-go containers and one of the dishes that we couldn't finish was the chicken satay that came with 2 sauces. Our waitress brought us the lids for both of them before we even needed to ask for them. She checked on us several times too. If you're looking for food with big portion and best bang for your bucks, this might be the place for you. I notice a lot of people were picking up their orders for to-go.

Yelp
Wow, what can I say about Noodle World? I've been coming to this location for years. I must say the atmosphere to dine in is not what it used to be. Now they don't even provide chili/sauce trays. Everything is packed for to go orders to in to go containers. I usually order for take out and once in the blue moon, I'd dine in. I came after lunch hours so the restaurant was not busy. I ordered Pineapple Fried Rice and Thai Pan Fried Noodles. In the past I usually ordered Hainan Fried Chicken, Mint Leaf Chicken, Spicy Spaghetti and Noodle World Tom Yum. Extensive menu but not everything is delicious. The noodle soups lately have been pretty bland. I do feel that food here used to be delicious but has been going down hill lately. Still a nostalgic option for locals, I guess.

Yelp
DO NOT EAT HERE unless you want a stomachache/indigestion/food poisoning! My friend & I ate here & we both got sick even having different meals

Yelp
I haven't been to this place since college, (early 2000's), but I'm glad to see this place has survived through tough times like the pandemic. It makes me happy to see small businesses like this still open and operating. The food is still good as I remember it. And the classic Big Boy statue is still the main feature in their dining room. Just a nod to the building history and previous business. I ended up ordering the Shoyu Ramen. It was delicious and packed with flavor. It had a decent amount of pork, and pieces of fish cake. When my dish came, I asked the waitress for some chili paste. She acknowledged my request, but was in the process of serving other guests. She became so busy as the dining room began to fill, so simply forgot about my request. Only when she came to collect my empty bowl, that she remembered. She was so apologetic and truly authentic, I didn't make it a big deal. Truly understandable, I was watching her as she was in charge of several tables, and multi tasking. I felt empathetic for the server, I didn't want to ask her a second time. She's already doing her best, and she wasn't stopping for breaks. She truly is a hard worker. I could forgo making my ramen "spicy" for one meal. Regardless, this is still a great place to eat. This won't deter me and I will still come back to this place.

Yelp
This is a reliable spot with a "something for everyone" robust menu and good portions, with FMV (fair market value) pricing. I'm not sure if Noodle Planet and Noodle World are the same ownership but they're both similar and I like their menus. It's the spot to go to that's reliable and open late.
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I came in on a Sunday night and surprisingly got seated right away. There are plenty of tables and our server was nice. Parking behind was full but there were plenty of spots on the street. We got the Thai Boat Noodles and Hainan Fried Chicken. All their dishes are shareable!! I was able to take it home and ate it for lunch the next day. I liked the Hainan Chicken more than the boat noodles, but if you want something more for warming your insides it would be the boat noodles. I just REALLY liked the sauce the Hainan chicken came with.

Yelp
This review is simply off of the to-go orders we recently got. My wife's family use to frequent here a lot when they lived closer, so they've always talked about it. They go here quite often with the whole family since its so spacious and is a good spot for a lot of people to share items. For my mother in law's birthday, we got a few dishes and I just felt like some of the dishes were quite bland. The beef salad was good as usual but some of the noodle dishes didn't really have any flavor to it. I've been wanting to go in person since its been a while so hopefully my experience & the flavor will be better next time we go in.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a minute. The place has gone DOWN, way DOWN. The food was very bad. House Noodle soup- tasted like $1 cup noodles. Chicken curry, bad and bland, Tom Yum, bad, Mango Sticky rice not edible, the mangos were hard and green. Ugh. The floors, tables, walls were so unkept. Sticky and oily at the same time. The bathroom was filthy. sink doesnt work. What happened to this place How are they still open???

Yelp
This is a 2.5 rounded up. Too bad we can't be more exact while reviewing. I recall coming here over a decade ago and it was a lively restaurant, and the food was much better. I've been back no more than a handful of times since then and the most recent visit gave me a different perspective. We walked in and stood by the counter waiting to be seated, and even though there were many staff members walking around, no one made eye contact or even acknowledged us. After a short while, a man with no smiles whatsoever seated us in the direct path of the wind from an industrial fan, so it felt like we were outside during winter. No one came by so we just got up and found another table. A short while later, a lady took our order. People there don't seem very friendly or even happy to be there. Plus, one thing I dislike about some restaurants is when the bill comes, they hand you a POS device, swipe your card and stand there staring while it's time to calculate the tip. That's as tacky as it gets. At least pretend you're busy and walk away. Don't worry, we're not the type to dine and dash. The food: Overall, decent. Because they seem to be Jack of all trades, they're master of none. Over the years, we've tried Chinese, Thai, fried, soupy noodles. They were all decent and edible, but not one stood out for us to crave. There were no condiments on our table so we couldn't even adjust the flavors. Asking for to go boxes, I had to get up, look for someone and ask for it. I used to think of this as a place for comfort food. But this past experience gave me anything but comfort. So I think I'll just pass on this for a while and seek out the many other SGV restaurants that offer great noodle dishes.

Yelp
Noodle world is something of been eating since the 90's and for more and less at least they are consistently good. The servers here are super loyal and have been working in this chain for the last 20 years. I come here for Seafood Pho, Charbroiled Pork, Beef Steak, egg rolls and Tom yum. Charbroiled Pork is unparalleled greatness to any other pork I've ever tried. They are literally #1 as I cannot point to another location that even comes close. If you need to get something try this first. Egg rolls are a staple and dipped with fish sauce is Asian comfort food at its best. Over the years I've tried everything on the menu but it's the same favorites that keep me coming back. Highly recommend this place as an inexpensive comfort food location that serves well as a place you can go 4 times a week.

Yelp
Should have said they close at 9:45 if they don't accept orders at 9:45. Really. Should have said they close at 9:45 if they don't accept orders at 9:45.

Yelp
This is a popular place for lunch or dinner. They are "quick" to serve you when you enter to dine in or take-out. They also have delivery service on their website. They have you covered, there is something for everyone. The menu includes beef, chicken, pork, seafood, veggie or tofu dishes. Their motto is "slurpin' good!" A few highlights from the menu: APPETIZERS - Chicken Wings, Edamame, Egg Rolls, Seaweed Salad. ENTREE - Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese soups, Wok Pan Fried Noodles. Rice dishes with Pork Chops, Chicken Curry, Catfish, Spare Ribs, and Shrimp Fried Rice. SOUPS - Ramen, Udon, and Pho, and "noodleless" soups too. I didn't see Mango Sticky Rice on the menu, but believe me, they have it and it's good! It's sweet, tasty and has a crunchy topping that I really liked. One serving was enough for two people $9. There are three locations in the San Gabriel Valley: Alhambra, San Marino, and Monterey Park. Bring the family and friends. Most important, don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

Yelp
We've been to Noodle World for many years but didn't come here quite a while. It was getting worse. We were very disappointed this time! We arrived at the Noodle World around 1 pm on last Sunday. It had many people inside but we were seated immediately. Many people were waiting for the orders. However, there were only 2 servers for all the tables. We waited about 15 minutes and finally got the server's attention to order the food and drinks. We did not have any utensils after we ordered our food. Finally, all the food came and they gave us utensils but we were still waiting for our drinks. Service was not acceptable here because they were understaffed. We ordered chicken skewers, pad see you, seaweed salad, house noodles. The Chicken meat (chicken skewers and house noodles) were so dry and chewy and they tasted frozen and had no flavor. Pad See You was okay but the pork meat was also not tender. The portion sizes were big and they were cheap but the meat quality was not good. Disappointed.

Yelp
Casual dining. Been coming here for 20 years and not much has changed. Still same solid good food with large portions. Food arrived fairly quickly. The charbroiled pork was very flavorful and tender. A tad bit on the salty side. Beef steak is also very flavorful and tender. Perfectly seasoned. Hong Kong pan fried is delicious. Nice amount of beef and veggies to noodle ratio. Some of the veggie stems were still undercooked though. Came about 2 pm on a Sunday, so the wait was only about 5-10 mins. even with a full house. Service is good.

Yelp
It's been years since I've been to Noodle world in Alhambra. I used to live here and didn't really care for this place until I moved back to the OC. My bestie and I came here after our hike. I was craving the spicy spaghetti with beef and so was she but would seafood we got fried tofu taste exactly as I remembered when I used to come here back in the day, the restaurant is a bit dated but the food was just as good and flavorful. Our waitress was very thorough and helpful. Our food came out within 10 minutes. They have huge portions as you can see. I barely made a dent in mine but was happy to take it home. If you're ever in the area, you should definitely come by. The food is very good, and never disappoints. They have a huge variety of options to choose from. It definitely was nostalgic for me to be back here eating with my bestie like we used to back in our 20's, young and staying out past 9pm. Lol

Yelp
Ate here for the first time with family and MAN the portions here are huge! Everything is is fresh, tasty, and pretty much shareable for the whole group. I found out there are other locations closer to me, so we may visit again, but I do think this is a spot I'd only go to if we had large groups.

Yelp

The menu is extensive, offering dishes from different countries such as Thailand, Japan, Vietnam, and China. This means you can enjoy everything from Pad Thai and Pho to Ramen and Chow Mein all in one place. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, making it a great place for both quick meals and relaxed dining experiences. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that you have a pleasant visit every time. One of the standout features of Noodle World is the portion sizes. Yelp
I love me a decent Thai Boat, it doesn't even have to be a great Thai Boat, I'm perfectly happy with an average Thai Boat, and generally, I can count on places like Noodle World / Noodle Planet to fulfill that craving. The place I used to get Thai Boats from, is now a hot pot place. So this place is an old hang out of mine, that I used to get noodle dishes from, but MAN has the quality DROPPED. Tom Yum Noodle (1/5) My fiancee got a Tom Yum Noodle, but, the soup was kind of funky, it wasn't really sour, but kind of alkaline, and then a bit of sourness, almost the sourness you get from things spoiling and not the fresh sourness of lemons / limes. The most sour thing of the dish, was actually the pork in the soup, which is weird, because the soup wasn't really that shower, but the meat was much more sour. Was very off for me. Thai Boat (2/5) Imagine a Thai Boat, not sure what spices that goes into it, maybe star anise being one of them, maybe some pepper, maybe some cinnamon, and maybe any other 18 spices of KFC, who knows? Now imagine this be devoid of all that. I'm not even sure what it was that I was tasting. It was like a colored pho broth without meat flavor? That might be the best way to describe this? This is probably the worst Thai Boat I've ever tasted in my life. It tasted like I messed up in life. It tasted of harshness and regrets, and self-hate. It took some effort to get through this dish, and frankly, this experience has convinced me to move on from this place forever, and find a place that can probably satisfy my Thai Boat craving. It's like going to a sushi place, only to eat boiled fish. It's just OFF. My heart breaks, because I recall a few fond memories of places like these, but maybe they did something to piss off their chef, or maybe something else happened, but if you can't make it taste GOOD, it shouldn't even be served. I help this place cleans up it's act, because it's nice to see things from my youth to continue to exist. I'm not sure I'd be back here any time soon though, so good luck to them.

Yelp
Dined in on 10/12/24 for dinner. Service was quick. The server helped our big group order the dishes and the dishes came out fast. The place has a lot of room to seat big parties and it wasn't busy. You can still see the old Bob's Big Boy statue. I ordered the seafood spicy spaghetti. It still tastes the same from many years ago back when I used to come here a lot in high school. The only thing that really changed is the price. It is pricer now, but glad the taste is still the same.
google avatar

Yelp
Great comfort food whether dine in or take out. Been coming here for years, you can't really go wrong with any type of soup or noodles or rice. They pretty much have everything under the sun you could think of in terms of Asian cuisine. Quality and quantity are good. The prices have gone up in recent years, but that's understandable. However, one thing that has been consistent has been the taste. My favorites are Pad See-Ew with beef, spicy spaghetti and Thia BBQ chicken, Tom Yum soup noodle, and Pad Thia.

Yelp
Returning to NW after having not visited for a long time, it is still a great place to eat in the SGV. The lot is still big, but in need of repair. Most of the servers are pretty nice, a few were not on our last visit. Many of their boba shop type drinks are good to very good. They typically have at least one large group or are crowded when we visit and so are pretty loud. Our favorite dish is still the garlic noodle with chicken. Second best is the spicy fried rice. The chow fun noodle with chicken is good with Chinese hot chili oil/sauce added. The fried chicken wings are Uber fried and somewhat dried out on this visit. The spicy sauce helped the spicy wings and the sweet sauce helped the regular wings. The seaweed salad appetizer has a ton of sauce on it and so is a very wet salad. It was also quite salty and might go better to complement another dish than on its own. Overall still a five star experience. The menu is big with lots of choices so give them a try. Just not any veggie dishes or vegetarian dishes, only some veggies in noodle dishes--that's why we got the seaweed salad--only veggie type dish.

Yelp
Noodle world has always been a fam favorite! The food has not disappointed us! The service is a hit or miss but most of the time the staff is attentive & friendly. The ambiance is super chill. If you're in the neighborhood & wanted to try it, I'd recommend the spicy spaghetti, the wonton noodle soup, & the Thai boat!
google avatar

Yelp
The place used to be a Bob's Big Boy and it shows. The restaurant's interior hasn't been updated in some time and it shows. The table I got was a bit sticky and getting the staff's attention took time. To be fair, I came in at 2:30 PM on a Sunday and they were a bit short staff. But I will say the food was amazing and the Tom Yum I got was extreme creamy and delicious. Maybe I came at a weird time but the food was great. And I'll probably come again since they have a very wide selection of noodles. I definitely will say that this place has a wide variety of noodles and is more noodle jack of all trades than master but the decor and staff leave much to be desired.

Yelp
For health reasons please avoid eating at this restaurant. They have multiple violations related to food safety. I used to frequent this restaurant more than a decade ago, and at the time this place was still decent, but in recent years I've come to find that they've been struggling financially and have tried to cheat their ways in order to maintain their profit. Prices have gone up, which I'm not surprised because of inflation everywhere. But what I found disturbing is that in my recent visit to this restaurant they served me rotten beef and vegetables. I ordered Beef Steak to go, but as soon as I got home and opened the box, there was a weird stench coming from my food. I took a bite of my beef and immediately spat it out. Without saying anything I gave a piece to my husband and he gagged so much he almost threw up. The meat they used to cook this dish was 100% rotten. The dish was heavily covered in sauce to cover up the smell and flavor of the rotten beef. The next dish we ordered was the beef pad see ew, the vegetables they used for this dish was also rotten, they had a foul smell and had black spots in the middle. Clearly the chefs cooking here don't look at the food? How do they not see these black marks while cooking? I immediately called the restaurant and spoke with Hien, I didn't show anger when I talked to him, I simply shared my observations with him and said "I ordered Beef Steak but the beef you guys used is rotten". His response was, "Ok, so you want a refund?" There was no explanation, remorse, nor apology offered by the restaurant. I get that it's hard to compete with so many other asian restaurants in the area, and everything is so expensive now. But cutting costs this way and risking the health of patrons is not the way to go. Surely my family and I will never be coming back here and will end up buying food from other restaurants in the area.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
I ordered Japanese Ramen. And they gave me Thai broth with noodles! Thinking that I didn't know the difference. But I do! And that's why you should never eat here because they're gonna give you whatever they wanna give you not what you order.

Yelp
Really not what it used to be. I've came here when I was a kid with my parents and family and I remember I would always go home happy and satisfied. I went back recently with my own kids and was somewhat disappointed. First, the place felt icky. The floors and table were a bit sticky and the interior feels quite dated. The highchair were also quite dirty. We also had to wait quite a while to be seated even though half the tables were open. The food itself was definitely under standards nowadays. We ordered a pad thai, a chicken skewer, a catfish rice, and a green curry. Now the taste itself was OK. But they all had bad texture. The pad thai was sooooo soggy it felt like soup noodles. The chicken was very dry. The catfish was over fried to the point it was hard to bite, almost charred. The green curry had a watery consistency. It was hard to pick up even with a shallow spoon. The portion sizes and the prices, which I remembered was the best deal about thus restaurant, was nothing to rave about now either. In fact, I was a bit surprised at my bill. The only saving grace was that service was decent and parking was easy. Nonetheless, I won't say I'll be coming back, especially with all the great choices around now.

Yelp
Noodle World is now circling the drain. Prices have skyrocketed, the place is dingy, light bulbs burned out in the ceilingTheir whole operation seems to now cater solely to food delivery drivers, and the front end staff has reached a level of rude you'd expect at a freeway off-ramp Denny's after the bars close. Still, after getting shut out at two different Pho restaurants down Valley that now close at 9 PM, we just wanted a quick bowl of pho for a couple of tired public school educators. Wewalked in here at 9:30 and stood near the "Please Wait to be Seated" sign while the front end guy made Grubhub sales and roundly ignored us. After about five minutes, he deadpans us and barks "we're take out only right now." The restaurant had about 15 tables occupied by customers. Store hours are listed as 10 AM to 10 PM. I asked if they close at 10, he literally yelled at me "It's 9:33!" Exactly-- and if you're doing take out, then the kitchen isn't closed, so how about showing us to a table? It's one thing to be that customer that walks in five minutes before closing and makes the kitchen crew stay. But in a quick turnaround noodle place, 30 minutes is ample. We walked out and it's doubtful we'll ever walk in again. Not sure if they cut all their expensive minimum wage servers early or what, but angry front end guy should be let go if management cares at all. I have been eating at this location for 25+ years-- when it was Noodle Planet and I was a young analyst working at East West Bank... later when it made the transition to Noodle World... for years with my kids and extended family. It breaks my heart to see what has become of this restaurant-- really the whole area, that now folds up early like a small midwestern town. I'll be taking my concerns about this particular location's failures all the way to Mr. Mekpongsatorn... maybe the president of the company-- a fellow Arcadian-- can explain what's going on at this location?

Yelp
Oldie but goodie. Still got the same great flavors and variety of dishes from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisines . We tend to order from the Chines and Vietnamese selection. Here are a few dishes we love to order on repeat but the menu is so extensive that you can find something for everyone here. That is why this is a great place to go for large groups or for people who want different things. There was only 1 waiter working on the floor and he was great. I really hope this place gets a face lift. Sriachagetti Pad See Ew Noodle World Pho Shrimp Fried Rice Panang Curry Thai Boat Noodles Beef Steak Rice Dish The signage under the Bob's Big Boy is odd. It doesn't make any sense but who cares?

Yelp
I've become a DoorDash workplace foodie for all the variety presented in the app. With the dawn of "fall y'all" weather and a chill in my bones me and a colleague were craving hot food. I ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken. It took me two days to eat - that's how large the portion was. The first day was tasty - the second day was even better!!! All the flavor was soaked in each grain of rice and what was left of the chicken. The spice level was "picky" - enough of a bite, but not overwhelming. Next time I want to try the spicy spaghetti

Yelp
Quick service, relatively inexpensive lunch place in Alhambra. Have come here quite a few times for work lunches since there are so many noodle dishes. Plus salads and meat dishes as well. This is a great place if you're dining with a large group and no one can decide what they want to eat. The wait from ordering to food being served is quite quick, even when I've gone with a 20 person group! The food is pretty good, not uh-mazing but still very good. The quantity is excellent, I always have enough from lunch pad thais for dinner.

Yelp
This is my family's go to place whenever they come to visit we always go to noodle world. This restaurant has food from around the world hence the name of the location the quantity that they give you is something very unique to this location and probably why there's always so many people. Prices are very decent, especially with the amount that you get. We usually always have leftovers because of how much they give you. I've tried pretty much every item on the menu, and my ultimate favorite is the chicken basil with rice.

Yelp
I used to love Noodle World back in the day, as I used to visit the West LA location. It's been a little while since I visited a Noodle World, and it was my first time at the Alhambra location. While the food was ok, I noticed the prices have gone up. For the SGV, you would expect prices to be a little lower. Also, with regards to this location it is pretty dingy. It is obvious the place used to be a Bob's Big Boy since there is the ugly Bob's Big Boy statue still in the middle of the restaurant. They didn't spend much renovating the place. Overall service was good however Tip: Restroom when I went was pretty dirty and beat down. You have been warned.

Yelp
This is an interesting and busy restaurant. Prices are reasonable and menu is large. They basically offer noodle dishes from China, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. Soups and dry noodles, fried rice, appetizers and a couple of entrees served on rice. The restaurant has a bunch of Bob's Big Boy statues, which are always welcome! I have to say they REALLY need to work on service, which took my rating down. No hellis or thank you. Although the menu clearly said I can choose my protein (photo attached), the lady who took my order flatly declined and said I can only pick chicken. I asked for ground chicken and she declined again, unapologetically. They offer all types of proteins throughout the menu so not sure why this is even an issue. When the order arrived, nobody called the number. Not sure how long I waited but noticed they were calling higher nu.bers than mine. Again, unapologetic when I pointed this out. Are they the best noodles I've had? No. But I've been sick and they are just the comfort food I craved. I got the garlic noodles. I have to say, they hit the spot. Garlic was not bitter. They were buttery and packed with chicken, shitake mushrooms, white mushrooms, peas and corn on egg noodles. There was a side of parmesan cheese. At home I added chili crisp and fresh basil, which took them over the top. The quantity was big and price was reasonable. In the future I hope they do not make another bad impression in the 10 minutes I have to deal with them.

Yelp
Location is easy to find just east of Atlantic Bl and on the south side of Valley Boulevard. Parking is available in a private lot & in the street. Environment outside is simple no frills, the inside looks like an old diner. The old Bob's Big Boy statues are preserved inside and are kinda cool. Booths are always comfy and inviting. Staff is always professional and efficient. Food selection is generous for the price and appreciate the vegetarian options. WD available for ladies & gents. lol

Yelp
The Wonton and Pork bowl is incredible! As an added benefit, they kept the old Big Boy mascot statues.

Yelp
We haven't been here in years and decided to take the kids since my youngest loves noodles. They offer a variety of noodle dishes across many different Asian cuisines. Nothing really stands out but it's a good place to go if you're not sure what you're craving. But, if I had to pick, the noodle world spaghetti was the standout. Service was good and all the staff seem to all hustle for this large and busy spot

Yelp
From time to time, my mom always brings food from here for takeout and my favorite thing has to be the chow mein: crispy noodle! I love how once you pour the soupy base into the noodles, it adds a different dimension and purpose to the noodle. Additionally, the portions here are a win-win & and can be shared amongst others. Furthermore, the pad thai here is yummy as well! For the price it is, it isn't so bad. I wish I can talk about the service, but there isn't much to talk about since I wasn't the one that ordered. Most of the time, I always hear that this place gets really busy, so just fyi!

Yelp
I used to come here all the time with my family and enjoyed their food, however, it definitely has changed since the last time I ate here. Their pineapple fried rice was still good, minus the fact that their pineapple had a strong wine flavor to it. As the other reviews had said, their service is lacking and even though it wasn't busy today, it seemed like the workers barely wanted to even acknowledge when customers needed something. For a Friday, it was pretty empty. Maybe I'll give this place another try in the future, but until then, hopefully, they improve on service and food quality.

Yelp
Still one of my go to places for some grub. The food is always bomb! The only thing I think that lacks in this place is the service. Always waiting for a long time for any services. I waited about 5 minutes for a pick up order that was already done. While I was waiting today, someone said that we've been waiting more than 30 mins for a table, walked up to the register, and they finally got seat. Besides that, now the good part.... the foodies!!! My always go to plates are the Spicy Spaghetti with Beef, Hainan Fried Chicken, Pad See Ew with Chicken, Beef Steak with Fried Rice, and Mango Sticky Rice. To be honest tho, I don't think there has been a dish that I tried here and disliked. It's always good for whatever I order. Yakisoba dishes are great. Pad Thai is delish! Mint leaf Chicken spicy and yummy! Spicy Druken Noodles!!! I think I can go on and on! All in all, good part of this place is the food!!!! Bad part is the service! I guess we can't have it all..... or can we? Then again, it's been like this for a long time. Food has been good since I started in 2000. 24 years and still going.... not sure how long they've been open before I started, but thats that. Services is usually about the same tho. They really need more staffs. P.S. im still upset with placing a pickup order a while back. Beef Steak with Fried Rice.... I don't know how I got beef steak with white rice and a $2 charge for salad. LOL

Yelp
Noodle World is a restaurant that serves dishes from various Asian cultures. They have a few locations, including San Marino, Alhambra, and Monterey Park.. ::Drinks:: The Thai Iced Tea was decent, but the boba was clumped together. ::Food:: We tried the Crispy Egg Noodle with Chicken, but unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked, and the sauce lacked flavor. However, the dish redeemed itself with a generous serving of vegetables and chicken. The House Wonton Noodles suffered from a bland broth, and while the Beef Chili with rice was decent, the tender beef saved the day, providing a flavorful element. One notable aspect is the surprisingly low price, which aligns with the overall food quality. ::M's Notes:: - Indoor Seating - Parking lot

Yelp
My reviews are reminders to myself. Cheap price for decent food. Like the hustle of the staff. Like 1 guy service 20 tables but they'll get you what you need as soon as they have a hand free. Papaya salad - shredded nicely, decent flavor Catfish with chili sauce - fried catfish, nice depth of flavor, hint of spiciness Tom kha with chicken - loaded with veggies and meat, not as sour as some other tom kha but has nice mellow flavor Rad nah with pork - tastes pretty good but very similar to Chinese rice noodle/broccoli/meat dish They aren't rude, just busy. Don't go if you're the type of person who goes to a fast food restaurant and expects high end wait staff. (-_-)

Yelp
IMO the best Chinese food in SoCal can be found in the San Gabriel Valley. Located off of Valley Boulevard near Atlantic, Noodle World is no exception with a hugely diverse and multicultural Asian menu which includes appetizers, salads, Thai noodle soups, Chinese noodle soups, Vietnamese noodle soups, Japanese noodle soups, soupless noodles, wok noodles, pasta, fried rice and other rice dishes, as well as boba and other beverages. According to their website, "Our portion size and pricing are also a big part of why we remain a perpetual favorite amongst our devout fans." On this visit, I ordered the Hong Kong Pan Fried - beef slices, bean sprouts, Chinese broccoli and rice noodles pan fried with soy sauce...delicious greasiness! Currently full-service locations can only be found in Alhambra, Monterey Park and San Marino, so Noodle World needs to open a location further south as soon as possible!

Yelp
How the mighty have fallen. Noodle World didn't always have the best food, but it was generally decent. To be fair, the last time I had this place was a different location pre-COVID, but the food today was noticeably worse than what I remember. I also looked at my old pictures, and it also certainly looks better than what we got today. I ordered the spicy spaghetti. Their portions are still as generous as always, but I remember the spicy spaghetti being quite flavorful and tasty in the past. This time, while it definitely was flavorful, it tasted like glorified cafeteria food (not in a good way). I love saucy noodles, but this was definitely too heavy on the sauce. The sauce also tasted like it probably came out of a can (yes, I meant can and not jar); it was Chef Boyardee level flavor. That is not a compliment. I'm willing to give a different Noodle World a try before I originally rule it out, but based on my meal today, I will not be back if I can help it.

Yelp
My family and I (party of 11) decided to have a late night dinner at this restaurant after my nephew's high school graduation. Upon our arrival and while looking at the restaurant from the outside, i realized two things: 1-this place was very crowded. People were waiting to be called while waiting inside and outside so obviously it is a very popular restaurant which is a good thing and 2-this restaurant itself is huge. We waited for our name to be called approx. twenty mins Once seated, our waiter Vincent (who was AMAZING, friendly and a very hard worker) immediately took our beverage orders while we glanced over the menu. We had our drinks within four minutes and we were Ready to place our food orders After the last person ordered, I glanced at my watch to see how long it would take for our food to be delivered to our table. Five minutes went by and our food was brought out in rolling carts. FIVE MINUTES!! Wow! This was AWESOME and amazing service I thought to myself. As each person received their meals, I could not help but to lick my lips as every single dish looked and smelled sooooo good! I have no idea what everyone ordered but I will say that every single person commented about how tasty, fresh and happy they were with their meals. 11 out of 11 positive reviews, VERY rare I thought to myself. As for me, I had chicken fried rice which was DELICIOUS and the portion size was HUGE!! I ended up having to take 1/2 of my order home as it was simply too much for me. I also had the mango sticky rice which I had never tried and I quickly fell in love. This dessert was so good that it left me craving more but only willpower prevented me placing a second order. Everyone throughout the restaurant appeared to be having a good time as conversations and laughter could be heard throughout the entire restaurant. Very positives vibes at this casual place. I will DEFINITELY return to to this restaurant as it was a positive dining experience.

Yelp
my favorite childhood place to come to! this place is great for bigger parties if you want several dishes to share. if you do order a dish, it might last you for another meal or two though. since they mostly specialize in thai food, i usually get their thai dishes. my favorite dishes are their thai boat noodles and their pad see ew. their prices went up recently, but i definitely think it's still worth the price with the amount you are given. their service here is usually good, but they do tend to get busy during dinner and on weekends so that affects their service and how fast they are able to help you. there's a parking structure near the restaurant with plenty of parking. sometimes street parking in front of the restaurant is also available.

Yelp
This location is off busy Valley Blvd, a noticeable difference from their San Marino location. Haven't been for a few years and came back for a large group family gathering. They had a table ready and the server was efficient in dealing with a larger group. Food came out quickly considering our group size. This is not a fancy place but they will deliver on value and predictability. Used to be a Bob's Big Boy back in the day, you can't miss the "Bob" statue homage in their waiting area. Nice that they kept the original legacy alive. Parking is available in their private lot or in the surrounding neighborhood streets nearby.

Yelp
The service is slow, but friendly. Ambience is a little odd, part Bob's Big Boy diner, part casual Thai restaurant. The food is amazing though. Huge portions. My favorite is the pad see ew. My husbands favorite is the spicy spaghetti. Plenty of free lot and street parking.
