Eater Bowl Bowl Bracket: Panda Express vs. Panera Bread - Eater

"I love terrible mac and cheese. So by extension, Noodles and Company’s Wisconsin-style mac and cheese seems right up my alley." - Madeleine Davies

Fast, clean, and predictable in a good way. This is the kind of place where you can walk in hungry, half-functioning, and still walk out full and satisfied without much thought. Menu hits the basics—mac & cheese, pasta with protein, Asian noodles, zoodles if you’re pretending to be healthy. Add a protein, skip the guilt. Staff is usually friendly, food comes out fast, and they keep the place looking decent. It’s not fancy, but you’re not here for fine dining—you’re here because it’s Tuesday and cooking sounds like punishment. Penne Rosa with grilled chicken? Solid. Wisconsin Mac with some extra cheese and breadcrumbs? Childhood in a bowl. Even the potstickers are decent for what they are. Top Tom Tip: Download the app. The rewards stack fast, and every now and then they’ll hit you with a free bowl when you weren’t expecting it. Also: extra parmesan crisps. Trust me.

I usually order in the app for pick-up and my orders are correct and on time. The times that I have ordered in person have been good experiences too. Yes, there are mostly teens working but they’re working hard and were friendly and accommodating if you’re nice to them too. PS - customer service and dealing with the public is hard non general

Google
This location is filthy. The front doors are covered in dirty fingerprints, the booths & floors are sticky and the bathrooms need a deep clean. I do not feel comfortable eating here. If this is what the front of the house looks like- i can imagine how they dont take care of the kitchen. Gross.

Google
What has happened to their Mac n Cheese, We do not know. They used to be the best Mac n Cheese but not anymore! Noodles and company food are just not very good anymore. They used to be our favorite but will we go back, may be not! Unless they revamp their menus and bring back Thai green curry and Wisconsin cheese steak!

Google
Well it was ok. The food tasted decent but my son’s Japanese pan was full of carrots (pic of the amount of carrots on a small portion). The portion sizes seem much smaller and it was kind of expensive. The pot stickers were kind of mushy but still tasted good. Honestly a mediocre experience. The bathroom needs work and while the staff wasn’t rude, they were not friendly. We ate, it was ok but honestly will not be back to this location unless some things change.

Google
I used to love this Noodles so i’m not sure what happened. The workers did not acknowledge a single person who walked in, and were clearly ignoring people who were waiting. Also I got the Rigatoni Rosa with chicken and I ended up having to throw the chicken away because it was inedible. I was not able to bite or cut through it. Yuck

Google
I stopped in around 1 o’clock to place an order for two people dine in and after 45 minutes I still have not received my food so then I requested it to be given to me as takeout. I got it within about 10 minutes and it was cold. This is the Brookfield Wisconsin location.

Google
They burned my noodles? Lol… This is the first time I’ve ever gotten noodles where they burned my noodles… also when I walked in no one greeted me. I just stood there like a deer in headlights while the blonde girl packed to-go orders. She looks all bothered and irritated, like she’s sick of her job. Not friendly at all, throwing people’s orders on the table after screaming their name and walking away in a huff. Who you putting on this show for? Anyway, it’s not hard to say “I’ll be with you in a second.” But observing her passive aggressive behavior I think that ship has sailed. Also at 6 o clock she’s aggressively putting chairs on top of the tables to close for the night. How inviting for customers. Oh wait, she doesn’t care. Someone just said “thank you!” To this girl and *no response*. People like this ruin restaurants and a company’s image. I would personally fire her and recommend she get a warehouse job instead where she doesn’t have to talk to anyone.

Yelp
They were so nice and helped us so much! Food was absolutely fabulous, the vibes are stupidly stupendous and all the bad reviews are AI fyi

Leah G.

Yelp
Really disappointing experience at this location. For one thing, every employee had earbuds in, even those helping customers. They were clearly distracted. I ordered the med salad with chicken for dine-in. I have ordered this salad dozens of times and the chicken is always warm and freshly prepared. This time, they clearly served me a pre-made salad in a to-go container. I asked why the chicken was cold and then insisted it was always served cold; when I questioned this, they again insisted the salad was made fresh and the chicken was "intentionally cooled down." Serving subpar food is one thing; blatantly lying to your customers is unacceptable.

Yelp
Oh. Oh no. I wanted so badly to have a positive experience. The guy behind the register was friendly. It all went downhill from there. First, the drink machine was overflowing with ice, which was all over the floor. I'm not exaggerating that I almost slipped and wiped out. Next, we ordered two dishes. One was customized: no protein, and replace broccoli with green onion. That one came with chicken, with green onion, AND with broccoli. The second dish was just plain old macaroni and cheese. We placed an order online for takeout. The estimated pickup time was 9min after we placed the order. Cool! We got there 12min from the time of placing the order. The macaroni and cheese was NOT EVEN room temperature. It was completely cold. The abundant shredded cheese on top was not even slightly melted. This was clearly not prepared in the 12 minutes before we arrived; this was some old dish they had laying around and gave us. It was so gross. We wanted to have our takeout outside on a nice Saturday night. Instead, we got to drive home and microwave our recently purchased meals. Thanks, Noodles & Company!

Yelp
The cashier acted like I was bothering them by ordering food. Would not recommend this place

Yelp
Yesterday I had ordered spicy Korean beef and when I got home the beef was missing. I went back today to report the issue. The employee who helped me was awesome. I got another dish but was credited for the missing beef. That was all I was looking for. Then he gave me a complimentary drink and before I left he also gave me a coupon for a free bowl the next time. That's great service. Also the dish With and without beef was very good.

M F.

Yelp
I wish I would have read the reviews before ordering from this location. I got severely under done and shredded pot stickers and cold penne Rosa with burnt chicken. Never again.

Yelp
I didn't realize if you don't pay $1.25 for "extra" sauce...you don't get any sauce at all. If your selling a alfredo dish it should start off with the alfredo. Chicken Montemore with shrimp and dry noodles....such a waste of $17. I want my money back. Tastes like nothing. And the nerves of tacking on a tip. If I could leave a negative star I would.

Yelp
Dirty location!! The floors were seriously slippery and dirty. I watched a worker empty the garbage but then never brought the cans back. When it was time to throw our napkins away we had nowhere to put them. Food was mediocre but I'll find another location to go to next time. I was seriously grossed out.

Andy D.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch during a conference I was attending nearby. Ordered at chicken taco salad, it was good and the regular was the right size for my lunch. For me what was disappointing was all of the waste, I ate at the store. The salad came in a brown paper bag, the salad was in a plastic bowl and there were 2 containers of dressing- there was no easily identified recycling at the store. Add the pile of napkins in the bag and felt that was a lot of waste. We can do better

Thomas B.

Yelp
So stupid, restaurants are complaining that they are losing business because of covid but the reality is that they are losing business due to their dumb business practices. You have to download the app and order on-line. I dont want to input my credit card in their app nor do I want to add my E-mail address to their website. They touch the bag so why cant you pay at the cashier as a walk-in. There is a mobile credit card machine where the employee does not have to touch anyone's credit card. Having on-line orders only really screws them over as in the 5 minutes I was there, they lost 6 customers. Me and a family of 5. That is where your profits are going...down the drain. There are other places to go.

Dan B.

Yelp
Very tiny portion if you order the penne pasta small and it's still $7. Comes in a black small plastic to go dish no plates even if you dine in.

Yelp
I placed a catering order online to pick up at this Noodles and Co. today at 11:30. I showed up around 11:25 and everything was all ready to go. The manager (I regret I did not get her name, brunette with glasses) insisted on helping me with the food to the car which was very nice. She explained that I should bring back the chafing dishes/black bag for a free bowl - which is a great incentive! When I got the food back to the office every single thing was correct. There were plates, napkins, nametags that showed what food was what, serving utensils - even matches for the sternos. Included was a sheet with nutritional information and she even highlighted which items we had ordered. From start to finish I was extremely happy with this experience and I would GLADLY order from here again and recommend to friends in the area.

Trisha F.

Yelp
I did an app order for pickup and ordered a regular size buttered noodles. When I got back to my office, the bowl was in the regular size bowl, but the serving I was given was smaller than the small sized order. And the food was cold. Not what I paid for! Very disappointed.

Bailey M.

Yelp
Very unprofessional. I literally waited 1 hour in line for my food while everyone else passed me up they deserve zero stars for customer service. Nobody order online & it smells like dirty mop water in here also.
google avatar

Phil G.

Yelp
I got this pork Chipotle adobo dish and a cup of Thai soup. I was confused by the menu board and thought I was supposed to get something from each section because it was numbered 1,2,3. Ok, oops my fault. But I'm glad I made that mistake because I got chicken instead of pork and I wasn't expecting macaroni noodles. In short, I didn't like it - but the Thai soup is awesome! It made up for the all the other problems I had here. It was so good, if I ever find my self at this place again, this is all I'm getting!

Yelp
Have eaten at many noodles and company before with never a issue. My son has celiac disease and I ordered a pesto cavatappi with fusilli noodles for take out. He started to eat it and found a macaroni noodle in it. I called to explain and complain. They offered to remake it or send me a free bowl coupon. In order to get a refund I had to come back in with my credit card, which I did. She didn't even offer to comp my whole meal which was $22. She handed me $8.41 and apologized. As if that is going to make him better now that he is throwing up from the contamination. If you have to eat gluten free skip noodles and company.

Ellie K.

Yelp
They took our order over the phone will the store was closed and we have been trying for 5 days and they won't give us our money back coprate can't do anything
google avatar

Mark U.

Yelp
Normally my "go to" dish is the Japanese pan noodles. They are usually consistently good. This time however, they were burned and it gave the whole dish a bitter flavor. I only ate a few bites and tossed the rest out. It was a disappointment. They were somewhat busy at the time and it also seemed to take forever to get the food I ultimately threw away.
google avatar

Audrey G.

Yelp
I do like Noodles & Co very much, but it's overpriced for what you get. I'd come more if the prices were lower or some sort of combo meal was offered in the near future. Other wise offer some sort of punch card in the future. Over all it was clean.

Yelp
I usually love noodles but this place ruined my monday. as soon as we got our food, the cashier/busser began sweeping by my feet and swept over my feet. he apologized, yet kept doing so and then began loud whistling. many other customers you could tell were getting annoyed that they couldn't talk to the people they were with because he kept whistling. tables were unclean, surprising because the busser boy would not leave the dining area and would not stop interrupting our meal. the penne rosa I always order, was very creamy and cheesy and definitely wayyy different than how I get it at other locations such as pewaukee or menomonee falls. the mac n cheese was very watery and the cheese was very pasty. all three of our dishes (penne rosa, mac n cheese and steak stroganoff) tasted burnt and the whole restaurant smelled burnt. we knew something was off when we walked in and smelled it, but we never thought noodles could disappoint us like this. I am leaving feeling disgusted with the food and had to get out of the burnt smelling restaurant which they tried to cover up with some fruity smell. disgusting!

Yelp
This was my first meal ever in Wisconsin! So does it get an extra star? nah.. There were several choices: several variations of different types of pasta ranging from American like mac & cheese, Asian like curry, or Mediterranean dishes. I opted for the pad thai with chicken. It was just ok, but it was fast and everyone was friendly - so that counts for something right?
google avatar

Shaefer P.

Yelp
For some reason this restaurant never cooks the vegetables. Like for my penne rosa, they cook the pasta, mix in the sauce, and then just put raw tomatoes and spinach on top to the point of it being cold. My friend and I ordered pot stickers and they were hard and crunchy and brown. Returned them for cash and the cashier (who was very kind) told us that the grill is broken so they are just winging it on how they are preparing food .

Yelp
As I was out shopping for furniture... which is completely and totally overwhelming and exhausting, I decided to have lunch while I was out. I saw Noodles & Company which I figured was the same as Nothing But Noodles, which I enjoy... so I went in. I have to say that not a lot on the menu actually spoke to me, but I decided to go with the Whole Grain Tuscan Linguine. As I was waiting I made my way over to the drink computer. Yes... drink computer. I have never seen anything like it. It is a drink machine, with a touch screen above the dispenser where you can choose your beverage of choice. Beware, if you are indecisive like I am, it seems like a good idea at first, but then... nightmare because there are so many options! And there is only one dispenser, so if I or a child appear in front of you, then you will be waiting for awhile. Fortunately the children in front of me were browsing through every flavour of Coke, Fanta, and whatever else that I just had to decide what I wanted. There is the initial screen with things like Coke, Sprite, Fanta, etc. Then when you choose one of those, there is another screen with loads of flavours... Regular Coke, Cherry Coke, Raspberry Coke (yup... Raspberry). I decided on Peach Fanta... yeah I had no clue it existed, and it wasn't that great, but I wanted to try it. My food came out rather quickly. The food was ok... the pasta was dry and there wasn't much flavour besides the red peppers. I was hoping for a bit more sauce or something, but it was quite dry. However, it was a huge plate of food, so at least it would fuel me for the afternoon round of shopping. I think I still prefer Nothing But Noodles.

Lauryn M.

Yelp
Would help if they made the order right. And then when I went to say something everyone of the staff had completely vanished. I made sure to confirm before paying and still they manage to mess it up
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
The menu is very confusing. I couldn't find the price of the menu items very easily so I ended up over paying for something I didn't want. Don't recommend. The food was good enough though.

Yelp
So disappointed. Came here on a trip for work, was told by my hotel (Towne Place Suites by Marriott) that I'd get a discount at local restaurants... This Floridian ventured outside in 35° weather only to be told by the person at the front that while they do BOGO for my hotel, the front desk got it wrong (they no longer just take the hotel key, which I showed him, but they are to provide us w/ a coupon) and he couldn't honor it. Seriously?! I am legitimately showing you my hotel key, do you expect me to go get the coupon and come back in this freezer weather? Oh, well... Someone else got my 5 person order. DEF NOT coming back.

Jay M.

Yelp
If there was a zero star option, I would've chose that instead of one star. Third to Fourth time visiting this location. I'm not sure why I ever go back there.. I've ordered Japanese Pan Noodles every time hoping they would be better. Nothing has changed. They continue to forget to add mushrooms. The noodles are always undercooked and feel like I'm chewing on rubber. They have messed up my order many times. Would not recommended this location.

Hannah J.

Yelp
Dishonest and rude. The worker refused to give me the correct change back because she said I did not pay more than what I owed which was false. I continued to explain to her that change was due back and she continued to talk down to me like I was an idiot. Do not go here if you would like the correct amount of money back in your wallet.

Liz S.

Yelp
NEVER AGAIN. I have had too many screwed up To Go orders with this store and I will NEVER eat there again. I ordered Japanese Pan Noodles with chicken. They are so lucky that I don't have a shellfish allergy -- my order came with SHRIMP at the bottom of the bowl, and WITHOUT the extra broccoli and spinach that I requested AND PAID MORE FOR. If you can't afford to hire employees who can read at a basic level, or give a damn about accuracy and the health of your customers, please close this store and invest in another location.
google avatar

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Never going back! Girl up front extremely rude! I asked for Parmesan Mac & cheese she snapped back "we don't have that. We've never had that." Jeez sorry! Parmesan CHICKEN. No need to be rude. Im sure she had a slight idea what I was talking about.. Ordered a flat bread & it wasn't until I asked if she had included it she snapped "our ovens broke" To top that off she went to a co worker of hers and started talking about me! What did I do to you besides order food, I'm not rude to strangers FOR NO REASON. Poor service ruins good food!
google avatar

Nessie V.

Yelp
This is a fast-food poly-ethnic noodle place. All dishes can be made with a choice of meats or tofu Good portions, fast service, friendly staff, and a menu that can satisfy anyone. This is how fast food should be.
google avatar

Adam B.

Yelp
Allergy-free food ordered and allergen food delivered. Ordered take out allergen-free food and got home to allergy-laden food. One kid sick and threw up from eating chicken apparently cooked in an unclean pan used to cook allergen food. Called mgr, no refund offered! Really disappointing and frustrating experience.

Tommy S.

Yelp
I came in Tuesday at around 9 o Clock. A young man named Luke took my order and got it completely wrong. It took way too long and he never apologized! He then complimented my facial structure and I was creeped out. #Notapeiceofmeat!
google avatar

Sheena F.

Yelp
The soba bowl is no good. The broth lacks flavor, chicken is incredibly dry and portion is no where near worth $9.13.
google avatar

Brit S.

Yelp
Exceptionally excellent. (Is that even a real phrase?) Not that I've ever had a bad time at Noodles but this time was different. I found parking right in front of the doors, was greeted at the door and had my perfectly made meal in less than 10 minutes! Mind you it's currently 515pm and it's dinner time. The staff was Uber friendly and speedy, the music wasn't too loud and the tables were mostly clean. Other than there being no paper towels in the restroom, I have no complaints. Compliments to this location as it was the best I've ever been to and I LOVE noodles and co!
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
No ice. No clean tables. Need bussers. Need staff. Is there a manager or owner overseeing any of this? Always good food but this location struggles with staffing.
google avatar

Nick F.

Yelp
Had a bit of a late night food craving and didn't want typical fast food and they were still open, a bit of a surprise i must say. I ordered the small mac n cheese, while my fiance ordered the mushroom stroganoff, we also got a few flat breads. Food came out hot and fresh. the workers seemed pretty friendly. It was your typical noodles and company experiance. only slight gripe is the soda machine (Coke) must have been having an issue cause the Regular coke was very watered down. Thankfully the Cherry Coke was ok.
google avatar

Kathleen B.

Yelp
Very stuffy air. Food order(s) wrong almost every time. Very fresh, fast and convenient. Decent food and not too expensive for the quality.

Will S.

Yelp
So I really like Noodles and Company, but my current experience was very untypical for the chain. My noodles were undercooked and the grilled chicken which I had added was rubbery.
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
We ordered food for our office recently, and everything was spot on! They have a good staff at this location, and they put together an order for 12 people SO fast. In standard Noodles fashion, everything was a bit expensive, but tasted good. I like how much variety they now have on the menu.
google avatar

Erik R.

Yelp
Great staff & quick service. Usually pretty clean. Good place for a quick cheap dish.
google avatar

Luis A.

Yelp
Never had it before and I must say that it is amazing... I ordered the Wisconsin Mac and Cheese with meatballs and it was delish. Great menu options with pasta, salads, and sandwiches. It's a must to try and I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
I haven't had this bad of a greeting to where I didn't even want to eat my meal. The person that took my order didn't even say Hello when I walked up nor ask what I wanted. She then mumbled if I wanted meat or not... I couldn't hear her so she proceeded to shout at me. Oh and then they put the wrong cheese on my pasta. It's noodles and company not a 4 star restaurant, how hard is it to get things in order?
google avatar

Merinah P.

Yelp
Had it with my dad, I looked at the menu and noticed they have kids meals now!! I didn't get that but, penne rosa , it was pretty good. I got a small but it came in regular bowl??? I don't know why but it was fine. It was a reasonable portion (couldn't eat all of it) and a simple environment.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and tasty food. Veggies and noodles had good texture and flavor.
google avatar

Meica H.

Yelp
I've been to this location a few times now. The lady behind the register remembered me! And the food was perfect. Today, I ordered the Bangkok Curry and rice crispy treat. They were both crafted to perfection.
google avatar

Jessica G.

Yelp
I'm giving this location five stars. The customer service was beyond amazing and the food was great.

Brian K.

Yelp
I stop about once a week since its about the best option for food along the Bluemound strip. Quality and consistency is all over the place, some days its good other days its fair. I end up spending $8 for a bowl of pasta with tofu so the value is not good. I remember when they opened and were line out the door all day long now its only at lunch they get little busy. They don't cook the pasta enough for my taste and they also pre-cook the tofu so sometimes its still cold in my dish and have had it over cooked and once charred.

Andrea F.

Yelp
I'm pretty disappointed with the quality of the dish I ordered today. I ordered a Tuscan Fresca in the buff with double tofu. The amount of tofu was great, but there was only 10 or so pieces of spinach in my to-go bowl. Usually it's a whole bed of spinach, making this bowl a meal. I'm not happy with getting a bowl of tofu with tomatoes. It's pretty disappointing coming back to work to sit down and have a nice lunch, only to find I spent $11 for a "in-the-buff" that had virtually no spinach whatsoever. I feel like it was a complete waste of money and part of me wants to call in and ask for a refund.
