Imagine being thrust into the emergency role of a ghostbuster and being told you would have to pay extra for the one-time use of every accoutrement and weapon. Your proton pack? That will $13. Your P.K.E. defibrillators? Another $13. Your slime vacuum? $13. And your Ecto1A? $13. Now, at Noodles & Company, the extra charges range from only 75 cents to a dollar for extra sauce or veggies and $2.75 to 3.25 for any particular protein. If you are fine with any one of the meals without additional customization, you are in luck. Noodles & Company's entrees, whether Beef Stroganoff or Penne Rosa or Wisconsin Mac & Cheese, are delicious and inexpensive. If you, on the other hand, require double the green onions, double the meatballs, and double the tomatoes, your entree price for each could quickly start to approach the cost of your favorite entree at your favorite sit-down restaurant.
Here's the thing. My wife and I love the food, but we only love it when we double some ingredients, add others, and grab a couple homemade Rice Krispies treats for dessert. Those customizations are what make each entree delectable, succulent, or mouthwatering; and they are what elicit our return visits.
