The 18 Best Cambridge Restaurants | Eater London

"Ordinarily home to the biggest queue on a road totally laden with good places to eat, Noodles Plus plays a trick on diners before they’ve even gotten in. There’s no fooling in the gorgeously greasy scarlet of the pigs’ ears in chilli oil, the generous servings of jasmine tea, or the hospitality from Dong Huang and Hui Yan Li, who opened Noodles Plus in February 2015 as a means of bringing Shanghainese specialities to Cambridge. It’s that little plus in the name, which represents the restaurant’s actual best dish. The very fine noodles be damned; the must-order here is a dumpling. Huang pleats xiao long bao to order with careful mastery, and they arrive at the table like little grenades, ready to burst with their deeply savoury, warming cargo." - James Hansen

A Cambridge Day Trip Filled With the Best Restaurants, Cafes, and Pubs | Eater London

"Best known for expertly pleated xiao long bao that arrive as delicate, soup-filled parcels — each could be enjoyed as a prelude to hand-pulled noodles or as a satisfying single snack for the greedy." - James Hansen

A super small Chinese restaurant in Cambridge that offers traditional breakfast. Excellent quality and fair prices, but unfortunately, that also means it’s usually very crowded. You should be prepared for a long wait, but it’s definitely worth it! Once you’re inside, plan to take your time as well, since only two people handle everything on their own. I can really recommend the Hundun (馄饨) and pig’s ears (猪耳朵) - both are delicious! Definitely worth a visit!

Went here for a late lunch around 3pm on a Sunday. Waited for about 30mins for a seat, then another 15 minutes for the woman who runs the restaurant to take our order. It was worth it. The dumplings were delicious. The cold spicy spiced beef tendon was mouth watering with a chili oil that paired well with the dumplings. The beef noodles were exceptional in that the noodles were cooked perfectly, with the meat and broth pairing together to all form an incredible dish. The restaurant is cash only. ATM is at the nearby CO-OP.

Food was delicious but we waited 40 mins to sit, 20 mins for our order to be taken and an other 40 mins for the food. We were there for 2 hours, and only 20 mins of that was spent eating. We ate under the watchful eyes of hungry customers standing by the door, waiting to eat. The food really was not worth all the wait when there are so many delicious, home made authentic food options on mill road with good service. I strongly urge the owners to hire an extra pair of hands to get food out quicker, seat more people and round off the great food with a decent altogether experience. The food is good and beautifully prepared, all done by hand. Good place to go if it’s quiet.

Visiting Noodles Plus+ feels like slipping through the back door of your Chinese grandparents' kitchen. It's modest and a bit battered around the edges, but brimming with care. The queue almost always spilling onto Mill Road, but inside it’s warm and unpretentious. Just a couple of people quietly working away, hand-crafting noodles and dumplings from scratch. The wait is very much worth it.

I had the vegetable soup noodles and the black fungus with chilli oil the black ear fungus was very good and delicious the noodles were yummy and the texture was very good but wish the vegetables had more flavour.

The best dumplings I’ve had! The handmade noodles were also delicious 😋 Be sure to queue just before 12, as there isn’t much space inside so expect a 30+ min wait if you don’t get in first. For such an amazing selection of food, it’s very cheap too!

Best steam buns (and most juicy!) I have ever had!! Don’t think there is a single item in the menu that I wouldn’t order again. Most the time have to queue and wait patiently as all the food is hand made freshly when you ordered, but it’s all worth the wait.

Seriously good food worth trying and a very reasonable price. The owners are also really nice
