First off, this place used to be Oncle's Cafe and lots of reviews here are for that business. In fact, any review written before April 2025 is for Oncle's.
This place is now Noon Bingsoo House. They offer Bingsoo, Cakes, and Tiramisu. This is one of many businesses in a shopping plaza. Parking is free, but it's tight driving around. There's also parking located down a ramp which I've never used.
Upon walking in, we were greeted and our order was taken quickly. Our desserts were ready by the time I finished paying. I picked it up and carried it to the table hubby secured. The interior is sparsely decorated. They do have pitchers of water for you to help yourself to.
Hubby & I came after dinner and shared two desserts. I wanted the Mango Bingsoo and he wanted the Banana Pudding.
The Mango Bingsoo was okay, but not the best I've had. I must commend the staff on the fact that it looked exactly like the picture on the menu board! However, the bingsoo was a slight letdown. The shaved snow was not plentiful, I expected the snow to be piled a little higher above the top of the container. Upon looking at the bingsoo, I was thinking there wasn't going to be enough fruit, but I was happy there was plenty of mango pieces hidden in the container. I would also like a little more mango sauce over the top. I'm not quite sure what the mousse-like mound on top is, but it was good. I think the shaved snow was milk flavored. I was hoping it was mango like I've had at other places.
The Banana Pudding was good. It comes pre-made and is ready to eat, just pop off the lid. The pudding was a creamy consistency with a good amount of vanilla wafer cookies in it.
For the desserts that come in the paper cups, they would look much nicer if they were presented in something clear. I think the bingsoo should have more sauce on top of the shaved snow. I like the portion size of the single bingsoo because realistically, that's more than enough for me.
Hubby wants to try the Sweet Corn Bingsoo, so we may be back for it.
