My son and I had a hankering for some Chicken Shawarma, and when the Shawarma calls, you answer. We searched for some Mediterranean spots near us in Arlington, and the closest one we hadn't tried yet was Noor, which is just outside of Davis Square. I placed our order on their website, and we headed over to pick up. Parking is tricky, but not as difficult as in Davis Square. It looked like there were a few small tables inside the tiny restaurant. It seems like they do a solid take-out business based on the number of people picking up brown paper bags at the same time as us.
My son fully enjoyed his chicken shawarma sandwich with tahini, and I got the combo kebab dinner plate. I subbed fattoush for the salad, and I got all three sauces. The fattoush pita was fried (nice crunch, but greasy), and it was not heavily spiced, so not the best I've ever had, but not terrible. I did not care for the garlic sauce; the tahini sauce was basic, but the babaganoush had an incredible smokiness to it. Both the chicken and beef kabobs were juicy and flavorful, but I did not love the lale kebab. The prices were great, and I was able to get two meals out of my dinner plate.
I will definitely be visiting again soon!
