Let me start with the positive: the people running this truck were extremely nice, extremely helpful, and greeted me with a smiling face and helpful answers.
I decided to go with their special that day: a shrimp po'boy sandwich.
I probably should have asked more questions about the sandwich, as I was expecting a classic take on the po'boy (breaded, fried), but I couldn't quite tell how they had prepared the shrimp for this version (not breaded or fried, but unclear preparation), nor could I say what, exactly, the specific spice mixture was attempting to do. It felt a bit of a hodgepodge.
I would also want to point out that this sandwich was $12, which seems pretty reasonable, but (as you can see in the photo), there wasn't much to it. I'm happy to pay $12, but I want that to be something specifically curated.
I thought this place was alright. But, truthfully, I'm not sure (when considering all the other spots in the St. John's beer porch) if I'll return.
