NORA Restaurant Bar

Absolutely outstanding food. We were in La Couarde-sur-Mer for 8 days, and returned to this restaurant for 4 of them! We always picked the plat du jour, and were not disappointed with the exceptional flavours. On our last day, we selected a number of different deserts, and they were nothing short of what I might expect in a starred London restaurant. Absolutely excellent… with the service to match. Thank you for the best meals we’ve had out for a while!

We (6 adults and 2 small children) had a lovely dejuner here. Attentive staff, well paced service, creatively plated food enhanced the fresh and excellently prepared food. Although the menu was constrained in choice, we still felt the options were all wonderful. Nice wines completed the meal. If you have a chance to try the pavlova exotique, don't miss it.

We had lunch at Nora, the food was utterly delicious while the staff were friendly and attentive. Best meal I have.had in a long time, I would highly recommend this restaurant

Tasty selection of fusion kitchen meals, no plat de jour or menu combination, conviniently located opposite Marche du Mail.

A lovely roadside place with a beachy vibe. The food was imaginatively prepared, and really delicious. The best I’d eaten on the island, and much better than another place down the road which is supposedly good, and is recommended in the guides. I can’t wait to go back.

Unfortunately I can only give 3 stars. The service was very good. The ceviche was not enjoyable as there was no acidity at all (kind of important for a ceviche). The steak was pretty good but was medium/medium-well and not medium-rare as ordered. The fries were soggy. Sorry to leave such a review, I hope it can be taken constructively.

This was an amazing dining experience from start to finish. It is a charming space and we were so lucky to have the co-owner/chef’s wife who spoke fluent English translate the entire menu for us. She was simply fantastic and so enthusiastic about her husbands amazing and creative cooking. This restaurant is so accommodating and the food and service was SO good. This is an Ile de Re must on your dinner reservation list. You won’t regret it.

The best cocktails that we have had in Isle de Re, the food was really delicious too. Very busy so the staff were under pressure, but the relaxed atmosphere meant that we were happy to wait and enjoy our food and drinks.
