Today I stopped by the Nordstrom Grill at Bellevue Square Mall for brunch, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. I ordered the eggs Benedict, which came with fingerling potatoes and a regular salad. Both sides were overly sauced, leaving them soggy instead of flavorful. The eggs Benedict itself was underwhelming — served on a single piece of bread (not even brioche) and topped with poached eggs that were completely solid, lacking any runny yolk.
The service left much to be desired. When I sat down, no one greeted me, offered a drink, or mentioned any specials. I had to wave someone down just to place my order, and by that time, guests who arrived after me had already been helped. It wasn’t until after I ordered that I finally received my iced tea—no water was ever offered.
When I expressed that the food wasn’t good, the staff kindly told me I didn’t need to pay, which I appreciated. Still, I left a $25 cash tip to cover the iced tea and the meal. I’ve had better experiences here before, but this visit was a letdown. I even mentioned that I had an appointment soon at the DryBar hair salon on the first floor and didn’t have time to wait, but no one offered to remake the dish or provide an alternative. In the end, I left disappointed and still hungry.
I hope this was just an off day, but it certainly makes me hesitant to return anytime soon.
