Nori & Wasabi

What even is this lovely gem found in Lakeview East!?! Went in with my husband and a couple of friends and and enjoyed such an amazing variety of new spins on classic sushi rolls (and Japanese food in general). The Lava was easily my favorite - a simple California roll topped with a mixture of seafood and spicy mayo and eel sauce - so fresh and sooooo tasty. But the real surprise here were their small bites. The Tuna Crunch was ridiculous. Rice and tuna topped with avocado was the most refreshing version of a deconstructed roll I think I've found. Meanwhile the baked mussels - something I wouldn't normally ever think to order (but did!) were so warming and delicious. It's a simple little spot - but definitely go in and give it a shot. The owner is a lovely woman who's so helpful and will happily make recommendations for you should you be tired of the regular ol' roll.

This was a tasty place. They have a few tables for dine it but it seemed to be mostly geared for take out. I really enjoyed the food here and was super surprised by the portion sizes. The bento box was enormous for the price and you got a really nice variety. Every thing was nicely prepared and had a good flavor with a nice crunch. I enjoyed the chicken katsu in my bento and would order it again. I also ordered the Fiesta role. I appreciated also that it was served with a different dipping sauce that brought out a different flavor. I would definitely come here again or order take out.

I ordered delivery from Nori & Wasabi on a whim and WOW! Their rolls are amazing! I have lived in Chicago for about 5 years and have been searching for a “go to” sushi spot for a long time, today I found it! I’m so glad I tried this place! I highly recommend their Green Giant and Fiesta rolls

I wanted a good looking bento box for lunch and found nori&wasabi online. I wanted sushi but I didn’t want to spend $30+ I was very happy with my pick and it was the perfect portion for me. I really liked the dumplings and salad. The wasabi they provided was very strong and sour-pungent in a odd way so I couldn’t dip in soy sauce&wasabi. But the sushi was still yummy without it! I’m happy to have tried this place and will come back when I want a quick fix.

This is my favorite sushi spot!! The ingredients are always so fresh and delicious and at a decent price. My boyfriend and I always get the dinner for 2 which is a perfect mix of apps and rolls, the tuna crunch is theee best. They’ve also added some great lunch specials and the owners are super sweet and helpful to top it off! Highly recommend!!

We celebrated #SushiSunday a while back with sushi from @noriandwasabichicago My handsome hubby and I had take out dinner for two which consists of 24 pieces of the follwing:  8 pcs of 911 sushi rolls (inside: spicy crab meat, avocado and cucumber,  topped with: deep-fried unagi, crunch, eel sauce, and spicy tuna). 8 pcs of spicy tuna rolls, 8 pcs of salmon rolls.  It also comes with 4 pcs of tuna crunch,  edamame and a box of Pocky. Call me crazy, even with all of the food in the dinner for two,  we ordered the 8 pc Lava roll (inside: California roll, topped with scallop, shrimp, crunch legs, spicy crab meat, scallion, eel sauce and spicy mayo. Everything was fresh and delicious and ready for our pickup time. They have recently revamped their interior and added some grab and go items in a new open air refrigerator. Loved the vegan sushi rolls we got here! They have creative rolls like purple rain, but even the avocado roll was delicious and had a generous amount of avocado! (already started eating in the pics sorry!)

Such a gem of a place! The owners got this perfect - the place is clean and simple, the sushi is so fresh and delicious (my fav was the martini roll), and the prices are right. I love Momotaro too, but if you do sushi right, this is all you need.
