The Best Road-Trip Worthy Restaurants Along California’s Central Coast

"The Los Alamos stretch of the 101 can be jarringly dark at night. Look for the sizable neon “motel” sign to help locate one of the region’s best restaurants. Norman at the Skyview Los Alamos motel has a charming property with an even cozier dining room, where chef Dustin Badenell works his magic. Order the cast iron skillet cornbread with fermented hot honey for the table, and ask for recommendations from the rotating menu that showcases fresh ingredients from local farmers." - Eater Staff, Mona Holmes

The food was extremely delicious. My friend ordered the chicken achiote dinner plate and I ordered the Patty Pan Squash. The half baguette for an appetizer. The bread was perfectly crispy just like crusty bread should be. The main entree was fantastic. The chicken flavor was spot on and unbelievably tender. My veggies were cooked just right and had a great flavor. The food is a definite must try

Google
Beautiful property off the beaten path of Los Alamos. Service was good but food was overall just ok. They would prefer you park a hundred yards or so at the bottom of the hill and walk up to the restaurant, but I ignored the "hotel guests only being this point" sign. You should too. Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was good but the fries were cold and stale. Beet and burrata salad was good if unremarkable. New batch of hot fries were as good as frozen unseasoned fries get. Kind of an unsure mix of hip and southwestern diner decor with some interesting art inside. They also have outside dining by the pool with a view. It's a cool relaxing place and I'm sure we'll give it another chance.

Google
So we've dined at numerous high end restaurants and I'll have to say this hidden gem is amazing!! Some restaurants have amazing service, some have food that looks as great as it taste. Chef Dustin Badenell, our Server Abel and the rest of the staff have it all covered from start to finish. From drinks to starters to entrees and definitely don't forget dessert it was the most amazing meal we have had out in quite some time. It is absolutely on our list to visit again, soon! Also my wife is vegan and she was just as delighted with the choices and options they had for her as well. Thank You Chef Dustin and staff for a wonderful birthday dinner for my wife.

Google
Had a fantastic dinner experience at Norman. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Skyview property and didn’t want to venture out again after a long day of wine tasting so we decided to try the restaurant attached to our hotel and it was such a great decision. Starting off with the yellowfin crisps, the freshness of all the ingredients were perfect. You can really taste all the different flavors from the fish to the Japanese slaw to the soy glaze. Everything sat on crispy, airy, fried won tons. Great appetizer to start the meal off with. Kept it simple and ordered the Bates Burger and that exceeded my expectations as well. The American wagyu beef was so tender and juicy. The caramelized onions were done perfectly, and the creamy garlic aioli was the perfect extra layer to this phenomenal burger. For dessert we ordered the cookie skillet which was on special that night. Very warm cookie with firm edges and very soft and melty inside with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to finish off our meal. Will absolutely come back to eat here again in the future. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Google
Mediocre food. We got the steak and salmon. Added shrimp to the steak which was $12. The steak barely have any seasoning. The shrimp is the worst, it taste like someone just heat it up. No salt, no seasoning, no flavor at all. The salmon was cooked well, but the rest of the sides around it taste like a whole different dish. Everything is just bland. The only thing that’s good were the drinks from the bar. My partner had called ahead to ask the staff if they have bday candles for dessert. They confirmed they have it, but on the day, they served the dessert with a normal fat candle. The server apologized for not having a bday candle, so they sub with that one. By the time the server served the dessert, the candle had melted all over the dessert… It is a convenient place to have food if you stay at the motel, but I would recommend going somewhere else in the town. There are better places to eat with the price you pay.

Google
We have eaten at Norman’s twice. The food and cocktails have been great. Nice view of the valley when sitting at the bar. We had: Yellowfin Crisps as a starter, Japanese slaw, sesame ginger vinaigrette, furikake, soy mirin glaze, sriracha aioli. Grape and Candied Walnut Salad - spinach, radicchio, blue cheese, apple cider vinaigrette. Eastern Scallops - celeriac purée, grapefruit segments, beurre blanc, apple fennel slaw. All 3 of these dishes had excellent flavor. To finish off the dinner we had the Bread Pudding A La Mode. The ingredients on each dish paired together. Chef at Norman is very creative with the dishes.

Google
Had an absolutely amazing lunch with my wife. Such a beautiful place located in Los alomos right off the freeway. Outdoor seating has incredible mountain views. Great hosts, DELICIOUS FOOD.

Google
The restaurant is part of a motel built in the 50s....and the vibe as you walk past the rooms is totally that feel. The service is attentive and knowledgeable about the food. They have a good wine selection, which is important given the area's vineyards and quality wine options.

Yelp
Great ambiance- you will need to walk up and down the hill for parking. Cute reserved hotel. Food was solid and service was a bit chaotic. Spaghetti squash and shepherd's pie very good. Schnitzel and Caesar average at best Go with Chef's dessert
google avatar

Corina R.

Yelp
1- problem is they have no parking for the restaurant. It is all for guests at the hotel. There's a few spaces on the road or you can park below and hoof it up. 2- waitress took our order, we saw her write it down. But she never put our bar drinks order in, and we were brought to appetizers instead of the Caesar salad, we ordered. We had to actually walk over to the bar to get our drinks done and ask about our salad. She was busy shopping on Amazon. We could see it on her computer when she stood in the corner of the restaurant. 3- there was a table of four very loud, very drunk patrons. They really disturbed at the entire restaurant as it is one giant open room. It is the job of the manager or the bartender to ask them to keep it down. No one said anything to them someone from our table had to go over and ask them to keep it down. They had two little dogs under their table unleashed in the middle of a restaurant. I would give the food about a three rating, but this service deserves a one rating There are so many nice restaurants in that area. I would take my $200 and go somewhere else. I will not be going back here.

Yelp
Wanted to get away from LA for the Thanksgiving Holiday and decided on this restaurant for dinner as they featured a special 3 course menu @$75.00 per person though only had 3 choices for main entree none of it being turkey, still overall the place looked good as the ambiance seemed very nice. We were seated outside (the only ones) with no complaint as all the tables seemed to be occupied inside though we had a reservation and was hoping then when a table did clear up we would be offered that. Asked our waitress for a heater to be turned on for us which they finally got someone around to help with after asking a second time though at this point we were just about finished with our meal. One of the choices, the duck my mother had was basically inedible and stopped eating after a few bites. What really left a bad taste was the service. You would think for a special holiday and for the price the service would be a bit more attentive with no checks on if everything was ok after a few minutes of having the entrees delivered or no comment on when we asked to have the dishes cleared and nearly a full plate taken away. Had to track down our waitress inside to get the check as we were both ready to leave this disappointing place which I had high hopes for.

Yelp
Had the most amazing 3 course meal for Valentine's Day with my mom and husband. The restaurant was busy and although we couldn't secure a reservation in advance, we sat at the bar and waited for a table. In less than 20 minutes a table opened up and the manager comped a round of drinks due to the wait. The staff was stellar, service was excellent., and the food was delicious. I have no idea why this restaurant isn't rated much higher. Some reviews mention the walk up hill but you just call to let them know you are there and they quickly escort you in a cute golf cart. Same when you are finished. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Norma G.

Yelp
Such a cute place! I've been passing by here for years and have been wanting to try it and finally decided to take the plunge. They drive you up in a golf cart because it's on hill. It's an adorable motel with a pool and I'm dying to stay there some day. We chose to sit outside on this beautiful day. Our server let us know about the specialty drinks which we decided to try..very yummy and pretty. The yellow fish crisps were amazing. I wanted more. The chilaquiles were such a nice surprise. Just the right amount of spice (not too spicy). We will def be back.

Yelp
Perched on a hilltop connected to an old style motel. Small booths and tables with a quiet low chill atmosphere. We grabbed a 6 top. Some classic and original cocktails. Good burgers with inconsistent vegetables (looking plate to plate). I ordered a skirt steak off the menu and my friend ordered a skirt steak special. They were the same but mine unknowingly cost $12 more, hah! Recommended Slainte

Yelp
Visited the restaurant a few times before and had a great time. Decided to wait until the day after Valentines for a visit. From the moment we walked in it was a disappointment. A young couple with their little lap dog were dining. The dog would bark uncontrollably every time the door opened. EVERY PATRON THAT ENTERED IT EXITED, the dog would bark nonstop. Not once did they step outside! Delay with server greeting us. Very limited and small menu, we're out of a few choices. The dessert ordered didn't come as it was described. Long delay getting drinks. Server forgot to enter entree. The burger was good. The pasta had no taste and was bland AF. Food was mediocre. Staff could do better. Ambiance terrible. I'm personally not a fan of people bringing non working dogs into restaurants. There were 3 dogs. 2 you wouldn't even know they were there. Not a sound. But the one small, yappy lap dog made its presence known. No rush to ever return. Management needs to step up their game if they plan on competing with the other restaurants in Los Alamos.

Yelp
Quaint, out of the way motel that has been restored to its Mid-Mod magnificence. The restaurant was warm and welcoming and the staff was friendly and attentive. You have to park in the lot at the bottom of the hill and call for a ride in the "Moke Mobile" so you can be shuttled to the top. The views are stunning and if it's a particularly nice weather day, sit outside near the pool. My husband had the Bates Burger and I enjoyed the Chilaquiles with pork chile verde. We would absolutely eat here again and are planning to come back and stay in the Spring.

Yelp
In an unsuspecting motel on top of a hill, Norman dishes out beautifully crafted cocktails and delicious food.
google avatar

Yelp
We generally love going to The Norman. This visit was with some friends. Ambiance is great and it wasn't too busy, but the food quality was off this time. The portion on the blackberry and goat cheese was small, the hangar steak was small and wasn't really seasoned unfortunately. We also had the shrimp and grits but the shrimp were overcooked and tough. The cocktails though are always great and on point. They have by far the best Paloma. Hopefully food quality and prep can be improved. Especially based on the prices charged. As a reminder, if you are dining and park at the bottom of the hill, to call when you are about to pull in and they will send a moxie car down to get you so you don't have to walk up the hill as there is no parking next to the restaurant l.

Yelp
Came in here last minute not knowing what to expect... first off service was great, food really did it for me we had the short ribs, Brussels sprouts, bates burger and chicken dish all of the dishes did NOT disappoint. Bartender really knows how to mix the cocktails well!

Yelp
House Rosé is perfection, so crisp. Cute space for drink especially if you're staying at Skyview. They have a super cute charcuterie board perfect for two! The service was great, the staff was super kind

Yelp
A great spot for a quiet meal with lovely (optional) outdoor seating! Went for a weekend brunch... Superb food, outstanding staff, excellent views. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Came here for mother's day brunch and had an amazing meal. Loved the trendy and comfy ambiance. The service was very friendly and the food was delicious. The bread and berry butter we got as an appetizer was so soft and a great was to start off! The deviled egg was a yummy mix of flavors. I enjoyed my french toast- it was similar to like a bread pudding and had a great balance of sweetness. My brisket hash was good, I loved the lemon hollandaise on top. I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Milla G.

Yelp
Appealing ambiance. Lovely experience as Skyview guests. They have breakfast included for hotel guests, and a glass of rose to be redeemed during your stay. Outdoor patio is on a beautiful deck near the pool. Indoor of restaurant/bar is mid-century modern. Bartender Fonz was friendly and so was Silvia and one other waitstaff whose name I did not catch. Happy Hour was 3-6PM poolside, including snacks and drinks. Yellowfin Crisps were delicious. Nice that it is open even when other restaurants/bars in Los Alamos are closed on Tuesdays/Wednesdays.
google avatar

Robbin M.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to finally make it up to this cute little gem on the hill. Food was delicious and service great. Quaint place with 33 rooms on the hill. Fire pits and pool available. Restaurant has a great bar and fireplace and piano to set the mood

Yelp
Loved our dinner tonight, the service team and the ambiance! -Brussels-Must have and among the best Brussels dish we've ever had! Bacon, cranberries, parm and blueberry balsamic...so good! -Beet and Burrata Salad-Creamy delicious burrata with red beets, cherry tomatoes and arugula -Burger-Just get and don't think! -Shrimp and Risotto-Loved the truffle, mushrooms, cheese and the spinach that all combined for amazing flavors that surprisingly complemented the prawns Included some pics of the interior.

Yelp
The last of the places we visited on our Los alamos day trip! Located just outside the main strip, up on a hill with beautiful views. The retro decor is pretty cool and the whole vibe is welcoming. We had reservations but decided to just eat and drink at the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive.Overall the service was quick and attentive. The paloma- made very well, good mix of alcohol to everything else so it's not super strong but you still know there's alcohol in there. Refreshing and just a good starter drink. Yellowfin crisps- really delicious. Crispy and the yellowfin cooked perfectly. The texture was great and I would definitely order this again. Skuna Salmon- Over all the dish was great but definitely need more puree and reduction to go with the big filet of salmon. I think i ate about 2/3's of my salmon, while portioning the puree, so the last third was all salmon. The salmon itself was cooked perfectly and had crispy skin but definitely needs the puree and reduction for the complete taste on your palate. Overall the experience was a good one. Pricing is definitely on the higher end but i don't think they're too far off since the food was quality. We came on a slow day so didn't experience much of a wait and the bartenders were attentive. There was a hiccup as they ran out of olive juice for the martini so had to order something else. If you're not on a budget and want a chill and cool experience then consider coming here. PS: i did try the cornbread but didn't eat enough to make a review but the bite i had was really good.

Yelp
We were staying in town in Los Alamos and didn't realize that the night we arrived that this was the only restaurant open that night. Fortunately, we were able to be seated. It is tricky getting to this place. The GPS guides you north on the freeway and then make a u-turn only to return to the original location. Very odd. In the dark, with very little lights it took some effort to get here. Park at the bottom of the hill and then call the front desk for you to have a car brought down so that you can get a ride to the top. In any event, on to the food. The yellowfin crisps were a tasty appetizer. The grape and candied walnut salad was good. The Eastern scallops was tasty but not a very big portion but on par for the price. The cocktails were good as well. Rebekah was our server who did a great job. I would definitely return.
google avatar

Alexis N.

Yelp
This place has so much potential. My friend and I came on a Friday night and the place was pretty empty. We enjoyed the margarita, goat cheese crostini, risotto, and salmon. The risotto was delicious! The sauce with the salmon was served cold which threw me off. The biggest issue with this place was that an entire wedding party rented out the motel and towards the end of our dinner they completely took over the bar and were obnoxiously drunk. I really felt the management should have said something, but they were buying a lot of drinks so maybe that balanced it out for them. I would be nervous going here again that I may not be able to enjoy a quiet dinner. I'm going to stick with only visiting during lunch.
google avatar

Glenn K.

Yelp
If you want a great view and lousy food for lunch this is the place to go. Beautiful setting complete with cold pizza and cold tacos. Oh I forgot the wait! We were the only table and we had to go back into the bar twice to get a drink and the tab. When we pointed all of this out to our server we realized that we were wasting our breath. There are plenty of great places to go in Los Alamos with warm food, attentive and sincere service.

Yelp
It was Valentine's Day. My boyfriend and I were in Santa Barbara to celebrate. We were just winging the day as it went, but we realized during lunch that we needed to make a reservation for dinner somewhere if we wanted to eat out that night. He searched a very broad area online, found a few available options, and picked Norman on a whim. I am not going to lie - I was a little skeptical upon arrival when I saw the giant motel sign. Also, the motel and restaurant are located at the top of the hill while the parking lot is at the bottom of the hill, and I dreaded the thought of having to walk up and later down that hill on a chilly night. To my relief, there was a sign with the phone number for their tram. I called the number, and the tram quickly came and brought us up. I discovered that we were not at a motel - there once was a motel, but it has since been transformed into a boutique hotel with a nice restaurant. Once we were inside the restaurant, we were quickly seated and presented with the Valentine's Day menu. It was $70 per person for a 3-course meal. I had the yellowfin poke, surf 'n' turf, and white chocolate raspberry custard. He had the compressed watermelon, pork tenderloin, and bread pudding. We added the cast iron cornbread to share for an additional charge. The cornbread was too salty, but everything else was fantastic. We ended up not eating much of the cornbread, but we enjoyed everything else and were so stuffed at the end of the night. The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive. The rest of the staff was great as well. After our meal, the tram quickly came and brought us down the hill. Once I got into my car, I realized that I had forgotten my phone at the restaurant. I was partway with driving up the hill to get my phone, but our tram driver had already made it back down to meet me with it. I am not sure if Skyview Los Alamos is a good place to stay at - it looks like a cute spot. I can say though that it is a great place to dine at. The food is tasty. The staff is friendly. The service is great. The prices on a normal day are reasonable, and there is a happy hour menu. The prices for a Valentine's Day prix fixe menu were as expected. We had a lovely experience and would come here regularly if we were locals.

Yelp
We arrived late and made it in time to have couple drinks and charcuterie at this super cute 1950s style restaurant At Skyline. Tweety was our server. Very welcoming. The roasted cauliflower was scrumptious. Plan to come back in the near future. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Joyce D.

Yelp
First of all, no one tells you that there's no restaurant parking near the actual restaurant. You have to be driven by the on-site hotel staff. The food was unimpressive and pricey. The service was awful. I complained about the very undercooked new potatoes -- and the server looked at me but said nothing. Needless to say, I'm still hungry. Won't be coming back here.
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
I'm a local, and love this place! Worth the trip "up the hill," for sure! A few of my friends had said they have not had good service but that has never been my experience. Last night in particular, Zach the bartender was amazing! Attentive, funny, convivial, and really made the evening! Now they have a totally different perspective and we cannot wait to make Norman our weekly "ladies night out" - especially nice in the summertime with such epic views! The wait staff were all super friendly, too! Kudos on hiring Zach! He made for a great experience and changed minds!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
We are locals and this is where we choose, time and time again, for our date nights or special occasions! The chefs are always VERY accommodating to my vegan husband and friends, and the food has always been stellar. Ambiance? A++++++! Service? Always fantastic.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
I took my partner here for her birthday and we loved absolutely everything. The food and the drinks were phenomenal. I ordered a Mocktail that was $15 which at first I thought was ridiculous but I had to try anyways. Let me tell you... It was well worth of $15. Best drink I've ever had. The service was our favorite part though. I really wish we could remember his name. Guy with a beard, super knowledgeable and charismatic. We will be back soon.
google avatar

Vangie P.

Yelp
First time here and it's a very aesthetically pleasing place inside and outdoors. Appetizer/Dinner was good but the servings were smaller. Service was great! Definitely a great place for drinks and dessert.
google avatar

Kerri B.

Yelp
I'm always on the hunt for date night spots where I can get a real good cocktail and this place checks all the boxes. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. The corn ribs were delicious! definitely worth the try! I had the pork chop, husband had the salmon and we inhaled our food. As far as cocktails: I had a margarita and a spicy paloma, both were excellent. We sat outside, they have a lovely mellow patio that has everything and a great view: big trees with lots of shade to keep out of the heat; wind blocks and heaters for the cooler evenings. i am local so I'm actually really glad we decided to give this restaurant a try. I think the Skyview might be a great staycation one day. We look forward to returning!

Yelp
Finally got to try the restaurant at Skyview. The remodel in this place is amazing. Perched on top of a hill overlooking Los Alamos it was beautiful and felt like taking a step back into a simpler time. We started with Bloody Mary's the featured horseradish infused vodka! Delicious. From there we had Barbacoa tacos and the Bates burger. Yes so cute right, old school hotel with a Restaurant named Norman! Perfect day, great food! We had to top it off with a frose. It was refreshing, if not a little too sweet for me. All in all it was a wonderful experience. We will be back! I hope next time we can stay for the night in one of their clean and cute rooms.

M A.

Yelp
Group of four, went during restaurant week. The set menu was taken from regular one so you can enjoy it after the restaurant week ends. The shrimp and grits were excellent. Large fire-roast shrimp had perfect smoke with smooth creamy grits. The croissant bread pudding glazed sugar was nice crunchy surprise to usually wet puddings. Our server Tweety checked on us several times, knowledgeable on the food, decor, motel history. She was very engaging and we appreciated that. I've never been before but will be back. The motel is so charming and the stars at night make perfect evening stroll around the courtyard.
google avatar

Meta N.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We happened upon it while passing through Los Alamos on a short road trip, and I was craving a cocktail and needed a snack. After driving by other disappointing local spots, I saw a sign (literally) for a motel and figured, why not take a gander? I'm so glad I did. Tucked away up in the hills was this adorable little boutique motel with the best restaurant/bar in town. The staff was super friendly and greeted/seated us immediately. The bar had a decent selection of liquors and a good bartender who made us some fantastic drinks. I sampled a martini and a whiskey sour but with scotch, which I highly recommend. They had Laphroaig, which I am partial to. For a late lunch, I enjoyed sampling their fish sandwich, which was pretty tasty and came with a fresh slaw that I really liked, and their avocado toast. I will definitely be back to this little hidden gem again!

Jenna L.

Yelp
Beautiful view. Great menu and cocktails not an overwhelming list. We had Isabella as our server and she was so personable and made our experience so memorable, she even ran out our take out box we left. Definitely coming again

Jamie B.

Yelp
Great ambience. Bites by the pool & full dinner with cocktails and wine was awesome. Service was very attentive as well
google avatar

Mina M.

Yelp
We had a great stay at the hotel and we had several meals at Norman's. The food was all fresh and tasty. Love that the patio is dog friendly. The tuna was good. Mac and cheese was ok. Enjoyed the margarita and Bloody Mary for drinks. We also had breakfast here. The burrito was my fav option for breakfast.

Le D.

Yelp
Offers a nice get away when in Los Alamos. The food was really nice. The service was very good and the ambiance was okay. I did give it 3 starts but it is more like 3.25. Rounded down. What can I say.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Phenomenal ambience. Everything we ate was superb and shockingly small. An order of carrots in salsa verde was delicious but might have been two carrots. The pork was scrumptious but there wasn't a starch on the plate. A disappointing presence for vegetarians. Incredible cocktails: inventive and tasty. It was disappointing that the server reminded us multiple times that the kitchen was closing or the bar was at last call.....at 8:45. I appreciate drawing the line for late comers but when you sit at 7:30 and order multiple courses.....that felt invasive, unappreciative, and coarse.
google avatar

Cat D.

Yelp
The atmosphere and ambiance have a 5/5 for me. The food was delicious for the most part, but the chicken entree was way too salty and the breast was tiny. I can't understand how they can get away with charging $30 for it. Almost everything in this menu is overpriced, but the coziness of the restaurant made it a wonderful experience nonetheless. I would definitely go back and try the burger which looked amazing.

Joe M.

Yelp
Stopped in for first time and had an outstanding lunch experience. Food was amazing, service outstanding , the grounds around the area are beautiful aliitle hole in the wall kinda, but a must try. The GM, John Smith was great Our server, Tweety was awesome. The whole staff was great. They let us tour some the the motel rooms for future ideas to stay here and rooms were amazing. I'm definitely going back...
google avatar

Steve C.

Yelp
A unique setting high on a hill. The interior decoration is mid-century and delightful. Not an expansive menu but all the items we've tried are excellent. Especially enjoyed the Duck Confit and the Salmon. We have had the charcuterie board twice. It is very good.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly service, awesome ambiance, but overpriced food and small portions. There are far better restaurants to spend your money at, and won't leave feeling hungry.

Yelp
Really beautiful restaurant with great indoor and outdoor seating by the pool. Food is okay, drinks are good. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Yelp
I stayed at Skyview Motel for a couple of nights and exclusively ate at the Norman for my entire stay. Excellent food, fair prices and top notch service. I highly recommend their breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Yelp
Great service, good was wonderful. This place has a chic cozy vibe. Great for a date night or a dinner to catch up with friends. Highly recommend if you're passing through.

Yelp
I just realized that the play was themed after the movie, psycho and Norman Bates and I had a Norman hamburger and it was one of the best things I've ever had in my life! Great place the remodel is amazing. It's the nicest hotel around.

Yelp
After seeing the restaurant featured on The Magnolia Networks, (Re) Motel, we decided to go here on a whim and check out this quant motel/restaurant. When we pulled up, the sign said upper parking was for hotel guest only. Parking for the restaurant was in a small lot at the bottom of the property. Let me tell you, the 5-7 minute hike up the steep hill could be a little challenging for some. I would suggest someone dropping off guest at the top and then someone else (sorry dads) parking below. We found the restaurant, located at the end of the pathway that hosts most of the small, but charming motel rooms. Let me tell you, whoever designed this outdoor area, seriously did a stellar job. The whole property embodies mid century vibes perfectly! Upon entering through the black door clad with beautiful brass details, we were greeted by the hostess/waitress. Jasmin gave us the option of eating in or out by the pool. We ate indoors, the weather was a bit warm. She quickly took our order, brought our drinks and checked on us at least 3 times while we waited for our food. My husband and I ordered the chips and guacamole as an appetizer, the barbacoa tacos and hamburger with fries as the main entrees. Both our meals were pleasantly delicious, the reviews were spot on! The chips for the guacamole were freshly made, the taco meat was perfectly seasoned and served with a delicious house spicy salsa!! I expected my hamburger to be ordinary, but it was far above that, my husband agreed! We also had drinks. I had a michelada, and my husband the (fruit punch)? Let me tell you, the drinks were strong, not a bad thing if you like them with a punch! Overall, a great dining experience made amazing thanks to their attentive and friendly staff. The server, Adriane, our waitress, Jasmine, and the other waitress Debra were all very welcoming. Thanks to them, we will come back again and again. Next time, we will definitely stay the weekend and experience the pool and laid back setting this charming property has to offer. A true gem in California

Yelp
All I can say is The Norman! What a burger. Ignore the crazy prices. Great bar experience. Dined with wife while staying at the Inn. Again, ignore the prices. Killer bar and kitchen (pardon the pun!).

Yelp
For it's location in a remote town, this is a very good restaurant. Burger bun was fresh, toasted, and buttery. Burger was well-cooked and flavorful. Fries were fantastic - crispy and well seasoned. Mac and cheese was also good. Salad was a little underwhelming. Spaghetti squash entree was a nice change from standard vegetarian options.

Yelp
Friendly Service. Beautiful atmosphere. Plates on the smaller size for price point. Steak was "gamey", a taste I am not used to... Dessert item we wanted to try was"sold out" Limited parking. Sign posted says if you are not a motel guest you have to park at the bottom of the hill. This could be a deal breaker if you do not want to walk a huge hill. With so many culinary talents in los alamos, its a hard sell to visit again.
