Norman's Cafe

I had the BBQ sandwich, the meat was done nicely. I didn't care for the BBQ sauce. While It had a slight taste similar to ketchup. Pretty decent slaw, not bitter. The beef brisket was super tender. The gravy had a good flavor. My husband gives a thumbs up to the sweet tea. The deviled eggs were "surprisedly good". All the staff was friendly. I like getting the check with the meal...that really makes my day.

Best place to enjoy a chuck wagon steak sandwich. Huge sandwich. Great price. Absolutely delish. Highly recommended. Definitely get your moneys worth ! Mark Brigman took me there for the 1st time. We were repeat customers. ❣️

My husband and I were very disappointed in our food. I had a chef salad but there was no eggs, cucumbers or croutons and a very small amount of tomatoes. It did have a sufficient amount of ham though so there was that.. My husband got a grilled chicken salad, the chicken was nearly inedible, very mushy and bland. Maybe they were having an off day, it happens. On a lighter note, the staff could not have been better, very nice people.

Coming from Madison WI, we go to tons of great places to eat. This is one of the best places tucked away for some of the best food you've ever had. Great food for great prices. The service, cleanliness and quality of food is amazing. This is always our first stop when in the area!

I believe the hamburger meat was stored bought, they were not patties like they use to be these were perfect cut round thin patties,want get anymore burgers again

If I could write this place is zero Stars I would yeah I know it takes money in the world to eat at restaurants and stuff but when you go to somebody in person and ask them face-to-face hey could you help me out for me and my family not even for me before my daughter mainly and they tell us know that's a crying shame so I go to the store and I get blessed with a little bit of food missing one key ingredient and that's jelly so I'll stop back in and ask this place if they had any strawberry jelly to go home and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches she told me know which knowing they do then cusses me and tell me to leave my parking lot and I said nothing wrong but it was lighting a cigarette and leaving they are very bad and very rude up there I will need that even if I was paying knowing what I know now and I bet the food is horrible

Love this place. Just wish it had more than one bathroom. :/ Great food, terrific service, kind refills. What’s not to love?! We visit every time we are town.

I ordered a Hamburger steak plate, the steak was nasty, looked as if it was fried earlier this morning and its now 4:15... way over cooked to make it warm!!! Almost made me vomit it was disgusting!!! This is the last time we will come here!!!

This is a small town cafe with all the perks. Me and my friend came in for lunch after a long hike. We ordered cheeseburgers, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks. We devoured as much as we could fit! The service was kind and quick and the food was everything you'd expect from a small town cafe. Everyone knew the regulars and we still felt at home. If we hike out that way again we definitely will be back!

This is takeout only. This place is awesome . The food was so good. There were 7 of us . We had burgers, chicken wraps , fried pickles , fried mushrooms, chicken fingers, chicken salad. When I say everything was good. I mean everything. The service was wonderful. The ladies were so sweet. If you are in the area stop. You will not regret it. We were so hungry I took no photos lol

Food excellent, But recently turned into a take out only place with a limited menu. Staff are sweet. Hate they took seating out and cut menu.

Fish restaurant used to be a really good place to eat but now the service is extremely slow and there's not very many menu options and for what few options they have all of the food is entirely too expensive however it is very clean and the bathrooms are very clean as well but the staff is very nice however

Based on the reviews, I went off the beaten path to go to Norman's. I should have stayed on the beaten path. The service was friendly, but it took forever to get my food. The highlight of the meal was the flavor of the hot dog--it was very tasty. But things go downhill after that. The chili was good, maybe, but I couldn't really tell in the sea of wet slaw under which it was buried. Almost exactly three years ago, Yelper Sam J observed that the crinkle fries were "extremely undercooked, barely warm, and almost inedible". Evidently, this has not changed. I always finish my fries. But I couldn't. The server had touted some home made potato wedges, and I ordered some to give me more material on which to base this review. They were just thick, heavy wedges of potato with little flavor. It was essentially like eating a plain baked potato. The burger was not very flavorful. Other reviews are so high on this place. I did not have that experience today. Yet I find myself wondering if their other homemade vittles are any good. But the food today was so disappointing that I can't see a return visit. So I guess I'll never know.

We ate it so fast we didn't get pics..This cute little place was on the way to South Mountains Sate park. Take out only. The chicken biscuits were better than Chick-fil-A say my boys. The value for this home cooked goodness is unmatched these days. The ladies serving were so sweet and the most hospitable we've found in NC so far.

Great lunch specials!!! I love all the homemade soups and salads! Must try the Philly cheesesteak!! Can't beat the prices either. I am a local out here in the sticks and this is the best place to pick up a good meal.

This place is super simple but very tasty. The burger they have here (can't recall the name of it off the top of my head) is so huge that you have to cut it in two to fit it in your mouth! I left with a serious food coma (which was a good thing after a long day of fishing). Also - it might funny to mention this - but the sodas from the fountain were super tasty. Not all sodas are really. This Coke was perfect. Great service too. Once again - simple but enjoyable. Not a destination, but if you're driving through, you can't go wrong here.

great food. not the cheapest place around but still great food especially lunch specials. lunch is better than breakfast which is average. lot's of competition in the area for breakfast. service was slow I guess low on staff that day. owners are great people who help out churches and charities. very clean...very very clean. just didn't like the door slamming constantly. and cold air blowing in when it did...only reason for 4 instead of 5.

Have ate here for 20 years and it has been consistently good. Best grilled cheese and pickles I have ever had in my life. Will keep coming here for 20 more years!

Great little local place in Vale, NC with a pretty amazing burger. I'm not sure about the trials and tribulations that others had with the staff, but I don't have one bad thing to say. They were friendly, attentive and always asking if everything was "okay". The burger is BIG with Swiss Cheese, Grilled Ham, and Bacon as the main attractions other than the burger itself. It was excellent, as well as were the fries. Cleanliness was 100.0 and I had a very pleasant dining experience, which is the most important thing. They get five stars.

They have great gravy. Service is great. This is where the locals go. Breakfast lunch or dinner you can't go wrong.here is a pic of the menu.

Super friendly service, clean restaurant, and very tasty food at an affordable price. Off the beat and path but known by the locals. It is worth taking a side trip to it.

This place is a little out of the way but the service was good, place was clean and the food was exactly what you wanted. If you're on your way to hike, I suggest it.

Very Clean and super friendly! Sanitation score was 100. Had the club sandwich which was very good comes with thick slices of cooked ham and fresh tomatoes.

Stopped here with my future wife while we camped up at South Mountains State Park. It was recommended by a park ranger. It has a great small town cafe feel. Staff was very friendly. And they have 100 health food score. The food was pretty good and we'll definitely return if we camp up there again.

Normans is an excellent but small cafe not ideal for more than 4 people at a table, good food but highly priced!
