A Hidden Gem in Kenner Norma’s International Grocery and Bakery in Kenner is one of those rare finds that instantly feels like home. Tucked away yet unforgettable, this little spot is bursting with flavor, heart, and personality. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the warmest, happiest staff—truly some of the kindest people you’ll meet. Their genuine smiles and welcoming energy set the tone for a delightful visit every time. But the real magic? The baked goods. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with unmistakable love. Whether you’re picking up a flaky pastry, soft pillowy bread, or one of their irresistible sweets, you can taste the tradition and care in every bite. It’s not just food—it’s comfort wrapped in dough and sprinkled with joy. The international grocery section is also worth browsing. It’s a small but mighty selection packed with thoughtfully chosen items that offer a taste of cultures near and far. It’s the kind of place where you’ll discover something new each time—ingredients, treats, and pantry staples that turn everyday cooking into a little adventure. Norma’s is more than a bakery or grocery store. It’s a neighborhood treasure, run by people who love what they do and it shows. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll walk out with something delicious—and a smile that lasts all day.

A co worker has been bringing me these amazing guava pastries from here so when the need to order a cake arose they were my first thought. We were able to order a large tres leches cake with 48 hours notice, no issue. The food is phenomenal and the people working are incredibly kind. Would recommend them a hundred times over.

Sweet mystery of Life, at last I found You! Songs should be composed and sung about this Cuban sandwich I have just eaten, and the tres leches and flan are beyond delicious.

Last Sunday I called ahead and made sure the bakery had guava flavored King Cakes in stock. I made the much anticipated round trip from Hammond. My cake was there and the cashier bragged about how good it would be. When we finally cut the cake to savor this much anticipated flavor, WHAT A DiSAPPOINTMENT. No GUAVA.

The food is good and the supermarket products are fresh but the old lady at the register is so rude and watch her, she over charge you very fast. Look over your receipt. Be careful!!

Came here to get their famous highly rated tres leches and was very disappointed for the second time. The last time I thought it was just by chance that it tasted different/dry and not as sweet, but sadly it seems like this is the new norm. It was dull tasting then and is now. The last time I remember it being delicious was at their old location.
