NORMS Restaurant

My food tasted great and it was as I remember it when I was here last time many years ago. I tried something different than normal order than their famous pancakes on this trip. The Bahn Mi sliders were yummy! MY server Susie was amazing!!! Always with a smile with every interaction and delivered prompt service! Such an asset to the Norms company! I grew up in the area, moved away to 2 states north and occasionally return to this particular Norms Restaurant because of the customer service my family and I receive every time. It takes me back to my childhood

Susie, who was our server, was great!!! I love Norms coffee,m, and she kept our cups filled! Thank you Susie for making our eating experience a good one!!

Came on a busy Super Bowl Sunday morning. Despite the place being busy, we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server, Susie, was an absolute love as well as efficient. Kudos to the kitchen staff as well. I got the huevos rancheros and I like my eggs over medium. Most places can’t seem to figure “medium” out and they’re either runny (yuck!) or cooked hard (kinda burned). Today’s eggs were perfect. The place is a Lakewood staple and probably our favorite Norm’s. Thanks again, Susie!!

Food was delicious! Susie was our server, made us feel like extra special dining guest! She definitely took great care of us! atmosphere is busy, the sounds of food cooking, plates moving, and people chatting is nice, the sounds of a great diner and of family and friends catching up is really nice! 10/10 recommend! 👍

I've noticed new menu options and loved it. I order the Greek Chicken Salad and it was delicious. Order the Green Chilaquiles and soo good...🤤 Definitely menu changes will keep us coming. Our waitres Susie so friendly.

I been coming here for over 30 years. The food and Service fluctuates like a roller coaster. Some years are bad and some years are good. This visit I had was on Sunday 02.16.2025, right after church. I was greeted and Ordered a country style steak and a 1lb porter house steak. All came within 15 mins on a busy day. The porter house steak was delicious!! From the bread to the coffee, all tasted great. I will definitely come back again. Their customer service was excellent. Large portion size is back. Could not find anything negative about my visit. Plenty of parking in the back and across the street. A++ on my visit as current Status feedback.

It had been way too long since my last visit to Norms, but I'm so glad I stopped by, twice lol --it's great to see this place thriving! From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and accommodating. Despite being a large group, we were seated almost immediately. The service was friendly, and the team was super helpful with recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food--wow! Portions were impressively generous, the prices were budget-friendly, and everything came out tastier than expected. If you're hungry and want great value for your money, Norms definitely delivers. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of parking--a major plus! It's easy to see why this spot is a local favorite. I went into Norms without high expectations, but the food pleasantly surprised me! I had a chicken sandwich with bacon, and it was pretty delicious. Our waitress was attentive, which added to the overall positive experience. The minus one star comes from a few things, none of which were dealbreakers but worth mentioning. First, the wait time--we were told it would be 30 minutes but ended up waiting about an hour for a party of six. The bathrooms were another downside; they were quite dirty and clearly not well-maintained. Lastly, the parking lot is small, and we had to park on the street. To be fair, we came during peak rush hour (Sunday at 11 a.m.), and when we left around 1 p.m., the place was much less busy, with plenty of open seats and parking spaces. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend going outside of busy times for a better experience with seating and parking. Despite these minor issues, the food was surprisingly good and worth the trip!

Well, I say, do not go to norms after 12 AM. I. Cannot believe those Green Beans in the steak.Unbelievable, but to be expected.You have one cookback there And one Waitress The grain beans look reheated and burned on the top it off. They put my first date back on the grill after I ate off of it. Not gso I made them throw it away. Just be aware and pay attention to what they're doing.

After a long day at the dog beach, the simplicity and nostalgia of NORMS shines. Everything ordered was delicious! The staff and service were exceptional. Not too packed on a Sunday evening for the dinner hour. Highly satisfied, thank you NORMS!

This NORMS has old school decor which I absolutely love. I ordered a BLT with fries it was yummy, enough to enjoy later. Service was great food was fantastic. I will definitely recommend and return very soon...

Everyone has a tradition of going to their favorite diner, and Norms will always, always be that place that has delicious, heartwarming food as wonderful as the service no matter the time of day. I was really surprised by my most recent visit to the Lakewood location! Compliments to the chef haha Shout out to our server, he was amazing for taking care of all the tables up until we just about left and another one joined him. We came around midnight on a Sunday and the food impressed us. I was very surprised by the turkey dinner. It was juicy and tender and tasty and the helping wasn't shy at all! A thick scoop of mashed potatoes that seemed like the real thing with chunks inside and my favorite kind of traditional, simple and well seasoned stuffing. I LOVED THE ZUCCHINI, it was cooked in this garlic butter sauce that was fragrant and gave a delicious bite to the veggies! That was a very hearty meal for $15 and really made me happy. The omelette was also impressive with its fluffiness and flavor. We could taste every individual topping, the onion, ham, tomato, etc with a nice layer of cheese on top. So comforting and tasty, I really am not an omelette person but this my favorite of the night! The hashbrowns were yummy as well, crispy on the top and melted in my mouth. Delicious. Pancakes were also incredibly fluffy. They were on the thicker side but were so spongey, it was so great. I've never been so pleasantly surprised by diner food before. Once my family's tradition, and now my boyfriend and I's tradition, I really treasure places like Norms! Thank you so much for serving our community and being a safe place for everyone, with really great food. This is a socal treasure!!! (Bring back the fish and rice pilaf on the kids menu haha)

Shoutout to the server, Ruben, for the awesome service and for going above and beyond. We ordered the classic Bigger Better Breakfast with regular pancakes, and the food was phenomenal!, great comfort food. I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for phenomenal service and great food.

I don't know that anyone willfully goes to Norms. It's more a place where one winds up after a botched wedding reception, drinking binge, or gambling night. (See also: Patton Oswalt's bit about restaurants you go to versus restaurants you end up at.) I found myself at this Norms because most places not showing the Stupor Bowl were closed. Norms never closes. So I went to this outside of space and time restaurant. Because I don't have a normal human diet I ordered a waffle with strawberries & a whole side of fries with ranch. I don't see a legitimate reason to extensively unpack the acceptable ambience, or the competent service, or the palatability of the food. It's a Norms. The purpose of Norms is to be there when every other business has closed, deserted you, or 86'd you. So thank you Norms for adopting the business strategy of never closing. Note that "never closing" is not the same as "always open." Norms is less "ready to go" and more "not willing to call it a day." Thank you Norms for never giving your staff a moment of rest.

I have several Normas I frequent depending on the area I'm in because I can always count on Norms to provide a hot delicious home style cooked meal. The only difference is the servers they all are normally great but my favorite location is on Lakewood in the city of bellflower and the best server at that location is LILY when I go in I always ask for her or I look for her she is the best friendliest server

Oh I got time this morning because I HATE scams. So this is a busy location with dishonest publicity and staff who are amateur with their communication skills. Starting off with telling my mom that the wait would not be long, a couple of minutes. When 15 minutes passes, staff tells her "you're the next party it will be a minute." Another 10 minutes passes while they call small parties if 2-3. If it was explained to us that we would be seated quickly by splitting us into 2 small tables at least we'd have that option. Well, My mom gets up twice now and they give her the hand gesture "wait" (Side note: it's busy but under no circumstance should there be attitude or unpleasant presentation. Please stay out of the restaurant and hospitality industry if customer service isn't your niche) Ok. The staff should maybe be the ones to pause and wave their own hands rudely to their own faces. It's dishonest to say from the beginning the wait time for a large table of 5 would be "a minute" when it won't. Lastly, I just left from celebrating my father and father in law who are both veterans for their Veterans Day free breakfasts. Come to find out they only honor ONE breakfast per check. So you're telling me ONLY ONE VETERAN is recognized per table and is eligible to receive their once a year $9 breakfast? It's the principle. Dishonest and embarrassing to dishonor the other veterans who've served our country. Or maybe it's just THIS location that's greedy and misleading. Because I'm not sure what else to call it when Norms did not advertise that Veterans get a free breakfast, but if 2 come together only 1 is recognized and given a meal of appreciation and the other has to pay. When it came time to pay I kept offering my dad and FIL's military ID's and asked "you don't need them?" - "no. It's 1 per check" "but there's 2 veterans, they each get a breakfast" -"it's only 1" WTF *disbelief LOL. Let's ALL, particularly YOU NORMS EMPLOYEES OF BELLFLOWER do a better job of not only presenting as courteous but respecting our elderly population who's served our country. Especially if you publicize to "honor" veterans with a free breakfast. GOD I HATE WHEN OLDER PEOPLE GET SCAMMED OR TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. PS. The ONE star of saving grace was our excellent server Patricia who was incredibly sweet and kind to us during breakfasts. This location needs more employees like her to be the better representation of the restaurant. Even when I gave cash to the cashier as tip to give to Patricia she sneered back "I know." WHAT THE. Hope she has the rest of the year she deserves. Jeez.

At 7:18pm on June 6th we're leaving this Norm's. This is the 2nd time I've left here with someone I care about; who, confined to a wheelchair-- needed a small amount of special consideration. I had forgotten (or tried to) the fact that a younger guy in the wait staff treated us shabbily and with disdain. We left the previous time, and I called to let the GM know about it. Well..... he took his unprofessionalism and bad attitude out on us again. I don't know what this kid's problem is but it needs to stop. He doesn't need to be working in the service industry. Avoid at all costs.

Very affordable, fast service, good location and good food. Gotta love Norms. Ambiance is very casual and easy

Asked for well done hash browns and they bring me still raw half cooked .. not happy and didn't not eat .. Norms has definitely declined in quality over the years and in cooks .. will not be back here

I came here and was extremely disappointed in their food quality. I'm not sure if this is the norm (no pun intended) but I left feeling grossed out. First off when I ordered a coffee, the brought out the French vanilla creamer in a to go container of which you'd find ranch or a side of ketchup. In lieu of a creamer cup like 99.9% of restaurants I saw they were pumping the creamer from a coffee mate jug into these little cups. When I received my second cup of coffee that I had to ask for, the waitress did not refill my little cup of creamer or bring another. The veggie omelette I had ordered tasted horrible. It did not have any flavor and the veggies were not cooked inside. The side of fruit I had ordered had not been strained and was sitting in some type of water concoction that left me not eating the fruit that was touching. Service was also not good and this location seemed old, dirty, smelly and dingy. I would've been happier going to Dennys which isn't saying much!

Tuna melt was a big didisappointment. Not sure why our food took unusually long to be brought to our table, the restaurant was not busy.

I ate here at norms about 3-4x and it's always decent food. You get in and you get out. I would say better than dennys but similar. My parents go to a lot of different places to eat and I come along at times. Today I got the same breakfast burrito as I got last time I came to norms with my sister. I only ate a small piece of it, saved it for later. That's what's great about the portion size. It's big if you are dieting which I am because I'm working out more now but good for those hungry. I am going to heat it up later when I get hungry. Good service, the witness was tipped. The ambiance is classic old school. Something different if you wanna be in another world.

I realize Norm's is an 'economy' restaurant, but come on guys, your produce supplier is selling you raw produce and you're serving it! The cantaloupe, melon and grapes were hard, crunchy, raw on my wife's plate and mine! And this for the last three visits! I am diabetic and can't eat potatoes. So I go for fruit, but you're failing here as of late!

Classic Americana cuisine and atmosphere. Get ready to go back in time to a simpler age and great food. The place was busy and the service was exceptional. We took a first timer to see this slice of history and it did not disappoint. If it's been a while of never been, please check this gem out!

The cocktail for delivery is drastically a joke of a cup size. Their menu is not even updated. This cocktail carries carrots and lettuce? Why? With only 4 shrimps? Never ordering from here again. I was very disappointed. I called to give a complain and as usual no one answered.

We've only been there twice and we love it. The food is delicious and the staff is really friendly. It's just too cold in there so it makes you want to eat your food in a hurry and can't really enjoy it.

Can never go wrong with Norm's. Love that they're 24/7. All of their servers are nice. Service is great. Food is always good. Comes out fast, hot, and delicious. Ambiance is nice. Regular. This is one of those go-to places. Never a problem with parking.

24/7 is now rare and for many this is a necessity not a luxury and most who need this kind of restaurant can't afford $100-200 price tag and added delivery charges on top! Norm's is a welcomed institution that still provide a full meal with all the fixings and dessert at a reasonable price! Love their dinner specials! Morning to noon steak n eggs are my preffeed meal! Hope they stick around for many more years!

Always a good experience . Crowds, yes, so be patient. Good service is as good as it's gonna get there busy, so don't take it personally. The food is good and fast. The cooks/chefs are fast. I'm thankful . Thank you to all their hard work.

Had lunch with the hubby today and were served by an amazing server who I believes name is Brenda. She was super sweet, attentive, helpful with ordering and quick to tend to us. Everything we ordered was delicious 10/10 Definitely recommend and definitely returning! We ordered the the chef's appetizer platter, country fried steak breakfast, 1/2 lb New York steak and eggs with fresh fruit instead of Hashbrowns & for drinks we had the black coffee and the pomegranate specialty lemonade. Soooooo goooood!!!

Employees are fine, friendly, helpful, etc. But the prices have zoomed up very fast since I last visited prior to Covid. This time, we ordered from the seven for 7.99 menu On a separate menu, we ordered the $3.99 shrimp plate "severed with any entree." Well, I guess the entree we picked wasn't considered an entree, because we were told we can't get the shrimp. Our entree was okay, digestible, that's about all I can say. Didn't raise a fuss but I wonder, either "any entree" means any entree or it doesn't. Which one is it? Norm's still owes me a $3.99 shrimp order. Hello Dennys.

10/06/23- Friday This place is very special to me! Great customer service. Parking lot is pretty big!!!

I've been coming to this Norms for over 40 years and I like coming for dinner since the crowd is much reduced compared to breakfast. The service is almost always excellent as well. But recently I had the worst food quality experience there I have ever had. My wife ordered the full salmon dinner and her fish was dry and crumbly. It came with soup and salad and though her soup was great, which it always is, her salad was a jumble of odd sized broken lettuce leaves and stems some of which were brown around the edges. They used to serve salads of appetizing mixed greens at this location but that got axed, probably as a budget reduction. What she got looked terrible. I got the 8 ounce New York steak plate ordered medium rare. It came out tough and close to well done., although I don't know how they could have possible cooked it medium rare since it wasn't even a half inch thick. It was also grisly and had a lot of fat along the edge. The mixed cauliflower and vegetables it came with ranged in size from a giant piece of cauliflower to a bunch of vegetable confetti sitting in broth on the bottom of the plate. The onion rings side was excellent. I realize that this was a $15.00 steak special, but it was worth far less than even that.

2/22/22 I'm gonna be honest off the bat that the reason hubby & I visited is to take advantage of the 2 meals for $22.22. Overall, not a bad deal considering the prices for meals these days. If you order 2 combo meals at Jack in the Box, it rings up about $25 easily. We're seated right away as we walked in & I was half expecting it to be packed at about 8 pm for dinner. Our server was pleasant & kindly with a unique name, Tahjae. We each ordered the T-bone Steak (mine) & hubby got the Blackened Salmon. He opted for fries & added a gumbo soup for $2.22, while I went with french fries. His gumbo arrived shortly $ it was piping hot, hit the spot, he said. Not long after our dinner arrived just as he finished his soup. My T-bone was cooked as ordered, perfect medium rare, hot & paired well with . seasoned fries. The steak was delicious & flavorful, tender & seasoned well also, although on the thin side. His salmon was tasty he said but a little bit more over done. It's not award winning but it fit the bill. For a chain store it rates about average. My husband said that it's not going to the kind of restaurant that will be our go to to vidit regular but we thought we'd give it a go nonetheless. There's ample parking and we paid via scan that was convenient. Service was good, Tahjae checked up on us about 3-4 times. Thanks Norms! If it makes any difference, they serve Pepsi products not Coke (Hubby was not happy:((

I don't usually leave reviews, but I had a disappointing experience at this Norms. This review is specifically for the Lakewood location. We were in town for an event, and it was late, so we decided to stop by. When we walked in, no one greeted us. The cashier/hostess simply grunted that there would be a wait, even though multiple seats were available. We waited for 20 minutes as other people left, but no one acknowledged us. The atmosphere felt hostile, almost as if they wanted us to wait all night. Frustrated, we drove to the Torrance Norms instead, where we were greeted and seated immediately. I guess we just weren't welcome at Lakewood--it felt like we were invisible.

I love coming here because Azeb is always so amazing, fast and nice! I hope management knows how amazing she is.

Food was just ok, service was non-existent. Maybe it was where we were sat but for the money I spent, going somewhere else is probably a better choice.

My wife and I have been going to this Norms for years. Our last couple times there has been horrible. We always get a waited by a young lady named Brenda. She always serves everyone else before serving us. I understand that it gets busy but our food is always undercooked and cold. The cooks are horrible. When we return food because of issues, it comes back worse than it was before. I do not recommend anyone go to this Norms and especially don't take Brenda as a waiter. She is the young lady with heavy makeup.

So at first the hostess made me want to walk out. She definitely wasn't using her best judgement when it came to seating us or customer service. But then this lovely woman walks up and corrects what was wronged. And we were blessed to be served by her. Tahjae was amazing! She has patience and personality! Never made it seem like we were bothering her! I hope they give her a stronger roll and earlier hours. Because this is the first time I have gotten this good of service there! Lucky for me we went late today. For a family night out. And thanks to her it went off without a hitch! (Waitress that covered her while she went on break wasn't to swell) But when I expensed that to Tahjae as well she handled it lime a champ! Cleanliness can be worked on especially for the restrooms!

Best pancakes in town . Shared my husbands . I ordered toast, poached eggs and side of avacado . Their avacado was good size and delicious. Great bargain price breakfasts . Served by Felita, Excellent service .

Absolutely by far the best Norms we've been to. We were craving patty melts and stopped by the Lakewood Blvd location. The food was great and the service was outstanding. Nicest staff around. Keep up the great work.

Maria provided the worst service today. I live just across the street, we're here often. But today was absolutely horrible. Maria, our waitress, was distracted and while taking our orders on the last person she walks away with no explanation and leaves for 2 minutes or so then comes back with no explanation like nothing happened. We asked for 3 waters she brought 1 then 5+ minutes later appeared with 2 more. No communication whatsoever letting us know she'll be back with more. We had to ask other employees walking around for napkins and the bill. The food was decent at least.

I was down in the Lakewood area on 11/07/22 and stopped into Norm's around 10 PM. The restaurant was moderately busy but I was greeted and seated promptly. I ordered the classic Bacon omelette and my usual Iced Tea. The omelette was wonderful and my iced tea was constantly refilled. Norm's Lakewood was very very clean and more cleaning was being done while i was there. They also have a large Men's restroom which also was very clean. Late night dining has become. increasingly rare since the pandemic. Norm's hours vary by location, but they are open late.

BoysNGirls, gather round. . . This is a classic 70's diner. Do all Norm's have the wrap around counter? This one, also. Great atmosphere; everybody's coming and going. Microphone so you hear your name, loud & clear when seat's ready. Friendly hostess, server comes right away. Fresh coffee, no flavored cream but the BEST salsa!! My goodness! Food came on time, hot, ready to dine. Two people ~ eggs, veggie omelette, coffee, OJ, waffle: $47.00!!! No joke! Lol Got AAA discount lowered bill by $7. What am I missing?! This is the, what, $5.99 breakfast? (Tues@10:30). Pay attention to your check. There is NOmore cheap fast food.

I was surprised that there was a wait for tables on a Wednesday around 10:30 but the staff was so quick and efficient we were seated soon after. Everyone is working hard here and very friendly. We had Ruben serve us who is one of the best servers I've ever encountered at any establishment. We were impressed by his great attitude and attentiveness on such a busy morning. Just wanted to write this review as a thank you to him! I haven't been to this restaurant in over 25 years and was visiting for sentimental purposes - I am happy to see Norm's doing well!

I had a $5.99 breakfast burrito this evening.. It was exible but not great. At first, it seemed better than the very first one of these I had a few days ago when the potatoes were undercooked. I thought these potatoes tonight were not AS undercooked, so I kept eating it. I'd eaten a little over half (definitely not all that much more, over half but U'd say less tham 2/3) of it when I realized that I just wasn't enjoying it the way I should, that this burrito actually was just about as bad as that very dirst one (which at the time I ate all of and just complained afterward and paid as normal) I decided it was time to say something. I stopped eating this one at the time and spoke with the person in charge, who basically said I ate most of it, so she could give me a discount but could not take back and remake the burrito. She ended up giving me $1 off that $5.99, about a 17% discount. To me, that was about like saying, "I don't believe you really disliked the burrito; I think you lied in order to get something free, but to look like I'm taking you seriously, I'm giving you this token duscount." A restaurant that actually believes in solid customer service and in treating their customers well would give the customer the benefit of the doubt in a case like this, either a much more significant discount (at the very least!) or replacement of the burrito even if MORE than what I had eaten was eaten.. Apparently at least this management person does not believe in such solid customer service. After that, when I knew this was all I would get, I did finish the burrito. Like I said, it was edible, just not great. This is an ok place to eat and get some bargains, and a lot of the food is fine, but this would definitely not be even close to my first choice to dine on a joyous occasion or any other time when I want to know I can count on solid customer service attitude and treatment rather than being looked at like I was a ripoff artist when I wasn't.

Downloading the app, I received a promo for a free Norms Classic Cheeseburger w/ fries. Knowing Norms currently has free delivery on online orders (no minimum), I was eager to redeem my free cheeseburger via contactless delivery. Placing my order Monday 4/26, the ETA was 4:25pm. Unfortunately, I didn't receive my order until 4:55pm, thirty minutes past the ETA. The Norms Classic Cheeseburger was cold, the fries soggy. I called the restaurant to complain, in which the employee on the phone put me on hold. I was then directed to Erin, who took my complaint, making sure I gave the order no., my name & wireless number. It's now Saturday 5/1, and I haven't heard anything back. Suffice to say, I'm not happy with the Bellflower Norms' customer service, or lack thereof. I don't recommend patronizing the Norms in Bellflower.

It is the color of beer, as though Norm from Cheers was the painter of this interior too. Evelyn, our waitress, was ok yet did not bring out everything together. The food was adequate as though one slapped together a dinner at home after a long day at work. As we left at nine this evening, an impressive number of customers arrived. College looking kids, families with kids, a nice assortment of people piling in. Is that normal for a late Sunday evening? Perhaps the very competent and helpful manager had a favorable reputation in the area. She deserves it.

Worst breakfaat i ever had !!! Even the syrup was not even a maple syrup it was straight carro syrup watered down hot sauce nasty bacon whole quailty of food was horrible
