22 Best Restaurants in Buenos Aires | Condé Nast Traveler

"If you walk into Norte at around 9 p.m., prime dinner time, expect a packed restaurant of locals eating the same comfort foods they've devoured for more than four decades. Fútbol memorabilia and signs of the various dishes cover the walls, and so does a chalkboard that displays anything from the daily specials, to a drawing of the "flan mixto," to a quote by Ferran Adrià. This is as traditional Argentine cuisine as you're going to get. The novel-like menu includes a long list of Porteño favorites, spanning Argentina, Spain, and Italy. Two pages are dedicated to pasta, especially the sorrentinos , a bigger and rounder version of ravioli. Other house specialties include Spanish omelet, revuelto gramajo (eggs, peas, ham and fried potatoes), and the milanesa con puré, a standard classic of veal or chicken schnitzel served with mashed potatoes. In the mood for steak? Norte also offers an entire parrilla barbecue menu, too." - Allie Lazar

This is a very classic Argentinian restaurant with traditional cuisine. The food is tasty but simple. If you are looking for an authentic experience - go for sure but be ready to wait outside for your place at the table: it’s very popular!

I find that, generally, if a waiter stops you from ordering too much food, the place is legit. Came in right at opening with a party of 2. Our waiter was so kind and joyous. We ordered the langostine cocktail, bife de chorizo, centro entrana (which we thought was pork, thanks google translate), salted chard, and a Russian salad. The meat was good, a little tough, but had good flavor. Everything else was really good. The vibes were incredible and the price was very reasonable. This place is a must if you’re looking a neighborhood spot. Would definitely come back when I’m in BA. For 2, I would order 1 meat and a bunch of sides to try out local food.

Local joint with old seasoned waiters who know their menu very well. Gave us great recommendations. Portions are large. Price is great. Don’t expect sophisticated presentation or cutlery.

FANTASTIC place! The food was very good, just like a home cooked meal. It's probably one of the best steaks I've enjoyed since arriving in Buenos Aires. Price is affordable/reasonable. Service was good. Very cozy, friendly

Very local place serving delicious food. If you're in Buenos Aires, you really need to eat here. The service is on point, food and wine amazing, prices reasonable.

My favourite restaurant in the area. Huge portions of very traditional dishes. Never disappoints.

Google
Fantastic food at amazing prices. Keep in mind that the meals here are platter sized - one large dish meant to be split between two or more people. The staff are very friendly even with foreigners who hardly speak Spanish, and they seem to appreciate when tourists attempt to speak Spanish with them when ordering. The food sometimes takes a while get to your table, but the quality of the food is definitely worth the wait. My one complaint is that the lighting that they use is rather harsh, bright white LEDs, which is just not pleasant once it’s dark outside. The atmosphere of the dining area could really benefit from a more warm hue.
