Absolutely wonderful place to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. The steak tartar and bone marrow were exceptional; I had these two starters w/a delicious Caesar salad. My husband had a perfectly cooked filet w/crabmeat & asparagus. Our waiter was perfect - attentive and so kind. We'll be back.

If you like a good steak (and who doesn’t?) definitely check out North Center Prime. We shared the Porterhouse and had creamed spinach and asparagus sides. The Porterhouse was cooked perfectly, and was fabulous. We ordered a diver scallop and herb butter to go with the steak, and both were delicious. Cheesecake for dessert was tasty. Service was great, too. We will definitely be back 😊

A phenomenal dining experience at North Center Prime!! From the moment my wife and walked in, it was clear North Center Prime is more than just a steakhouse. It’s where exceptional food, an inviting atmosphere, and top-tier service come together to create something truly memorable. The Food: We began with the Roasted Bone Marrow, which was rich and luxurious, paired perfectly with toasted sourdough and a bright herb salad that cut through the richness beautifully. The Shrimp DeJonghe was just as impressive, with plump shrimp in a decadent garlic-herb butter that we couldn’t get enough of. Then came the highlight of the evening: the Bone Ribeye. This 28 oz cut was a true showstopper, deeply flavorful, perfectly marbled, expertly cooked, and so tender it practically melted in our mouths. Paired with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes finished with bone marrow butter and fresh chives, it was an absolute dream. To Finish: We ended the meal with the Basque Cheesecake, which was stunning in both presentation and taste. Lightly caramelized on top, perfectly creamy inside, and served with fresh berries that added a bright, juicy contrast. The finishing touch of whipped cream and a sprig of mint made each bite feel extra special. Ambiance & Service: The setting was elegant yet relaxed, making it perfect for a special night out. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu, guiding us through selections that made the entire experience even better. Final Impressions: North Center Prime delivered one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. Whether you’re a steak lover or simply someone who appreciates outstanding food and service, this place is a must. Come hungry, savor every bite, and prepare to leave absolutely impressed.

I had a wonderful dinner at North Center Prime. The filet mignon steak was cooked perfectly. Tender, flavorful, and paired nicely with the fresh Caesar salad. The truffle potato gratin was creamy and cheesy with a great golden crust, and the asparagus was cooked just right with a nice char that gave it great flavor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was attentive throughout the night. Everything came out beautifully prepared and well-balanced, making it an all-around great dining experience. I’d definitely recommend North Center Prime for anyone looking for a quality steakhouse meal in the area.

Google
Just what the neighborhood needs. Great meat, huge portions, amazing sides. My first time tasting BONE MARROW… parking easy and cheap ($5 on a Saturday night for 2 hours), I left the place more than stuffed. Will come back

Google
My wife and I were blown away by North Center Prime. I would put this up against any of the well known steakhouses in Chicago. And the best part? It’s in North Center - a 10 min walk. The service was top notch. The appetizers were delicious. (Crab cake, foie gras, and bone marrow.) The salad comes pre split up for the table (signature greens.) The snake river farms Wagyu was the best thing we had. Cooked to perfection, with a perfect sear. And for sides, we did the balsamic brussel sprouts cooked in bacon along with truffle au gratin potatoes. The desserts all look delightful, but we went with the carrot cake. Would order again. We are so excited for North Center Prime. Congratulations to Simon and his team. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Just a couple of weeks ago, we experienced the soft opening of the new steakhouse restaurant in town, and it was absolutely amazing! We started with bone marrow as an appetizer—so rich and flavorful—paired with lobster bisque soup… so so good!!!!!! We also had their shrimp appetizer, and perfectly cut steaks for dinner. They were full of flavor and so tasty, I already can’t wait to go back. This spot is a MUST VISIT!!!! Love the ambiance, food, presentation, and all!!

Google
The food was amazing, but the service was even better! We ordered a few appetizers and the 38oz Porterhouse and all were great. It felt like the entire staff was waiting on you.

Yelp
What a great evening. Jose was just delightful. The atmosphere is great and the food was over the top for a neighborhood restaurant. Expect to pay for great food but it is worth it. Fantastic Old Fashions. Steaks perfectly cooked. Baked Potatoes the size of a football. Best Crème Brûlée ever. Go. It's worth it.

Yelp
Solid but lots of room for growth. Website needs improvement. Expecting more in 2025. No espresso in the espresso martini. In fact no coffee at all for desert because the machine was down. Completely unprepared for children. You are in a family neighborhood. This was below expectations. Worst of all, my mom ordered the lamb, and this woman loves her some good lamb. Said it was old and not good. Service was good, but it took forever to get food. There weren't even that many people there. I wanted to like this place, but too many strikes for the cost. Lots of opportunity to improve in many areas.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at North Center Prime! We ordered the carpaccio, filet with crabmeat Oscar enhancement, picanha, mashed potatoes and mushrooms as sides. Everything was very good and our meat was cooked perfectly. I like a rare steak and was impressed by the sear my filet still had, but the mashed potatoes and crabmeat really stole the show. We had no complaints and the service was wonderful as well.

Yelp
Went with my partner for date night. Place is new and just got their liquor license according to the server. Staff is friendly and nice. You can tell this place is new and small things need to be worked out. We order the oysters Rockefeller they were good. We split a bone in ribeye. The one thing I will say, this was a great value in my opinion, not sure if this is for every ribeye cut but, it was a thick cut and half the bone, which if you go to steak house, the bone is half the weight of the ribeye. Steak it self was delicious perfectly seasoned with a good crust. We got the lobster mac and cheese and the truffle potato's, both were very good, personally we think it lacked a little salt but, that's a good thing. For the most part place has potential, are they new yes, are there small flaws that they need to fix, also yes but, I see the potential and it being a good local steakhouse.

Yelp
I live in the neighborhood and was feeling cautious about dining here since it's a steakhouse and I would be paying comparatively up for a relative unknown establishment and relative to other local establishments. I can say my entire meal was really good! First the menu is compelling, we had a hard time deciding. Crab cake or shrimp dejonghe or oysters Rockefeller, wedge salad, chilean seabass, NY strip, bone in ribeye and so on. We ordered the crab cake, beet salad, wild mushrooms, lobster mac and cheese, and the signature NCP ribeye. Everything was delicious, and while the lobster mac could have used some more pieces of lobster, no substantive criticism otherwise. The wait to order our entrees was a little longer than standard as they seemed a little short, but our server was good, we were enjoying our apps and decided when eating such good food, dining at a leisurely pace added to luxurious experience. Nice job!

Yelp
On a Friday night, only a handful of tables were occupied and no one was at the bar. The space lacks any ambience, just a big open space. The music was depressing, old-timey schlock. The service was attentive, almost too much so since they had no one else to wait on. The menu was uninspired. The food was fine, not amazing. Definitely not worth it at these prices ($65 for a rib eye). Spend a bit more and go downtown for a proper steakhouse experience.

Yelp
Service was first rate. Best steak I've ever had. The herb butter put on my steak over the top! The mashed potatoes were delicious and decadent with ample about to share for our table of four. The broccolini was fresh, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was an ample amount of bread with a delicious sea salt and cracked pepper butter. The breads would have been perfect if they had been warm. Bar staff did a good job on the mixed adult beverages, too. Perfect place for a celebration!

Yelp
We had an excellent neighborhood experience dining at North center prime. The waitstaff were lovely. The room was casual while maintaining the white tablecloth vibe. The dinner started with warm bread and amazingly good butter. The strawberry goat cheese salad was delicious. Our streaks were perfectly cooked. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The loaded baked potato was disappointing, it was served smashed-not sure why and undercooked. Lots of other options I wish we had tried. BYOB ending soon be sure to call and ask when you make your reservation. We will be back!

Yelp
I had the wedge salad, filet mignon, truffle au gratin potatoes, and key lime pie. All of the food was good. The steak and mushrooms should have been hotter. The potatoes were outstanding. The key lime should have been a bit more tart. Service was good

Yelp
Food is average at best, especially for the price point. For being a newly opened restaurant, the space is oddly worn and dingy especially the washroom. It's a weird vibe in the place in general. They messed up my order, didn't fix it and still charged me. Service was ok.

Yelp
I tried to give this feedback privately by sending two direct messages to the restaurant, but unfortunately, I never received a response--which has been just as disappointing as the meal itself. I took my boyfriend out for an early Father's Day dinner and we were excited to try a new steakhouse in the neighborhood, especially one outside of River North. We had a 7 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly. Bread was brought quickly, but the butter was oddly textured--almost as if it had been left in a hot kitchen too long and then put back in the fridge--and there were no butter knives. We chalked it up to new-restaurant kinks. We ordered several appetizers. The escargot was warm but not hot, and the small puff pastry on top made it hard to eat. The steak tartare was overpowered by arugula and lacked basic seasoning like salt and pepper, which wasn't on the table. The Caesar salad was good, but we had asked for it to be split and instead had to request extra plates. The oysters were the highlight of the starters. We finished the apps fairly quickly, but then waited over 30 minutes for the 28oz ribeye. After my boyfriend asked, the server said the kitchen was backed up. It arrived about five minutes later--uncut and with no plates. We asked for it to be sliced in the kitchen and turned to the sides: potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Without getting into detail, they were completely inedible and we sent them back. The steak returned, sliced, and was a real disappointment. It was a poor cut, with more than half of it just fat. There were maybe three or four edible pieces total. By that point, we skipped dessert and just wanted to leave. We genuinely wanted to enjoy this meal and support a new local spot, and I had hoped to offer this feedback directly. But since my messages went unanswered, I'm sharing it here in hopes that the restaurant takes it seriously and makes improvements. We'd love to see a great steakhouse thrive in the neighborhood--this just wasn't it, at least not yet.

Yelp
We stopped in for dinner for the first time last night. Awesome menu and fantastic food. And the staff were attentive and incredibly friendly. What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! (Heads up -- the restaurant is BYOB for time being).

Yelp
Went in for a light dinner. Had the signature greens, escargot and salmon. The salad was very good, well balanced. The escargot was delicious and very flavorful. The salmon was incredible, perfectly cooked and a beautiful presentation. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
So glad to have a great steak and chophouse in the neighborhood!l. Every dish was excellent and the service was stellar. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
We were impressed with both the meal and the service. Very glad to see a new restaurant in the former Rocks space. We had the lobster bisque, wedge salad, porterhouse steak, mashed potatoes and asparagus and everything was excellent. The chocolate cake was huge and we brought some home. A great addition to the neighborhood and BYOB allowed us to bring a bottle of wine with no corking fee.

Yelp
Went here the day before July 4 and unfortunately did not have a good experience. The food was expensive and not great- a store bought Caesar salad looked better. We ordered our steak medium and it came back medium rare, when they took it back they just burnt the outside and the inside was still rare. We didn't eat it and they still charged us for it.

Parul D.

Yelp
The food is classic steakhouse which I love. They have everything on the menu from oysters, soups, steak, seafood and delicious desserts! They are very new but service was good, particularly the owner, who was very attentive. The space large with tables nicely spaced out. The prices are very reasonable for a steakhouse without missing the quality. It is BYOB for now, so check it out soon if you really want to enjoy a steakhouse night but the not price. I would come back once they get their liquor license. It is nice to have something like this in the neighborhood.

Yelp
This restaurant is an amazing experience from the loft-style look of the dining area to the food itself. I have been lucky enough to dine at the very best restaurants in this country and this place is second to none in every category. The wait-staff was beyond incredible. The food? Best in the city and something tells me that is only the beginning. Do yourself a favor and go!

Ed M.

Yelp
Ordered steaks and several appetizers. All excellent. Attentive service. One thing to be aware of is the restaurant is BYOB for now.
