Yelp
TL;DR - While I can't say the tacos were mind-blowing, they are solid in their own right. Great for a lunchtime grab, though I warn you: grab a fork if you're buying the beef Barbacoa. About six bucks per is expensive, but you get a good taco in exchange.
So, I was talking to who I assume is the owner or one of the owners. She told me that her husband is from Mexico, and the recipes are his. With that, points for authenticity!
Also, this location is significantly better than the food truck (a delightful surprise).
I ordered a Baja Fish and a Beef Barbacoa taco. In both cases, the meat was hot, fresh, and tasty. The Barbacoa had some of those fatty bits you'd find in brisket and excellent moisture. Meanwhile, the fish was tender and had a little oomph. Adding guacamole & onion for the beef and adding slaw & chipotle dressing for the fish was fantastic. They helped add some freshness and accent the savory flavors of the protein.
One critique: the Barbacoa tacos tortilla fell apart almost immediately. Quickly making this one into something requiring utensils.
I can acknowledge that six bucks each is rather steep. Considering the area and inflation, it's okay. However, forking over six dollars for a taco still gives me a bit of sticker shock. I will give them credit for not skimping on the meat; if I'm paying six dollars per, I'd like to have more than a teaspoon, and you certainly get a fair amount.
