Google
Atrocious experience. Ordered online, waited for a text to say our order was ready and finally went up to check after 20 minutes only to be told “the machine was down” so our order hadn’t come through. Employee had to pull the tickets manually from the POS system to get our order details, and somehow we still ended up with a slew of missing ingredients (and paid for) from the burritos we ordered. We were so hungry after another 20 minutes of back and forth that we just gave up and ate, at which point the food was cold. I’d have been more forgiving if it tasted good after all that but the avocado fries were microwaved, the rice was bland, and the carnitas had no flavor. Stay far, far away from this place.

Google
Avoid this place. I waited 40 mins for two tacos on a weekday, there was one person working in the kitchen ignoring the line of customers, and no other staff to take orders or speak to anyone. Food finally came out with no text notification after 40 mins, and it was cold. Avocado taco was absolutely inedible, cold and covered in cheap “queso”

This place is in high street food hall. It’s hard to believe that some people rated it so low. I came to Boston, went to the food hall and had tacos from here. They were so good i walked from the marriott wharf the very next day to get some more. I was so excited i took a bite before i took a picture of the food. I would recommend trying your self. The flavor was good. The employee was friendly and helpful. There’s a lot of seating in the food hall. I walked the second day with my food and ate it while i waked. lol 😂 the tacos are a little pricy and that’s why i gave it a 4 instead of 5 but I imagine it cost a lot to be in that location.

Google
The Tour of Mexico is the best, also I love their taco bowls. They are always so friendly!

On December 13th, at 3:15 pm, I had an exceptional experience at the Northeast of the Border Mexican truck located at Snowport Market. I ordered the Carne Asada bowl, and it was a taste of Mexico right here in the Northeast. Being from San Antonio, I have high standards for Carne Asada, and this dish exceeded my expectations. The flavors were authentic, and the meat practically melted in my mouth. What truly stood out was the efficiency and speed of service. Jose, who assisted us, was not only quick but also incredibly patient. His dedication to providing a positive experience made the visit memorable. Northeast of the Border is a gem for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors in the Northeast.

Google
Good burritos, quality fresh ingredients, lots of staff during lunch rush.

Google
Terrible experience all around from them not seeing my order, no apologies, gross employee picking her teeth, missing items from the order, food was just barely okay, and found a hair in my burrito. We were a large group that ordered from 4 different restaurants in the food hall and this was the only one with issues.

Larrisha C.

Google
Service was not good the young lady seems to always have a not so welcoming demeanor, found hair in my sour cream plus in my quesadillas but I already left the location so wasn’t going to walk all the way back to the restaurant. I would never eat there again let alone suggest anyone to eat there.

Yelp
We stopped by this food truck while visiting Snowport and got a variety of items among our group: chicken, pork, avocado, and beef tacos, a quesadilla, and a burrito. They were all bland in flavor and above average in price. There are plenty of great fast casual taquerias around Boston, and sadly this is not one of them.

Yelp
Stopped in town for the seaport winter festival and spotted this truck. I had a barbacoa taco and my partner opted for a burrito (not pictured) that he finished immediately. He said it was one of the best burritos he's had and my taco was delicious! Service was super friendly, especially for a cold rainy day!

Yelp
Located conveniently at the Burlington Mall , You'll most definitely get your taco fix at North East of the boarder. These tacos are stuffed with flavorful meat. I bought 3 thinking these tacos would be your traditional small in size street tacos but I was wrong. I was so full I barely could finish my second taco !

Yelp
TL;DR - While I can't say the tacos were mind-blowing, they are solid in their own right. Great for a lunchtime grab, though I warn you: grab a fork if you're buying the beef Barbacoa. About six bucks per is expensive, but you get a good taco in exchange. So, I was talking to who I assume is the owner or one of the owners. She told me that her husband is from Mexico, and the recipes are his. With that, points for authenticity! Also, this location is significantly better than the food truck (a delightful surprise). I ordered a Baja Fish and a Beef Barbacoa taco. In both cases, the meat was hot, fresh, and tasty. The Barbacoa had some of those fatty bits you'd find in brisket and excellent moisture. Meanwhile, the fish was tender and had a little oomph. Adding guacamole & onion for the beef and adding slaw & chipotle dressing for the fish was fantastic. They helped add some freshness and accent the savory flavors of the protein. One critique: the Barbacoa tacos tortilla fell apart almost immediately. Quickly making this one into something requiring utensils. I can acknowledge that six bucks each is rather steep. Considering the area and inflation, it's okay. However, forking over six dollars for a taco still gives me a bit of sticker shock. I will give them credit for not skimping on the meat; if I'm paying six dollars per, I'd like to have more than a teaspoon, and you certainly get a fair amount.

Yelp
Most disappointing Mexican food I've had in a long time. To start with, service here is awful. It's hard to get their attention to place an order, and when you do, you feel like you're bothering them. Better hope you don't need anything additional once you get your food (you'll be greeted with an even bigger attitude). I ordered the barbacoa beef taco, carne asada taco, chicken tinga taco, and pork carnitas taco. The tacos were SOAKING wet in the container they gave me (both flour and corn soft shells). The flavor combinations did not work, and there was absolutely no seasoning on any of the tacos. Some of the most bland things I've ever eaten. I even tried to fix the tacos myself- I went back and requested new soft shells to rewrap them, thinking a dry shell (instead of a water-logged one) would help the taste; but it didn't. The tacos were so terrible (and inedible) that I ended up throwing them in the trash and getting food elsewhere. Waste of money, time, and calories.

Yelp
North East of the Border opened up a physical location in the Burlington Mall food court. Their taco truck is very popular in the Metro Boston area! I stopped by the Burlington location recently during a shopping trip. I ordered the #2 Combo, Any 3 Tacos, side of rice & beans, and a Small drink for $12.99 plus tax. The tacos ala carte are $4 each and tortas $8 each. I chose the Carnitas, Chicken Tinga, and Battered Fish Tacos, all double soft tortilla wrapped and filled with good amounts of fillings. The small sides of rice and refried beans came in crunchy fried tortilla shells. The drink choices here were Pepsi fountain drinks, iced tea, fruit juices, and horchata. The tacos here were fantastic with the soft juicy pork and chicken and crispy battered fish. This place is now my favorite spot in the food court!

Katherine A.

Yelp
The beef tacos were amazing. There was a nice heat to it, not crazy spicy, that you cant eat. And the beed quesadilla so flavorful. Cant wait to come back! Real mexican taste!

Jacquelyn B.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, authentic Mexican food! Definitely not just mall food ... worth making a trip just to eat there!
google avatar

Sarah D.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised with this place. The best food for the quality I've ever gotten at a food court establishment. I ordered 3 tacos and chips and salsa. My order came out very fast, probably within 5 minutes of ordering. The meat in the tacos was SO tender and juicy, and they stuff each one with ingredients. The chips and salsa were also good for only being $3. Sometimes, they offer samples out near the register. The staff is very helpful and sweet. Highly recommend if you're craving fast Mexican food!

Yelp
Don't leave your credit card transaction incomplete. Review for the food truck, with those credit card iPads. Literally saw a customer pay for their tacos, walk away, and the employee tipped themselves 22% and signed on behalf of the customer on the iPad. Questionable and unethical behavior I would love to blame witnessing that incident on why my tacos were not enjoyable, but they overall weren't good tacos. Fillings were super plain, no spice. At least they double up on the corn tortilla ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Chanel C.

Yelp
Ordered a chicken quesadilla. It was soggy. Also ordered chips and guacamole. The chips were ridiculously stale. I probably won't be back
google avatar

Yelp
Good tacos great price in the food court. Steak is my favorite. Love that spicy mayo sauce too.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
I popped in here for a burrito since most of the Burlington chains have phased out. $12 got me a solid burrito- good size, good burrito shape, nice mix of fillings. The guy offered me some hot sauce from the cooler squeeze bottle, and it had boom and the taste of ghost peppers. All in all, probably the best deal for a filling meal in the food court. Recommended!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Sorry, but I have to agree with some of the recent negative reviews. The fish in the fish taco was not light and crispy - there is no way this was fried to order as it was chewy and tough like it was under a heat lamp for 2 hours. Multiple (2) small bites of fish with lots of breading without the flaky tasty fish I was craving. No dressing on the slaw, just dry cabbage with sauce added on top. No tomato, picked veggie, or acid of any kind. The barbacoa taco was more flavorful, but still really boring. I was longing for some smoky salsa, a fresh crunch, or something to add interest. To make matters worse, at $5 per taco with no rice or beans or chips or anything on the side, I left really disappointed (and still hungry).

Yelp
Horrible experience. Got the pork torta and got dry meat between two badly burnt bread Inedible

Kristine M.

Yelp
I'm gluten intolerant and I have to say I just had a wonderful experience. The owner? Worker? Manager? Was super friendly and took his time to check ingredients. He changed his gloves and made me a fabulous burrito bowl that was huge. 5 stars
google avatar

T A.

Yelp
I would rate this less than a star if I could. Got the variety of tacos and they were all inedible. It tasted like the meat was bad. I'm one to finish all my food regardless of how and it is, but this tasted unhealthily bad. It amazes me this place is still in business. Maybe it was because we came at 6 on a Friday night ? No idea.

Yelp
A solid bunch of street tacos. I've tried all of the tacos over the last two years or so. All are amazing. My go-to is the Baja fish taco, the fried fish. Good fresh fish, almost fried to order, with a great chipotle sauce. Service can get slow (but not horrible) when they get busy. It is always super fast if I go before or after the rush. The people working the truck have always been great. Even on bad days they are at least professional. Usually I can walk away with two tacos for about 8 bucks. They do also have guacamole, salsa, and chips as sides for extra. Both are pretty good. This is one of the very good taco trucks in the area.

Yelp
The worker was one of the nicest people i've ever met. he cut me a deal because i was low on money. this guy deserves the world!
google avatar

Guli K.

Yelp
Read as 3.5 stars: Their baja fish tacos come with a generous serving of fish for 4.50 a piece, topped off with shredded cabbage and an aioli. I do feel that they can make slight modifications to really get the flavor going (add guac or pico de gallo). Service was quick and friendly.

Kristal G.

Yelp
I found a piece of hair. White hair in my food totally disappointed first time trying them
google avatar

Patrick G.

Yelp
Only had 5 available taco options right when they opened, and their menu lists many more options. They didn't have chips and guac, or any other appetizer options that they showed. They also had no prices listed, and gave me back the wrong change. The tacos were okay, but I got four "different" ones. They all were pretty spicy with the same toppings. The only thing that was different were the proteins. Overpriced and underwhelming.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
This was pretty disappointing honestly. I found both to be too heavy and having a low flavor profile. Overall quite bland and tasteless.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
What a find! I've been a few times and it hasn't disappointed. Great burritos and great service!

Yanesza R.

Yelp
This place is genuinely amazing. The workers are nice and the food is fresh! It's worth the trip to the mall for sure.

Yelp
This is not for me; that said, it could totally be for you. I tried NEotB for the first time quite simply because their line was easily the shortest of the all the Food Trucks and because ... well, tacos. Having not been to this truck before, I just dipped my toes in the water and ordered one taco, the Cochinita Pibil Taco. It is described as "Slow cooked marinated pork, refried beans topped with pickled red onions served on a corn tortilla." As I hope the photo of the taco will show, there were no refried beans, and it was one of the saddest, most anemic-looking tacos I've ever seen. I brought the taco back to my office and asked, "would you pay $4 for this?" Every single person said "no." Some may have used colorful expletives before/after their "no." It was ... fine. But it wasn't great, it was served as advertised, and in a city full of awesome Food Trucks, I can't imagine going back. My suggestion: if you want a decent Food Truck taco, try Sabroso Taqueria or Taco Party.

Ayatt A.

Yelp
The Baja fish tacos are delicious! The grilled fish tacos are alright. The baja was filled with big chunks of fresh, crispy fish, while the grilled fish taco just appeared to have crumbled scraps. The sauce used on the tacos was amazing. I would definitely return and try a few different ones!

Sam S.

Yelp
The tortillas for the tacos are clearly bought off a grocery store. If you are calling this street tacos, you have to make the authentic thick flour tortillas. The chicken/steak/ beef is dry. Adding salsa verde and purple onions would help. Lastly, the tortilla chips with guacamole, what type of green sauce liquid Guacamole that I got? Anyways, if you are paying $6 per little street taco, you can add more flavor to it. You can buy $2-$3 street tacos with more flavor from a mom and pop Mexican restaurant.

Yelp
I'll admit I was feeling pretty torn when looking over NEOTB's menu. It is Tuesday, after all. And these tacos sound incredible. But my hungry belly rumbled my answer: The Cochinita Pibil Torta. This magnificent creation is delectably marinated pulled pork with refried beans and pickled onions sandwiched between two slabs of a big, soft, slightly sweet roll. The blending and absorption of filling with bread are divine in every bite, especially when slathered with the flavorful, only-slightly-spicy truck habanero sauce. They cut the torta in half, so theoretically you could save the other piece for later. But I blacked out from sensory overload while eating, and pretty soon the entire thing was gone. I won't be hungry for the rest of the day. And that's fine with me The truck is parked in front of the Twenty 20 apartments every Tuesday, so East Cambridge residents and employees can get their Mexi fix in the otherwise isolated area. My coworkers who tried the tacos also loved the flavors, although the $7 torta is definitely more food than two tacos at $3-3.50 each. The variety of tacos - chicken, pork, steak, avocado, pepper - is impressive though, so it would be fun to try out different ones. NEOTB makes every day feel like Taco - or Torta! - Tuesday.

Yelp
We had the Cochinita Pork Burrito and the Fried Avocado Taco - Both delicious! The burrito was large enough to share between two people, generously stuffed with moist roasted seasoned pork, rice, beans, and flavorful sauce... husband is picky about pork burritos and grudgingly let me have just one bite - he wanted to, but couldn't, finish it in one sitting, so had enough to take home as second lunch. So tasty, and tortilla soft and chewy. My fried avocado taco was crispy and light, topped with a spicy, creamy cabbage slaw- it tasted fresh and healthy and I would have ordered more or in a combination plate (lots of menu options)- but was pressed for eating time. Service at the new spot in the Burlington food court was excellent- friendly, informative, and eager to have us try new foods and drinks (some classic Mexican beverages)?we'd not sampled before. Spotless counter, condiments, and storefront. Will definitely come back with more people so we can all share each other's selections- a lot of choices and combos! PS - I sampled the spiciest hot sauce and will request next time- quite a kick!!

Yelp
Sooo good! I love how quick and friendly the service is. Every time I'm in the area I make sure I stop in for a taco or 3. My favorite is the barbocoa!
google avatar

Kelley R.

Yelp
Seriously good, seriously fresh! I just tried their new Burlington Mall location and it was excellent. They have fun flavored teas and plenty of kiddo options. I got a chicken bowl and everything in it was amazing with just the right amount of spice. You can tell they make everything in house, especially their crema...too tasty! Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
Honestly the worst Mexican food I have ever had. The staff was friendly but the quality of food was not anywhere near expectations. For the price I expected to be speaking Spanish by the end of my meal. Instead I just threw out the disgusting corn tortillas. Corn tortillas honestly reminded me of Día de los muertos, because I felt dead inside when I tasted them. Do not recommend.
google avatar

Lily M.

Yelp
The Baja tacos were delicious and the perfect portion for one person. I ordered 3 and they came with slaw (dry) and 6 chips with Salsa. Not bad for $12. They also have online ordering, which is super convenient. I got a text when my order was ready.
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
This place is hidden, but awesome!! The barbacoa taco is my absolute favorite thing in High Street Place. I go to it every time we are there!
google avatar

Helena Q.

Yelp
The amount of food you get for a 4$ taco is pretty decent... Because there is so much tortilla. Unfortunately, flavor and texture both were lacking on the cochinita pibil and barbacoa. Big tough chunks of meat, and not much flavor at all. The cochinita pibil was also in a puddle of oil. Pass.

Kevin Z.

Yelp
Definitely one of the better burritos I've had in the greater Boston area, well seasoned and tasty ingredients as well as good portion. I had Kieth help me out and he was awesome!
google avatar

Sally M.

Yelp
Awesome food truck! They served delicious tacos for all of the employees at the campus. The food was fresh and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend hiring for a corporate event!
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Went to their food truck next to south station. Line is quick and smaller. Just beware Taco size is small so order at least two for one serving size. Loveeeee their Baja fish taco although I hate fish in general. Great for quick lunch pickup!

Nicholas P.

Yelp
Food was extremely bland, under or overcooked, and my friend got sick after eating their pork tacos. Very inauthentic Mexican food and potentially hazardous- do not recommend.
google avatar

Mindy L.

Yelp
Impressed by the depth of flavor found inside these little tacos. I ordered the chicken tinga and poblano raja tacos with a side of rice and beans. I devoured the chicken tinga. Just enough heat to accentuate the flavors. The poblano raja amped the heat to the point where I had to take a break in between bites. It was very tasty though. I like that they ask if you want the "recommended" toppings...and that's what I went with. They are well-thought out tacos. I thought the rice was a little mushy, but the beans were nicely cooked. All in all, very happy with this lunch and would seek them out again to try more tacos off the menu in the future.

Jamie C.

Yelp
This place is the best! I always get the fish tacos and avocado tacos. They never disappoint. Crispy fresh and slightly spicy! Their service is always fast, and above and beyond! Think fine dining food truck in a high end mall with perfect tacos, cold beer and slurpee style margaritas! Ample seating throughout the sunny food hall! So glad you all finally are always parked in the same space rain or shine!

Jenna C.

Yelp
Didn't think much of a mall court place but it was delicious! Three tacos and the tamarind drink were delicious and I also really liked the touch of the beans and rice in fried tortilla shells. My friend got the burrito and really enjoyed it. The owner/manager was super friendly - looking forward to my next mall trip to get some more !
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Hands down with worst Mexican food I've ever had. Got fish taco and carnitas tacos at the SOWA market today. My husband, who we lovingly call the "garbage disposal" took one bite of the fish taco and said he had to throw them out. In a decade of marriage I have never seen him willingly throw any food out. But based off the smell, I didn't fight it. Carnitas we're unfortunately not far behind
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Found them at the SoWa marketplace on Sunday where a lot of the food trucks gather. The tacos were seemed like a good idea on the menu but they just didn't match up to par to what I am used to in California, especially San Diego. Baja Fish Taco $4.00: Probably my favorite taco out of the ones that I ordered. The fish was crispy and was accompanied by a nice flavored slaw on top. Nothing amazing but your run of the mill fish taco. The price for $4.00 though seems a bit much for a food truck taco too. Chicken Tinga Taco $3.50/Cochinita Pibil Taco $3.50: I lumped these two tacos under the same review because personally, they seemed super similar in taste. They were essentially just meat piled onto a corn tortilla. There was no depth of flavor and having some sort of other toppings to go along with the meat definitely would have helped the taco not be so one dimensional. Overall I would probably pass on this taco truck and try another one.

Gustavo L L.

Yelp
Amazing food and friendly staff try the barbacoa tacos and margaritas, great atmosphere, this is a great concept,

Lenore F.

Yelp
Delicious tacos. They made them with the fixings that I like. Very tasty . Very helpful staff! I will be back!

Yelp
I was going to Pedro's tacos in downtown and when I got there it was closed. At this point I was really craving some sort of taco. I walked along Tremont heading over to Herrera's when I saw this taco truck parked on the Common. Always down for a taco truck. I went up to the window and told the guy I was in need of some tacos. He asked if I wanted spicy and I said of course. He picked out two tacos for me. I also ordered chips and salsa. Next time I'll try the guac. They accept credit cards as most trucks do these days. I was the only one there when I went up and by the time I finished my order three more people were in line. Awesome tacos. Good spice level. Decent sized and hit the spot. Chips were good but the salsa was not chunky which is what I was looking for at the time. It was still good so I just put t on my tacos. I took these back to work and just about everyone that walked by was eyeing my meal. They're also at Dewey Square some days. Great find. Good pr ce. Will get again.

Marcia M.

Yelp
I'm from upper part of MA down here due to sister's stay at Lahey hospital, decided to try CPL tacos, sooooooo glad I did! Absolutely incredible! Tried Baja fish taco and crispy avacado, never had it before, very impressed! Recommend it for all!
